Many franchisors host what is often know as a "Discovery Day" or "Meet The Team Day." Some are optional and some are required, depending on the Franchisor. In any case, it is an opportunity to travel to the franchise headquarters, meet their management team and get a more in-depth view of the business and the support. In today's episode we will do a deep dive and discuss what you should get out of it, how to prepare, and what the outcomes can be after these events. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dointhething/message

Post-pandemic, Gartner Research study found that only 17% of the time companies spend making B2B buying decisions involves sales. Further, 69 to 80% of all businesses surveyed prefer Digital Self-Service to in-person sales presentations. Traditional go-to sales strategies such as cold-calls, cold emails and in-person meetings are no longer as effective as they were back in the Glen Garry Glen Ross days of "Always Be Closing." New KPIs matter, such as Time to Emotional Connection. Prospect onboarding must be intelligently structured and consistently improved upon. In today's post-pandemic digital age, to achieve consistent double-digit growth we must let go of our "Always Be Closing" strategies in favor of "Always Be Re-Imagining." --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dointhething/message

You've heard the expression, "wherever you go, there you are." These words hold no greater meaning than when you are considering a career change or have been displaced from your company and seeking new opportunities. Today Jason and Phil explore NFT's together. Please know this is not investment advice, but a high level educational episode to help others (and ourselves) understand what this strange expensive digital concept actually is! Show notes are below: The total market capitalization of crypto and NFT's is 1.4 trillion dollars - jp morgan and Bank of America are creating their own financial teams on this Forbes definition of an NFT: Most simply, an NFT is an entry on a blockchain, the same decentralized digital ledger technology that underlies cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. But unlike most bitcoin–which is fungible, meaning that one coin is essentially indistinguishable from another and equivalent in value–tokens on these blockchains are non-fungible. Block Chain : A blockchain is a distributed database that is shared among the nodes of a computer network. As a database, a blockchain stores information electronically in digital format. Blockchains are best known for their crucial role in cryptocurrency systems, such as Bitcoin, for maintaining a secure and decentralized record of transactions. One key difference between a typical database and a blockchain is how the data is structured. A blockchain collects information together in groups, known as blocks, that hold sets of information. Blocks have certain storage capacities and, when filled, are closed and linked to the previously filled block, forming a chain of data known as the blockchain. All new information that follows that freshly added block is compiled into a newly formed block that will then also be added to the chain once filled. Etherium: Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source blockchain with smart contract functionality. Ether is the native cryptocurrency of the platform. Amongst cryptocurrencies, Ether is second only to Bitcoin in market capitalization. Ethereum was conceived in 2013 by programmer Vitalik Buterin. A cryptocurrency wallet is a device, physical medium, program or a service which stores the public and/or private keys for cryptocurrency transactions. In addition to this basic function of storing the keys, a cryptocurrency wallet more often also offers the functionality of encrypting and/or signing information. How do I buy an NFT? Buy etherium and set it up in your wallet, which you can do through an app called coinbase. From there you can go to the NFT market places, theres a few of them, but the most popular is open sea Can I make my own NFT? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/dointhething/message

The Elon Musk origin story is inspiring. After founding PayPal he had a vision of colonizing the planet of Mars - something the majority of us dream of (kidding). His first three missions failed, and he had only enough resources to launch one more mission - which succeeded. Next, he dreamed of sustainably powered vehicles. In 2008, in the middle of what was arguably one of the worst financial situations in American history, he released his first model - which was priced two times higher than initial estimates he'd provided. The company nearly went bankrupt, he used the last of his life savings to keep it alive. We all know how this story ends. As inspiring as his story is, it's not real life for the majority of us. That said, how can we inspire ourselves to reach greater heights, regardless of how big or small they may be. We have another opportunity to have our dear friend and Industrial and Organizational Psychologist, Founder of The Connect IO, Dr. Leroy Simpson, to another of our talks. You might think that there's some symbolism or unusual story behind the title. Swords and pomegranates have several symbols in different cultures, and the fruit was prominently featured in the story of Persephone and Hades in Greek mythology. We're taking a bit of a break from our regular program and talk about wine with our friend Kris Levy. Kris is the founder of Kris's Wine Club. This community provides members resources and choices of wines they'll know they'll love even before opening the bottle. He is also a Wine Branding Coach who specializes in building relationships and communities for wine brands to increase virtual direct to consumer sales. As you can tell, Kris loves wine, loves talking about it, and loves sharing the stories behind the brand. In this episode, Kris treats us with stories about his wine club, his love of wines, and at the same time earning in doing something he really loves. This is a welcome breath of fresh air from our regular programming because we too love wines. It is quite important to take breaks, indulge yourself in a bit, and find enjoyment in simple things, especially during these challenging times.
