What do you do when you're free but still struggling? In this powerful Resurrection Sunday message, Bishop T.D. Jakes connects the challenges Israel faced in the wilderness in Exodus 17 to our present-day hope in Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. When pressure rises and resources run dry, frustration can take over. But even in your wilderness, God is already pointing to something greater — revealing how He brings life through Jesus, even in hard places. No matter what feels hard, stuck, or immovable in your life, God is still able to bring breakthrough, roll the stone away, and call you into new life. Message: “Sticks and Stones” Scripture: Exodus 17:1-6 (KJV) Speaker: Bishop T.D. Jakes Date: April 5, 2026 ✨ Welcome to Your Moment of Transformation You don't have to walk this journey alone. Let Jesus guide your steps and fill your life with purpose and peace.

Hey Team! We often talk about the "internal" struggles of ADHD, the messy desks and the forgotten appointments, but we don't always talk about how the outside world reacts to those traits. I'm joined by Brooke Schnittman, an ADHD coach and the best-selling author of Activate Your ADHD Potential. Brooke has worked with thousands of individuals to help them develop sustainable systems for focus and emotional regulation, but today, she's here to talk about a global study she conducted on the link between ADHD and bullying. So in today's episode, we're talking about how this study was conducted and what we can garner from that data. We also discuss the "invisible disability" penalty, where our symptoms are misinterpreted as character flaws, and how "masking" can actually prevent us from progressing because we're too busy being chameleons. And we also cover some practical ways to identify safe people and build a "reciprocal" support system that helps buffer against the impact of chronic criticism. If you'd life to follow along on the show notes page you can find that at HackingYourADHD.com/283 YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/y835cnrk Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HackingYourADHD This Episode's Top Tips When faced with a threat or bullying, the ADHD brain often experiences a physiological "freeze" where the parasympathetic nervous system takes over. It's important for us to understand that we're not always in control of this shift, and not to be self-critical about how we react in the moment and give ourselves grace to do better in the future. To effectively manage a bullying situation, we have to understand the framework: repetition, power imbalance, and harm. Recognizing that a power imbalance can be "social status" or "neurotypical norms" rather than just a boss-employee hierarchy allows us to identify why a situation feels "off". Many ADHDers stay in bullying situations because the executive function required to leave (interviewing, onboarding, starting over) feels more overwhelming than the bullying itself. Shifting the perspective to "body data"—how your nervous system feels around that person—can be a more reliable indicator than your internal pro/con list. Since bullying often triggers a survival response that shuts down your executive functions, you can't rely on logic in the moment. To combat this, Brooke suggests focusing on nervous system regulation tools (like EMDR or grounding) to help your body feel safe again. You have to train your brain before the situation occurs so that "doing X when Y happens" becomes a more automatic habit.

A major new study published in a British medical journal has found that verbal abuse in childhood can leave mental health scars as deep and long-lasting as those caused by physical abuse Researchers pooled data from seven relevant studies, involving over 20,000 adults from England and Wales While childhood physical abuse has halved in recent decades, reports of verbal abuse are on the rise the study found that roughly 20% of those born after 1969 reported childhood verbal abuse, compared to under 12% of those born before 1950. Professor Kirsty Ross, from the School of Psychology at Massey University chats to Jesse.

Meet Tracy Mahaffey, a talented stone carver and memorial artist who creates lasting stories in stone using only her hands and simple tools. Out of her studio comes gravestones, memorials, architectural work, and sculptures. Tracy majored in sculpture in university. At that time, she thought all memorial work was done by computers and sandblasting. When she found people making memorials by hand, she knew she had found her tribe. The low-tech nature of the job appeals to Tracy. All of her work starts with a sketch on paper. Then the sketches become full scale drawings, which are transferred to the stone with carbon paper. All sculpting is done with a mallet and chisel – that's it. Stone carving has changed little since ancient times; tools are now made of stronger materials but the processes are the same. The beauty of a hand carved inscription is the human hand. You want to see the variations. Tracy has created memorial art in a variety of styles ranging from Puritan to art deco to the look of today. Her favorite era is our era. She currently works in marble, limestone, granite, zinc, bronze, and clay. Working with a family to create a memorial for their loved one is a privilege. She loves hearing family stories and condensing them into a story that can be told in stone. The process is truly a collaboration. Tracy is optimistic about the future of memorial arts and is happy to share her knowledge by teaching. She's impressed by the talent and passion of others in her field. Her hope is that people in the future look back and say that the 2000s were a wonderful time period for this art field. The art available in cemeteries around the world rivals that of fine art museums. Tracy recommended the following cemeteries for their beauty and amazing monuments: Bonaventure Cemetery in Savanah, GA: https://www.bonaventurehistorical.org/ Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY: https://www.green-wood.com/ Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno, Italy: https://staglieno.comune.genova.it Mt. Stick and stones will probably break your bones, but words will break your mind. Understanding language, or acknowledging authority by ‘standing underneath', is pertinent to preserve the body, mind, and soul. Birth is a big death and little birth, whereas Death is a little death and big birth, i.e. life is the extension of spiritual death, both of which are temporary. Imbalance creates distortion so that LIVE and LOVE becomes EVIL and EVOL. Since both reversals are pronounced the same they share in a vibratory frequency. The same is true for ADAM, or MADA, or META, which means ‘beyond'. In reverse ATEM means breath, like the breath of life breathed into ADAM in the Garden. Then consider ATOM, the sub-atomic nature of our physical world. We pay attention, pay with money and time, things which are currency and energy, turning us into batterie. In other words, an artificial man, breath, and even sub-atomic met averse. In Egypt, Thoth was the god of magic and words. Once he approached Amon-Ra and told of his new invention, words. Amon told him that words would confuse people and prevent them from learning. That is to say, word magic.

“STICKS & STONES will break my bones, but Words will never hurt me.” Calling that saying garbage! “Words can inspire. And words can destroy. Choose yours well.” Has anyone ever said something about your body that was critical? Maybe they thought they were only joking or just having “fun” with you right? Let's make sure we let everyone know it's not fun and can do a lot of damage for years. I can still remember negative things people said about my body from 40 years ago as a teenager. Crazy huh? Be sure and listen to this episode to start speaking the right things and let go of lies. www.confidentinchrist.org --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Zach and Pam Graham are the founders of Sticks & Stones Axe Company, bringing the trend of axe throwing to Williamson County, Tennessee. Before opening their storefront in February 2022 in Franklin, TN., Zach and Pam held professional careers that started out in public service. Zach served seven years in military before becoming a firefighter and Pam was a 911 emergency dispatcher for 15 years. Wanting a more simple way of the life, the couple relocated to Middle Tennessee and first launched a mobile axe throwing truck and now have expanded to their brick-and-mortar location.
