Are President Trump and MAGA Republicans publicly signaling that they plan to interfere in—and potentially rig—the 2026 midterm elections? If so, why is the media not taking the threat seriously? In this episode of Inequality Watch, Taya Graham and Stephen Janis investigate the connections between wealth inequality, political power, ICE funding, the influence of Super PACs on elections, and growing concerns about democratic accountability in Trump's America.Credits: Pre-Production: Taya Graham, Stephen JanisStudio Production / Post-Production: Cameron Granadino, Stephen JanisBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-real-news-podcast--2952221/support.Help us continue producing radically independent news and in-depth analysis by following us and becoming a monthly sustainer.Follow us on:Bluesky: @therealnews.comFacebook: The Real News NetworkTwitter: @TheRealNewsYouTube: @therealnewsInstagram: @therealnewsnetworkBecome a member and join the Supporters Club for The Real News Podcast today!

These MAGA Republicans claim they're "manly men," but they're really just insecure little Beta men. Pat talks about how whenever he shares social media posts about Michigan progressive Democratic Senate candidate, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, he gets bombarded by a rush of racist and Islamophobic comments by MAGA voters. But they're following MAGA Republicans in Congress, who have no issue spewing their hatred and racism against Arab-Americans. And a Michigan Republican voted with Democrats to end the Trump Regime's, and Israel's, War on Iran. 9:58-31:00: Line 5 Jeffrey Insko InterviewDr. Jeffrey Insko of The Current returns to the show as he shares some of the latest news surrounding the fight to close the Line 5 oil pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac. They also discuss how Line 5 has negatively impacted Michigan's environment and public health. And they cover how the Trump Regime is working with the Canadian owner of Line 5 to keep it open for years to come. 31:03-46:01: Whitmer & Data CentersIn this week's "Last Call," Pat gives his take on Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer's decision to heartily embrace hyper-scale data centers in Michigan. Gov. Whitmer declares the huge data center in Saline Twp. will be a long-term victory for Michigan. However, many working class Michiganders, as well as many Lansing Democrats, believe lining-up with the billionaire tech bro authoritarians will hurt Michigan in a number of ways. 46:01-48:24: EndingPlease, subscribe to the podcast, download each episode, and give it a good review if you can!leftoflansing@gmail.comLeft of Lansing is now on YouTube as well!Music provided by Wanderbeats. EPISODE DESCRIPTION The media spent years calling conservatives and Trump supporters Nazis. Now they're facing an uncomfortable reality: a Democrat Senate candidate in Maine is under fire for a tattoo linked to the Nazi SS and concentration camp guards. Tara and Roger break down the growing controversy surrounding Graham Plattner, CNN's shifting coverage, and Paul Krugman's controversial call for a "denazification" of the Republican Party. The conversation examines media narratives, political hypocrisy, and the fallout from weaponizing Nazi comparisons in modern politics. PODCAST SUMMARY Today's show focused on two major controversies colliding at the same time. First, Tara and Roger discussed comments from New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, who argued that America may need a "denazification" process similar to post-World War II Germany. The hosts criticized the comparison and argued that conservatives are being unfairly labeled as extremists simply because of political disagreements. The second half of the discussion centered on Democrat Senate candidate Graham Plattner of Maine and allegations surrounding a tattoo identified as the SS Totenkopf, a symbol associated with Nazi concentration camp guards. Tara argued that media outlets previously reported the controversy extensively but are now minimizing it as Plattner gains support among Democrat primary voters. The hosts examined CNN coverage, discussed accusations of media double standards, and argued that political rhetoric surrounding Nazism has become increasingly inconsistent. They also highlighted Plattner's past associations with socialist activism and statements regarding armed political movements. Throughout the episode, Tara and Roger maintained that the controversy exposes what they view as hypocrisy within mainstream media and Democratic political circles. KEY TALKING POINTS Paul Krugman suggests a "denazification" effort aimed at MAGA Republicans. Debate over comparisons between modern political opponents and Nazi Germany. Graham Plattner controversy dominates political discussion. Questions surrounding the SS Totenkopf tattoo and its historical significance. CNN coverage of Plattner's past comments and tattoo history. Allegations of media double standards when discussing extremism. Discussion of Plattner's reported connections to socialist activist organizations. Examination of political rhetoric and its consequences. Growing concerns about polarization in American politics. The impact of extremist labels in modern campaigns. Help keep our podcast going by contributing to our Patreon! You may have noticed that MAGA (Republicans in general, really) are weird about women. That weirdness is ancient. It goes all the way back to ancient Rome, all the way back to ancient Greece, and all the way back to the beginning of the city-state, when gender-based oppression was built into the foundations of the polis. Augustus was similarly weird about women, and so were (and are) many fascist leaders from more modern times. Augustus enacted laws called the Lex Juliae two thousand years ago, as part of his project to dismantle democracy and install an authoritarian state with himself at the head. Join us as we deconstruct those laws, compare them to Project 2025 and 2026, and try to figure out why oppression of women is so important to fascism. ALT TITLE OPTIONS RINOs Revolt? South Carolina Senate Stuns Conservatives Trump Allies Furious After GOP Blocks Redistricting CNN Poll Panic as Republicans Fight Over House Control One Seat Could Decide Congress — And SC Republicans Just Blinked Lindsey Graham Machine Under Fire in Redistricting Battle DESCRIPTION A political firestorm erupts in South Carolina after Republican lawmakers join Democrats to block a special redistricting session tied to congressional control in 2026. The debate exposes deep divisions inside the GOP, with accusations of “RINOs,” unconstitutional district maps, and betrayal of Donald Trump's agenda. Meanwhile, new polling suggests the battle for the House could come down to a single seat. EPISODE SUMMARY Today's episode dives into the explosive political clash unfolding in South Carolina after several Republican state senators sided with Democrats to halt a redistricting effort that supporters say could help Republicans secure another congressional seat. The host argues the move protects a district previously ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and accuses establishment Republicans of sabotaging Trump-backed momentum heading into the 2026 midterms. The episode also highlights new CNN polling showing Democrats' generic ballot advantage shrinking from six points to three, fueling arguments that control of Congress could hinge on just one district. The conversation expands into broader frustrations over government spending, alleged fraud investigations, and internal Republican Party divisions tied to figures like Shane Massey and Lindsey Graham. KEY TALKING POINTS South Carolina Republicans join Democrats to block redistricting session Claims that one congressional seat could decide House control in 2026 CNN polling shows Democrats' advantage narrowing Debate over Supreme Court rulings and race-based district maps Accusations of establishment Republicans undermining Trump Discussion of alleged government fraud investigations and spending Growing divide between MAGA conservatives and establishment Republicans SEO KEYWORDS South Carolina redistricting, Trump redistricting battle, Shane Massey, Lindsey Graham, Jim Clyburn district, CNN polling, 2026 midterms, Republican civil war, MAGA Republicans, House control 2026, South Carolina politics, congressional maps, battleground America, conservative podcast YOUTUBE DESCRIPTION South Carolina politics just exploded after Republican lawmakers joined Democrats to block a major redistricting push tied to control of Congress in 2026. Conservatives are calling it betrayal. Establishment Republicans say it's about protecting competition and debate. In this episode: The fight over Jim Clyburn's district Why CNN polling has Democrats worried The Supreme Court ruling fueling the redistricting battle Accusations against Shane Massey and the Lindsey Graham political machine Why conservatives believe ONE seat could decide the House Will this GOP infighting cost Republicans Congress in 2026? #Politics #Trump #SouthCarolina #Redistricting #Congress #MAGA #Republicans #CNN #JimClyburn #LindseyGraham THUMBNAIL TEXT GOP BETRAYAL? The Supreme Court just gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais, then broke its own 32-day procedural rule to enforce that ruling mid-election with over 100,000 Louisiana ballots already cast. Justice Jackson called the move "chaos" with "a strong political undercurrent." This episode connects the dots between Callais and the gerrymandering cascade now sweeping Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, and beyond, where MAGA Republicans are redrawing maps to win power they can't earn at the ballot box, and how California and Virginia tried referendums to fight back (only one succeeded). We then break down Trump's "deal or bomb" ultimatum to Iran and the one-page memo he claims is close to signing. The U.S. Navy is interdicting Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices have spiked since February, and the Iran war fuel spike is the through-line that just killed Spirit Airlines, which announced an orderly wind-down of operations on May 2 and eliminated 17,000 jobs. We unpack the political blame war (Bessent and Duffy point at Warren, Buttigieg, and the Biden DOJ; Warren and Stoller point at Trump's Iran war) and the actual antitrust question underneath: neo-Brandeisian theory versus the Chicago School consensus. In the Breakdown in the Public segment, we cover AI emotional manipulation and the rise of "AI psychosis," including the case of Soon Hourican, a man in his 50s in Northern Ireland whose Grok chatbot "Ani" convinced him he was being surveilled and led him to arm himself with a knife and a hammer. The BBC documented 14 similar cases across 6 countries. Jonathan Gavalas of Jupiter, Florida died by suicide after his Google Gemini chatbot claimed to be his wife. His family is suing Google. Bipartisan supermajorities (74 to 78 percent in the Human Statement national survey) want AI labels, safety testing, and accountability. Neither party is moving on it. Trump tried to deregulate AI through the One Big Beautiful Bill, then through executive order. Then we dig into the 2026 Ohio U.S. Senate race: Jon Husted versus Sherrod Brown, the cleanest test in the country for whether Ohio is genuinely red now or whether 2024 was a Trump-driven anomaly. We cover Brown's tailwinds (Trump's economic approval at 40 percent, the Callais fallout potentially energizing Democratic turnout), his headwinds (a smaller union-Democrat coalition, Ohio's redrawn map), and the First Energy / HB6 connections that may haunt Husted's campaign. Sherrod Brown, you have an open invite to come on the show. We close with three good news stories the mainstream media isn't covering enough: clean energy passing coal as the world's largest electricity source for the first time since 1919 (per Ember's 2025 review and the IEA's 2026 Global Energy Review), the UCL bowel cancer trial showing zero relapses after 33 months using pembrolizumab pre-surgery, and the North Atlantic right whale baby boom that proves conservation policy works when implemented seriously across borders. Tonight's through-line: the polls keep saying voters want guardrails. The people in power keep finding ways around them. From voting maps to AI rules to who gets prosecuted, this is the pattern we connect tonight. We all know about the perverse and repulsive behavior of the liberal-Biden administration, especially their seeming interest in exploiting children. However the saviors of the youth, MAGA Republicans, are not much better. They may even be worse. The Trump administration has actively protected sexual deviants in the name of exposing them. Data from the FBI and DOJ indicates that operations to save children under both of the recent White House administrations were standard procedure, and yet the Biden team actually prosecuted more people and saved more children according to the numbers. From Craig Long, Robert Morris and Rj May to Pete Hegseth, Linda McMahon, Laura Loomer, and Steve Bannon to the President himself, the entire MAGA movement is filled with some of the lowest life in the country -- nothing short of the Biden or Obama administrations, or Bush and Clinton. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Lee Zeldin stumps House Dems on SCOTUS cases, did secret service do their job, Hakeem "Hands" Jeffries blaming extreme MAGA Republicans for 3rd attempt on Trump.
Chuck Todd opens with the unraveling of Trump's Iran peace talks and the president's threat of a naval blockade, breaking down why the administration has far less leverage than it's letting on, why Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz puts Trump in a corner with only two real choices—escalate or capitulate—and why markets have been dangerously complacent as the economic hit accelerates and consumer confidence sinks below COVID-era lows. From there, Chuck digs into the collapse of Eric Swalwell's career amid sexual abuse allegations and the bipartisan push to expel him along with three other members of Congress, the wide-open and underwhelming California governor's race left behind by a weak Democratic field and Tom Steyer's charmless self-promotion, the curious Roger Stone–Tulsi Gabbard connection and their shared Russia sympathies, and Trump's promise of preemptive pardons for White House staff—making the case for why Congress urgently needs a commission on the pardon power. Then, conservative talk radio host and Georgia political commentator Martha Zoller joins the Chuck ToddCast for a wide-ranging conversation about the state of politics in the Peach State and beyond. Martha and Chuck dig into why non-MAGA Republicans remain viable in Georgia, how Trump's influence has reshaped the GOP (and arguably handed Democrats two Senate seats), David Perdue's identity crisis between the Trump and Romney wings of the party, and the current landscape of Georgia's gubernatorial and Senate primaries—including why the governor's race may be Mike Collins' to lose and how Rick Jackson's entry has shaken things up. The conversation then broadens to the deeper fault lines running through American politics: the cultural divide between traditional and progressive family values, why millennials feel left behind, neither party's failure to address affordability, and how media saturation and the collapse of bipartisan relationships in Congress have made compromise feel like treason. Martha and Chuck also explore whether Brian Kemp has presidential ambitions, why it's still harder for Republican women to break through, Jon Ossoff's political strengths, and whether figures like Obama and Trump are really two sides of the same disruption-hungry coin. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to revisit the Bay of Pigs debacle under John F. Kennedy and why that event still reverberates today, and answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment. Thank you Wildgrain for sponsoring. Most of it is due to surging gas prices, thanks to The Trump Regime's and the Israeli right wing government's illegal war on Iran. Combine this with the harm and damage The Regime, and its MAGA Republican Congress, have perpetrated on the working class with the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill," and Trump's insane tariffs, it's no wonder working class voters are irate and demanding drastic changes to shift the scale away from The Epstein Class, and back towards the working class. We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when… But I know we'll meet again some sunny day! Tomorrow, David Waldman might be broadcasting under the cloud of a nuclear winter, but today we still have the Tuesday KITM to bring you. Whether he tacos again or not, Donald K. Trump has lost his "fuckin'" mind. Trump has already brought hell to the Middle East, so what's a few million more degrees? Donald was going kill some soldiers to steal the oil because that's what "businessmen" do... He might still kill some soldiers to steal the uranium, because that is what Mark Levin would do. Any country might now consider shooting at the US out of self-defense… except Canada, unless Charles turns his back for a minute. While he's out destroying civilizations, Trump hasn't forgotten about ours. His new voting executive order is lightweight, ambiguous, confusing, and confused, which totally tracks, and of course Trump never skimps on the unconstitutionality. Kristi Noem almost let sunlight touch Stephen Miller before he could scramble back to his sarcophagus. Hubby Bryon's balloon boobies were busted as a result, although the real security risk was out in the open. JD Vance will take over for the self-humiliation this week by rallying for Viktor Orbán on behalf of Trump and Putin. Each day is an opportunity to be duped by AI. Yesterday it was MAGA Republicans, tomorrow it could be someone important.

With the public outraged over the US-Israeli war with Iran, the Epstein Files coverup, and a cost-of-living crisis, even President Trump's base of supporters is fracturing, and Republicans are fixing to get slammed in the upcoming midterm elections. Perhaps that explains why Trump and MAGA Republicans are obsessively focused on attacking voting rights, taking federal control over the electoral system, and preemptively casting doubt on the midterm election results before the elections even happen. TRNN Editor-in-Chief Maximillian Alvarez speaks with Ari Berman, national voting rights correspondent for Mother Jones, about MAGA Republicans' effort to rig the midterms—and what can be done to stop it. J.B. Pritzker just revealed the number-one item on his presidential agenda — and it has nothing to do with making your life better. The governor of Illinois sat down with the New York Times to announce what Democrats are calling "Project 2029." The centerpiece: criminally prosecuting Trump administration officials and federal agents once Democrats retake the White House. Not the economy. Not crime. Not inflation. Jailing political opponents. The NYT host responded with what can only be described as barely concealed enthusiasm. This is the same man who told a national interviewer that Chicago's murder rate had been "cut in half" on his watch — while Chicago ranked first in violent crime per 100,000 people among major U.S. cities, ahead of Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York. He also quietly changed Illinois law to require that any lawsuit against his state government be filed in Cook County — a jurisdiction with a well-documented relationship with the political class that runs it. While Pritzker was busy mapping out political prosecution plans, Senator Mike Lee called the Senate's bluff. He brought a unanimous consent vote on voter ID — a measure 80% of Americans support, and one multiple Democrats had publicly claimed to back. Democrats blocked it. Hours earlier, Nancy Pelosi had gone on CNN to promise that a Democratic majority would take the "partisanship" out of Washington. She tore up a State of the Union speech on national television. But sure — less partisan. When J.B. Pritzker talks about locking up Trump and prosecuting his administration, understand who he's really talking about. MAGA Republicans in the latest polling show 100% approval of Donald Trump. That's not an attack on one man. That's an attack on all of us. A recent NBC News poll analyzed by CNN's Harry Enten shows President Trump maintaining 100% approval among self-identified MAGA Republicans, with zero disapproval, which Enten compared to the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins. This perfect support level highlights unbreakable loyalty within Trump's core MAGA base, even as broader public opinion faces challenges. Despite the ongoing Iran conflict driving up oil prices and contributing to inflation concerns, Trump has not lost any support from MAGA voters, according to the data. Enten emphasized that the MAGA coalition remains as strong as — or slightly larger than — it was during the 2024 election, with no signs of fracture in this key group, which could energize Republican turnout and primary dynamics heading into the 2026 midterm elections. Editor-In-Chief of National Review Rich Lowry joins Sid for his weekly Wednesday morning appearance to talk about the World Baseball Classic, agreeing it is contrived compared with the Olympics. The conversation shifts to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's St. Patrick's Day remarks, criticized for bringing up Gaza/Palestine and calling Israelis genocidal; Sid and Rich then address Joe Kent's resignation and claim of “no imminent threat,” arguing threats should be confronted before becoming imminent and criticizing isolationists they say are hostile to Israel and falsely claim Trump was tricked into war, while noting most MAGA Republicans back Trump due to opposition to Iran and preventing a nuclear threat. Finally, they debate the SAVE Act and voter ID, with Lowry supporting citizenship verification but warning against eliminating the filibuster given likely lack of votes and potential future Democratic actions, and they criticize Republican opposition, especially Lisa Murkowski. We welcome back to our show, political satirist and digital comedian, Walter Masterson. Walt is a progressive video content creator who has turned trolling the likes of Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt Gaetz and the whole MAGA shit-show into an art form. His recent work trolling anti-choice protestors, anti-vaxxers and MAGA Republicans brilliantly captures the idiocy of the movement. Video footage that Walt shot while working on the frontlines during the January 6th insurrection has been instrumental in helping the FBI apprehend rioters who were stupid enough to brag about their crimes on tape! Walt's hilarious and insightful work has garnered him thousands of followers on multiple platforms and pro-democracy sites, like Patriot Takes and Meidas Touch. Walt's even brave enough to interact with users who both love and hate him on Twitch and Snapchat. Currently, he's crowdsourcing for his latest venture, “Trolling Conservatives Across America”.

President Trump’s State of the Union Address is so magnificently important in the history of everyone on Earth, that I’m hoping, here on Feb. 26, 2026, that someone prints up and elegantly binds it, with accompanying photos of the spectacle of pathetic-looking Democrats, and fired-up MAGA Republicans, and even compelled-to-cheer-by-the-address’s-greatness RINOs, as soon as possible. I’ll buy multiple copies, including two for my kins to study closely.

And about the concrete things that Europe needs to do to get ready to defend itself without the U.S. - and about the historic and completely transformational shift in European security and politics that's still largely ignored - but that is now already happening.
2026-01-30 | UPDATES #119 | Two Americans dead in Minneapolis after encounters with federal immigration agents. A city on edge. Courts warning the administration to stop violating orders. Republicans — even MAGA Republicans — demanding investigations. And inside Trump world? The wheels are coming off. Finger-pointing, retreats, and the sound of people backing away from the cliff edge they ran towards. But will Trump's TACO on his own domestic programme of lawless authoritarianism go into reverse, or will this simply be seen as a minor rebranding issue? ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------SOURCES: Reuters — Trump warns Minneapolis mayor is “playing with fire”; Homan takes over, Bovino sidelined.Reuters — Expert critique of narrative control around Minneapolis encounters.Axios — Who's in hot water; quotes from Noem and Miller; judge orders ICE chief to appear. In a brutal loss for those who want a MAGA civil war, MAGA voters approve of President Trump according to a new YouGov poll. On the flip side, a new poll from politico, a significant portion of 2024 Trump voters — more than a third — do not consider themselves to be MAGA Republicans. And not only are they less loyal to Trump than self-identified MAGA Republicans, the poll suggests some of them have already begun to turn on him: Non-MAGA Trump voters are much more likely to blame Trump for the state of the economy, say he has too much power and be pessimistic about the future. So which one is it? An Afghan national shot two National Guardsmen on Wednesday, one succumbed to injuries on Thanksgiving.
