0:00 Have you ever been scrolling through your newsfeed and you saw a post that made you literally stop your scroll? This happened to me recently, and I wanted to share why I stopped my scroll and why I decided to share the story with you on the podcast today. 1:23 Why Yong has been embracing the good, the bad, and the ugly in business and sharing it with you here on the podcast. 2:15 How learning her Human Design helped Yong share her real self more openly and authentically, even though the fear still rises. 2:55 The lesson Yong continues to lean-into and practice even after 20+ years as an entreprenener. 3:42 Why a recent zoom call with a prospective client didn't turn out as planned. 5:08 The phrase that was the beginning of the end 6:11 The reason behind why Yong used that particular phrase on a live Q&A turned podcast episode7:24 Yong's evidence that proved the opposite of the conclusions of the prospective client8:28 The reason Yong got defensive on the call and stopped listening to her gut.9:24 Listen to the first podcast that came about as a result of this conversation at www.yongpratt.com/3409:46 The post caused Yong to stop her scroll 10:25 Here is what Deb's post read: "Stop trying to convince people to work with you. Instead, create content that attracts them to you."11:19 The reason why Yong was trying to convince this client to work with her11:46 Yong's former people-pleasing ways12:09 “It's okay just to be you. In being you, the right people are going to be attracted to you. And the reality is that not everyone will like you.” - Yong Pratt 13:03 “At the end of the day, it's our job to show up authentically, and create content that speaks to those that we want to serve and that also serves us in return. In this life, it's our obligation to speak our truth, to be our real selves, and to amplify everything that makes us awesome even if that means we don't get hired.” - Yong Pratt13:39 “Those people that need convincing will never become a client of yours, or mine.” - Yong Pratt 14:05 The absolute Yong believes we all need to abolish15:02 “Convincing someone to do something or invest in someone they don't believe in is a game that you can't win. Focus instead on serving, sharing your gifts and amplifying your awesome, even if not everyone will see or appreciate your awesomeness.” - Yong Pratt15:40 “In this digital economy, there's no room for hiding. There's no room for being wishy washy. There's no room for accommodating others if that means you have to be someone else to make that happen.” - Yong Pratt 15:58 Just be you.16:12 “It's time for the world to see you in all your awesome glory. It's time to embrace your you-ness 100%. 0:03 As a transformation maker - a coach, a consultant, a course creator - you're creating an awful lot of content. Let me ask you a very candid question. Does all of that content equal cash for you? 0:23 Until fairly recently, Yong didn’t have a process for monetizing her content. Because she had so much content out there, there was not a lot of reason for people to actually hire her to help them do the things that I was teaching because they could go figure it all out for free. 1:21 What Yong did instead of Gary Vee Style Content Repurposing and how it turned into her signature 3-Step Framework to Turn Content into Cash 3:16 Today's episode topic: Yong’s three-step framework to turn your content [yep, that content you have already created] into cash. 4:14 Things you could do with all that extra cash, especially with summer right around the corner4:55 Today’s topic isn’t one that’s talked about often which is exactly why you need to tune in and listen or watch the video version inside the Arena of Awesome5:15 If you haven't listened to the Myth of More [#333] or Content Gold Mining versus the traditional Gary Vee style content repurposing [#334] be sure to do so as they lay the foundation for today’s episode5:40 How Yong’s Nevada roots influenced and helped shape the idea of Content Gold Mining | The Low-Hanging Fruit for most content creators that has them flocking to Gary Vee Style Content Repurposing7:36 One of the downfalls of the Gary Vee Content Repurposing Method9:26 Surface level versus underground gold mining10:53 The good news for you as a content gold miner11:41 In order to turn your content into cash, all you have to do is D. I. G.. If you can remember that simple phrase, you literally have a way to monetize your content. 12:21 When you try out this framework in your business, be sure to share your questions, successes, and more with Yong at www.Yong Pratt.com/335 or inside the Arena of Awesome13:17 Step 1 in the D.I.G. Framework allows you to see ALL your content gathered in one singular place. It’s often the first time my clients have seen just how much content they’ve actually created and it’s often an emotional experience in the best of ways.” - Yong Pratt18:30 What you’ll likely notice during the Discovery Process 19:21 The reaction Yong’s clients have every.single.time. She takes them through this Discovery Process20:56 An everyday example of what the Discovery Process is like 21:14 Step 1 in the D.I.G. Framework: I = Ideate and why it’s so exciting22:15 How Yong used the Ideate Process to publish her first book 24:40 The focus of Yong’s first book25:54 “I want to simplify the process, because that's one of my superpowers - Simplify the complicated.” - Yong Pratt27:49 “In the ideation phase of the D.I.G Framework, there's no right or wrong. There's no one size fits all. You are unique. Your content is unique. And when you ideate and use your imagination to create, the possibilities are absolutely endless.” - Yong Pratt28:22 Two additional ways Yong has used the Ideate Process herself and how you may be able to use it as well 29:27 “Because creation is not linear, you can take content that was once free and turn it into a paid offer that’s organized and delivered in a succinct way to get maximum results for your client.” - Yong Pratt30:44 Inside Yong’s signature experience, Your Content Goldmine™, her six-month mentorship program coming up soon, you'll see bits and pieces of how she’s been able to ideate on her content. 0:01 I fell for it. Hook, line, and sinker. I was once drawn into the world where MORE became my motto. I wore it like a badge of honor. I was always striving to be more, do more and create more. I stopped listening to the many signs my body was telling me to slow down on my quest for more. Ignoring those signals, landed me in the hospital for test after test, and ultimately being sent home, hooked to a heart monitor for days. The allure of more is a strong force, and few make it out unscathed. In today's episode, I'm going to share how I've made it to the other side of more, and how I can help you do the same...but only if you're ready to embrace a world where less is the new norm? 1:44 Here at Amplify Your Awesome™, we help course creators and coaches ditch content overwhelm, tap into endless supplies of social media content, and make money from the content they've already created. 2:22 Today we're diving into Content Gold Mining versus "Gary Vee" style content repurposing. It's a question I've been getting a lot of lately, so I wanted to, well, set the record straight. 2:37 If you haven't already listened to the last episode number 333. The Myth of More, I highly recommend you press pause and take a listen to that tale before continuing with this episode at www.yongpratt.com/333 2:56 That time when Yong stood firmly in the belief that repurposing content was THE marketing strategy everyone needed to use…3:21 How Yong used 3 content repurposing automation tools to replace her full-time Virtual Assistant 3:42 When I talk about content repurposing, or the traditional "Gary Vee" style content repurposing the way it's talked about these days, here's what I mean. “Traditional, “Gary Vee” Style Content Repurposing the act of taking a large piece of content and extracting smaller chunks which you can then share.” - Yong Pratt4:18 Reason #1 for “Gary Vee” Style Content Repurposing Number one: it looks like you're everywhere. And number two: one can more easily establish their expertise by having more of these smaller pieces of content. 5:02 The reason why traditional “Gary Vee” style content repurposing is costing you money. 5:33 What you need in place to get hundreds of pieces of content6:12 Opportunity #1 Yong experienced by promoting and advocating for the use of 3 content repurposing tools 6:33 Opportunity #2 Yong experienced by promoting and advocating for the use of 3 content repurposing tools 7:10 That time when things started to crumble before Yong’s eyes 7:31 Some reasons why traditional “Gary Vee” style content repurposing didn’t work for my clients 8:15 The Two Myths Yong uses to describe traditional "Gary Vee" style content repurposing 8:41 The weight of Yong’s 1000s upon 1000s of pieces of content and its opportunity cost 9:42 The lesson Yong learned from training Freebie seekers and the money it cost 10:21 That time when Yong has months and months of social media posts pre-scheduled turned into social media dormancy 10:59 What Yong discovered during that social media dormancy 11:50 The tool Yong used to FINALLY be able to see all her beautiful content 12:45 What Yong recommends you do today with all YOUR awesome content 13:26 The patterns that emerged and the questions Yong began to ponder regarding her discovery 14:28 “Instead of focusing on transforming one piece of content into hundreds using the “Gary Vee” method of content repurposing, Content Gold Mining™ offers you many ways to monetize all your beautiful content.” - Yong Pratt 15:05 “Right now, at this moment, you have endless gifts you could offer to the world and get paid for doing so.” - Yong Pratt 15:24 Questions to ponder and experiment with starting today…15:32 What have you stopped creating content today? For a week? Or even a month? 15:38 What if you reinvested some of that creation time into unearthing the gold from your own content goldmine? 15:47 What if you could turn your massive amounts of content into endless streams of income? 15:55 What if you could tap into that Gold Mine every time you wanted or needed to:Take a family vacation Hire a virtual assistant to help you put systems in place so that you could sell all the content that you want unearth. Hire someone to clean your house, do yard work, prep your meals and so much more so that you could free up time to spend with those you love? What about retire your parents or spouse? And this is just the tip of the iceberg of what you could experience by mining for the gold in your content. 16:25 A testimonial Yong got after a Content Gold Mining Session with 1:1 Client, Susan""Wow, just wow. Yong certainly knows her stuff and the potency of content, namely your content. She quickly and effortlessly walks you through the value of your current content. She offers amazing options on delivering your hard work and talent found in your content and monetizing them as you offer your prospects irresistible offers. It's an emotional moment, when you realize your content can be massaged into other platforms to help others you must work with Yong."17:42 “Monetizing content is where traditional style or "Gary Vee" style content repurposing really misses the mark. Its real focus has been on visibility and exposure, neither of which is a guarantee for sales.” - Yong Pratt 18:42 Wouldn't your time be better spent monetizing the content you already have? 18:48 What if it didn't have to be either-or? 18:52 If you could create endless content for social media, and endless streams of income from the content you already have, without the overwhelm? Would you want to know how to do it? 19:06 You my friend absolutely deserve to have both! And the time to make it happen is now. Well, I have something special for you on today's episode of the In a Weekend Podcast.1:29 [Yong Pratt] I'm your host, Yong Pratt. It's my great pleasure to welcome you to this podcast, where we help you to simplify, to automate and to leverage the often hidden assets inside your business quickly.1:33 [Yong Pratt] On the last podcast, we talked all about using your transcriptions to create graphics and pull them out of text. And then we talked about how to use those texts and create some beautiful graphics. So today, our special guest is Nicole Thompson. She is a 28-year graphic design pro that has helped thousands of businesses really up their game as far as their branding. Today she's agreed to come share some of the secrets of the pros when it comes to creating those scroll-stopping graphics.2:21 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, welcome to the show.2:23 [Nicole Thompson] Hi, Yong. Thank you so much for having me here today. I'm excited to be here.2:27 [Yong Pratt] Absolutely. It's always my pleasure to get to connect with you or to talk with you. And of course, share the wealth of knowledge that you have about graphic design, and all the other amazing things like your podcast, with everybody who is listening to this episode. So Nicole, can you talk about some design fundamentals? Can we go back to the beginning when we talk about what makes good design from a 28 year design pro?3:02 [Nicole Thompson] Absolutely. Well, one of the biggest things that I see as a mistake that people make in creating the graphics for social media is they try to cram way too much copy on one little space. Because if you think about, say, your Instagram stories, you have these little blips of time that people are trying to hurry and read your text. And if you're giving them too much all in one bite, it's just too much to digest.3:32 [Nicole Thompson] So the one of the biggest tricks is to keep it really, really simple. You want to minimize the amount of text that you have, and try and get your message out in one fell swoop. So if you have a graphic that is going to be really bright and colorful, and you have a lot of things going on in your image, you don't necessarily want to have a ton of copy for people to try read at the same time. It just takes away from it.3:59 [Nicole Thompson] And when you confuse the eye, you're going to end up losing the interest.4:03 [Yong Pratt] Absolutely. I've heard that in different way...when you confuse people they always say no. So that's an interesting thought. So as far as creating beautiful graphics that go maybe on Instagram or your Facebook feed or elsewhere, are there rules to maybe the number of words you want to include on a single piece of an asset like that?4:26 [Nicole Thompson]There's not necessarily a rule of how many words you want to use. If you're going to say, use it for a story, I would recommend adding layers so that as the story progresses, they get to read more bit by bit, as the story continues through Instagram or Facebook.4:47 [Nicole Thompson] As far as a single graphic, if you're looking at it just in the news feed, you want something that's going to be easy to read. Something that's going to grab their attention and something they can get through quickly. Because the average attention span that we have nowadays is about three seconds. When that that scroll goes by and you're lucky if you get them to look that long.5:10 [Yong Pratt]Right. And I love that you brought up the point about being easy to read, because I'm one who loves a really a scripty font. I don't use them often, though, because if I have trouble reading them, and I know what they say. I'm sure that anyone who looks at probably thinks...come on, what does that even say?5:30 [Yong Pratt] So can we talk about how we use fonts when we think about creating, especially for social media?5:37 [Nicole Thompson] Yes, absolutely. Because I know exactly what you're talking about with scripty fonts. They're beautiful, they're gorgeous and they're really fun to use if you really want to get something pretty going and they're really tempting because they are pretty. But as soon as you start using more than say about three or four words in a script font, it shrinks down way too small.6:02 [Nicole Thompson] The average person is also looking at these social media feeds on their phone. So it's shrinking down to about two to three inches max that they're able to see this thing. Compile that with a background picture and you're going to lose people's interest. Because the second they start getting frustrated with not being able to decipher what it says, they're going to scroll on by.6:27 [Yong Pratt] And that's a really great thing you brought up as well - thinking about you have this device. When you're creating, before you put it out, is it advisable to look at on your phone to see how it looks before you put it on social media? So we know that it's not confusing, it's easy to read?6:45 [Nicole Thompson] Absolutely, absolutely. Because if you picture, you put something that's got 1000 words on it on a big bulletin board, people are going to be able to see that fine. But the second you shrink it down and you try to tell your whole story, in that one little blip of a image, you're you're just going to aggravate people and they're going to scroll away.7:08 [Yong Pratt] So true. And I have done that myself where if I look at something, especially on social, and I'm not there for any particular purpose, it's really easy to scroll by graphics that I'm sure people have invested a lot of money in or spent a lot of time creating. But they're not visually appealing. because, like you said, they're confusing. The script is not readable and there's just way too much busyness on it then I'll just keep scrolling.7:36 [Yong Pratt] So today is all about how do we stop the scroll?7:40 [Nicole Thompson] Exactly.7:42 [Yong Pratt] If we're going to boil down design, this is a big ask, if you were to boil down the idea of creating graphics that people really stop their scroll and stop to look at, can you give us maybe three or four sort of elements of what we want to be thinking about as we're designing?8:04 [Nicole Thompson] Absolutely, I'd be happy to. The key concept that I tend to teach is I call it give it a K-I-S-S. - Keep it super simple. So when you want to convey your message, you put it together in as brief a statement as possible. Get a nice pop of color. Not necessarily a busy graphic, but a nice pop of color. Make it super, super legible. And nice, clean, crisp, bold font.8:36 [Yong Pratt] Such good advice. So good. Because again, it's tempting, I know I love going into places like Canva, and there's so many options. And so many fonts and so many colors. And it's really easy to put too much in there. And then when that happens, it's just you know, people are swiping by or scrolling up. And, and we don't want anyone to not stop and look at what you're creating because if you're spending any kind of resources on this, we definitely want to try to really make it appealing and captivating for our audiences.8:43 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, is there a tool that you recommend? Maybe, maybe you are listening and they've never designed anything, they've always hired it out? Maybe they're tired of having to pay those really big bucks times? Or wait weeks and months? What do you recommend to start?9:32 [Nicole Thompson] Well, you've already said Canva is a great resource because you can either use their free version, or what I tend to gravitate towards is the Canva Pro, which is it's just got a lot more layers got lot more functionality to it. And it's not very expensive per month, it's really inexpensive to use. And there is just limitless options of what you can create. But again, I go back to saying all those options can be very tempting to want to use all at once. We've had to really show restraint. That is probably the key thing with any social media graphics is showing that restraint and pulling back. I know you have like a million things that you want to get out there, but you don't need to do it all in one graphic.10:21 [Yong Pratt] And that's a really, really great idea. Because on the series, we've talked about Multiplying Your Message. So if you have your transcript from an interview like this, like you've done, you can pull out several things that can be little tweets, little short, little snippets. And maybe you create five or even 10 from every single transcripts. That's far better, because now you have 10 pieces of content, or five or three. And again, you started with that one piece of video or audio content. And it's all about how do you get the most bang for your buck?11:03 [Nicole Thompson] Exactly.11:05 [Yong Pratt] If someone is scared about, about getting started, because again, they've never done this, they've never heard of Canva or they've heard of it and just have been intimidated by it, what words of wisdom can you share with them about just start because you never know what you're going to create until you start doing something?11:27 [Nicole Thompson] Exactly. It's It's so you're so right with that, Yong because if we never start, if we never put anything out there, we're never going to reach the people that we need to reach the people that are looking for what we have to offer. Because we all have something special that we we can share with the world something that we've learned how to do and we've mastered.11:51 [Nicole Thompson] But there may be just in the beginning stages, and they need to learn how to do this, but they don't know where where to turn to get started. And Canva is a very good way to do that. Because it is very easy to use. And yes, there's a lot of components to it there. There are several different sections that take a little finesse, learning how to do. But the basics are right there. They're easy for you as a lot of drag and drop. And it's a super simple program to get the hang of. And if you're, you're just starting out, you can get something out there. You can tweak it, you can play with it, you're never going to make a big mistake. Because I mean, in social media, we know it's gone and blink anyway. So it's always a good idea to at least get something up, get started and start getting your message out in front of you.12:47 [Yong Pratt] And you're a little tip to for all your parents or grandparents or, or anyone with kids in your life at all. Kids are really really adapt and learn quickly. My girls who are 15 and 12, they have been using Canva, now for a couple of years and they adore it. It is their go-to for graphics. My oldest actually has submitted some artwork for to STEM fairs. And she's won first place in both of those for digital design using Canva. So it really is a platform designed for anyone at any level. Yeah, absolutely.13:30 [Yong Pratt] And Nicole, I know you have something, you put something special together. Because when it comes to graphic design, it can feel overwhelming. It can feel intimidating. And I know for me personally, when I get that point of overwhelm, you kind of tend to walk away. And sometimes I don't always come back. And we want to make sure, if you're listening to this podcast, you're watching this video, we don't want that to happen to you. Nicole, can you share what you have created to help people overcome those initial steps of just starting?14:04 [Nicole Thompson] Absolutely. I created a course called Designer in a Day. And what it teaches is the basics of getting started with Canva Pro. It's taught on the desktop version, because yes, there is a mobile version, which is a little glitchy. So we tend to stick to the desktop version. But Designer to Day teaches the basics of Canva and it gets you really from beginning starting right from learning the core values of graphic design, the four pillars of graphic design, and moving up through actually designing a graphic right alongside me.14:42 [Nicole Thompson] And then it goes into a deep dive where I go into designing letterheads and book covers. And podcast covers and Facebook page covers for that. And, gosh there's really no limit once you get started the infographics. Like you had mentioned pulling the snippets out of your messages, your live videos and such. It really there's there's no limit to what you can do once you can get the basics mastered.15:13 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, thank you for mentioning podcasts and ebooks, because if you are the longtime listener of this podcast, you know that those things are my passions to help people create these amazing assets, all with less work, and faster than you thought possible.15:31 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, in addition to doing things like ebooks and podcast covers, what else can people use to create within Canva.15:41 [Nicole Thompson] A lot of people don't even realize that I'm sure you've seen a social media, you see the different ads for the printed t-shirts with all the fun sayings on them. You can create those graphics in Canva, and actually upload the right to the different print on demand services and create your own little business right out of that.16:01 [Yong Pratt] That is so good. Now I know my girls would really, really love to do that. So parents listening or grandparents listening, this could be a really great thing to do together to show your kids how they can turn their ideas into tangible things and start their own side business which could grow and scale as they need. Summer's right around the corner and I know a lot of kids are out there looking for part-time jobs. And I know my oldest struggles with that because she doesn't turned 16 until the middle of summer. So getting a job when summers halfway over is going to be tough. So if she can create these t-shirts, and do print on demand, that's another way she can start funding her own adventure. So thank you for sharing that.16:50 [Nicole Thompson] Absolutely. And you know, another cool thing to you actually, when you said funding You made me think of it. These are great options for creating fundraisers. It's great for teachers. It's great for family reunions. You can you can use this on so many levels, and you're not paying a designer or buying designs that you have to wait for forever. Graphic design services can be extremely expensive. And sometimes it's not easy to get your design conveyed over to the designer in just one shot, then you're paying for revisions, too.17:25 [Yong Pratt] Oh, so good. And I know in your other business, you do things like this, you create these promotional products. And I think that's a really cool thing to be able to do. And you know, we're set up. When I had my performing arts school, it was getting really costly. The setup fee alone to do one single run of a commemorative t-shirt. I mean, would run upwards of 100 plus dollars just to do the setup. And that's with me designing it. And you know, so definitely this is a way to save some money for sure if you have any kind of waiting for design. Or if you just bring your kiddos on board and let them run with it and just give them that encouragement that they need to start creating something that they're excited about.18:13 [Nicole Thompson] Definitely.18:15 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, I want to make sure that people can connect with you if have questions about Designer in a Day, or maybe your podcast or any of your other businesses. Can you tell us where to find you?18:27 [Nicole Thompson] Yeah, I'm located on all the social media channels, I can typically be found under Nicole Thompson now. That's usually the tagline I go by. On Instagram is Nicole Thompson dot now. But you can find my website at NicoleThompsonNow.com. You can learn all about Designer in a Day and any of my upcoming courses that I'm offering. My podcast is available through there. My podcast is called Build Your Wealth. And that's where I talk about how you can actually learn how to start your own business. And you don't have to be stuck in the nine to five grind.19:02 [Yong Pratt] So, so good. And definitely after this video is done, I'll have you come back in and put those resources down below because I want to make sure people have access to you because it's not often, especially in the online space, we meet people who have the wealth of knowledge that you have, specifically with graphic design, Nicole. I want to thank you for sharing your wisdom with us today. This is an episode you may want to go back and listen to it again. And if you have someone you think could benefit, definitely tell them about this podcast. Let them know all the cool stuff that we can create here, far easier and far faster than you ever thought possible.19:43 [Yong Pratt] Nicole, thank you so much.19:44 [Nicole Thompson] Thank you for having me. [0:01] Today on episode 220 of the In A Weekend Podcast, we're going to talk about how to Multiply Your Message by creating Audiograms.[0:13] Thank you for tuning in today to this episode. My name is Yong Pratt, your host and the Chief Dreamer of the In a Weekend Series of Classes where we help you to simplify, to automate, and to leverage the often hidden assets (like your kiddos) inside your business quickly.[0:37] This is part five of a series called Multiply Your Mesage. If you haven't listened to the previous episodes, I highly recommend you head back and do so. I'll link all of those episodes up on the show notes for today's podcast at YongPratt.com/220.[1:01] Let's start at the top.[1:03] What the heck is an audio gram?[1:08] An audiogram is simply a little mini video clip. In that video, you'll see a still image. On top of that still image, you will have a little wav form or a little bar that moves up and down to show you that a video is playing. It can also include the transcripts or the text that we created on a previous episode. All of that happens in one singular little video clip, and they are awesome.[1:44] You've likely seen these across social media, where a podcaster, for instance, would have a still image of the cover art of their podcast. On top of that, the waveform moves up and down as you play the audio[2:00] There could be text on the bottom of the video as a transcript as well. So whether people learn auditorilly, whether they learn visually, or whether they learn best by looking at words on the screen, you've hit three of those different learning modalities with one little video clip.[2:22] Did I say those were good or what?[2:25] To create these, I've been testing out a piece of software that I absolutely adore. It is literally one of my favorite pieces of software that I use every single day. And by using it, I actually replaced a full time virtual assistant, saving me tons of money, as well as time.[2:47] I first introduced this tool back on episode number 214. On today's show notes, you can definitely be linked directly to this piece of software called Repurpose. And it does exactly what the name implies it repurposes your content.[3:06] Of course in my world, when I refer to repurposing, it's all about Multiplying Your Message - turning that one singular piece of content in to multiple. With Repurpose, one of the many, many, many things it can do for you automatically, without you touching anything is to create these audiograms for you.[3:32] Now when you go to the show notes for today's page, I will put some examples on the page for you so you can see what is created with Repurpose.[3:42] I want you to do something for me today, I want you to click on the Repurpose icon that I'll have on the [shownotes] page and go get yourself a free two-week trial of the software. And trust me you will not be disappointed. If you choose is to invest in this tool, which is a mere $20 a month, which is literally what...maybe four fancy coffees a month 20 bucks. You can use this software in your business every day.[4:13] When you choose to invest in it, message me on Facebook, or on Instagram and let me know because when you use my link to purchase this ongoing membership, you can I will actually send you some video content to help you get started quickly and easily using Repurpose because once you get in there into the software, you're totally going to be hooked and that $20 a month will be the best $20 a month you will ever spend.[4:50] Next time on the podcast, we're going to talk about how to turn your message into another form. And that is through images.[5:02] We're going to talk about how to turn your text in to some beautiful images. And we'll have a special guest next week as well who may know a thing or two about creating beautiful graphics for you to share across social media as well as everywhere else.[5:24] Okay, my friends, go and check out Repurpose. Get your 14 day free trial just had to yong pratt.com/220 and start Repurposing to Multiply Your Message today. CheersThis post may contain affiliate links. [0:12] Now that you've turned your video into audio for your podcast, and you've learned about turning that audio into a transcript to be used in multiple different ways, what else can we do with that text?[0:28] Well today here on episode number 219 of the In a Weekend Podcast, we're going to talk about turning text into quotes.[0:39] Are you ready to dive in?[0:42] If you're new around here, my name is Yong Pratt. I'm the Creator of the In a Weekend Series of classes where we help people just like you to simplify, to automate, and to leverage the often hidden assets in your business quickly and easily.[1:02] One of the most often overlooked assets, inside, any business are kids - in your family or your neighbors kids.[1:12] Kids can definitely play a really critical role in helping you leverage your business in a big way. And you can be a mentor to them and show them the possibilities that exist for them now in this digital age.[1:28] Today we're talking about turning that transcript that we created back in episode, 216, and pulling out some quotes.[1:39] Why would we do this?[1:41] Well, being able to quote yourself and to quote your guests really differentiates you in the marketplace. I'm sure that you've seen lots of quotes in your social media feeds, and they're often attributed to really famous people - whether they're authors or speakers or luminaries. they're attributed to other people.[2:03] Being able to quote yourself and your guests, really elevates you to a different level. And it demonstrates that you have interesting things to say and people should pay attention to you.[2:16] Am I right?[2:18] You're all creating amazing content for your businesses and in this series all about Multiplying Your Message, we're really talking about ways you can use one piece of content in different capacities, so that you can really reach people on different levels.[2:36] We started the series with creating a video.[2:39] We turned that video into audio to use on things like your podcast.[2:43] We turned your audio into a transcript, which you can use in many different ways, including closed captioning on your videos as well as a blog, and a book.[2:56] Now today, we're talking about really just taking a few moments, going through those transcripts, and pulling out quotes.[3:06] Now if this is not something that you actively want to do, this is something your kiddos can absolutely do it for you.[3:13] In fact, both of my daughters do this for me in my business, as well as doing it for other people in theirs. They're going through their transcripts, cleaning them up to use on websites and they're also cleaning them up and pulling out interesting tidbits. These quotes or quotable pieces of content can be used in multiple different ways.[3:40] Let me give you some practical examples.[3:43] You can go through and pull up quotes from yourself or your guests and you can post them as text posts across social media.[3:51] You can also put them in places like your email signature so every time someone gets an email from you, they see an interesting quote from you or a guest the how on your show.[4:03] You can put them on your website as kind of call out or stand out text to really give people a sense of what you have to offer, and how much you have to offer.[4:15] Pulling out these text quotes has so many ways that you can use them inside of your business.[4:21] I cannot wait to see how you're going to using your quotes.[4:26] I'd love for you to post your quotes over on Instagram and then tag me @theyongpratt so I can see the quotes that you and your guests are creating and sharing with the world.[4:41] So the takeaway today is:[4:43] Number one. We've taken one singular piece of content and turned it into two multiple. Today's idea of pulling out quotes is one of those ways to multiply your own message.[4:57] Number two: This is a really quick and easy tip that your kids can absolutely help you in creating. Empower them by showing them how to use some of this technology.[5:10] I will link up all of the previous episodes in the Multiply Your Message series on the show notes for today's post over at YongPratt.com/219 so you can learn about all of the tools that I use to create these many pieces of content.[5:32] Stay tuned for next week's episode where we're going to dive into turning your text into an audiogram - a cool graphic video. A little mini clip of those quotes that you can share on social media.[5:50] I look forward to catching you all next week. Cheers, my friends.Ready to Multiply YOUR Message? And since I will be doing all of this live, if I miss your question on the live, definitely pop them down below under the comments of this video and I will personally come back and answer all of those for you.[2:34] Okay, my friends, are you ready to dive in?[2:39] This is a question that I've gotten a lot lately and I think because more people are becoming aware of podcasts, and there's lots more to be enjoyed out in the world and tons more platforms on which we can listen to podcasts, the popularity is definitely on the rise.[2:59] It's definitely kind of the Golden Age of podcasts where listenership is on the rise, the number of shows is also on the rise. NOW is definitely the best time to start. Of course yesterday would have been better, however, there's no time like the present to get started sharing your message with the world.[3:23] Okay, question number one that I received via email was: How do I choose a topic?[3:30] And this is a really big question I'm asked all the time - choosing a topic for a podcast. If you head to a place like iTunes or even to Spotify these days or to Pandora, there are tons of different shows available about pretty much everything under the sun.[3:51] If you're in the health and wellness space there are certainly tons of podcasts in that space. If you're in the business space, in the parenting space, or maybe you have a smaller kind of niche. It's all available via podcast. Because people are always on the go these days, a podcast is really one of the best tools that we can all have as marketers.[4:16] Yep, I said it, we're all marketers. You're a business owner, you're a parent, you're doing a lot of different things out in the world, but at our core we all need to be able to market our message and really share what it is that we want to get across to people, whether those people are the people that we serve as our clients. Maybe they're our students. Maybe they're our own kids. Maybe if we're still working at nine to five, it's our bosses or our superiors that we need to be able to market and position ourselves in the right way to help us move down the path that we are desiring at that point.[4:57] So choosing a topic. How do you do that?[5:00] Well, I want you to pull out a pen and piece of paper or if you're listening on the phone on your phone, go ahead and maybe open up the notes, tab, so you can jot down a few things.[5:25] The first question is: What do people ask you all the time?[5:32] Everyone, it doesn't really matter what we do in our lives, there are likely questions people always ask us about something that comes easily to us. And what happens to most of us is that we discount those things because they are easy. And over the past couple of weeks we've been really diving into this idea of Multiplying Your Message and how it doesn't have to be so hard.[5:59] So in the coming weeks, just know I have lots of information for you on this idea of easy. We love to help people, simplify things in their lives and businesses are often over complicated. So, the word easy is sometimes a four letter word for lots of people, myself included.[6:23] When I first learned some of these easy ways to do things, it felt like I was cheating because I have learned in life and watch my parents work really hard to provide for the family who put in a lot of effort for usually a small amount of pay on the other side.[6:42] They worked really hard, and the idea of working hard and putting a lot of effort to get the result that I want was sort of an ingrained thing so trust me when I say, simplifying is definitely the way to go about things because when things are simple, they're easy to understand, and it's easier for us to get our message out into the world.[7:06] So that's number one. What do people ask you all the time, including the things that come easily to you?[7:15] For example, people ask me a lot about podcasting. People ask me also about including my kids in a business because that's something that my girls do with me. I train them on many, many different skills in order for them to be able to do that. And I'm also asked:[7:36] How can I possibly get out so much information in such with such a short span of time? What they're really asking is, why are they seeing me everywhere across social and in their feeds, no matter where they are, they're seeing it. They want to know about that idea of multiplying.[7:57] So for me, those are topics that I now talk about on this podcast and on this page, so we can really kind of flip the switch, and do things in a more simplistic and easy way to get them done more joyfully.[8:14] So again, thinking about what are questions people ask you all the time. Go ahead and write some of those down on your piece of paper or if you're in your car or out walking when you're listening to this podcast, definitely make a mental note to come back and answer these questions, because it can really help you to determine the things you may want to podcast about when you launch your own show.[8:42] Question number two and this goes back to the EASY thing - what things are easy for me to do?[8:51] Am I able to break complicated complex things down in an easy way and share that with people, maybe that comes easily to you - go ahead and write that down. Are you able to create relationships quickly and easily? Are you able to help your kids really be empowered in easy way?[9:27] Question number three you could ask yourself is: What do I dream about?[9:34] We're all gifted with the ability to dream really big and really think of ways that can impact others and change people's lives or make the world a better place. We all have that within us, and sometimes those dreams can feel really big, and really scary. I get it, it's totally common nature. And when we are thinking about those, sometimes we often hold ourselves back from moving into those dreams because they feel too big, they feel too daunting they feel too scary.[10:12] Just a little bit of tough love here that if things feel a little bit scary and you're feeling trepidation about them, that's likely the next step you need to make to grow your circle of comfort. If you stay inside your comfort zone, kind of everything revolves around here as soon as you start pushing that comfort zone bigger and bigger and bigger, where you start stepping outside of that comfort zone. Those are the times in your life that things really start to happen. The momentum starts to grow and things really start moving towards those big dreams. So, your dreams and the vision you have for your life or other people's lives, or making the world a better place - those more grandiose things are absolutely topics you can talk about on your podcast.[11:00] So those are three questions you can really ask yourself when you are considering topics for your podcast.[11:10] And I'll just put in one more as well just kind of as a bonus, and that's: What do you love to do?[11:18] Outside of work, perhaps you have hobbies and things that you enjoy doing in your spare time that you'd love to share with others, or let them know about because it's so much fun. That can definitely also be a topic or topics for your podcast. Since we're on this topic, let's kind of talk about the question that I get a lot about.[11:43] Does my podcast, have to be related to my business?[11:46] This is kind of a hard question to answer directly so I'll just say, maybe. A podcast is a platform for people to get to know, like, and trust us from afar. We get to guide them along this journey that we're taking. And when we do that, people often will come in at different points, and really come to understand what it is we're trying to do.[11:51] So maybe if you have a hobby, it could be related to your business but it doesn't have to be. Because again, if you think about podcast, as being a place where you can send people to get to know, like, and trust you, you can definitely send them to your podcast, to share about the things that you love.[12:31] So there you have it - there are some ways to help you choose a topic for your podcast. If YOU have a topic that you're really, really excited about, I want to know about it. Put it in the comments down below whether here on Facebook, or over on our website, yongpratt.com/218. I will comment back to you personally, and we can even have a conversation about the topic that you want to podcast about because I'm here to the tell you all that YOU all have something in your life right now - in your experiences, in the stories that you've had throughout your life - there is something that can benefit someone else, and that's definitely one of the top reasons why you would want to even podcast - To help other people who are going through something you've been able to overcome, a challenge you've been able to overcome in a positive manner. Or maybe you share about the bumps in the road that you've had. We all have this message within us that would help other people.[12:31] When I first started my podcast way back in 2013, that's the reason I wanted a podcast. I was passionate about, kids, and learning and really, I was feeling so badly for these kids who are in a school system and they're getting labeled incorrectly because they can't take the test properly. They're not doing well in school because they just don't test well and it was breaking my heart to hear these stories over and over and over again.[14:04] I took a passion that I learned about in graduate school and I put it together on this podcast. I started sharing with my own community, in my own local area, in my performing arts school, and quickly that that topic was one that was picked up by people literally across the world, which I wasn't even aware, there was an audience for that. So when you start from your passions and the things you love and the things you want other people to know about that can benefit them, that's a really great reason to start a podcast.[14:46] One of the next questions is: What equipment do I need to start my podcast?[14:54] Well, my friends, I'm here to say that podcasting doesn't need to be as hard as some people make it. There are lots of different experts in this area of podcasting and we all kind of have our own different unique experience on it. Mine is about simplicity and taking fast action. So when I first started talking to my students I talked about using a device that you probably right now have sitting next to you, or it's in your back pocket or near you, in some capacity and that is this.[15:33] This smartphone that allows us to waste a lot of time. Some days on just scrolling through social media mindlessly looking at other people's stuff, is the same tool that we all have access to that we can start sharing our message via a podcast or via video like this, with the world.[15:57] Inside of Podcast in a Weekend, something that I really advocate, is starting with video. When you start with video, you can start to Multiply Your Message, in a really simplistic way using some cool automation tools. We start with live video or even pre-recorded video and then we learn to transform it into, audio, which of course is the way that we listened to a podcast it's an audio program. And then from there we can really Quantum Leap our message and really start to multiply what we're offering to the world, in many, many different forms.[16:42] If this is a new concept to you, definitely make sure you head back to the podcast and listen to some previous episode where we talked about the idea of Multiplying Your Message and how it can be done faster and easier than you thought possible.[16:58] Most of it can even be automated these days which is so cool. Inside of Podcas In A Weekend, it's something that I help my students to discover that when they Multiply Their Message and turn ONE great piece of content like a video into an audio, they can automatically reach more people because there are different people who are listening to those different platforms.[17:24] Some people like video content. Other people prefer audio content. Maybe other people prefer text. Those are all things that you can create from single video and we cover that in great detail inside of Podcast in a Weekend. It's the portion of the class that most of my students, stop and say, Wow! I had no idea I could do that. And when they implement these tools and strategies with their podcast, they can actually create more content in less time, starting with one thing, every week.[18:00] It seems totally backwards, I know. That is just the feedback I get from my students because they are thrilled to know that podcasting doesn't have to be one more thing. You're going to do something like a video probably for your business already, so why not turn that into another format, and you can do it all with this device, your smartphone. I would just recommend that you use the use of a microphone or at least the headphone microphone that came with your phone to record, so you can cut out some of that background noise that happens when we're out in public or in different places.[18:47] Now, and I want to talk about number three people say they want to podcast they asked: Why do I want to podcast Now? In the beginning of this episode, we talked about the number of podcasts are increasing, the number of listeners are increasing, and it's kind of really the golden age of getting into podcasting. And of course, again yesterday was a better view starting today, however, start where you are and move forward.[19:16] Start by picking up your device. Start by popping those headphone microphones in to your device and start sharing your story. That's really as simple as podcasting is.[19:30] And there's lots of ways you can then take that audio even and turn it into all sorts of different formats to really Multiply Your Message.[19:40] Here's what I'm going to recommend. I recommend that you head over to YongPratt.com/myths and get instant access to last week's workshop. It's the Encore presentation of that workshop. Tune in to find out what the top three myths of podcasting are and if you are claiming any of those in your life as reasons to not podcast because it's time for the world to hear your message! It's time for the world to hear your message in all sorts of different formats, because we're able to take one piece of content and turn it into multiple.[20:23] Before I hopped on this live, I actually pulled a card. Not a tarot card. It's this deck of cards called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind card by T Harv Eker. It's an interesting one because it's all about how to cultivate a Millionaire Mind, and the card that I pulled was, "Focus on contribution."[20:49] On the back it says, your life isn't just about you. If you want to be rich in the truest sense of the word, you must contribute to other people's lives. And that my friends is exactly what a podcast enables you to do quickly and easily.[21:12] I want to thank you so much for tuning into this live Q&A. If you do have more questions, pop them down below this video here on Facebook or over on our website, yongpratt.com/218 so I can make sure to get your questions about podcasting, answered.[21:29] If you're ready to launch your podcast type ME in the comments below, and I'll let you know how we can make that happen in as little as a weekend.[21:43] Alright, my friends, I hope that was helpful for you. Definitely go take a listen to that free training I have for you at YongPratt.com/myths. Pop your questions down below, and then let me know if you are ready to start to Multiply Your Message with your very own podcast.[22:02] I will catch you all next time. Cheers. [0:03] Hey, hey, and welcome to this BONUS episode of the In a Weekend Podcast. This is episode number 217, and I'm your host, Yong Pratt. On this podcast, we help you to simplify, to automate, and to leverage the often hidden assets inside your life and business quickly.[0:28]Today's bonus episode is a story for you. Before I dive into the story, though, I want to make sure that you can get access to our workshop that we did last week, all about the Top 3 Podcasting Myths and you better believe we busted those bad boys, because, more than anything, the top three reasons I share on the workshop, stop more with the podcasters in their tracks than any others that I've heard.[1:02] You can get instant access to the Encore presentation, just by heading over to YongPratt.com/myths. Are you have to do is enter your name and email address, and you can watch the replay when it's convenient for you. And trust me, this is by far the most popular workshop we have done it to date.[1:29] I have been getting a ton of comments and questions all about these myths because people were definitely buying into these, and it's stopped them from podcasting which is such a shame because you and I both know that you, my friend, have a message to share. You've gone through experiences, hardships, and challenges. You've overcome them and now can help people on their journey into whatever that thing is.[2:03] Literally, I'm here to tell you that there is a podcast about every topic under the sun and yours is no exception. It is absolutely time for you to get your podcast out into the world and I want you to start by going to watch the instant replay of the Encore at YongPratt.com/myths. That's M-Y-T-H-S. You can just leave your name and email and get an instant access to that workshop.[2:35] Okay, so let's dive in to his story. Now this is a little bit of a spoiler alert...But one thing that stops, more people from podcasting than any other that I hear again and again and again and again. Well, you get it.[2:55] It's time.[2:57] So many people tell me they don't have time to podcast. They don't have enough hours in the day as it is. So adding one more thing to their growing to do list, seems like the impossible dream.[3:14] Then if they can get past that thought, their next thought goes right to my gosh, how much more time, is this going to take me? How much more do I have to sacrifice time with my kids and my family and my friends in order to make this thing happen?[3:34] Well, my friends, I'm here to tell you that podcasting, doesn't have to be as time consuming, as you may think...[3:42] And today's success story comes from Nicole Thompson. Nicole is host of the Build Your Wealth Podcast. She was in my very first season of Podcast, in a Weekend. If you don't know about Podcast in a Weekend, it's literally a class for you walk you step-by-step to setting up and launching your podcast in as little as a weekend.[4:11] Now when you watch the replay of the workshop, you'll hear more about it and what is included. I wish someone had created this class for me, way back when I started podcasting because it took me forever. Yes, I did find an expert in the area, and go to a class but it still took a very long time to launch.[4:35] And that's one of my biggest frustrations as a business owner and as a busy mom - time definitely was a factor for me until I figured out some of the cool ninja tools, and hacks that I teach my students, inside of Podcast in a Weekend to make it super simple. To make it super fast. And to make it super easy to launch your podcast.[5:04] Now this is totally going to blow you away...Nicole actually reached out to me in four hours. That's right. Four hours into this weekend class, she reached out and said, I finished. I just submitted my podcast to all the major platforms and I'm done. Now, I get to go record more episodes![5:28] Well, you can just imagine my shock because I was thinking this was going to take them the entire weekend long. And I had a ton of students complete it in that time. She was the first one, though, to reach out and said, four hours. In less than half a day, I launched my podcast. Now I'm not going to make you wait any longer. Here is Nicole's story:[5:50] My name is Nicole Thompson. I'm the host of the Build Your Wealth Podcast. Having my own podcast has been something that I've envisioned doing for several years now. But every time I try to research it, it seemed very overwhelming and confusing.[6:07] Podcast in a Weekend has by far been the absolute best online class that I have ever taken. Yong's teaching method is clear and precise. Each video tutorial is super short and packs a huge punch with easy to follow step-by-step instructions that produce a win win every single one.[6:29] The course is called Podcast in a Weekend, but I was able to take it from start to finish in less than one day, and by the end of that day, I had a live podcast. Podcast in a Weekend took a rather intimidating topic, and made it so super simple that a grade schooler could follow the steps to creating your own podcast.[6:55] If you ever considered having your own podcast, but you get lost in the tech of it, you need to take Podcast in a Weekend. You'll be a podcaster in the blink of an eye.[7:07] Oh my goodness!!! What do you think about that? Being able to get in, take some massive action and get your podcast done in less than a day. That is absolutely what is possible for you inside of Podcast in a Weekend. And if you want more details about that, go watch the replay over at YongPratt.com/myths and then reach out to me for any more questions. I hope you are as inspired as I am that YOU can create a podcast in as little as a weekend. I'll catch you on the next episode. Cheers! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
[0:03 Now that you've turned your video content into audio content, what else can you do with that content?[0:11] Well today we're going to dive in to the third piece of our five part framework to talk about how and why you want to turn your video and audio in to text.[0:25 ]Are you ready to dive in?[0:28] Welcome to the In A Weekend Podcast where we help you Simplify, Automate, and Leverage the often hidden assets (like your kids) in your business. I'm your host, Yong Pratt, and I am thrilled you are tuning in today.[0:46] If you happened to miss any of the previous episode where we talked about audio and video, you definitely want to go back and listen to get a full picture of all the steps that we go through for all of our content.[1:03] If you haven't already grabbed our free five part framework, you can do so on today's show notes at yongpratt.com/216.[1:16] Today we're going to talk about text, and three ways you can use text that you get from your audio and video content.[1:28] The three reasons, you want to turn your audio or video into text are:[1:35] Closed captioning; Creating blog posts; and Creating a book.[1:43] Now if that doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will because the idea of taking one piece of content and multiplying it and not really doing any more work is super exciting! When I first learned about repurposing and multiplying my message, I honestly felt like I was cheating because it was so easy once I found the right tools, and the right mentors.[2:12] I had this vision that business and everything that was worth accomplishing needed to be really hard, and had to be a struggle. But once I discovered this idea of multiplying and really transforming one thing into many, my life changed completely. My business change completely. And now I get to spend more time doing the things that I love like being here on the podcast with you.[2:38] A lot of what happens to multiply the message we have here is done automatically. Now if you want to know what tools I'm using, you can definitely go back and listen to the podcast that come before this, and I will link them up in the show notes, so you can take them right there, take some notes and dive into some of these tools that we use every single day.[3:05] Why text? I've shared that there are three reasons why you want to transform your video and audio into text, and we're going to start with number one: Closed captioning.[3:18] Did you know that up to 70% of people watch their videos with the sound off?[3:26] I know. I was totally blown away when I saw that stat because I like to listen to the person on the video. However, these days, a lot of people are watching videos at work, which I don't advocate by the way, or they're watching them at night when their family is in bed. They don't want to disrupt that portion of their day or their other family members, so they're listening now with the volume off.[3:56] So say someone comes to your video and there's no captions. People may actually click away because they want to read what you have to say.[4:11] I think most of us are missing out on the opportunity to reach more people and make a bigger impact because we are actually not using captions on our videos.[4:24] Now if you are a fan of Facebook Live, like I am, this step can actually be done for you by Facebook.[4:33] When you go to edit your video after you've recorded it, you can actually turn on the closed captioning. I do have to say that for me because I speak quickly, the captions are sometimes quite comical because what Facebook thinks I said is not really what I said so I have to go in there and do a bit of cleanup.[4:56] For that reason, I actually choose to use another tool which is absolutely free. One of my new favorite tools, and I'm going to share with you at the end of this podcast, how you can get your hands on this tool because it has really changed the way that I view transcriptions, and how I can now use my text with the least effort on my part after that.[5:22] So that's number one. You want to be able to transform your video or audio into text to create those closed captions, which can go on your videos on Facebook and on YouTube.[5:36] Number two: Once you have your transcription you have a closed caption. You can actually go through and do a little bit of light editing on that text and turn it into a blog post. Now I know lots of people tell me they want to start a blog, but they're not good writers, they don't have time. I've been blogging this way for quite some time now, and it has really, really tightened up the amount of time that I'm spending blogging.[6:07] I do of course, spend some time on other blog posts that are not video connected. However, a lot of our blog posts on our website are actually the cleaned up transcriptions with some punctuation and put into beautiful paragraphs. So it looks like a blog post.[6:28] All right. Number three. The third way you can use the text, the transcription from your videos and audios, is to compile them all into a book.[6:42] Did you catch that? A book.[6:45] Now when I first thought about writing a book I had this vision in my head about sitting at my desk and spending hours and hours, staring at a blank screen with the cursor flashing and mocking me the whole time. And today when I think about writing a book, it's about how can I make a video and transcribe it? And then once it's transcribed, I can actually put a book together pretty quick.[7:14] Now this was the exact process that I just went through a couple weeks ago I was in Dallas, at his #bizbesties retreat. I had the opportunity to do three talks, or three presentations. All of those have since been transcribed. Two of them are actually the basis for my second book. Now there is still some editing and organizing of the book to do, but literally, I spoke, my book into existence.[7:46] That my friends is exciting! Starting with one piece of content (a video or audio), transcribing it, using it for closed captions, using it for a blog post, and creating a book out of one thing that is totally mind blowing![8:04] I hope you are as excited as I am about all the things you can do by spending time on this great piece of content each week, and then Multiplying Your Message, by listening to this podcast and taking action on the steps.[8:25] Tomorrow, I'm hosting a free live workshop, all about the Top 3 Myths, I hear from would-be podcasters that prevent them from starting. Well, we are going to bust through these myths and show you how you can overcome them in this live workshop.[8:46] If you want to join me, head over to yongpratt.com/216, and you can get access right there. If you're not able to make it live, don't worry, there will be a replay. You just need to get registered, so that I can send out the replay to you via email.[9:06] Okay, my friends, I look forward to the next episodes where we're going to dive into more of this five part framework, so that you can work smarter, not harder to Multiply Your Message and make a bigger impact in a faster, easier, and more joyful way. I'll catch you next time. Cheers. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

I wanted to make sure that I shared that here with you especially as we head into the holiday season, things get really really busy so I wanted 1. to keep these episodes really short and really bite-sized for you as we go into a very busy time of year and 2. because we're getting close to Thanksgiving. This is sort of a way for us to take some time and reflect and be grateful for our kids be grateful for who they are and to really be grateful for the people that we know they're going to be as they grow. So, over the next four weeks I will be sharing one little mini bite-sized pieces with you on our What If Wednesday series. If you have questions about any of the things we talked about on the What If series, you can head over to a different Facebook page, and as you may remember we are going to be presenting some amazing new changes in 2018 and one of the things we're going to do is to merge two of our Facebook pages. I currently have a Facebook page for my Performing Arts Academy and a separate one for the podcast. At the time, that made a ton of sense to be able to keep them separate. But because the information that we share on the podcast and they guests that we bring on, the information they're sharing is so, so good that I wanted to make sure that if you're part of the Academy, you get to enjoy the podcast as well. So, as we head into the last few weeks of 2017, we're going to start putting things over on another Facebook page which is currently called Elko Arts Academy. So if you're a local to me, that name will make sense because it's the location where I first opened up my studio 17 years ago. Ifyou're not local to me, no worries. The things we're going to be sharing on that page going into 2018 are relevant for parents of creators. And all kids are born creators-it's just a matter of nurturing that habit of creativity. nurturing and allowing time for creativity in your home and helping kids and equipping them with skills where they can literally create their own brighter futures. With that being said, here's episode number one of What If Wednesday. Cheers! Hey Academy families and future Academy families. I'm Yong Pratt and if I haven't met you yet, I am the founder and director of Academy of the Arts, the author of raising a superhero: how to unleash your child's eight super powers and propel learning through the Arts, and I'm the host of the weekly podcast Raising SmART Kids 2.0. well, it's t-minus two and a half weeks for most kids here in Elko and Spring Creek until school officially begins. Do you have a plan of your kids activities? Are you looking for activities to engage your child's body and their mind? Well, here at the academy we're starting a new weekly series called What If Wednesday and today I have some questions for you. What if you could envision the perfect activities for your child after school? what would they look like? What would your kids learn? Where would they be held? How often would your kids enjoy these activities? These are just a few of the questions I'm curious to know more about and you can just comment below this video and tell me more about what you're looking for. Here at the Academy, we believe that every student that walks through our doors has untapped super powers and together with you we've been put on this planet to help you unleash those super powers and find the right art form to do so if you have questions about classes or want to participate in our What If Wednesday series, I invite you to comment below and I would be happy to reach out to you to talk more about the types of activities that you're looking for for your kids. Over the past 16 years we've helped thousands of families just like yours unleash your kids' special superpowers and we use the arts as a vehicle to help teach kids confidence, instill leadership and teach them about serving their communities and using their talents to do so. Okay my friends, I am gonna hop off now but I want you to think about and comments below What If Wednesday. Today the question is What if you could envision your child's perfect after-school activities? what would they be? When would they meet? How often would they meet and what skills and life skills would you want for your child to learn throughout their experiences? comment below and I will connect with you here on Facebook or I'll give you a call personally.
