Keep that in mind the next time you list your priorities. Learn from the mistakes of others. Everybody works to make money to live. If I can help you figure out a way to generate money doing the thing that you do in your free time, that to me is good business. Self interest benefits the individual but hurts the collective in the short term, but in the long run it’s the opposite, the individual will hurt while the collective will benefit. These days information is not considered valuable because you technically don’t have to work for it, you just open your phone and there it is. Be open to the idea that you can be wrong and it will still be ok Eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind, know what I’m sayin’? Don’t block out what people have to say, hear it, understand it, be grateful for it. People who want you to fail don’t tell you the truth If you’re not willing to invest in yourself, you will have a hard time accomplishing pretty much anything. In the #AskASoccerPro Show 11 year MLS vet Quincy Amarikwa breaks down the MSL (Mental Strength League), an ongoing game that he believes he and everyone else is a conscious or unconscious participant. Results should speak for themselves, stats don’t lie but people can use the stats to lie. The hardest thing to deal with as a pro is not getting the credit you think you’ve earned. This is where your mental strength comes into play. If you learn how to manage your time, you will have the extra time you need to learn the other things that will help set you apart from your competition. Work with optimism but prepare with pessimism. Any adversity you face is just an opportunity for you to grow and improve. Nobody has your best interest in mind if they don’t teach you how they beat you! The more you practice your craft, the more your confidence will grow. Negativity is just someone else’s insecurities projected onto you. Always come with a perspective of open mindedness and a willingness to learn. One of the biggest reasons why players feel nervous before a game is their lack of confidence in their abilities due to lack of preparation. Making mistakes is required if you want to improve. Your job is to learn from your mistakes and not repeat them. Making small steps of progress, over a period of time will add up to big results. Money makes things easier for people. Little issues compounded over time turn into big problems. You need to do the work especially when you don’t feel like doing the work. You can go over all the technical drills and spend all your time practicing but at the end of the day it’s all about who wins the mental strength battle. If you can keep a clear head during the negative moments you will shine during the positive ones. Sometimes a “slap to the face” can do wonders for people. If you compare yourself to others you will never measure up because you’ll never have all the information. The only person you should compare yourself to is who you are and the work you’re putting in to become who you want to become. In the #AskASoccerPro Show 11 year MLS vet Quincy Amarikwa breaks down the MSL (Mental Strength League), an ongoing game that he believes he and everyone else is a conscious or unconscious participant. This is a philosophy and mindset he has developed, refined and implemented over the course of his life and now 11+ year professional soccer career...And what he attributes to finding success in his personal, business and soccer endeavors… Resulting in the creation of the “Amarikwa Process.” A 7-step mindset process Quincy refers to when tackling any endeavor or meeting new, temporary obstacles. If you don’t implement the lessons you learn from others for yourself (take risks), you will never truly know if what they taught you is true or not. Just because it didn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean the same won’t work for you. Everyone’s experience is their own. To best be strategic with your time, first learn from the mistakes of others. For anything to stand the test of time it has to be built on a foundation of principles. Something that holds true when things are good AND when things are bad. Relevancy is directly correlated to knowledge and your ability to extract it’s value at a certain point in time. For example, knowing how to produce vinyl records is much less valuable today than it was 30 years ago. Just because something is rare does not make it valuable. Knowledge becomes wisdom when you learn how to pass it onto others so they can create the same experience for themselves. You will never be able to progress if you are not self aware. In order to get “there”, you need to know where are you going, and that is where setting goals comes into play. Success does not come without sacrifice, and most people aren’t willing to make sacrifices because they choose short-term comfort over long term happiness. In the #AskASoccerPro Show 11 year MLS vet Quincy Amarikwa breaks down the MSL (Mental Strength League), an ongoing game that he believes he and everyone else is a conscious or unconscious participant. Best Quotes From Episode: Learn how to learn. In this age of information, that is one of the most valuable skills you can develop. Reaching success isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be able to maintain it. Never allow yourself to become complacent. Confidence is the result of putting in the reps. Most people don’t put in the reps because they are afraid of making mistakes. Can you afford your mistakes? How do you know? At the end of the day, we’re all investors. Everyone may not have money to invest, but everyone has time. Never be afraid, or ashamed of asking questions or for help. Best Quotes From Episode: You are much more likely to regret not doing something you want to do, than to do it and fail in the process. Most people spend their time avoiding making mistakes, and I believe that’s a mistake, because mistakes are validations of progress. Reaching success is one thing, maintaining that success is a whole different ball game. You will have to make sacrifices in your life, the difference is whether you choose your sacrifice or not. Use the resources around you to the best of your ability, creativity will help you both on and off the field. If YOU need something, figure out what YOU can do to make it happen and do that. (Focus only on what you can control) Injuries are a part of the game, and they will happen. Accepting that is the first step of keeping a good mindset when injured. Any time spent complaining and blaming anyone around you is energy taken away from figuring out a solution to your obstacle. Playing to win and playing not to lose are two different worlds. Understanding the difference is what winners figure out. It’s easy to be positive when everything is going your way, character is who you choose to be when things aren’t going your way. The longer you procrastinate on the things you know you need to do, the further the competition will get in front of you Doesn’t matter if you have 5 dollars or 5000000 dollars, the process of budgeting your percentage allocation should be the same. Your level of discipline in making decisions with a 5 dollar budget will determine your ability (or lack of ability) to manage 5000000, 50000000 and more. YOU decide what perspective you are going to take on whatever comes up, good or bad. Thinking positive and being optimistic will help you get started in overcoming obstacles but you still need to put in the work. Thinking isn’t doing. Best Quotes From Episode: If you train yourself to do the things that you hate doing, you are going to create opportunities for yourself to do the things that you love. Trick your mind into taking any negative state in this moment as fuel for personal motivation to get you where you want to go Failure happens only if you decide to give up. If you make a mistake, self-reflect and implement what you’ve learned moving forward, that is not a failure, that’s progress. “Fake it till you make it” may work in the short term, but what happens when people learn that you are faking it in the long term? Most people are trying to make other people like them, and they think the best way to do that is to agree with whatever the other person says in that moment. That hurts you and them in the long term. Short term pain for long term prosperity. You can get whatever you want in life if you help as many people get what they want in life. In the #AskASoccerPro Show 11 year MLS vet Quincy Amarikwa breaks down the MSL (Mental Strength League), an ongoing game that he believes he and everyone else is a conscious or unconscious participant. This is a philosophy and mindset he has developed, refined and implemented over the course of his life and what he attributes to finding success in his personal, business, team and soccer endeavors… Resulting in the creation of the “Amarikwa Process.” A 7-step process Quincy refers to when tackling any endeavor or meeting new, temporary obstacles. What if the future was right in front of you face but you didn’t believe it, does it mean it doesn’t exist? How you interpreted the words being spoken and what the person meant when saying them are two different things. Consistency and dedication over time yield results. No one has your perspective but you, which is what makes it very valuable. You can be the best student of the game and learn everything there is about soccer, but if you don’t apply what you’ve learned it won't matter. Self-awareness is your ability to recognize your strengths, your weaknesses, your advantages and disadvantages. So self awareness is understanding where you are, when you are, and starting to formulate a plan to get to where you want to be. Whatever your course of action might be, you need to have consistency in doing it, otherwise you are set to fail from the beginning. Nothing worth achieving comes easy. If everything is given to you, you don’t value anything. If you don’t value anything, nothing has any worth to you. You won’t have a purpose and you'll never feel fulfilled. It’s harder to get out of that than to start in a disadvantageous position in the first place. We need to improve who we are and the things we do, to become the type of person who will earn the things that we say we want. Try not to allow the pursuit of being a goalscorer, cloud your decision making on the field. I believe the way to play the game is to know what you’re good at, you know what your job is, and you do it well. The higher up in the ranks you progress, the less time you have to make decisions on the field. You need to focus on you, and what you need to do to get better. Believing that you are the best is a good thing but there is a difference between self delusion and self confidence. The problems you face on the soccer field are probably the same problems you face off the field. If you are not good at communicating off the field, how would you expect to be good at it in the heat of a game? There are win - win situations all the time, but not in soccer. We can draw, but we can’t both win. Best Quotes From Episode: Those who doubt themselves tend to spend a lot of time doing so, instead of working on the things they need to do or put in place to avoid that doubt in the future. It’s ok to only be hungry for individual rewards, but know that doing so will require you to be ok with alone. You want to seek situations that force you to adapt, grow and overcome. At the youth and college level the game is fun. Once money is introduced to the equation, there is a different level of expectation from you and everyone around you. Most players can’t adapt because they focus on how they wish it should be, rather than prepare for how it actually is. I approach every day with the effort, motivation and learning eye like it’s my first practice. There is no avoiding the work, there is no special pill or trick, it usually is doing the simple things well, and doing them over and over and over and over... If you need motivation to do something, you are never going to do anything long enough to find success. You need to find a REASON WHY you will do something even when you’re not motivated. If you enjoy doing something, at the very least find a way to make it more than just entertainment What separates the players that progress from the players that regress, is procrastination. If you can learn to find purpose and a point of view that will be beneficial to you in the future, every piece of information you take in is potentially useful. If things out of your control are holding you back, you have one option: accept it and decide if the outcome is worth it or not. If it is, stop complaining, if it isn’t, find something else. Slow and steady wins the race, the problem is, people want to win now at the expense of being able to also win later. MSL of the day: Even when I lose, I win! Optimistic futurist! Recorded on January 25, 2019 On this episode of New Business Paradigms, Rinaldo discusses the economic impacts of the longest government shutdown in history, outlines why it’s been a disaster for the US federal workforce, for the middle class more broadly, and has weakened confidence in the US Government.  While the shutdown ended as Rinaldo and Kristy were wrapping up the show, the detrimental effects of this ill-conceived buffoonery will reverberate for years to come.  The conversation also explores some of the other hidden costs of the US political turmoil then expands out to discuss unrest in Venezuela, Chinese growth numbers, Brexit and the contracting British economy, instability in Europe, and other economic woes on the horizon.   On the flip side, Rinaldo and Kristy also announce details of the new weekly radio show “Solutions News”, live Fridays from 5-6PM PST, with recorded replays over the weekend, and podcasts posted on Mondays.  E-mail them at info@worldbusiness.org for more ways to listen.

Two days late, but we are here! We believe this is a keynote episode for season 2 - everyone who has been approached by a "hunbot" (which we define in the episode for those new to the movement) needs to have a few responses in their arsenal of replies so no one feels obligated to engage in their sales pitches. Sasha and Katie discuss some of the more common manipulative approaches MLM reps may use to guilt you into a sale or joining their team, but they also ensure that the responses they suggest you can use are RESPECTFUL to the rep. It should never be our intention to bully them or go out of our way to hurt them. Most of them are victims of the MLM structure themselves. Wow, wow, wow! They actually did it. They said it would be a historic moment and Malcolm made it happen. Ok, maybe this season will redeem itself after all. This one had a little bit of everything. Everyone had a role to play in Episode 10. Dawn cried, brayed, lost her teeth, and cried some more. Brenda was a hero and retrieved the teeth. Cochran turned on Dawn and declared himself a challenge monster. Sherri made sure no one would consider her a threat in the challenges. Andrea declared her over confidence. Eddie stayed positive, and it payed off. Reynold dominated the challenges, again. Malcolm found yet another OPII, played two, and made a dream come true. Erik may have stolen the show when he switched alliances. What is next for the three amigos? Do you think any of them have a chance? What is next for Sherri and Erik? Do you see any advantage for them to switch alliances? Do you think Dawn will able to hold on? How will the season change now that Phillip is gone? Who do you think will save their money for the advantage in the auction? Who is in your final three now? Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 10. That makes two blindsides in a row. One more and we will have ourselves an official streak. With a seven to three advantage, it would appear that the majority alliance has this one in the bag. Andrea and Eddie were not the only ones getting their flirt on this episode. Philllip looked like he was putting the full court press on Sherri too. Was that just strategy or is that leopard print bikini working its magic on the Specialist? Michael is the first member of the jury, so the Ponderosa videos are back! According to what we heard in the Corinne interview, Dawn has been struggling emotionally throughout the game. We saw what happened when Brandon called her out. What would happen if Malcolm confronted her? What are the chances that Dawn pulls herself from the game? What happens to Cochran if Dawn is gone? Can you see any way for the three underdogs, (Malcolm, Reynold and Eddie), to find a way to the finale now? Everyone thinks they flushed the last idol. Will that buy Malcolm some time? Who is most likely to flip on the majority alliance first? Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 9. Let the blindsides begin! The feud between Corrine and Phillip has been settled. Lucky for secret agent underpants that Dawn is so sentimental about the anniversary of her undoing back in Survivor South Pacific courtesy of Cochran. If she had not already been so anxious and maudlin, she might have welcomed Corrine's plan and saw it as a way to move up the chain above Andrea. At least she took some action this time. Looks like Dawn has grown from her previous experience. You don't have to be a Cochran fan to be happy for his win tonight. That was a truly impressive display of eating prowess. Now that the favs have turned on each other, do you think the chances look better for the fans? What's a plausible cover story for Malcolm? Where do you see Brenda and Erik in the favs alliance? Is there still a chance they could flip? How do you think Malcolm and Reynold should play the OPIIs? Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 8. It takes a lot of energy to maintain a delusion. This week, it looked like Phillip's fantasy world had really started to take a toll on him. It was a great testament to his strength that he lasted to day 17, but had he been forced to stay in separate tribes for much longer, it might have been the end of his game. Of course, that kind of weakness could become a strength at the merge when it does not pay to stand out as a physical threat. For all the time wasted on Phillip's charades, it was great to see underdog Malcolm make some progress on increasing his chances to make it to the end. What do you think about the possibility of that fantastic four making it to the end together? Do you think Phillip threw the challenge, or is his world starting to fall apart a little? Who do you think will be impacted the most by the merge? Will anyone's chances to make it to the end dramatically improve? Will the Favs be able to hold it together? Who will win in the battle between Corinne and Phillip? How confident are you that Phillip is delusional? Would you get rid of Phillip or try to carry him to the end again as the perfect goat? With the merge imminent, who do you think will be the members of the dominant alliance? Here are the tribes after episode 7.
