Today on Feminine Roadmap Susan Lazar Hart talks about creating the life you choose. We often live in the world feeling that we have no choice, Susan would say that even thinking we have no choice is a choice. She encourages listeners to sit with the question: who do I want to be and where do I want to go next? Fundamentally, you do have a choice. It's important that our choices be in alignment with what we want to create in the world. When we stop, get quiet and allow things to come to the front of our minds instead of being in a state of resistance, then our better choices can rise. Susan reminds listeners to tap into what your choices could create. Remembering to ask if each choice is congruent. Life is full of choices, both of doing and not doing. What if you indulged in a completely different choice by allowing yourself to do things differently or show up differently. Midlife is often a time of reinvention, figuring out what's next and along with that can be timidity, apprehension or even fear. The beauty of courage is that it doesn't have to be a broad sweeping step, it can be done in small, purposeful shifts. Often a shift in our paradigm is the catalyst that empowers us to take the next best step. We are women who have lived a lot of life, learned many things and experienced so much – with that comes value. Our value in midlife is immense, understanding that is the first step in summoning courage. As we learn to honor the women that we are, what we know, who we are and what we offer, we can courageously move toward the next iteration of ourselves. If you are in a place of shift in your midlife journey, this conversation will be a terrific nudge in the right direction. Please grab a cuppa something wonderful and join us! https://fork-road.com/
Today Dr. Bill Rawls shares how his own health decline led to his passion for cellular wellness and aging. Dr. Rawls explains how the concept of cellular wellness applies to every area of health. Through his journey he recognized an uptick in illness and wanted to offer solutions to that. There are five factors to every illness: bad diet, environmental toxins, chronic mental stress, inactivity, and the microbe factor. The body accumulates harmful microbes throughout their lifetime and when the cells are stressed, those microbes move into action. Our bodies are made up of cells and symptoms are an indication of cellular stress. Dr. Rawls explains that when our cells are stressed , they require more nutrients than normal. When our diet is lacking in the proper nutrients, our cells become overly stressed and illness takes place. Today on Feminine Roadmap guest Val Brown shares strategies to help you turn your setbacks into stepping stones. Val firmly believes in the power of stories – change your story and you'll change your life. After she lost her love of over 40 years, she found herself lost and the identity she had held was gone. Her grief journey was the catalyst for the passion to help others understand their own journey, to honor every part of it. She encourages listeners to pause and recognize where they find themselves today and understand what it is that they are carrying. We live our lives through the stories that we are telling to ourselves and those around us. Rewriting our stories is a key part of building those stepping stones to overcome our setbacks. We are so much more than what has happened to us and the stories we have told to survive. Once we realize that we are not alone then true healing can take place without shame or guilt. A key part of this is to be able to reconcile those things so we can move on. If this resonates with you, this episode will be a helpful tool for you. Today on Feminine Roadmap: Aligning your life with what your body needs with Katie Bramlett. Katie is the co-founder of We-Shape, a company that creates personalized workouts that meet you where you are. Today she talks about their mission to change how and why people exercise. The goal is to focus on why we move our bodies, to feel good, have energy, and connect with our body. Toxic diet culture focuses on external outcomes, pushing through, and a number on the scale. Switching from the should to connecting with the what feels fright for my body today is a key element in this philosophy. Fitness and nutrition is not a one size fits most paradigm, it's individual and personal for each person. Katie encourages listeners to practice turning up the internal dial of self, listening to our bodies so we can connect with ourselves and move accordingly. When it comes to food, the goal is to create neutrality not judgement around food to avoid disordered eating patterns. As we question our narratives, the hope is that it will crack open the door just a little to let some new light in. When we find a way to feel safe enough to be open to making a change toward releasing beliefs about our identity we've held around diet and exercise, we can learn to connect to our body in a new way. Today on Feminine Roadmap, my guest Dr. Mindy Pelz is on a mission to help women understand the impact of neurochemical changes during menopause. Dr. Mindy is opening up the conversations around recognizing and accepting how our minds, bodies, and emotions change. She firmly believes that understanding how these neurochemical changes impact us emotionally and mentally empowers us to lean in and begin to graciously move through menopause. As we understand what is emotionally changing and what part the neurochemicals play in that, we can shift from resistance to healing and change with grace. The shift in midlife as our neurochemical shields drop is not the end but an invitation into a new season of life. Menopause is essentially a transition from reproduction and the ability to birth children to a new season of production and birthing new purpose. Her goal in sharing is to help normalize the conversation about depression and how we can work together to manage it. Today on Feminine Roadmap: Finding what an empowered life looks like to you with Diana Percovic, founder of Good Girl Mafia. Diana is a leader in empowerment for women and is on a mission to change the way female empowerment is defined and expressed. The culture surrounding female empowerment is often very disempowering and we, as women, have the opportunity to challenge that. Diana points out that we tend to think in a linear fashion, we are motivated toward something or motivated away from something. She encourages listeners to consider how both of those can work together to help identify the way forward for you. Instead of jumping on the current bandwagon and accepting the definition or expression, Diana opens the conversation around empowerment in order to invite women to find what resonates. We often think it has to be a huge goal, a huge shift, a huge definition and sometimes it's a subtle shift or a baby step. It's ok to acknowledge being stuck, feeling struggle, it's important to not land there and live. Acknowledging what exists in our current stories and beliefs that does not serve us is helpful. The empowerment journey is not one size fits all but rather it is a fingerprint, uniquely you. Today on Feminine Roadmap: It's time to take those limiting beliefs to court with Alison Hall. Alison encourages listeners to learn how to change their mindset and get free from limiting beliefs. Thousands of thoughts a day cross our minds and often we are not even aware of how those thoughts are directing our lives. Thoughts fuel our choices and habits yet rarely do we take the time to question them. Whatever is going on in our heads is often what is slowing us down in life. In this episode, Alison shares strategies that will begin to help you change those unchallenged thoughts by taking the time to stop and listen. It's key that we develop the habit of listening to our thoughts, capture those that are regular offenders and examine them – take those thoughts to court. As we begin to question if our thoughts are true, if they actually are for or against us, or even where did that thought come from- we can begin to turn the tide of our thought lives. One thing to keep in mind is that it took years to get here so we need to have grace in the journey to better thinking, doing and being. Give yourself permission to use your imagination and consider a different way of thinking, different expectations of outcomes, different possibilities. Today on Feminine Roadmap: How to developing a generosity practice makes you unstoppable with Christina Frei. Christina found herself feeling anxious on an airplane and decided to play a game. The game she created was to imagine of she could give something to everyone what would it be? She imagined having limitless opportunity and resources to generously give to others and that shifted her energy in that moment. Christina took this to others and through that developed it into a practice. Fast forward to writing and publishing her new book, “The Generosity Practice Book: 40 Days to Unstoppable”. Her idea of looking at things from a limitless abundance point of view – her generosity practice- helps people open up and find joy. She encourages listeners to ask themselves some simple questions. At the start of the day ask, “What feels good to offer today?” The fun part of this is that it's imaginary so it can be anything at all from money to things to superpowers. Allowing our minds to lift up out of the weight of reality and spend some time creating a world of generosity and community helps our heart to expand. Today on Feminine Roadmap Catherine Rains reminds us that there is not timeline, you can achieve dreams at any age. Cat shares her journey, it's different paths and how each part has served its purpose. One of the nuggets of wisdom in this conversation is that it's key to understand the timing of your life and find a deep acceptance of the place you are today. Somewhere we got the idea that there's a timeline that we're not keeping up with, we're ahead or behind it, or we've missed it all together. Cat encourages listeners to erase the idea of some mystical timeline that we're chasing and recognize it's arbitrary, even imagined. Where we find ourselves to day is, in fact, where we are for some purpose and being present to it with acceptance helps to shift the pressure. Life is a journey and there's not just one place to be, there are many stops along the way that vary in length and impact. Our journey is what it is and each day we get to choose what little shifts we want to make. Reinvention isn't one grand sweeping gesture, it's following the little whispers in our spirit that draw our attention to something. Alexandra desires that women come to the table and discuss the nuances of their individual experiences, challenge widely held social constructs, and give rise to empowering new perspectives on the menopause paradigm. In talking to women to prepare for writing her book on menopause conversations, she found that many women did not have a community to walk this journey with. Menopause is often a negative, “this is the worst”, “you're just going to miserable” kind of expectation but does it have to be? By sharing our common experiences and normalizing the conversation around our actual experiences and expectations, we can shift the perception. There is so much vibrancy to be had in midlife with menopause being the portal to this new season. Menopause has the ability to dial up our relationship with our bodies – no more grind and punish- and with ourselves- acceptance and grace. The idea behind this dialogue is to encourage awareness and create community to help navigate the transition in an authentic, healthy way for each woman. Thie episode encourages listeners to move through menopause in a more aligned, connected way both mentally and physically in community. It's an opportunity to honor this journey as a gift, seeing it as moving into a completely different kind of fertility in life. Today on Feminine Roadmap: Menopause: You're not Broken, You're Beautifully Designed with Angela Counsel. Naturopath and Menopause coach Angela Counsel returns to Feminine Roadmap to share her passion to support women through their menopause transition in a way that feels good for them. Each woman's menopause journey is like a thumbprint so each woman will experience it differently so one size does not fit all when it comes to dealing with it. Angela wants to help women change the attitude and conversation around this natural, biological transition that all women will go through. Traditionally we have been taught to keep quiet about our bodies, our cycles, and our symptoms which is amplified by the general lack of knowledge in the medical community. Many women who struggle are told it's all a “normal” part of aging and that they just need to tough it out. This attitude can cause women to feel shame, like they are being punished for being a woman. It can create a feeling that our bodies are broken, that there's something wrong. The truth is that we are not broken, we are beautifully designed to go through this change and there are ways that we can navigate it with more ease and even enjoy it. Angela helps women understand their biology, their thumbprint, so that they can begin to work with their design instead of following the one size fits all approach that is so prevalent today. As you begin to understand who you are, how your body works and what it needs, you can step into the glory of your unique design. Menopause is not the end, it's a new beginning, a pathway to a whole new life. If this resonates with you, grab a cuppa something wonderful and grab a menopausal sister and have a listen. This conversation is empowering, uplifting and eye-opening- please share it with your lady friends and let's change the way we think, see and talk about this topic that affects each of us. Today on Feminine Roadmap: how to build your ship for when the waves of grief crash in with Christy Roberts. Christy shares how she is navigating her own grief journey after the tragic loss of her 18 year old son in a car crash. She found herself thrown into an ocean of grief which led her to get help for herself. From that decision to get help came a mission to help others navigate their own oceans of grief. She helps people build their ship – their emotional resources in order to ride the waves of grief toward healing. Her mission is to help others turn their pain into power and into post-traumatic growth. While it is not a straight path and everyone's experience is different, there are some universal principles that each grieving person can learn to use to help. Christy encourages listeners to lean in to the pain not away from it. The key is to recognize that the pain you are feeling is your map to healing, it points to where attention is needed. She acknowledges that there is an entire pendulum of emotions that ebb and flow, sometimes in groups, sometimes one at a time. Of course, nothing can prepare us for the moment of loss – instead of shame, guilt, regret, she encourages listeners to sit with the grief. The important thing to remember is that when we learn to sit with those emotions and ride the waves as they come up, that allows the emotions to pass through and on. Christy gives practical strategies to learn to listen to our bodies and hold a space for those emotions to breathe. If you or someone you love is going through grief, please take the time to share this episode with them. Today on Feminine Roadmap developing grittitude to achieve the life that you've dreamed of with Jacqui Flavell. Jacqui and her co-author Kay Woodburn are passionate about bringing the gritty mindset and attitude to as many people as they can. They have found that a lot of people feel stuck in the life they're living and they want to help people realize they can write their own story. Jacqui encourages listeners to take the time to turn and face how they perceive and frame the way they view their lives. Once we face our lives with honesty then we can take responsibility for where we are and the direction we are headed. The life you've dreamed of is at the other end of intention. When we stop focusing on what we don't want and begin to hone in on what it is we do want, that intention begins to point us in the right direction. Often we've lost sight of the things that bring up joy and energy as adults. Another step toward the life you dream of can be found through reconnecting with those things with curiosity and seeing the possibilities within them. Bringing play back into our days and challenging those paradigms that have begun to limit us can reignite our lives. Grittitude is the practice of intentionally pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and welcoming being uncomfortable. The beauty of becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable is that it increases emotional and mental flexibility. As we practice changing our state, how we talk to and about ourselves, we are practicing grittitude. If you are ready to achieve the life that you've dreamed up, join us. Today on Feminine Roadmap: it starts with one step with author and entrepreneur Elisa A. Schmitz. Elisa brings years of many one steps that have led her on an incredible journey. She wants to empower listeners to shift their mindsets to see the friction of life as fuel and fire to move them forward in life toward success. As women in midlife we bring rich life experiences, skills and knowledge to this new season of life. So often we don't understand the value of who we have become and what we have to offer so we minimize our true potential. One strategy is to detach from all the doing and create some white space in our lives so that ideas have room to flow and grow. Once those ideas begin to flow, we take one step and gather information. Then one step more could be preparation and research to put some legs to the ideas. Elisa admits that fear may well arise when we take the next step but remembering that the role of fear is to inform us can help to put things into perspective. Midlife is a time of transition, reinvention and expansion so why not you? Look around you and see what step you can take next that will bring your unique perspective and skills to the world, making it a better place. Go ahead and toss your hat into the ring, just take one step at a time. Today on Feminine Roadmap: making time for creativity found with Claire Waite Brown. Claire is on a mission to connect the creatively stifled with the creatively confident to help them find their creative expression. She believes anyone can go from creatively suppressed to the freedom of expression. Oftentimes people think they are not creative because they don't draw or paint but creativity is so much more. Claire wants to encourage listeners to be creative in their own way. There are so many avenues to express creativity like gardening, home decorating, flower arranging, writing, dancing, cooking. Creativity found in every day activities that bring you joy and allow you to express yourself in a way that feels good. There is a therapeutic value to creating, it helps us release stress and worry. It can replace those feelings with peace, joy, and a restful mind. The beauty of Claire's purpose is that it's not about how whatever you choose to do turns out, it's about the learning to lean in and just enjoy the process of being creative. As adults we often lose touch with play and creativity so Claire built a community online that allows adults to tap back in. She encourages listeners to know that they are not the only one feeling creatively challenged, there are others who feel the same way. Her community is a safe place to connect with others who understand where you're at and will support you. And the best part? There are no expectations of outcome, just the joy of leaning in, being curious and allowing play to become a part of your life. Today on Feminine Roadmap Alison Katschkowsky says the perfect time is now to reinvent yourself. Alison wants to empower women to believe that what they want for themselves is possible. No the ship has not sailed for those of us in midlife although we may need to build the ship to sail. The reality is that how we show up today, the tiny decisions we make are creating our future selves. When quarantine hit, Alison lost her business and had to consider what to do next. Her lesson was when things change in an instant, you sometimes need the courage to leap. Her best advice when starting something new? Embrace a beginner's mindset and utilize your past successes and skills to move forward. We have a lifetime of experiences that give us proof of our ability to learn and do new things so remind yourself that you can learn. You have the ability to figure things out as you go. While fear is very real to us, we get to decide what it means for us and take our power back. She encourages listeners that it will take practice since it may have been a while since we've tried something new or different. But stay curious, ask good questions, be open to discomfort and change. Doing hard things is a choice that we get to make but we decide how to define it. The key is to shift the way we think about it. A great question to help is, ‘What can I think or do in this moment that will make things a little easier for me?' Make up your mind that you will gather the information you need then make a decision and take action. Go ahead and borrow belief from your past successes and apply it to today. If you are facing big changes like a reinvention, this conversation will inspire and empower you to take your next best step. Today on Feminine Roadmap Kristina Mand Lakhiani encourages listeners to beat perfectionism and become flawesome. Kristina spent her life achieving, striving, building and doing what she thought would make her happy. As co-founder of Mind valley, Kristina spent 20 years watching it go from a small home-based business to a world wide platform. At the end of that time she was surprised to find herself feeling unhappy then guilty for that unhappiness. This led her to take a sabbatical that helped her face her battle with perfectionism and helped her return to what she now deems her authentic self- warts and all. She realized that she loved to write so she wrote a book that helps readers begin to uncover their path back to themselves and in turn, live in their flawsomeness. Perfectionism requires us to try harder, do more, struggle to do better and what you're not good at which breeds fear of trying so we don't risk losing. Ironically, this is the exact thing that holds us back from living an aligned life, one that empowers us to shine, grow and bring our true value to the world around us. If perfectionism is our only standard, we will never arrive so naturally everything that doesn't reach that standard is something to be ashamed of or to feel bad about. Kristina has a lot to share that will help you overcome perfectionism and set your feet on a path that is meaningful for you. She encourages you to make an important shift in the relationship you have with yourself: instead of being judgmental, begin to be kind and curious. If you find yourself struggling with perfectionism and feeling unworthy, I encourage you to give yourself the gift of time to sit and listen to this conversation. Today on Feminine Roadmap, a love letter from God with Lori Potts. Lori is the pastor and founder of LAPP Ministries and author of, “It's OK to Be Beautiful: 30 Days to Healing, Health and Hope for a Beautiful Life”. Her calling is to educate and empower women of faith to know their full worth in Christ. She wants women to have a full knowledge of who they are created to be as well as experiencing complete healing and hope mentally, spiritually and physically. She encourages women to tune out the noise and things of this world that clutter our hearts and minds. When we get overwhelmed with life, responsibilities, and changes we can easily lose our way. As we change our focus off of those things and onto the truth of God's word, it reestablishes the posture of our heart. The fear, anxiety and worry begins to melt away and peace takes its place. The beauty of seeking God in our lives is that we can trust Him with the outcomes in every area. So often we strive and struggle alone, but we can turn to God as our anchor. When we finally turn to Him, say “Yes Lord”, then we can move forward. God takes care of the details as we lean in, trust and obey. Saying yes to God's purpose and plan is saying yes to what we were designed to do and be. So today Lori shares how to release what is burdening you and receive the love that God has for you. He has offered us His Son, His word and His unconditional love. There is hope, help and healing waiting for you. Today on Feminine Roadmap we're talking about gray divorce with family therapist Linda Hershman. Linda realized that she was seeing more and more couples in midlife considering divorce. She had an opportunity to speak in another country and wondered if gray divorce was an issue that would be relevant elsewhere. What she learned was that gray divorce was, in fact, a global issue. This led her to do a lot of research around the topic in preparation for her presentation in Europe. In this episode we discuss the findings from her research and her counseling practice. Since 1 in 4 marriages in midlife end in divorce, this has become an important area for her to understand. She encourages those considering divorce to take the time to understand why this is happening, identify the fears and real concerns of divorcing later in life. Also she talks about research on the long term effects of divorce on adult children. She advises listeners to consider what they can do if you're not sure whether or not you want to get a divorce. Also understanding what kind of supports are available to you as you navigate this journey. Often we turn to friends and family but Linda advises listeners to talk to a professional who can give unbiased input and perspective. While every season of marriage has it challenges, midlife has become a difficult frontier for at least 25% of marriages. If you or anyone you know are struggling with this season of your marriage, this episode will offer good insight and advice. Today on Feminine Roadmap: Finding your midlife passion with Mary K. Savarese. Mary shares how finding her passion in writing fiction literally saved her life and helped her heal. She is on a mission to inspire other women in midlife to stop procrastinating in finding a hobby that brings them joy. In her books she blends fantasy, romance and history to create a world where readers can escape the real world and get lost in the world of her characters. Writing for her was a path to wholeness and healing, giving her life direction, focus and a place to find joy. When she came to the crossroads of midlife she realized that connecting to what was in her heart, what brought her joy was going to be the key to her next season. Her encouragement to listeners is to take the time to become present to what it is that lights you up, what you're drawn to and what brings you joy. Start slowly and experiment with things, figure out what parts of that you like and what you don't. One important step is to be open to the outcome possibly being just for the joy of it. Mary touches on how we have spent a lifetime of service and accomplishing tasks begins to transition as we are in midlife. That transition from all the doing for others to connecting with yourself can be adventure if we lean in. Curiosity, courage and a willingness to take a posture of being a learner go a long way in helping find your midlife passion. For some, it's an obvious thing while for others it's more of a treasure hunt. No matter where you find yourself on your midlife journey, this conversation will spark inspiration. Today on Feminine Roadmap an insightful conversation about emotional contagion with retired clinical psychologist Dr. Bruce Hutchison. The world events of the past 3 years has left a massive emotional aftermath in its wake on our society. Dr. Bruce reminds us that emotions don't think and that has contributed to the current state of emotional turmoil we are experiencing. He talks about how to handle emotions personally, in society, and politics. When we carry on conversations, he shares how to become more emotionally aware of yourself and the person or people we are talking with. Since we all feel emotion, it is important to first become aware of our own emotional state while becoming present to the states of others. Emotions flow through society, passed on by mirror neurons. It's natural to begin to merge with others emotions especially when the situation is more charged. Our emotions naturally intensify during times of turmoil and can easily begin to run rampant causing arguments, division and the cancel culture as we have been experiencing. Without becoming present to our selves and others there is a danger of the emotional contagion continuing unchecked. Once we begin to change our thoughts and behavior, we can begin to change our emotional state. As we practice slowing ourselves down, paying attention to our body position, tone of voice, and breathing, we can change our behavior. Stepping back for a moment can often help give us a little perspective and bring our emotions in check. Dr. Bruce encourages listeners to be aware that emotions drive behavior and practice helpful, correct thoughts to manage your own emotions. He stresses how important it is to regulate our emotions in order to turn the tide of emotional turmoil in ourselves and our sphere of influence. Her life dramatically changed with a divorce and a cancer diagnosis, along with that a new life. She wanted to do something she hadn't done before so she decided to go back to school and get her degree which included learning to write a thesis. A byproduct of this dynamic shift in her life was a mission to find out what she could do. At 58 years old with a degree in hand she began to explore other things that she found interesting. She hired a personal trainer at 61 years old and lost weight she'd ben carrying around for years. Her fitness journey lead to learning to run so she could do her first 5K. She said that she's done more in the last 10 years than she had done for decades before. As she approaches 70, Jill is looking forward to what her next big experience will be. Today on Feminine Roadmap we're talking about going from crisis to oasis with Denise Belisle. Denise empowers women to rock their midlife by shifting from crisis to oasis. Crisis can be a state of being that at some point in our lives was a protective state that served to keep us feeling safe. As adults the key is to begin to identify the ways we have been programmed to survive or protect ourselves and shift those habits. Once we are able to recognize those patterns in our lives we can step into the drivers' seat and consciously choose our behavior. The first step to change is to become aware of the ways we sabotage ourselves, the root cause of our reactions. Once we do this then we can choose to take responsibility and choose our responses. The power of taking personal responsibility and choosing a better way of being stems from a healthy relationship with ourselves. When we are comfortable in our own skin, moving from judgement to acceptance then we can effectively change and move forward. We are not responsible for the actions or reactions of others only ourselves. Moving from crisis to oasis begins and ends with our ability to recognize our own habits and patterns that need to be changed and then changing them. We cannot control or change anyone else, that game leads to chaos and crisis. But when we live in our own skin, growing and becoming the best version of ourselves apart from what others do or don't do, we find oasis. IF you find yourself feeling a sense of chaos or crisis in your life and relationships, this episode is for you. Please grab a cuppa something wonderful and join us to find your oasis. Today on Feminine Roadmap we are talking with Dr. Salome Masghati on optimizing your health and healing. Dr. Salome is passionate about helping her clients to understand the whole perspective on their health. The whole picture of health includes the mindset, body, trauma, epigenetics and environment. As an allopathic doctor, she found that she wanted to be able to provide a more holistic approach to health and healing for her clients so she added functional medicine to her resume. Functional medicine approaches health by looking at a patient as an individual with a systems-based biology approach. A functional medicine doctor takes a holistic approach by considering the full picture of your physical, mental, emotional, and sometimes even spiritual health. The beauty of this approach is getting beyond the symptom itself to the root cause of that symptom so that true healing occurs. Dr. Salome encourages those new to functional medicine to trust the process and understand this approach takes time. Functional medicine requires a mindset shift toward medicine from a quick fix to a long-term solution. Today on Feminine Roadmap, wise financial advice for widows with Stacy Francis. Stacy is a financial advisor, founder of the non-profit Savvy Ladies and champions women to take control of their finances so they can achieve financial security. From a personal experience in her family, she became passionate about helping women to be financially secure after the loss of a spouse. Her advice is straightforward, practical and easy to follow. Stacy encourages women to get their team in place: a state planning attorney, a financial advisor and a grief recovery coach or counselor. Often women are overwhelmed with all of the decisions that seem to be looking and all of the details that come with the loss of a spouse. One of her biggest pieces of advice is to understand how grief can cause our brains to feel foggy and to know that it won't last forever. You have time to make decisions and by having a team in place, you are able to rely on wise advisors to help guide you through everything that needs to be handled. The other resource she reminds listeners they have is friends and relatives that offer to help, she gives list of items that they can take care of to help reduce the tasks on your plate. Today on Feminine Roadmap: Pursuing your third act quest with Diana Place. Diana is on a mission to reframe how we view aging and life after 50 by inspiring and supporting women to reimagine the decades ahead. Those decades are the opportunity to create third act lives of joy, meaning and purpose. This season of life isn't the time to step back or withdraw, it is time to expand, thrive, and create your best life. As we approach the “midlife” years we are often faced with paradigms that we may not have fully understood that take up residence in our belief systems. The beauty of it all is that just because we have a limiting belief about aging does not mean that we are limited, we can choose a different mindset and outcome. We have been handed longevity, we are living 30 years longer than our great grandmothers. Another way to look at it is that we have lived one adult life from 18-48 years old, now we have an entire new adult life to live from 48-78 years old or maybe even longer. Diana believes this is a gift we each get to unwrap by prioritizing our time and holding a space for our dreams. Many women in midlife feel this yearning for something akin to meaning, purpose, a craving for new, different experiences. Diana wants listeners to consider that your third act quest is your time and it's your duty to let your dreams come to the surface in this season. She encourages you to tap into that inner GP, to follow it and that inner knowing that comes with it. What is that tickling in your soul that is calling to you? What in your life is pulling you forward? What is seeking to breakthrough the soil of your life and grow? Don't let your gift remain unwrapped because others need it more than you know. It doesn't need to take a disruption to move you in a new direction it can be a decision. So what decision will you make? Grab a cuppa something wonderful, join Diana and I for this inspiring conversation about unfolding our third act quest.
