By "we got" we mean that we bought a Cameo of someone doing a new intro for this podcast, and by "him" we mean Bob Nightengale. He kinda did his own thing with it. Was it good? Listen for yourself. Y'know what hasn't amazing, though? Opening weekend in the Bronx for the Boston Red Sox. We talk about everything about that series--from what we liked and didn't like on the field, to Jake's run-in with his new pal, Marlins Man. We then broke down the Sox's next opponents--Detroit and Minnesota--and went on a number of tangents that included Dennis Drinkwater, soul music, Poopies up on the strip, and The Departed. The winner of our Dustin Pedroia signed ball giveaway was also announced on this episode. Stick around until the end for that! Opening song following Bob's wise words is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips.

In the meantime, let's talk pitchers! We dived in on six--count 'em, six--pitchers on the 2022 Red Sox. What do we expect from Nathan Eovaldi after a big year? What's the deal with Chris Sale after another injury? Where does Garrett Whitlock fit in? Bailey Srebnik (@xWOBAiley on Twitter) was also kind enough to join us this week to speak about his Tampa Bay Rays! Finally, we went over our 2022 MLB playoff predictions. All three of us will, somehow, be correct by year's end. Don't ask me how that works. All that and more (including some quality pudge talk) on this rousing edition of Pod On Lansdowne! Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "We Got The Noise" by the Donots. "Finding Out True Love Is Blind" by Louis XIV was also used in this episode.

FOLLOW US ON TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM @PODONLANSDOWNE; THEN LEAVE A GOOD REVIEW YA BUTTHEADS It's a marathon-length episode of Pod On Lansdowne as we approach Opening Day 2K22! This week, we dove into the Red Sox outfield corps. What can we expect for this fresh season that lies before us? I sure hope they're all stellar, don't you? We talked about Verdugo, JBJ, our pal Enrique, things of that nature. Throughout the show, we were also joined by a few guests for our AL East preview series! Friend of the program Jordan Katz (@NaturallyKatz11 on Twitter) was welcomed on to talk about his beloved Baltimore Orioles (the Red Sox can't have Adley Rutschman guys. Sorry; I tried to get him to budge). Later, we were pleased to be joined by Emily Nyman (@EmSheDoesIt on Twitter) of the Breaking Balls Pod to discuss the New York Yankees. We screamed at each other for 20 minutes and threatened to take the other's life, just like real rivals should! In all seriousness, thank you to both Jordan and Emily for taking the time to come on the show and talk about their favorite teams! We wrap up the show with some MLB MVP predictions. Pretty straightforward stuff: I will get all of mine correct, while Jake and Liam will not. Simple as that! This episode features a few (and by "a few" I mean "a lot") tangents that go completely off the rails. One of them involves the mascot of the Worcester Red Sox being a QAnon believer. You're just gonna have to listen to the show to find out how we got to that point. VELMA! Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. Songs introducing the Orioles and Yankees segments respectively are "Kyoto" by Phoebe Bridgers and "Theme From 'New York New York'" by Frank Sinatra.

He'll be here in Boston for a while, and we're happy about it! Who exactly is Trevor Story? What kind of player will we be seeing at Fenway? And what does his arrival mean for 2022 and beyond for the Red Sox? What's with all the questions, huh? Huh buddy? You think you're better than me? Who do you think you are? I am! We answer some of those inquiries posed above (I'm not sure if you think you're better than me) and we also begin our POSITION BREAKDOWN SERIES!! This week, the infielders get their time in the spotlight. Expectations, ways players can take the next step, all that fun stuff. We rap up our little program with some good ol' fashioned Yankees slander and retired number talk, for some reason! Opening songs are *takes deep breath* "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" by Nine Days, "Story of My Life" by Social Distortion, the Brady Bunch theme, "The Story of Tonight" from the musical "Hamilton," "Morning Glory" by Oasis, "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift, "The Story of My Life" by One Direction, and "The Story of O.J." by Jay Z. Quite a few, huh? Closing song is also "Love Story (Taylor's Version)."

Spoiler alert: we like 'em! Who are we kidding though: the biggest developments of this episode came with the two (2) hypothetical questions we addressed. Jake (@JakeWallinger on Twitter) and Liam (@LiamFennessy_) join Fitz (@FitzyMoPena) to talk about this silly little Boston team playing their silly little baseball. The 2021 Red Sox were fun. Watching them lose was not. We talked about why that happened and how that can be fixed in 2022. Makes sense, right? Should Boston sign Carlos Correa? Seiya Suzuki? You, the listener? Speak for yourself, but we had some takes about the first two. Since it's a Red Sox podcast without any Red Sox baseball on the horizon, we had to yell about who's fault that is as CBA negotiations continue: Rob Manfred and the owners. We also ran down some proposed rule changes on the field. We wrapped the show up with some Batman talk. Beat it, toots.
