US equities were mixed in Tuesday trading, off best levels. There were not a lot of big directional drivers with the market largely in waiting mode for FOMC on Wednesday and some key AI events, including AVGO and ORCL earnings and a new OpenAI model. Analyst day and sell-side conference presentations were driving some of the more notable movers

There's a lot on the docket for this week, but Kevin Green says he "won't be surprised" to see SPX compression before the Fed's interest rate decision on Wednesday. However, it could set the stage for a Santa Claus rally to close 2025. On the A.I. trade, KG notes Marvell's (MRVL) steep selling action as Microsoft (MSFT) eyes Broadcom (AVGO) for custom chip orders. Broadcom briefly traded at an all-time high Monday morning ahead of Thursday's earnings.
