We immediately jump to the mid-air collision and how it's easy to jump to conclusions. However, when we look at the DEI component of this story, we keep leaning pretty firmly in that direction. We remind you that there are still bad FBI agents out there, including a name we discussed many time, Timothy Thibault. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-NE) and Sen. Timothy Thibault, a top-level FBI agent who had been under fire for his role in investigations regarding President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, resigned late last week and was walked out of the FBI, two U.S. officials confirmed. The California Independent System Operator said in a statement it is taking measures to bring “all available resources” online ahead of the heat wave, which is expected to be the longest and most severe high-heat period to hit the state so far this year. An excessive heat warning is in effect through much of Southern California, with the National Weather Service warning of “dangerously hot” conditions that could climb as high as 115 degrees in some parts of the state. Meanwhile, temperatures in Northern California are expected to be 10-18 degrees warmer than usual. This could include asking residents to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid large appliance use and EV charging, and turn off unnecessary lights between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m, when the grid is the most stressed. Kurt Siuzdak, an ex-FBI agent who now works as a lawyer representing whistleblowers at the bureau, claimed that current agents are saying that Wray has lost control of the agency and that they do not see how he can continue in his position. "I'm hearing from [FBI personnel] that they feel like the director has lost control of the bureau," Siuzdak told the Washington Times. Former President Donald Trump nominated Wray in 2017, after firing then-director James Comey who was investigating his links to Russia. Siuzdak left the FBI after nearly 25 years working as an agent last March, due to what he sees as politicized leaders who were not being held accountable, reported the Daily Mail. According to the Daily Mail report, FBI agents claimed in disclosures to Congress that Wray would be made aware of problems within the bureau but never attempted to solve them. Some of the reported problems that Wray allegedly ignored were agents being forced or coerced into signing false affidavits, claims of sexual harassment and stalking, and the fabrication of terrorism cases to elevate performance statistics. In response to Siuzdak's allegations, the FBI said in a statement to the Washington Times, "The men and women of the FBI work hard every day to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution. All employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, and we expect them to focus on process, rigor, and objectivity in performance of their duties. "Allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and referred to the Inspection Division or appropriate investigative body. In reality, the FBI is comprised of 37,000 employees who do it the right way on a daily basis to keep our nation safe by fighting violent crime, preventing terrorist attacks and defending America from espionage and cyber threats," the statement continued. Siuzdak's claims came soon after the resignation of Timothy Thibault, the FBI Assistant Special Agent in charge of the Hunter Biden laptop investigation, over accusations of political bias. Avoiding Lemon’s point, Kayyem opined about how the narrative for pushing gun control is changing and suggested those against taking away guns are for police getting murdered and were “often” the victims of mass shootings: As they were nearing the end of the segment, Lemon chided those who “think they're a badass when they're holding a gun,” and Kayyem took the opportunity to lash out at the National Rifle Association. Ignoring the fact that the NRA funds and organizes gun safety and training courses, she accused the organization of abandoning advocacy for “responsible gun ownership.” She then explained that her definition of “responsible gun ownership” meant people who “don't have weaponry … unnecessary in civilian society.” Hey, speaking of guns… https://www.theblaze.com/news/new-york-lawmakers-credit-card-companies-gun-sales New York lawmakers ask Mastercard and American Express to flag gun store purchases New York lawmakers believe they have found a way to reduce firearm trafficking and mass shootings. Approximately 50 legislators penned a letter to Mastercard and American Express, requesting that the companies flag purchases made at gun stores. Democratic state Senator Zellnor Myrie shared the letter with Gothamist and spoke about leading the effort. Myrie explained that he believed the public would agree with the lawmakers' request. While credit card companies do not track specific items purchased, they do use merchant category codes designated by retailer type. Mastercard's quick reference booklet notes that purchases made at a gun store fall under the "miscellaneous" or "durable goods" retailer codes. Those two MCCs also include vendors of gas lighting fixtures, musical instruments, fireworks, party supplies, and luggage, to name a few. The letter drafted to Mastercard and American Express requested that gun retailers have their own merchant category code instead of sharing it with other non-firearm-related vendors. This modification would allow credit card companies – and, consequently, the government – to closely track firearm and ammunition purchases. New York legislators argued that plenty of other retailers have a unique code, such as pawn shops, aquariums, and antique shops. They also noted that credit card companies have already been required to report suspicious activity to law enforcement since 1970. Myrie argued that a one-of-a-kind code would help authorities to spot suspicious purchasing activity, which could prevent mass shootings and gun trafficking. The plan, put in place to build a "more inclusive future," is set to cost $100 million over the next five years. According to the Liberals, the plan will "prioritize and sustain 2SLGBTQI+ community action by supporting 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations in advocating for and serving the communities they represent." Goals of the plan include advancing 2SLGBTQI+ rights both in Canada and around the world via laws such as the recently passed criminalization of conversion therapy, as well as using data and investing in awareness campaigns to "improve understanding of 2SLGBTQI+ communities and issues." The cost of the action plan was accounted for in the 2022 federal budget, and on Sunday, Trudeau unveiled exactly where the money would be going. The bulk of the funding, $75 million, was set aside for 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations, with prioritization given to those "experiencing additional marginalization," such as "Black, racialized, and Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ communities," as well as those "with disabilities, seniors, youth, official language minority communities, and those living in rural communities." Defence Minister Anita Anand applauded the plan, saying it would "help us build a Canada where everyone is free and welcome to be their true, authentic selves." An unaccompanied child who crossed the U.S. border illegally without a parent or guardian is processed by Border Patrol and then transferred to Health and Human Services (HHS). HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement is responsible for placing the child with a vetted sponsor in the United States—usually a parent or relative, but not always, says the whistleblower. “There’s no proper vetting right now saying, ‘Hey, these kids are really related to this person.’ No. That could be a child offender, sex offender wanting to take one of these kids into their homes—and the government will let it happen,” the whistleblower told Savanah Hernandez, a Texas-based reporter who runs a podcast called Rapid Fire. The whistleblower alleges in the interview that he works for MVM, Inc., a Virginia-based private security company that contracts with the federal government to escort children throughout the United States from border regions. He estimates the company is currently transporting between 2,000 and 5,000 children every week from Texas to sponsors around the country. They often travel at night and to small, regional airports. HHS started releasing data on the number of unaccompanied minors it was housing in March 2021 as the volume overwhelmed border facilities, which aren’t designed as shelters for children. By April last year more than 20,000 children were in HHS custody at one time, waiting for sponsor placement—at a taxpayer cost of at least $60 million per week. Gradually making my way through ‘Summa Theologica: Volume I' on audiobook, yesterday's reading featured Aquinas talking about eternity and time. Consequently, here's a mind-blowing idea for you: God is His own eternity. But what does that mean? I confess to not fully knowing. Even so, these are not useless or trivial ideas to contemplate. Aquinas stands as the last great medieval scholar of theology. So whereas theology was regarded up until the Enlightenment and our Modern era as “the queen of the sciences,” this really is saying something. Whether you agree with him or not, or even know what to make of him, this is not fluff and stuff. But reading him really is good mental and spiritual exercise. Even so, there are practical troubles to be found in reading books like Summa Theologica. The frank truth is that many folks find this pointless at best. And some feel downright threatened by it, and react with hostility accordingly. Besides that, another byproduct of reading these sorts of books is that you start to talk funny. And this is because you think funny. When most people don't cultivate their minds or inform their opinions this way, doing so makes you stick out. So what if nobody cares? And what if nobody wants to hear it? To not be just another recluse who keeps to himself, sitting around the house waiting for the next chance to talk with other people who are well-read, you might find yourself on the horns of a dilemma. Give up on reading to fit in, or keep prodding everyone around you to join you? Someone I've been listening to recently who navigates this well is Dr. Jordan B. Cooper. About my age, Cooper is a Lutheran minister who has his own podcast and YouTube channel - Just and Sinner - where he talks about theology and church history. In a video examining the methodology at the heart of Michael Heiser's 'Supernatural' and 'The Unseen Realm,' Cooper does a fine job carefully unpacking the presuppositions, assumptions, priorities, and tradition which explain why men like them disagree over what to make of Biblical passages about angels, demons, and gods. Be it known I agree with some of Cooper's biggest concerns - about not only Heiser's methodology, but also John Walton's found in books like ‘The Lost World of Genesis One.' At the same time, I confess to agreeing with many of Heiser's conclusions about the competing religions of the world not just being demonic in the abstract. The gods of those religions are, or were, actual and personal demons. And I would appeal to Augustine on this point; my reading of City of God puts he and I on the same side of this question. To make something of my closing point here, though, consider the story from just yesterday by Joel Abbot at Not the Bee, of FBI special agent Timothy Thibault, who resigned last week and was escorted from the building Monday. He it is who reportedly pressed the bureau to investigate President Trump, to not investigate Hunter Biden, to inflate domestic extremism stats towards putting angry American parents on terrorist watch lists, and to fire agents who refused the COVID vaccine. Repeating myself, I will say that the trouble with conspiracy theories is that sometimes they turn out to be true. And reading great books helps us know when they are or may well be. The agent was escorted out of the field office by at least two “headquarters-looking types” last Friday, the sources said. Thibault and the FBI didn't immediately respond to The Post's request for comment on Monday. Thibault, a 25-year-veteran, had already been on leave for a month after the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), started raising concerns about whistleblower claims the FBI had obstructed its own investigations into the first son.

Today I open with a news the biased and corrupt FBI agent, Timothy Thibault, has resigned from the Bureau. He left under intense scrutiny over allegations he helped to shield Hunter Biden from criminal investigations into his laptop and business dealings. Thibault was escorted out of the field office by at least two “headquarters-looking types,” sources told the NY Post. The current regime seems to look at individual failures and embarrassments as resume enhancements. How else can they explain how Jeremy Bash has been tapped for the White House intelligence board? Bash was one of the 51 “experts” who signed a letter back in 2020 stating the Hunter Biden laptop was nothing more than Russian disinformation and should be ignored. So a breathtaking example of poor judgment (at the least) or intentional duplicity (at the worst) is what wins him a place on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board. Isn't that great? Meanwhile, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre deserves a special spotlight for her inane and insipid commentary over the past couple of days. First, when asked to explain President Biden calling half of the voters in America “semi-fascists” she didn't try to provide cover. Instead, she asked us to look at the definition of “fascism” and think about what “MAGA Republicans” are doing to our democracy. So, per her suggestion, I consulted the definition using the words of Mussolini himself – Everything in the state; nothing outside the state; nothing against the state. I then spend a moment recounting one example after another of how the Democrat party lives up to that very definition. Next, Peter Doocy asked Karine Jean-Pierre to explain why a tennis pro is not allowed to fly into the country unvaccinated, whiie thousands of illegals can walk across the border and get a plant or bus ticket anywhere in the country without proof of vaccination? In typical form, this eminently qualified first suggested no one walks into our country that way. Then, she decided it was a good idea to read off the talking points memo prepared for her about the improvements made to the border. She almost never seems to understand the difficult questions and continues to give answers to what was not asked. She is someone who cheered for cities to be looted and burned to the ground and yet says it's Constitution-loving Americans that are the problem. This focus on promoting/hiring people on demographics is part of our nation's downfall. The AP ran a story, lauding the Federal Reserve for becoming the “most diverse ever” because there are “more female, black and gay officials” working there. Is that also why we have inflation rates at 40 year highs, because they were more worried about filling in demographic check-boxes instead of keeping an eye on the economy? By the way, aren't those also some of the very same demographics our Press Secretary said was why she was qualified for the position? Maybe we had better get back to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, because we are as far away from his “I Have a Dream” speech as I have seen it in my lifetime. On May 31, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent two separate letters—one to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray  and a second letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz. In these letters, Grassley leveled a serious allegation, noting: “It has come to my attention that while serving in a highly sensitive role that includes threshold decision-making over which Federal public corruption matters are opened for investigation, Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Washington Field Office, Timothy Thibault, likely violated several federal regulations and Department guidelines designed to prevent political bias from infecting FBI matters.” As Grassley would later note, “Thibault is a high-ranking FBI agent” in the Washington Field Office.
