The Nursing Co-op podcast is a fantastic resource for nursing students and professionals alike. As someone still in nursing school, I have found this podcast to be incredibly educational and enlightening. What sets it apart from other nursing podcasts is its ability to explain what life as a nurse is really like. The host does an amazing job of being real and honest about her experiences, which helps listeners truly understand the gravity of the profession.

One of the best aspects of The Nursing Co-op podcast is the host's openness and candor. She shares personal stories and insights that give listeners a firsthand glimpse into the world of nursing. This authenticity creates a connection between the host and her audience, making it easier to relate to the topics being discussed. Additionally, the host promotes self-care in a non-preachy way, emphasizing its importance for nurses' well-being. This focus on self-care adds depth to the podcast and reinforces the idea that taking care of oneself is essential in such a demanding career.

While there are many positive aspects of The Nursing Co-op podcast, there are not many negative aspects to mention. However, if I were to pinpoint one potential downside, it would be that some episodes may be too intense or heavy for certain listeners. As aspiring nurses, we must confront the reality that our job can involve difficult situations and high-stakes decisions. While this podcast does an excellent job at highlighting these aspects, it may make some individuals nervous or apprehensive about entering the field.

In conclusion, The Nursing Co-op podcast is an outstanding show that provides valuable insights into the world of nursing. Whether you are a student or already working as a nurse, this podcast offers educational content with an authentic perspective on what it means to be a nurse. With its informative episodes and emphasis on self-care, The Nursing Co-op has become an invaluable resource for me as I continue my journey in nursing school. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the nursing profession.

It sounds simple, but the clothes we wear on our weight loss journey can make a huge difference. Too often, our tendency is to hide our body in baggy clothes, dark colors, and clothes that just don't fit "until we lose the weight." This sets us up for failure, and impedes any progress we might make. It's the classic "I'll be happy when..." idea, and it doesn't work. Dressing in clothing that fits your body, gives you shape, and aligns with your individual style can make an enormous impact. It's time we honor your incredible body, and stop trying to hide out of fear of "unworthiness." 288. NURSES - The Weight Loss Industry is GASLIGHTING You

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 1, 2024 17:27

Let's dive into a topic that's been on my mind a lot lately: weight loss gaslighting. I may have made this term up, but the impact is very real. It's a critical look at how the weight loss industry has a habit of pointing fingers at individuals for their weight loss challenges, completely overlooking the myriad of underlying health issues that could be at play. Instead of looking at flaws in our programming, obstacles we need to overcome, or root causes in the body that need to be addressed, the industry calls you lazy, unmotivated, or undisciplined. It's a narrative that's all too common, and it's time we rewrite the story. It's not just about the numbers on the scale; it's about the overall well-being of the individual. No one knows your body better than you do (even if they have more certifications, degrees, or letters after their name) and it's time we advocate for ourselves and learn how to trust our own intuition. Next week we will be answering more of your questions, so ask YOUR question RIGHT HERE for me answer LIVE on the show! The Ashley O Show community is a space where nurses and caregivers come together to understand that their identity extends beyond the humans that they care for. Let's talk about SEX, baby! This episode is so freaking important, and so many of us are ashamed to even give words to this. Nurses - an absent sex drive is a red flag. Despite what you may have been told, it's not just because you're getting older, it's not just a normal part of a long marriage, it's not about scheduling it. It's an indicator that your nervous system (and your hormones) are screaming for help. Too many nurses are spending 24 hours a day in fight-or-flight with zero chill. You can only function so long in never-ending fight-or-flight. And one of the tell-tale signs of a burnt out nervous system is low libido. So today I want to give you a few simple strategies to manage your stress so that you can get back to getting it on.
