The scientists said their new findings on the mixing and mating of the groups suggested the activities happened a little more recently than thought in the past. They believe the contact continued over many generations. 科学家们表示,他们关于这些群体混合和交配的新发现表明,这些活动发生的时间比过去想象的要晚一些。他们相信这种接触持续了好几代人。Priya Moorjani was co-writer of the study appearing in Science. She is an assistant professor of molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley. She told Reuters, “Genetic data from these samples really helps us paint a picture in more and more detail.” The team noted that it is difficult to know the exact nature of the interactions between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals based on the examined data. The researchers also could not confirm exactly where the mixing and mating happened. However, they believe it was most likely somewhere in the Middle East. 研究小组指出,根据检查的数据很难了解智人和尼安德特人之间相互作用的确切性质。研究人员也无法确定混合和交配发生的确切位置。然而,他们认为它很可能在中东某个地方。 The researchers noted most modern humans still have genetic material from Neanderthals that accounts for an estimated one to two percent of their DNA. They said modern-day genetic traits linked to skin color, hair color and even nose shape can relate back to the Neanderthals. Our genetic makeup also includes links to another group of human ancestors called Denisovans. Moorjani noted that the history of Neanderthals living outside Africa for thousands of years likely gave them a greater ability to deal with climate and diseases in new environments. “Some of their genes may have been beneficial to modern humans,” she added. 穆尔贾尼指出,尼安德特人在非洲以外生活了数千年的历史可能使他们在新环境中应对气候和疾病的能力更强。“它们的一些基因可能对现代人类有益,”她补充道。 Rick Potts is director of the Smithsonian Institution's Human Origins program. Several anti-creationists have made a hobby out of attacking creationists. Their best efforts, however, have generally failed. For example, see: Sanford 2013 Critic ignores reality of Genetic Entropy: the author of a landmark book on genomic decay responds to unsustainable criticisms creation.com 7 Mar 2013. Price, Carter, and Sanford 2020, Responding to supposed refutations of genetic entropy from the ‘experts', creation.com, 1 Dec 2020. Unperturbed, "Gutsick Gibbon" has recently tried to discredit Dr Jeffrey Tomkins and his work on human-chimp genetic similarities: "80% Chimpanzee" | The Bogus Creationism of Jeffery Tomkins" 26 May 2023 youtube.com/watch?v=QtTHlqhRQi0. In my analysis of her analysis, I note several flaws in her logic. Note, however, that I deliberately ignored several of her main objections. This was not because I do not have answers, mind you, but because I wanted to focus on the most salient questions. Ignored were questions about why God would have included all the chimp-like non-coding DNA when he made humans and questions about properly weighting samples. The most recent comparison I am aware of claimed 96.6% similarity between humans and chimps: Seaman and Buggs 2020 FluentDNA: nucleotide visualization of whole genomes, annotations, and alignments, Frontiers in Genetics 30;11:292. This comes from the laboratory of Richard Buggs. This is much higher than Tomkins' estimates, that, with one exception, are generally in the 80s. However, I know the first author on that paper, so I called him up to discuss his methods. Sure enough, he used entirely different methodology than earlier work from that same laboratory (which arrived at an estimate of ~85%). To reach the higher percentage similarity, they cut out everything humans and chimps do not share, including the centromeres, telomeres, copy number variations of many annotated genes, and hundreds of thousands of small insertions and deletions that must be included to align the two genomes. This "apples to apples" comparison is fine, as long as everybody acknowledges that the true similarity is necessarily less than 96.6%. Yet, if the percent similarity is much less than 99%, there is no way, mathematically, to explain how so many millions of difference arose in the (imagined) 6.5 million years since our last common ancestor. Abstract: Upper limb motor recovery is a priority for chronic SCI patients to improve functionality and quality of life. Treatment options available for acute SCI provide limited benefit to those with persistent motor symptoms years after injury, creating a need for interventions to target chronic motor damage. Our therapeutic approach utilizes quipazine, a serotonergic agonist, as a chemical neuromodulator to induce plasticity of spared motor pathways in a rat model of chronic SCI. Therapy consisted of quipazine delivery via microinfusion pump and physical training with a forelimb reach-and-grasp task. We found that quipazine administration produced a significant improvement in motor performance over rats receiving physical training alone. These therapeutic gains persisted beyond the period of quipazine administration during a four-week follow up period, producing a long-term improvement in motor performance. Notably, our intervention produced the greatest gains in rats with more severe injuries over those with moderate injuries. When analyzing reach vs. grasp as individual components of total motor performance, quipazine administration produced greater gains in both measures, compared with physical training alone. Our results provide evidence for quipazine administration as a therapeutic intervention to promote long-term motor benefits in chronic SCI. Our data offers support for the role of quipazine as a modulator of the dysregulated serotonergic system in SCI, promoting functional recovery. These findings have implications for the future use of neuromodulator therapy in improving motor performance to address the needs of chronic SCI patients. Copy rights belong to original authors. On today’s episode, I welcome New York Times best-selling author and international speaker, Anita Moorjani. I have been following Anita’s amazing work for years, starting with her first book, Dying to Be Me which tells the story of her amazing near death experience when she had a terminal cancer diagnosis and her incredible road to recovery!  We start the conversation from the very beginning and her childhood and talk about her very unique experiences living, as she calls it, between three worlds and existing in three different languages. As well as the early signs of being an empath and developing a very strong inner world and seeing more than others around her. Anita explains that she didn’t always see being sensitive or shy as positive traits, particularly because of the reaction of those around her and the stories her family told. She felt different, outcast, weird. Instead of special and unique. It wasn’t until her near death experience that she realized how special and unique her life was and how everything happened for a reason - nothing was a punishment, it all happened FOR her. She realized that she was the perfect person to bridge religious and cultural differences.  We talk about the very hard loss of her friend to cancer as well as her own cancer diagnosis. Anita believes she needed that experience and diagnosis to finally start taking care of herself and stop being, as she puts it, a people-pleasing doormat. It was after that near death experience that she started to step into herself and and emodied who she truly is.   “Don’t be afraid to take care of yourself first because your light is needed in this world.”~ Anita Moorjani   Anita speaks about her new book called Sensitive is the New Strong and I had to ask her how she embodies this confidence and radiance now. She says it is because she finally realized that her sensitivity and empathy for other is a super power. Not something to feel ashamed of. She developed boundaries instead of putting everyone else first.  She is committed to helping others learn what she has learned, without having to have a near death experience. She believes it’s time for empaths to take leadership roles. The world needs your voice. It’s time to stop hiding so we can change the world. She now sees that her purpose is to take care of herself and everything else is secondary from there. I hope that you will listen as Anita talks about how to interrupt the self-sacrificing behavior so many of us can find ourselves in sometimes. One of the key ways she suggests is to connect to something bigger than yourself - the universe, God, Source, whatever you call it. And also connect with yourself. Anita wants everyone to not be afraid to take care of yourself first because your light is needed in this world. I’d love to know what you think. Please share it with your friends and family, and be sure to tag me if you share it on social media so that I can say thank you. On this very powerful episode of “The Language of Love,” Dr. Berman talks to Anita Moorjani about the loss of her son Sammy and how her grief makes people uncomfortable. If you have ever lost someone you love or you are struggling to cope with grief, this is a must-hear episode that will bring comfort and clarity to your grief journey.Moorjani has a unique perspective on death and dying, as she had a near-death experience in which she almost died from terminal cancer, only to be brought back to life and make a miraculous full recovery. (You can read about this amazing journey in Moorjani’s book, “Dying to Be Me,” which is one of Dr. Berman’s favorite books).Having been to the ‘other side,’ Moorjani offers her wisdom and perspective about what happens we die and what we can do here in the present to cope with loss. And is it possible to find connection with people who have passed on, to communicate with those who are no longer with us in physical form? Moorjani thinks we can, but we have to be sure that we are vibrating at a high frequency and in a space of lightness and openness in order to be able to receive these messages from our loved ones.Dr. Berman also delves into how difficult these past weeks have been. “Grief isn’t a straight line,” she says, explaining that while she had been previously feeling peace and comfort, she has lately been struggling with great despair. With Moorjani’s help, Dr. Berman explores these new depths of loss and offers guidance and light to anyone listening who may be dealing with the same pain and trauma.

Have you ever been told you are too sensitive? On today's episode of "The Language of Love," Dr. Laura Berman talks with the incomparable Anita Moorjani, author of "Sensitive is the New Strong” about what it means to be highly sensitive. What careers are best suited for highly sensitive? How can you tell if you are highly sensitive or if your child is? Dr. Berman and Anita Moorjani also discuss the difference between being an empath and being highly sensitive. Turns out they are not the same thing, and it is very important for people to realize the difference between the two, especially if they suspect that they might have empath qualities. Although being an empath can be very powerful and very meaningful, it also comes with risks, especially if you aren’t aware of how to harness your empath abilities. Empaths take on the emotions and energy of other people around them, literally experiencing their sorrow and anger and fear as if it is happening to them. So empaths can very easily become ungrounded and lose their connection to their own energetic state and therefore become unable to access their own personal power. And many times empaths struggle with codependency and a need to ‘fix’ other people, believing as Dr. Berman says, “If you need me, you won’t leave me.” Learn how empaths can tap into their unique strengths without falling prey to these common pitfalls on this special episode of “The Language of Love” with Anita Moorjani…and stay tuned for part two of Dr. Berman’s interview with Moorjani coming soon!

A practical and invaluable resource for sensitive people who have felt exploited or belittled, and seek to fully embrace their gifts of intuition, compassion and empathy in today's fear-based world. The New York Times bestselling author of Dying to Be Me returns with an inspirational guide for sensitive people looking to fully harness their gifts of intuition and empathy in today's harsh world. International speaker, cancer survivor, and author of Dying to Be Me Anita Moorjani astounded fans across the globe with her bestselling book about overcoming cancer and her life-changing near-death experience. Now she returns with Sensitive Is the New Strong, a powerful, heartfelt book on harnessing and fostering empathic gifts in today's difficult, fear-based world. Empaths not only sense other people's emotions, but also absorb them-sometimes to their own disadvantage, often leading to overwhelming sensory overload and feelings of confusion or low self-esteem. Their willingness to help and please others might make them prey to opportunists or cause them to give away more energy than they can afford. But Anita Moorjani argues that it's possible to turn this onslaught of emotional burden into a powerful tool. In a time when traits like sensitivity, kindness and compassion are sorely undervalued, Moorjani helps empaths-whether emerging or acknowledged-navigate obstacles they may face and identify what makes them unique. Finally, she teaches them how to claim their true powers as empaths, to be their most authentic selves, shifting their own trajectory and leading to shift the trajectory of the planet in a more conscientious direction. Filled with eye-opening personal anecdotes, insights from other empaths, meditations and self-affirming mantras, Sensitive Is the New Strong is an empowering book that demonstrates the positive power of sensitivity.

But for some who have been through near-death experiences, the question has a clear answer. ake public speaker Anita Moorjani, who shared her story with Maria Shriver on TODAY. "I believe that I died, yes — that I crossed over into the afterlife and back," said Moorjani, adding that the afterlife is "like being in a really unlimited space and time."

Anita Moorjani is a living legend.  Her Near Death Experience took her from the arms of a cancerous death to just two weeks later dancing at a friend's wedding.  This was a spiritual awakening of the most extreme kind and one that changed the course of Anita's life forever.   Why and how did this happen? How could someone be filled with cancerous tumours and in a coma one day and the next have the deepest 'knowing' that she was NOT going to die and in 'coming back' she would be completely healed? The medical profession had theories but no explanation.  Anita has chronicled her journey in her book 'Dying To Be Me' and tours the world speaking from the stage not only about her remarkable recovery but also the profound effect this has had on the way she approaches life.    Not many of us have miracles on the scale of this young woman, but we do all have the opportunity to 'go inside' ourselves and access that part of us that knows 'exactly' how to heal our mind, body and spirit.  That place inside us that is free of all the conditioning, the programming, the 'buying into' other people's expectations of how we 'should' lead our lives.  The voices in our heads are so present and so  loud for most of us that we are unaware that the 'real' us, that being of immense power, joy, magnificence, adventure and love is patiently waiting to be accessed.  Anita Moorjani generously shares with us her belief that each of us can have our own 'spiritual awakening' that will unleash in us a force that can never be capped and that will allow us to live a life of freedom - on our own terms.   This is a story of rejection, emotional pain, fear, illness, love and eventually choice.
