That Desi Spark, formerly known as The Woke Desi, is a bold podcast created by three founders who recognized a space void of color and conversation around the topics that impact dual-identity, South Asian millennials the most. From education to entertainm
I recently started listening to The That Desi Spark (formerly The Woke Desi) podcast and I must say, it has quickly become one of my favorites. This podcast covers a range of topics that are relevant and important to the South Asian community, and even though I am not from that background, I still find the discussions to be incredibly insightful and eye-opening.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the quality of the content. Each episode is well-thought-out and tackles issues that are often ignored or considered taboo within the South Asian community. The hosts, Annika Sharma and Nehal Tenany, do an excellent job of facilitating these conversations and bringing in knowledgeable guests who can provide different perspectives. They ask thought-provoking questions and challenge listeners to question their own beliefs and values. The episodes are informative, engaging, and often very funny.
Another great aspect of this podcast is how relatable it is. Sharma and Tenany have a wonderful chemistry on air which makes the podcast feel like a conversation among friends. They share personal anecdotes and experiences which many listeners can relate to, creating a sense of connection. Additionally, the topics covered are varied, ranging from light-hearted discussions to more serious ones. This variety keeps the episodes interesting and ensures that there is something for everyone.
However, there are also some aspects of this podcast that may not resonate with everyone. For example, some listeners might find the hosts' humor or style of delivery to be off-putting. While I personally enjoy their lighthearted approach, others may prefer a more serious tone when discussing certain topics. Additionally, because this podcast focuses specifically on South Asian issues, it might not appeal to those who are not part of that community or don't have an interest in learning about those experiences.
In conclusion, The That Desi Spark (formerly The Woke Desi) podcast is a fantastic listen for anyone interested in South Asian culture, as well as those looking to broaden their perspectives and become more inclusive individuals. The hosts provide an important platform for discussions that are often avoided or overlooked, and they do so in an engaging and relatable manner. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen and being open to the valuable insights it offers.
