Good John is back and so is the return of our special guests features, starting with current Stenhousemuir Manager Davie Irons. Davie begins by talking about how the Covid situation has affected his main job as a Police Officer as well as the club. With the new season coming up in a few weeks, the fear of no crowds being allowed in is something of a concern. On the pitch, Davie is hoping that his second spell at Stenny can see them improve on last seasons 8th place finish. We move onto Davie's playing career, which started back in 1979 at home town club Queen of the South before joining Junior side Kello Rovers. He then moved onto Ayr United, where he played under ex-Scotland Manager Ally McLeod. From there, he joined Clydebank and then Dunfermline under another great character of the game in Jim Leishman, winning promotion to the Premier League in his first season and helping the Pars consolidate in the League. Irons next move was to Partick Thistle and worked under their legendary Manager John Lambie, where they won promotion to the Premier League in 1992 and became the last winners of the Tennents Sixes. Irons scored in the Final and won player of the tournament, so he has fond memories of the competition. His playing career wound down at St Johnstone, Clydebank, Annan Athletic (as player/manager) and Gretna. Becoming Rowan Alexander's Assistant, Irons enjoyed a rollercoaster ride at Raydale under owner Brookes Mileson. They won three consecutive promotions and reached the 2006 Scottish Cup Final, losing to Hearts on penalties. Irons recalls the difficult scenario in the First Division campaign that saw him take over from Alexander as Manager and saw them over the line in dramatic circumstances at Ross County to win a place in the Premier League. He also points out the financial difficulties the club ran into the led to his departure mid-season to join Morton. After two years in Greenock, Irons then went to Stenhousemuir for 18 months, almost guiding them to the old Second Division playoffs, before a change of career led to his departure and then returning seven years later. The podcast ends with a chat on the importance of Mental Health, including how his daughter Amy has coped since losing her partner to suicide, and a round of slow fire questions. There's a particularly good story involving John Lambie's car in Blackpool. Tweet us @sffpodcast Facebook - Scottish Football Forums Instagram - sffpodcast

The two John's are joined by a special guest this week, Cove Rangers striker Paul McManus. McManus talks about Cove's historic promotion from the Highland League to the SFPL set up, and his moment of joy in scoring the final goal of the 7-0 aggregate win over Berwick Rangers, consigning them to the Lowland League. He talks about the rise of the club, how they overcame disappointment of last seasons playoff heartache against Cowdenbeath to go one better, the standard of football in the Highland League, his partnership with Mitch Meginsson up front and his battles with injury this campaign. Naturally, he talks about the celebrations over the weekend and not needing to buy a drink in Aberdeen! A tactical substitution sees Paul depart and replaced by Krys to round off the rest of the weekends action. Clyde sealed promotion to League One following their playoff win over Annan Athletic. It wasn't to be three out of three promotions from the playoffs as Queen of the South comfortably saw off Raith Rovers to preserve their Championship status. The Premiership playoff will be contested between St Mirren and Dundee United, after Hamilton secured a sixth term in the top flight with victory over St Johnstone. Both Saints and United go into the two legged playoff in decent form, so it's a tough one to call. At the top end, Kilmarnock secured third place and guaranteed Europa League football with a late winner over Rangers. It proved to be the perfect goodbye for Steve Clarke, who left to become Alex McLeish's successor as Scotland manager, the lads agree it's the right appointment. Despite victory over Hibs, Aberdeen finished fourth and will now be hoping that Celtic defeat Hearts in the upcoming Scottish Cup Final in order to secure European Football for the sixth season running. Chat moves onto this weekends Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Hearts. Will it be a triple treble for Celtic or can Hearts cause an upset? Talk then turns to Junior football as Auckinleck Talbot clinched their League title last week. Tweet us @sffpodcastFacebook - Scottish Football ForumsInstagram - sffpodcast

Andrew Slaven, JJ Bull and Laura Brannan are back after another angry weekend in Scottish football. When is it not? Neil Lennon’s time as Hibs manager appears to be over after he was suspended on Saturday. What next for the board at Easter Road? Hearts get back to winning ways but Craig Levein is engaged in a war of words with his former player turned pundit Michael Stewart. Plus hear why new signing David Vaněček needs to invest in a suit. Rangers avenge their defeat at Livingston earlier in the season, thanks once again to the efforts of Alfredo Morelos. But can he play with a strike partner? And how much money would it take for Stevie G to sanction a sale? Elsewhere, Motherwell turn on the style, there’s praise for Power at Killie and we wonder how many trophies is enough before Brendan decides to depart Celtic Park? In the SPFL, Berwick get thrashed but win on Twitter. And we hear from Annan Athletic player-manager Peter Murphy after they beat the top two in League Two within a week. • PART 1: Neil Lennon suspended by Hibernian with Edd Norval from These Football Times + St Mirren 1-3 Hibs (1m 30s) • PART 2: Hearts 2-0 St Johnstone + Levein v Stewart (11m 00s) • PART 3: Livingston 0-3 Rangers with Jonny McFarlane from the Record Rangers podcast (18m 30s) • PART 4: Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock (26m 40s) • PART 5: SPFL round-up with Neil White (33m 10s) • PART 6: An interview with Annan Athletic player-manager Peter Murphy (36m 45s) • PART 7: Dundee 0-1 Motherwell + Celtic 3-0 Hamilton (42m 45s)

It's back to league action after the excitement of the Scottish Cup last week, and it's back to the duo of Krys and John to go over a weather reduced fixture card. Peterhead's win helped us to another charity bet win, while Annan Athletic were brought back down to Earth with a bump. In the Championship, all eyes were on the big game at the Falkirk Stadium, while Rangers continued their return to form at home to Livingston. In the top flight, Dundee United's plight wasn't helped by the visit of Celtic and the oddly skewed scoring statistics "record" of Leigh Griffiths. It was made even worse by Kilmarnock's win in the snow the following day. Hearts thumped Motherwell for six, while Dundee also rattled a few past Partick Thistle. But the real excitement came in Dingwall in a highly entertaining live match as ten man Aberdeen came from a goal down to beat Ross County. Thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes in our charity bet. The best part of this podcast was surpassing last season's charity total with several months still to go! It's one of the highlights of the Scottish Football calendar, so it's no surprise that this podcast is a long one as Krys is joined by Andy and Craig to discuss all the action from the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. The big guns are in, and in some cases they're straight back out again! Annan Athletic are one of the big headline makers, while Dunfermline Athletic and Ross County managed to entertain on Sportscene far longer than some all Premiership ties. Andy and Craig manage to get a decent conversation out of the only goalless tie, but then it helps when both were at that very game. We eventually get to the three live televised games and are delighted to see someone finally get a penalty when they were taken out after shooting. Sadly the refereeing praise very quickly ends as we move on to wonder just who Andrew Dallas knows in refereeing circles to get fast tracked. Spoilers - we know. Finally we take a look a the fifth round draw and while one tie obviously stands out we look and wonder just where Celtic might be travelling. All of this, plus Premiership predictions and our attempt to get a second charity bet win of the year - and a third week in a row - after Elgin City and East Fife helped us past the £400 mark for the season. Thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes in our charity bet.
