Are you ready to be the face of your brand and stand out from the crowd? The idea of having a personal brand isn't new, but there's a persistent misbelief that personal brands are just for CEOs, celebrities and Instagram influencers. But consider this: Recently, I saw a post on LinkedIn by Nat Berman predicting a Personal Brand explosion. He said:"Most of the CEOs, Founders & entrepreneurs who have been sitting on the sidelines won't any longer. They'll realize how important it is to be known for more than just their jobs."But, more critically, "They'll also be looking at other personal brands as a form of resume!"Which made me think that if this prediction plays out, then in order to stand out & to ensure our success in the future, every one of us - you, me, all of us, need to develop our personal brands. To help explore the idea that developing your personal brand is not just a good idea - but vital to your career path - I've invited two career coaches onto this week's Standout Business Show.Sonal Bahl is a career strategist & founder of Supercharge Yourself who's developed her personal brand via a successful Youtube channel (with 145,000 subscribers) and weekly LinkedIn livestream series.Ashley Paré is a leadership coach for professional women & founder of Own Your Worth & Worthy Women's Collective who's grown her personal brand through public speaking including her TEDx talk, 'How to have your cake & negotiate too.'Stay tuned - & let's tune up your personal brand!Takeaways:Everyone already has a personal brand. You have a limited choice in how much you can control the narrative around your brand. The power of showcasing your unique features to connect with those around you.The ART framework of designing your personal brand.Episode ResourcesConnect with Sonal BahlConnect with Ashley Paré Become a Standout Brand 1-Minute at a time! Dear Sis, I wish that we would inherently know how valuable we are.  Sometimes we depend on other people or accolades to prove that we are valuable, but I assure you that isn't the case.  No job title or home title determines WHO are you.  Guess what? You get to decide.   Today I'm talking with Darnise Harper about self-confidence, self-worth, and being a worthy woman.      Darnise's Bio Darnise is first and foremost a proud mom. She is also the host of the Worthy Women podcast and a Confidence Coach. Being someone who had what others would consider a picture-perfect life she had no reason not to be confident, but that all changed when the fairytale ended in divorce and her becoming a single mom. With her confidence shattered and having to rediscover who she was outside of being a wife. She had to learn how to rebuild not only her shattered confidence but also pick up the pieces of her life. Though the process wasn't easy it not only made her faith foundation stronger, along the way her confidence was rebuilt and she began to rediscover who she was.  She now teaches other women how to rebuild their confidence and discover or rediscover who they are. Darnise is passionate about facilitating transformation in women and teaching them that knowing who you are and having confidence is possible. One thing that stuck out: Your self-worth is like building a house. You must start with a solid foundation. If your foundation is shaky, everything else will be.   Topics Covered: Defining self-worth/ confidence Building your “house” of self-worth Self-worth spills over into other areas of life Misconceptions of self-confidence The progression of self-confidence   Darnise, what's one piece of advice you would want to give your sisters about self-worth? Never compromise your self-worth. Your value is your value.   Where To Find Darnise Instagram: iamaworthywoman Podcast: Worthy Women Podcast   Follow me! Do you find yourself stuck in a situation that is no longer right for you but you’re afraid to make changes? Audrey Bellis, founder of Worthy Women, shares with us why it’s important to focus on what’s good for you, how to step up from a place of service, and why you can’t raise your net worth until you raise your self-worth. In this episode, Audrey shares her personal journey of shedding other people’s expectations and following her own path. She provides practical tips on how to overcome fears, embrace your authentic self, and become a worthy woman. Highlights: [02:01] Broken to worthy woman [02:45] Story of Worth Women [09:13] Sales is a numbers game [12:56] Getting past rejection [19:05] Overcoming your fears [20:08] Focus on what matters [24:48] Lean on your community [27:13] Authenticity fuels success Quotes: “People struggle to switch lanes because they are so invested in how it needs to be.” – Audrey Bellis “Everything you do comes from a place of self-worth. And if you do not feel worthy of asking for the multimillion-dollar sale, you're not going to get it.” – Audrey Bellis “As a leader, if you don't feel empowered in who you are and have clarity in what you stand for, you won’t be able to lead others. Leadership is a top-down experience.” – Audrey Bellis “Everything is a numbers game. Integrity is the key.” – Audrey Bellis “You need to do what's right for you but also give yourself permission that it isn't set in stone and it can change. And that’s okay.” – Audrey Bellis “Nobody owes you anything. You create your own opportunities.” – Audrey Bellis “The key to accelerating in a digital world is to stop trying to be like everybody else. Show up as you.” – Audrey Bellis “The way that we accelerate is being clear and honest with ourselves. It’s our willingness to be vulnerable and have boundaries.” – Audrey Bellis “You can’t raise your net worth until you raise your self-worth.” – Audrey Bellis About Audrey Bellis: As the Founder of StartUp DTLA, Audrey gets to help bring tech and creative companies into Downtown LA during what has been called the ‘downtown renaissance.’ Connecting these companies with office space, resources, and funding has been one of her greatest joys while having the opportunity to help build a city. While Audrey loves serving the tech community, the #WorthyWomen tribe holds a special place in her heart. Through this platform, she has had the opportunity to not only serve the public, but also been able to work with enterprise leaders and top female executives. Worthy Women is the story of how she found her deepest self-worth and helped women find theirs. You can find Audrey urban exploring across Los Angeles, often with a book under her arm. She is a lover of a well-aged single malt, strong coffee, and her dog Tapatio.  Links: Website: http://www.audreybellis.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/audreybellis/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/audreyrbellis Twitter: https://twitter.com/audreybellis YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCely90sEUuYthFrawhBLn0A Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/audreybellis/

"After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels..." - Ann Richards Women have been instrumental in the success of American cinema since its very beginning. One of the first people to ever pick up a motion picture camera was a woman. As was the first screenwriter to win two Academy Awards, the inventor of the boom microphone and the first person to be credited with the title Film Editor. Throughout the entire history of Hollywood women have been revolutionizing, innovating, and shaping how we make movies. Yet their stories are rarely shared. This is what film reporter Alicia Malone wants to change. "Backwards and in Heels" tells the history of women in film in a different way, with stories about incredible ladies who made their mark throughout each era of Hollywood. From the first women directors, to the iconic movie stars, and present day activists. Each of these stories are inspiring in the accomplishments of women, and they also highlight the specific obstacles women have had to face. "Backwards and in Heels" combines research and exclusive interviews with influential women and men working in Hollywood today, such as Geena Davis, J.J. Abrams, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, America Ferrera, Paul Feig, Todd Fisher and many more, as well as film professors, historians and experts. Think of Backwards and in Heels as a guidebook, your entry into the complex world of women in film. Join Alicia Malone as she champions Hollywood women of the past and present, and looks to the future with the hopes of leveling out the playing field. Alicia Malone is a film reporter, host, writer and self-confessed movie geek. She first gained notice hosting movie-centric shows and reviewing films in her native Australia, before making the leap to Los Angeles in 2011. Since then, Alicia has appeared on CNN, the Today show, MSNBC, NPR and many more as a film expert. Something I'm realizing now more than EVER is the power of community. So it's only fitting that today's episode is with community builder extraordinaire Audrey Bellis.  Audrey is a FORCE OF NATURE. A first-generation Latina, she's is shaping the future of Los Angeles, and specifically, Downtown LA by fostering the startup and tech communities as a founder of StartupDTLA and as a cofounder ofGRID110. Not only that, she’s linking creative female entrepreneurs as the founder of Worthy Women. Mayor Garcetti's office honored her as 1 of 5 "Inspiring Latinas of LA" and TechOutLA named her "a key player in the Eastside/DTLA tech movement." If there's anyone who knows how to create community and make a collective impact as visionary women in the world, it's this stunner.  In this episode, we dive deep into knowing your body and healing past trauma, why owning your worth is so important in everything from business to friendships, Audrey’s crazy medical complications that gave her a huge wake up call – and her sort of Eat Pray Love experience that helped facilitate that, and why it’s so important that we’re never, ever, ever done with the work, even if we think we’ve reached success or that we know it all. We also talk building community, making friends as an adult, finding the people who we connect with on the deepest levels, which can be hard sometimes as an adult, and so much more. HEADS UP: this episode contains graphic descriptions of Audrey's health scare. So if you're squeamish, you might want to skip over the part about 15 or so mins in where she's talking about the bathtub. We don't shy away from anything here on WANT - it's so important to me that these podcasts tell unedited, unglossy stories (because life is unedited and unglossy). But you've been warned ;)
