Glück aufs Ohr
Einfach erklärt: Das ist eine Corporate Identity, Teil 01

Glück aufs Ohr

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 17, 2020 24:17

Quiz 2. Mit all deinen persönlichen Merkmalen. Sieh dir deine Persönlichkeit an. Ziehst du dich in dein Schneckenhaus zurück? Was bringt Dir eine Corporate Identity? 1. Juhu! “When you run your own business, not everything is going to be perfect … there’s going to be days when there are losses and you have to understand that, as a business person, that’s part of the risk that you take … that’s probably one of the biggest learning things — just trust the process and put your faith into it.” — Sasha SeniorCovid-19 has created an interesting era for business. While many businesses have unfortunately been forced to shutter, others have found ways to adapt to the new normal ... or even grow! Sasha Senior actually LAUNCHED her business at the start of the pandemic, and her story is both a source of inspiration and a practical guide to savvy entrepreneurship.A skateboarder since the age of 13, Sasha had never dreamed about owning a business — until she realized that Windsor did not have a local skate shop. It was a golden opportunity that she couldn’t pass up.She researched costs and found a perfect location, opening in March of 2020 — the start of the global pandemic and economic shutdown. Yet she managed to not only stay open, but thrive.By the time of her grand opening, people were getting orders to stay home. “We probably had less than 10 people, including staff, and it was because of those orders,” she remembers. “So, it was a little discouraging. But it was still awesome, because I still had my first sale that day.” When full lockdown began, she knew that she had to go online. She found the transition challenging, but didn’t let that stop her. She used her Instagram and Facebook profiles to guide people to the new online offerings, offering both curbside pickup and delivery. The community was responsive and continued to support the shop, likely because they recognized Sasha’s passion in addition to the convenience of finally having a local shop catering to their sport. But Windsor skaters weren’t the only ones making orders.Sasha soon found herself shipping to places like Jamaica, Mexico, and California. Through her Instagram, she managed to create an amazing international community that has translated to almost overwhelming sales. How did Sasha achieve this incredible success — and what practices has she adopted to better handle the major changes in her life? In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌How Sasha leveraged her Instagram account to build an international audience hungry for her productsMindfulness practices to help you handle swift business growth The major lessons that Sasha learned through opening during a pandemic — and why she would do it againAbout Sasha SeniorSasha is carving a new path as an entrepreneur. Lafayette Parish Mayor-President Josh Guillory joined Jan Swift of Discover Lafayette to discuss his first year of service to the community. Guillory took office on January 6, 2020, and has faced unprecedented challenges this year as the coronavirus rolled in with its ensuing physical and economic chaos, the oil and gas market collapsed, several hurricanes hit our region, and civil unrest erupted after the fatal police shooting of Trayford Pellerin. A young man who will turn 38 on January 8, 2021, Guillory is a graduate of the U. S. Airborne School and earned his wings in 2004. He comes from a family who proudly served, harking back to his paternal grandfather who was a WWI Vet, his maternal grandfather who was a WWII Vet, and his brother who served in the Air Force. Guillory served in Baghdad, Iraq as a Cavalry platoon leader. He credits his time in the military for teaching him how to make decisions, saying he was told in Officer Candidate School, "If you'll learn anything, you will learn how to make decisions!" While working as a pharmaceutical representative and juggling the responsibilities of raising three young children with his wife, Guillory earned his law degree from Southern University Law Center while working full time and attending school at night. He credits his work in pharmaceuticals for equipping him to better understand medical issues associated with the pandemic. Hospitals are once again at surge capacity, and immediately prior to our interview, Guillory hosted a press conference with hospital officials who reiterated that the community must follow COVID guidelines such as mask-wearing, washing hands, social distancing, and quarantining if exposed to someone with the virus. Guillory has realized that a small percentage of the people think everything should be shut down in order to get a grip on the pandemic, another small percentage think it is a hoax, and an overwhelming majority just want to strike a balance so that we can keep going. "Personal responsibility is the absolute # 1 tool in fighting COVID-19. We all know what to do and we should comply. Wash your hands like you are cleaning up after eating crawfish and putting in your contact lens," Guillory says. "Personal responsibility is the absolute # 1 tool in fighting COVID-19. We all know what to do and we should comply. Wear your mask. Wash your hands like you are cleaning up after eating crawfish and putting in your contact lens," Guillory says. Guillory has remained steadfast in his commitment to do more with less while not raising taxes and to focus on his core priorities of improving drainage, roads, and public safety. Handling the pandemic has been an all-consuming priority and has also resulted in delaying the hiring of a few key hires such as permanent directors for LUS, LUS Fiber, and the Parks Department. While Guillory prefers to hire local, he also wants to ensure that the best possible candidates are vetted and the pandemic has made interviewing tough. The new Lafayette City Chief of Police is about to be named, and Guillory is proud that two local people were hired to oversee the newly created Drainage and Transportation, Roads and Bridges Departments, which were carved out of the former Public Works Department. This year's budget adds 11 positions to the Drainage Department, which fulfills Guillory's promise to prioritize improving drainage. When asked to address the cuts made to arts and culture, Guillory stressed the importance of tapping into all stakeholder groups with an interest in maintaining the quality of offerings while also taking into consideration the constraints of the budget. With the recent defeat of the two tax propositions which would have allowed greater budget flexibility in spending operating fund (discretionary) dollars, Guillory stated that public/private partnerships are more important than ever if projects are to be adequately funded. He emphasized his appreciation for the arts,

By now you may have picked up on the fact that I am a sucker for a reliable system. My signature program is called the Art Business Success System for a reason — systems work. They provide you with a framework that, once in place, you can return to repeatedly and update to match where you are at any given moment in your art business. I love figuring out systems, maybe even more than I love following them because systems are always there to support my progress. And my guest today has proven that a clearly defined system can take your art business to the next level. Sema Martin is a full-time artist living in the French Riviera. She currently has a four-month waiting list for her pet portraits, which is due in part to the flawless 8-step system that she has developed that keeps her organized and keeps her customers satisfied. In our conversation, Sema shares the system that she has in place for her commission-based business. We walk through the eight stages of commissioning work from her, which are clearly outlined on her website. We discuss how she standardized her sizes, how she makes it easy for clients to buy from her by offering multiple currencies, and how social media serves a dual purpose to both promote her work and to share her progress with clients. You’ll hear how she stays organized and at the end of this episode you can find out how to get a copy of her system spreadsheet. We basically have the same story over and over again, pundits are concerned about the second wave of the Coronavirus and as we’re recording this, we have a change of regimen of government, and a new president starting in January. What does that mean for the markets? The concern is abounding and there is record cash, yet the market continues to go higher just as we predicted on this podcast weeks ago. So the BIG question is… where do we go now? That's what we're going to dissect on today’s show! Don’t miss it! You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in...Record highs [1:14]Impossible timing [2:47]Economic data -vs- the news [4:44]Handling a downturn [7:01]The Tipping Point [8:59]Fear around investing in the market [10:33]Too much risk [12:40]Millennials aren’t 20 anymore and they’re playing catch up [14:31]Hidden Facts of Finance [17:03]What creative destruction is around the corner? [18:43]Finding a needle in a haystack [20:42]Embracing a history that creates wealthIf we know about it— if it's in the press, it's in the price— the market knows about it too, it's not ignoring that. It's the difference between being an informed, educated investor and just waking up every day and making it up as you go. When you look at the historical returns of the market and you look at the history of our economy, it always grows. If you make a projection of where the S&P, Dow, Russell 2000 or Ethereum Indexes will be in the next 10 years, we'll tell you one thing we know— it's going to be higher. We don't know when it's going to go higher, but it will be higher. It's just a matter of educating yourself on the history of the market. Understanding how the market is always discounting future revenues and future earnings and looking at volatility differently. People shouldn't be afraid of it, they should be embracing it because that's how you create wealth. Interested in hearing more? Check out the episode to see all the brilliant things we have to share! This week on the tipping point: managing riskManaging risk is one of the most crucial elements of a successful wealth plan. So we thought we’d break down what risk really means to your portfolio. How do you really manage it? Risk is something that's only truly recognized in hindsight. When you think about risk, it's the possibility of something bad happening. No one likes bad things, right? If you're always avoiding something bad then you’re sitting on your hands and inertia causes you to do nothing. But risk does cut both ways so if you're sitting on your hands, in this case, you're sitting in cash. That insidious tax inflation's going to eat away at your purchasing power and you probably won’t be able to retire as early as you’d like. Check out the episode to hear about the flip side of that when you take too much risk! This week’s hidden facts of financeEvery week Ryan goes out of his way to make a point that investing in the S&P 500 is not a one-stop-shop when it comes to investing. The detail that a lot of investors are missing is that it's a global economy and China is coming on strong. Right now there are 119 homegrown electrical vehicle companies in China. They have 1.4 billion potential customers that might be buying upcoming Chinese cars over Tesla cars. Handling all of BXK’s production with eclectic beats and pop melodies, BreeKay is an artist, songwriter, and producer. The two girls combine their diverse skill sets to form BXK (or BreeKay x Kasairi). Their music is the perfect example of what the two girls set out to do: bring a fresh and honest perspective to their listeners both lyrically and sonically, be there for their listeners with a relatable story, and make their listeners feel all of the feels. Harry Styles made history on Friday (Nov. 13) as the first solo man to grace the cover of Vogue, but some haters weren't loving the star's parade of gender-blurring looks in the fashion bible. "There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence," conservative commentator Candace Owens wrote while retweeting the photo shoot. "It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men." Collaboration is quickly becoming more important than ever in today’s unpredictable supply chain.  In today’s episode, Craig Brown and Thom Singer welcome Product Development IT Director at DRiV Incorporated and Digital Enterprise Society board member Adam Specht and Jim Schwarz, founder and director at Intersphere Industries.  Together they discuss the importance of collaboration and supply chain, and the integration of suppliers to minimize risk and optimize return despite constant industry disruptions.    On today’s podcast, you will learn about: Handling industry disruption Change inevitably comes with an industry maturity curve combined with technical breakthroughs. Global supply chain is an integrated network that easily adapts to more stable markets.  Relationships and security are key to successful industrial manufacturing.    The role of PLM in supply chain The true cost of supplies include tariffs and other legal considerations. PLM creates greater flexibility to pivot when disruptions come.  Supply chains need to identify alternative options when suppliers become unavailable.    Understanding collaboration and risk management Effective collaboration requires identifying relationships with other companies.  Capacity collaborations work to maximize leverage and minimize risk. Mutual interest can no longer be the main basis for collaboration.  PLM is only successful if the organizations using the tools know how to use their ERP. Risk can actively be managed at the data level without even knowing the risks.   Key indicators within risk management, collaboration and PLM Greater risk management is needed when companies have uncontrolled and unmanaged inventory.  Constant warranty returns indicate that greater risk management is needed.  Effective collaboration can be measured by flexibility metrics. The speed of change from both volume and design perspective is essential. Current logistics has had a great impact on single sourcing.  Do you have an example of extraordinary efforts or innovation during these unprecedented times? We would love to hear your story and possibly interview you for an upcoming episode. Please reach out to us at www.DigitalEnterpriseSociety.org

I would argue that no one has taught more people to heliski powder than Robert Koell, aka Roko. The Austrian skier grew up skiing to school and ski racing in his uncle’s ski school at a resort his dad built. He was a coach for the Austrian ski team and arrived at Canadian Mountain Holidays in 1989 with a plan to spend a year learning English before returning to coaching. More than 30 years later, he’s still guiding with CMH, rotating through the operation’s stable of lodges. He’s written training programs for CMH’s powder masters, enabling skiers in their 80s and even 90s to stay on skis. And he’s able to break down the techniques required to rip pow into bite-sized morsels revolving around the notion of up-and-down movement, creating a solid platform in soft snow, focusing on angulation of joints and eliminating bad habits.  2:45: Skied to school as a 3-year-old in Austria’s Tirol. 3:50: Injury as a ski racer pushed him into coaching.  4:45: Coaching for the Austrian ski team from 1986 to 1989.  6:02: Decides to stay with CMH 8:14: Powder is an interesting medium, with all ranges of shapes, weights and feels.  9:00: Subtle difference between skiing hard pack and skiing powder “Build your own platform.” 10:00: Dispelling the myth that skiing powder is for experts. Experts can ski chopped powder. Untrammeled powder is for everyone.  12:15: Equally weighted versus weighting each ski.  14:20: Overcoming intimidation by “seeing obstacles as friends.” 15:30: Give people the feeling they are in control and "the scary things aren’t so scary any more.” 16:40: Balancing the need for speed and control in powder. 20:00: Motion is lotion. Don’t be static on skis.  20:25: Vertical movement is the heartbeat of skiing.  21:50: But keep vertical movement in a range. Not too high. Not too low. 22:12: Handling the “fall-line effect.” 24:20: Use small, linked turns to control speed in powder and maintain equal weight on both skis.  26:50: Use bone structure to weight and unweight skis.  28:30: Effective up-and-down movement using bone structure and momentum.  31:00 Building CMH’s “Powder Masters Program” to help veteran clients in their 80s keep skiing into their 90s.  34:40: Best advice is to think about angulation in shoulders, hips, knees and ankles.  36:30: Every learning process begins with destruction.  38:10: Learn the soft hockey stop to butter through sketchy terrain and variable snow.

This Christmas won't be like the ones you have curated and cherished. This is a holiday during a pandemic and we are having a universal experience of learning what that can look like.  As moms, we do most of the Christmas planning. We have gifts lists, treats, parties planned, gatherings set up. This job is often an exhausting one but one that we go through every year because we are always longing for those special moments of joy, hope and connectedness that are possible.  Christmas during covid means the plans we make, the gatherings, the parties are all going to look different.  That is hard to accept. We long for what we know and what feels like Christmas to us.  This year means teaching ourselves new ways to feel Christmas.  If you are like most moms, and myself, it is a hard task to think outside the box, beyond our expectations and get excited about something different when we have this idea in our mind of what Christmas SHOULD be.  The first step here is to acknowledge your expectations. Because here is the issue - we have a lot of expectations - about who does what and how they act and how they feel, and what we will get to do, and all the ideals we have in the back of our mind. We might not be fully aware of them.  But trying to be proactive by noticing them before they go unmet (=resentment) the more we can manage them ahead of time. This includes letting unrealistic ones go, AND taking responsibility for making them happen.    In this episode: Handling your Christmas expectations  Where 'all or nothing thinking' can keep you stuck and blocked off Two things that can bring more intentionality into your Christmas: values and the bucket list How to use these two things in a way that works for you and your family Letting yourself feel disappointed about the Christmas you had hoped for Finding ways to take your power back and plan a Christmas you can get excited about   All of this is unpacked in the Simple Christmas Planner. Which is designed to walk you through designing, planning and DOING your Christmas with intention and in a way that works for you and your family. Because the goal is to have a Christmas season that you can SHOW UP for, one that you can feel present for, one that you can actively enjoy in the moment! This doesn't JUST HAPPEN, you need to do it with intention.    Full transcript at the bottom of this post.    Links mentioned: The Live your VALUES worksheets The Facebook community group Say hi on Instagram The ON PURPOSE workbooks (Simple Christmas Planner)   Episode Transcript Episode main topics: Christmas, expectations, planner, kids, plan, values, Christmases, year, excited, happen, podcast, family, simple, talk, list, intentional, feel, purposeful, bucket list, purpose Welcome to the Simple on Purpose Podcast! This podcast is your check-in your regular reminder, your regular coffee date with me, where I remind you to bring it all back to simplify, slow down and show up for your life, the life right in front of you, you are allowed to enjoy it. Today I want to talk about an issue that we're all edging into. And that's Christmas. I'm in Canada. So we've had snow for a while where I live. We're all thinking about Christmas, I see Christmas trees in the windows around the neighbourhood. Christmas music is popping up on the playlist. My kids are trying to play it - everyone's just getting ready for Christmas. But without really knowing what to expect, right? And I know each province, each state, each country is going through something a little bit differently. I will say though I am done my Christmas shopping, I'm so proud of that I didn't want to rely on a lot of shipping. So I went to the stores. In early November, I had a list I stuck to the list and made a budget I stuck to the budget I'm really proud of myself. One thing that we have adopted here is to do the for gifts for our kids where it's something you want so...

If you want to live the life of freedom and get to your success, you have to first believe in it and take massive action for it.  Today, I spoke with the incredible Morgan T Nelson. He is a millennial mentor, leading a team of young, hungry Legends on the path to financial freedom. He has found the right vehicle to become financially free at 23. He's also the host of The Dreaming Out Loud Podcast.    Let’s dive right into this episode and learn how to create a vision and make it happen. [00:01 – 05:24] Opening Segment I introduce our guest, Morgan T Nelson I talk about how we met. Morgan shares the story about his background  27 years old, Lived in Goldcoast, Australia Creates financial freedom since he was 23 through network marketing Starting The Dreaming Out Loud Podcast.  [05:25 – 21:30] Living the Life of Freedom  Morgan talks about how people could easily just see the glory, not the story of someone’s success People could rarely reach success without going through their journey Living the life of freedom Morgan talks about finding another way to find freedom Starting from a pop-up business when he was 18 If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, then you will work till the day you die Morgan shares the breaking and lowest point of his life when he was 19 years old. Had a wake-up moment  Morgan shares about the four pillars on the science of creating your dream life You need to have the right environment Find the right vehicle  It needs to be at the right time, which is now It has to be the right you Find your ‘Why’ from knowing what hurts you The right ‘You’ means you need to have the right beliefs, values, and attitude. When life happens, you have to adjust  [21:31 – 39:20] Gain A Mindset For Success Morgan talks about the significance of visualizing and setting the outcome to reach your success  The reason why people don’t chase their dreams is that they don’t believe in it  Morgan talks about the law of attraction Everything is energy, and all you have got to do is getting into the same vibration  If you do not think about what you want in the future, the future is only going to give you whatever is convenient, and it is probably not what you want When you really know what you want, the way it is going to follow. The opportunities will come to you, as your brain constantly look for it Look for different ways to make some passive incomes.  Morgan shares some of his motivation when he feels doubtful about his goals Plays a song or anything that is going to anchor his vision  Not merely hope but faith in your vision You need to be okay with being off track Believes comes from repetition and doing the things you said you are going to do Start to do the small things that you said you are going to do Decide on it Killing all other options other than your goals When you make the decision, the universe will conspire on you Do not blame, complain and justify  Try it for sometimes, it will really change your life  Take a massive action Take a big action, maintain, and repeat. that’s how you will success  Morgan talks about the fear of failure If you do nothing because you scared it is not going to work, it is certainly not going to work [39:21 – 44:36] Closing Segment Connect with Morgan online.  See the links below. Knowing what you know now, what is one piece of advice you would give yourself when you were starting? “Go and find someone that has exactly what you want ask how they did it, and do exactly what they said” “Get around the right people and do not care about what other people think of you sooner.” “Regardless of what you do in life, there is going to be people that talk bad about you.” [44:37 – 56:06]  Off The Clock and Review of the Week Today’s topic is going to be about WWE wrestling. Got news from The Bella Twins that they are teasing a potential return in tag teams champion  Evolution WWE also needs to have a comeback!
