A former Dentist has been found guilty of murdering his wife by poisoning her morning protein shakes. This case comes from the state of Colorado, where a Denver resident, named James Craig, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, Angela Craig, two years after her mysterious death. But, not only was Craig convicted of murder, but also of several other counts, including solicitation to commit murder, which came about when he tried to enlist a fellow inmate to kill the lead detective investigating his wife's death. And to make matters worse, at one point Craig asked one of his six daughters to create a fake video of her mom asking for the ingredients which ultimately led to her death in hopes of being found not guilty! To delve deeper into the details of this bizarre case, Kieran is by American Journalist and Host of the ‘Hidden True Crime' Podcast and YouTube Channel, Lauren Matthias.
This episode explores whether the modern millennial's embrace of stoicism, rigorous health routines, and padel reflects a genuine search for meaning or a set of coping mechanisms that ultimately fall short. Has the rise of self-discipline and structured lifestyles created a more resilient generation, or has it led to a quiet sense of emptiness masked by routine? We examine the social and psychological roots of these trends, asking whether the appeal of ancient philosophy, physical optimisation, and curated leisure is a response to instability or a retreat from vulnerability and connection.

Anyone remember those “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books that were crazy popular in the 90s? Well…this conversation, just two Youngstown (Ohio) boys talking about protein beverages, entrepreneurship, and life, was my version of those heartwarming, motivating, and relatable stories included within those books. And that's because…I've always greatly respected (and been inspired by) Christopher Hunter, from his authenticity and transparency to his evolving professional journey and consistent personal alignment with the beverage brands he's built. And in this current chapter, Chris Hunter is leading the plant-based protein brand Koia…which was actually a “proof of concept” he initially discovered more than a decade ago when investing in better-for-you food and beverage companies. Though, more recently…Koia has grown into a market leader, expanding rapidly across the retail landscape, and pushing the boundaries of innovation. And with protein becoming more central to consumers…Chris Hunter has utilized crucial (personal insights) to identify gaps in the market and is taking Koia into new spaces (and formats) while staying true to what its target consumers want. They discuss the evolution of dietary assessment paradigms, from calorie counting to the glycemic index, and introduce the concept of satiety in modern diet planning. Dr. Eenfeldt introduces HAVA, a new app designed to simplify diet tracking using an innovative algorithm that scores foods based on four key factors: protein content, energy density, fiber, and hedonic value. The app utilizes AI technology for food identification and personalized guidance, making it user-friendly and highly effective for weight management and metabolic health. Highlighting the detrimental role of ultra-processed foods in weight gain, Dr. Eenfeldt explains how higher satiety foods can naturally help reduce calorie intake without hunger. Beyond noting the obvious increased brand competition when predicting that 2025 would have a crazy marketplace setup developing within RTD protein beverages, I believed that mass and grocery retailers could start giving these products more placements outside of the typical healthy living/pharmacy merchandising sets. But while that remains to be seen within upcoming spring resets, there might be a new dark horse competitor that's already starting to make waves in the refrigerated dairy space. Because while shelf-stable RTD protein beverages are arguably superior for a multitude of business reasons, many of those challenges can more easily be overcome by a large-scale yogurt brand like Chobani. In launching its new protein-forward yogurt drinks, Chobani is hoping to position itself within the prefect intersection of GLP-1 second-order effects and grocery protein-ification.
In this episode, Chris William shares why he rarely reaches for protein shakes and instead opts for wholefoods to hit his protein targets. For years, I thought nutrition had to be all or nothing… you either perfectly tracked your food, followed a strict diet, or you were "failing." I spent so much time overthinking every meal, trying to find the “perfect” way to eat, only to end up feeling stressed, guilty, and frustrated.I thought true health meant rigid rules, obsessive tracking, and pushing myself to stick to the latest diet trend. But the truth? Nutrition should be about fueling your body, building strength, and creating habits that support your life, not controlling every bite.In today's episode, I'm answering your top nutrition questions: from intermittent fasting, to how to actually hit your protein goals, to healing your relationship with food in a way that feels empowering, not exhausting. If you've ever struggled with overcomplicating nutrition, feeling lost with protein targets, or rebuilding trust with your body, this episode is for you!I Also Discuss:(00:00) Nutrition Myths You Still Believe (and What Actually Works)(07:41) How Much Protein You REALLY Need (Without Going Crazy)(16:17) Healing Your Relationship With Food (Without Strict Diets)(18:07) Navigating Sobriety When Your Partner Still Drinks(24:47) Why Broads Is Different: Strength Over ScalThank You to Our Sponsors:Broads App – Get structured, progressive training and a powerhouse community to keep you strong, consistent, and unstoppable.
