Le capitaine et légende absolue Steven Gerrard glisse et permet aux blues de prendre l'avantage et d'ensuite remporter le match. July 20, 2024, marks 10 years since Cork venue the Pavilion, run by Pat Conway, Stevie G and Joe Kelly, closed its doors. It left an indelible mark on me and so many music lovers. Friendships were formed there, ideas were hatched, bands were watched, and DJs filled the floors. On this episode of the TPOE podcast, a whole host of the people who loved the Pav recall the six years when the recession took hold of Ireland and the Pavilion opened its doors. The first gig was Evan Dando and the Lemonheads in April 2008. The following year, Kanye West and the xx both graced its stage and the Pav was up and running. Theo Parrish, King Britt, the Pharcyde, Roy Ayers, Floating Points, Franz Ferdinand Eddie Reader, Lee Fields, Candi Staton, NASA, Theesatisfaction, Shabazz Palaces, Sly and Robbie, Lonnie Liston Smith, and Rakim are just some of the big international acts who played the Pav in that time. It also hosted and supported so many Irish acts, from Altered Hours to Hozier, Saint Yorda to Gilla Band. There were club nights like Go Deep, Sunday Times and Floating Joints which called the Pav home over the years. We hear about all of these and more over the course of this episode charting one of the best venues the country has ever seen. Summary: Like a bicycle kick goal at minute 95, Sara finally completes editing on a much overdue interview with fellow Carraville author HeyJulien ! Sara and Julien talk about the world of football RPF (as in soccer, for all you Yankees); specifically the delightfully odd-couple rivals-to-lovers ship of English football pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. Other talking points scattered across the pitch include: football as war, derby days and football rivalry; the joys of local non-league football, the Bundesliga and fußballkultur; to switch POV, or not to switch POV; the annoying beauty of David Beckham; and of course, we discuss the tragically under-utilized in fic friendship of Paul Scholes and Gary Neville (or, Scholesy as the Kermit to Gary Neville's Miss Piggy). Join us, if you like! Correction - at 03:27:40 we incorrectly refer to our wonderful fellow Carraville author as ‘player1604'-- their handle is player1064, which is a reference to Gary Neville's England legacy number. Gary was the 1,064th player to play for England's National Team. As a foundational member of Major Figgas his contribution was immediate, abrupt and changed the lens through which Philly MCs were viewed. In Episode 26 we are joined by "one of" Dorrigo's favourite fencers, part time vocalist and full time good bloke, Trenno "Jason" Statham. We give Trenno an opportunity to redeem his man card... but does he succeed? As well as this, Stevie G gives us an update on the brewery and we talk all of the usual rubbish including your feedback and a controversial question that is all about neighbourly lawn mowing etiquette.
Hello and Welcome to Episode #172 of Friday Night Counter Attack! This Week, Hamz invites Matthew Smith (BotN Podcast) to this weeks podcast to discuss and debate the 'TOP 10 PREMIER LEAGUE TEAMS NOT TO WIN THE LEAGUE TITLE!' By this we mean, the teams in individual seasons, not the clubs themselves, we know Liverpool have won the league once but we know Stevie G has not won a League Trophy
t's October 28th - welcome dear listener to the latest edition of First State Kopites. I'm Paul and I am joined by Daz. We'll do a review of the Everton and Toulouse games and briefly look ahead, given Liverpool play Forest in less than 24 hours. Part One - The Merseyside Derby - 243rd version, Liverpool have 99 wins now. We need a red card and a penalty to beat this lot - not great for a team with title ambitions OR solid win given the international break The key decisions - which hardly feel like the 12 against 10 argument that we've heard. Interesting approach to Everton set pieces - 4 breaks in the first 20, could have picked better passes Everton had an xG of 0.29, if we'd played the final third of the match with 10 (again) do we really think they would have offered much? We had over 2 and that doesn't take account of most of the breakaways. Also bizarre that the Guardian's report decided to single out this game to talk about poor officiating. Young - first player to get 2 yellows against us since 2015 (Sadio Mane) - are the Tomkins/Beesley messages about refereeing bias seeping out there? Penalties at Anfield, fouls on Salah, and now 2 yellows. Sean called out the liability that Young seems to have become and we talked about if he gets a yellow in the first 20 for the cynical foul he usually commits, it will limit his ability to foul. That bit wasn't quite right, as the late challenge on Diaz wasn't great. Tsimikas should have had a yellow - to be fair, if Pawson had a better view of his 3rd foul it probably would have been a yellow. He just commits too many fouls. Konate should have had 2 argued Toffee TV. I didn't think the 2nd was a foul real time but on the replay it's clear that Ibou clips Beto. The first yellow did seem a bit soft though (and one wonders whether the Jota 2 yellows and the admission that the first should not have been given, played into this decision). The penalty is thrown in there as if it wasn't absolutely blatant - but there were 2 non-calls that Marcus Rashford may have been given (one of which the TV didn't even replay). Some bright performances - Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Szobozlai. Salah did not seem very sharp (but still has the most goal involvement in the Premier League), but Jota and Luis Diaz were bright at times. Darwin looked sharp when he came on. Briefly on Toulouse: Weaker line up than against USG. Some great performances - Gravenberch, Jota, Endo Definitely using these as training games - will be even more so for the next 3 you feel. Part Two - another big week: Forest 10am on Sunday (thanks to the UK clock changes) - what do we expect? Forest have dropped points against Luton and Burnley. Won at Chelsea, lost at Man City - 3 straight draws. Awoniyi has been out and they've had to rely on Chris Wood. They were potentially unlucky not to beat Luton (highest XG, most shots of their season). Reds will have Gakpo back but not Curtis, Tsimikas will continue at left back we assume. Strata beginning to develop - where are Forest? Predicted line up and scores Bournemouth in the EFL Cup - Europa League game In other news: Only Mo Salah corner - 7 goals, 4 assists - 144 PL goals for Liverpool in 227 appearances - 195 altogether for Liverpool - well past King Kenny and Stevie G on the all time list. Billy Liddell with 228 in 4th spot is next. Mane is 14th and Firmino 16th in that list. We will be back after the Forest game. Thanks to Daz for joining me. On this weeks episode of Keep The Kayfabe we have a Take-Over episode tag teamed by co-host Stevie G and very special guest, Gary. The boys take a deep dive into legendary referees and announcers spanning past decades all the way up to current day. These are the unsung heroes of the business and the fellas give them the shine they so rightfully deserve as they are pivotal pieces to any and all wrestling federations. The wrestlers are the men in women that go down in history and who are remembered, but with out the presentation, pump up, and drama that these key figures lend, they may only become as good as faded memories.

Through his own path to recovery, Stevie G stayed at a halfway house. While there, he found connections and moved forward in his own recovery, but he saw some things that were disturbing, as if the halfway house had lost the focus on helping recovering alcoholics. After leaving, Stevie was presented with the opportunity - a friend owned some 3 flats - and Stevie said “I think we can do better for people”. That was 30 years ago and he continues to work in the sober community with RCOSA sober living.RCOSA is a privately funded non-profit organization providing sober living where individuals work on building a foundation for sobriety through love and support, and incredible counselors with lots of experience to help individuals cognitively and emotionally. Everyone gets their own room with different buildings for different demographics like age,and there are two groups a week with group and individual counseling. RCOSA has created a space where people feel like they are vested in their recovery, and have fun along the way. The facilities are top notch, costs are reasonable, and the location is very accessible. Individuals walk into an instant community.Benefits and focuses of sober living: Community Accountability and structure Direction and Guidance Incredible Counselors: individual and group Thousands of people have gone through RCOSA. The average length of stay is a little under a year. Why? Because the idea of 28 day treatment is unrealistic - individuals are not cured after 28 days. It takes 6 - 12 months to change those neural pathways and stay at RCOSA is a minimum of 3 months. That's where the value of RCOSA is, and that is why esteemed alumni are seeing such a benefit. We discuss Stevie G being sacked & his replacement. Also, Jesse Marsch is the next one on the hot seat. We dabble in two topics that bring politics into sports with Iran, Ukraine, and Qatar. Pop culture with Kanye West & Adidas. We transition back to sports and delve into the EPL, and Champions League. The USMNT are hosting a camp for MLS players to stay in shape. Logan and Estevan argue whether or not the USA has any chance of getting out of the Group of Death. Lastly, we discuss which team we will buy when Logan gets a billion dollars.

Then we turn our attention to Leeds at Elland Road this weekend, with another misfiring manager on the brink in the Cottagers' crosshairs - can we pile the misery on Jesse Marsch after Leeds fell to defeat at Leicester in midweek?
