Today at DMJXpat, we are discussing recruitment in Europe. Vadim introduces what the state of the art is across European member states, Sophie highlights the perspective in Germany, and Clara interviewed a friend who did the military service here in Denmark.

Today, we are dropping another episode in our "chats" series, specifically on the Founder side, - hearing from those scaling the companies themselves. In this episode, we are talking with Vadim Dedov, CEO at Catchers. Vadim is going to walk us through what problem he wanted to solve with Catchers, and how his product development journey took him through architectural decisions, product optimization, team building and more.QuestionsBefore we talk about Catchers, I'd love to understand you a bit better. What experiences or responsibilities earlier in your life shaped how you think about work, systems, and accountability today? What problem were you dealing with before Catchers existed? Not as a product idea yet, but as a real operational pain you kept running into.At what point did you realise this couldn't be solved with people, spreadsheets, or manual coordination anymore and that technology was the only way forward? How did Catchers actually start taking shape as a product? What was the very first version you built, and what did “good enough” mean in a business where mistakes affect people's income and compliance? How long did it take to get to something usable, and what constraints defined your MVP?Looking back, what were the most important trade-offs you made early on?Things you consciously postponed or simplified, knowing they might come back later.Let's zoom in on the product itself. What is the core product insight behind Catchers — the thing you believe differentiates it from a typical HR or staffing platform? How did your thinking about architecture evolve as scale increased? Was there a moment when you had to stop moving fast and redesign parts of the system properly? How did you approach building your core team around such a complex, operations-heavy product? What qualities mattered most in the people you trusted with this system? Can you share a decision that didn't go as planned and how you and your team dealt with the consequences? When you step back and look at what you've built today, what are you most proud of not in terms of features, but in terms of reliability, impact, or how the system holds under pressure? As you look ahead, how do automation and AI change the way you think about workforce platforms — and what advice would you give to someone building infrastructure-heavy products today?SponsorsUnblockedBraingrid.ai.TECH DomainsMezmoLinkshttps://catchersjob.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/vadim-dedov-060b8935a/Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Introducing season no. 2 of DMJXpat with Vadim and the new co-hosts, Clara & Sophie. Instead of three news bits and a guest, every episode will center around a specific topic. Today: The Danish national elections. Clara provided an overview of what to expect, Vadim asked what our Danish classmates think of them, and Sophie fact-checked if they are actually as snap as they seem to be. Tune in, there is no third-wheeling here!
In this episode, Vadim revisits a question first explored three years ago: are younger American households actually struggling—or are the headlines missing the real story? Drawing from dv01's latest research publication, Are the Kids Still All Right?, the discussion cuts through recession narratives to examine income growth, debt dynamics, education outcomes, housing constraints, and spending behavior across younger cohorts. What emerges is a picture of resilience built on structural shifts in education, income, and financial discipline—paired with one increasingly binding constraint: housing supply.Key topics discussed:Why income growth among Gen Z and Millennials is at multi-decade highs relative to the national averageHow student debt dynamics have fundamentally shifted—and why today's student debt problem is largely a legacy issueThe quiet but consequential transformation in higher education, away from for-profit and low-completion institutionsWhy younger households have reshaped spending patterns faster than any other age cohortHow housing supply shortages have overtaken student debt as the primary barrier to household formation and wealth buildingThe episode concludes with a clear call to action: without a meaningful expansion in housing supply across price points, individual financial discipline alone won't be enough to unlock the next stage of economic mobility.Subscribe to our free research to stay up-to-date on the latest trends. In this episode of IndieGameBusiness, we're joined by Vadim Andreev, CEO and Co-Founder of Rokky, a PC game distribution platform focused on expanding how and where games reach players. Vadim breaks down the current state of PC gaming distribution and what it means for indie developers today. We'll discuss whether Steam is truly a monopoly, the risks of relying on a single platform, and what alternative marketplaces and e-stores developers should be considering. Vadim also explains how non-traditional markets like MENA, LATAM, and China fit into the global PC distribution landscape, plus what the grey market is and whether it poses a real threat to developers. Finally, we explore the advantages of diversifying your distribution mix and how doing so can help protect your game, reach new audiences, and increase long-term revenue. The PC games “gray market” isn't just a couple of shady websites. It's an economic behavior that exploits regional pricing and promotion timing to siphon revenue away from publishers. In this episode, Our host, Alexandra Takei, Director at Ruckus Games, sits down with Vadim Andreev, CEO of Rokky (and former founder of PlayKey), to unpack how retail-era code resale evolved into today's global key-arbitrage machine.Vadim breaks down two core leak points: regional price arbitrage (buying keys in cheaper markets and reselling in premium ones) and promo stockpiling (buying deep-discount keys during sales, then reselling after discounts end). He argues the damage is material: publishers can lose roughly 20 to 40% of margin to resellers, often without realizing how much of their “regional” volume is being cannibalized elsewhere. The conversation gets practical fast: why region locking is table stakes, how publishers frequently mis-bucket territories (China and New Zealand), and why Steam's price recommendations can lag real exchange rates and taxes. Rokky's pitch is a mix of distribution and defense: API-level checks (IP, identity, purchase limits), a key management dashboard, and pricing/promo optimization to close the gaps attackers exploit. The conversation ends with a discussion about Valve and their role in games distribution and the gray market and what they could do to help mitigate the problem. We'd also like to thank Lightspeed Venture Partners for making this episode possible! What happens when two 30-something millennials decide to shake up a traditional industry dominated by older, established companies? Tim and Vadim from IRBIS HVAC prove that age is just a number when you combine technical expertise with smart marketing and genuine care for your team. These Ironman finishers started as hands-on technicians and built their Silicon Valley HVAC company from scratch, reaching toward $19 million in revenue this year. Their approach to company culture, employee retention, and customer service offers valuable lessons for any blue-collar business looking to attract top talent in today's competitive market.Their secret sauce combines direct weekly communication with all departments, involvement in daily operations, and creating an environment where employees genuinely enjoy coming to work. From clean, organized vans to offshore support staff handling paperwork, they've removed friction points that make technicians' lives easier. In a market where gas furnaces are being phased out by 2029 and most customers are engineers who love technology, IRBIS HVAC has found their niche. They focus on heat pump installations and custom solutions rather than simple equipment swaps, commanding premium prices while building lasting customer relationships. Are you struggling to attract and retain quality technicians in your blue-collar business? Take these steps from Tim and Vadim's playbook:Evaluate your compensation structure and add performance bonuses for all positions. Create memorable experiences for top performers - they don't have to be expensive to be meaningful. Focus on referral programs since your best employees know other quality workers. What if fear is the one running the show — not your ex, not your old job, not even the system? In this powerful conversation with trauma-informed therapist and neuroscience expert Dr. Vadim, we peel back the mask on fear and expose how it hides in plain sight. Whether it's overachievement, avoidance, or straight-up anger, fear knows how to disguise itself — and most of us don't even see it coming. From scary movies to silent breakdowns, this episode flips the script on what men are really afraid of. We unpack how fear can be a self-fulfilling prophecy, just like in the book of Job: “What I feared has come upon me.” So what's manifesting in your life — and is fear behind it? If you've ever said, “I'm not scared, I just don't care anymore,” this episode is for you. Dr. Vadim breaks down how that numbness is often trauma's favorite coping strategy. We ask hard questions: Are you ghosting your healing? Has fear been driving your hustle? What legacy are you building — and is it based on faith or fear? This one's raw, real, and might just change the way you move. No cap — fear might be the reason you're stuck. So we're spilling the tea on all of it. Listen. Reflect. Face your villainTrustBuilder Package
