As long-time followers of our show are aware, The Wolf and Action Jackson are HUGE Led Zeppelin fans. When it was announced several years back that there would be a Led Zep documentary coming, we were psyched and knew that we'd not only have to go see it on the big screen but do a review on UAWIL. However, we we didn't know that director Bernard MacMahon had not only unearthed and cleaned up video of a performance by the band in Bath from 1969, but he also uncovered a never-before-heard audio interview of John Bonham. Thanks to that interview, he was able to get reflections from all four members of Led Zeppelin on their journey to becoming the biggest band in the world. Instead of being a complete career retrospective, this film focused on the back stories of each member - how they grew up, when they became fascinated with rock music, which artists turned them on and how they found their way into the music business. Most fans know that Jimmy Page was on tv with his skiffle group as a kid before becoming a premier session guitarist in London. But did you know that John Paul Jones learned so much from his father, pianist John Baldwin, and was a choirmaster at age 14? Did you know Robert Plant would try many different types of groups, hairstyles and scenes before he ever became a Golden God? Learning how Jimmy Page put the first record together so he would have leverage with record companies to not only get better royalties but to not be forced into releasing singles is just one amazing insight into how Led Zeppelin became the juggernaut, especially in the US, that would define their legacy. Action went to great lengths to see this movie and offer his perspective so give us a listen and see this film in the theaters while you can - the video and sound is amazing!! The AI-video of Trump's Gaza, featuring a golden statue of the President, finally has Christians worried about his role in the rise of the anti-Christ. A similar golden statue of King Nebuchadnezzar was recorded in the book of Daniel, an object the people were required to worship upon the playing of music. However, three Jews named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, refused to worship that statue and were thus thrown into a furnace. In a scary parallel, the same day Trump pinned the golden video, in the golden age, to his Truth Social, the Department of Justice antisemitism task force condemned all criticism and opinion of Israel, stating: “We are going to put these people in jail—not for 24 hours, but for years.” This is an expansion of the violations of the First Amendment, which includes shutting down protests, free speech, and press if any anti-Israel statement or action perceived. This same administration is now talking about expanding red flag laws and abiding by due process only in name, something the Michael Bloomberg groups love. The golden statue could also be viewed in another way, especially since the Jews were no strangers to worshiping false idols like the golden bull or Remphen. As universal tolerance of religion was the norm in the Roman world, only one group of people refused to participate. Jewish communities, which had sealed themselves off from the rest of mankind, rejected the Roman acceptance of all religions, and rejected the sacrifice offered to their god by Augustus, refusing to offer even an empty gesture to Jupiter. This, along with universally foreign customs, caused Jews to be disliked. Edward Gibbon writes further, “The conquest of the land of Canaan was accomplished with so many wonderful and with so many bloody circumstances that the victorious Jews were left in a state of irreconcilable hostility with all their neighbors.” And this is where we find ourselves today, where much of the hatred for Israel is a byproduct of their own penmanship. The Democrat protests are financed to make Israel a victim, something Republicans are financed to remedy through war. The US Government is occupied by the authors of destruction to every act of civility and natural rights. Nations, peoples, groups, religions, etc., are turning on Jews and Israel, to the detriment of decent Jews. Nations and peoples are sick of the chosen race rhetoric, antisemitism charges, the lack of consequences for crimes, and the blatant disregard Israel has for humanity, human rights, religious tolerance, civility, decency, and a society free of degeneracy. -FREE ARCHIVE (w. ads)SUBSCRIPTION ARCHIVEX / TWITTER FACEBOOKWEBSITECashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

It's the 30 year anniversary of Dazed and Confused (1993), Richard Linklater's ode to 70s adolescence. And he wasn't alone - many of the 90s greatest films were set in the last vinyl decade. Besides the dramatically pointy collars and avocado bathroom sets, what was the appeal? To answer the question, we take a closer look at Linklater's coming-of-age breakout hit, Cameron Crowe's career-defining Almost Famous (2000 - ok not quite 90s, but as good as) and our favourite Paul Thomas Anderson movie, Boogie Nights (1997).ReferencesAn Oral History of Boogie Nights‘Almost Famous: The Oral History of a Golden God's Acid Trip' by Ilana Kaplan for the NY Times‘Dazed and Confused Was the Definitive Movie About the '90s, Not the '70s' by Stephen Marche for EsquirePhilip Seymour Hoffman on Acting Film PharmacySalò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1977) dir. by Pier Paolo PasoliniFame (1980) dir. by Alan Parker-----------If you love what we do, please like, subscribe and leave a review!Produced and edited by Lily AustinMusic and sound by James BrailsfordLogo design by Abby-Jo SheldonFollow usEmail us

This week we dust off our vinyl and light some candles, we're about to go on tour; I sure hope we don't have tests or graduation we need to be back for. . . . We follow Still Water on their Almost Famous tour in 1973, starring Russel on guitar, Jeff on vocals, that guy there on the bass, and that other guy on the drums. Presenting the Baby-Faced Assassin, William Miller, portraying a fictionalized version of writer and director Cameron Crowe on his journey of growing up. We meet the transcendent Kate Hudson luring William into a world of rock and roll while the anchor of "MOM" (Frances McDormand) screams, "Don't Take Drugs!" But really we learn about the Tao of Lester Bangs: never make friends with the rock stars.
“When people are faced with obstacles, they try to brush it away, or shut it out of their minds. Obstacles and doubts are different. Obstacles are real and doubts are created by the mind. Martial Arts is one of the best ways for your mind to train for real situations. You have to deal with situations and deal with them right now. You have to face it right now. This training has shaped everything. You are not looking for a way out, you are looking for a solution. As a martial artist, I become a problem solver, and get to figure it out.” -- Zoltan BathoryMy guest this episode is Zoltan Bathory who is a Martial Artist and a World Class Musician. He is the founder and rhythm guitarist of Las Vegas based heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch. In 2010, he was named Golden God's "Best Shredder" by Metal Hammer magazine. He is an actively competing martial artist, holding Black Belts in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo. In 2022 he won Gold Medals at the IBJJF International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships in both Black Belt Super Heavy Masters and Black Belt Absolute Masters Divisions. He also practices Wing Chun Kung Fu and is one of a few civilians certified by the US Army as a Modern Army Combatives Instructor. Bathory is also a founding board member of the veterans nonprofit Home Deployment Project in Las Vegas and sits on the Board of Advisors at VETPAW (Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife), an anti-poaching organization operating on the African continent, composed of US combat veterans. This episode is a truly enlightening discussion and a journey into the conscious experience of being a martial artist. We dive deep into how to get the body and mind to work in perfect harmony so we can harness our true potential and find flow on the matts and in our lives. My key takeaway is that the through the practice of martial arts we can unleash the power of creativity and solve problems in real time. Martial Arts provides us with an experiential feedback loop in which we get to test our ability to relax under pressure, create sequences and adapt and change under pressure. We also dive deep into the spiritual growth that comes through martial arts, how we get to grow as people, express ourselves without fear, and responsibly conduct ourselves with integrity and honor. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode; it is a true reminder of the value of the mental and spiritual benefits of martial arts practice. After all we don't “Do martial arts, we become martial arts. It's a Lifestyle”.

From Thursday night's live show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays): The Houston Astros took a 2-0 lead on the Seattle Mariners in the American League Divisional Series with a 4-2 W Thursday night. And once again, it was because they thought it was a good idea to pitch to Yordan Alvarez...at least until it was too late.

While Joe Biden gets to celebrate a B.F.D., Republicans continue to pay homage to their Golden God nationally and in Michigan as the once Grand Old Party continues to disintegrate. One ominous sign (of many) for the GOP's state ticket: a lack of money. The Whitmer/Gilchrist/Nessel/Benson ticket is banking millions for the fall campaign while the opposition campaigns operate on fumes. Also this week: opponents of the Reproductive Freedom constitutional amendment lash out at the petition printer … the Republicans' would-be Secretary of State heads to New Jersey for some Trump love even as the state GOP faces major financial woes … Democrats prepare for the best kind of party convention (boring and uneventful) … while Republicans start preliminary feuding over Tudor Dixon's running mate in the run up to a state convention that promises too be the political equivalent of a UFC championship fight - admittedly, in the lightweight class. _________________________________________ This week's podcast is underwritten by Practical Political Consulting and EPIC-MRA.
