Ken defends dropping Joe Burrow from his elite quarterback tier after years of inclusion, arguing that injuries and a 9-8 season with the Bengals show he can no longer single-handedly carry the team, even while acknowledging Burrow's talent and blaming some of Cincinnati's struggles on Zac Taylor's coaching. He and Anthony then dig into the Browns' quarterback competition, placing Shedeur Sanders in the unproven bottom tier while praising his toughness in a rough rookie situation and keeping Deshaun Watson in the journeyman category. Both hosts admit they expect Watson to open the season as starter based on insider reporting and new head coach Todd Monken's likely preference for a veteran, even though they'd rather see Sanders get the job.
As the SUMMER OF FUN continues, the wave of interns flooding the city reminds us that we really DO live in a place WORTH romanticizing!! Heat wave and all, this really is a "Suddenly I See" kind of place to call home. While we're still two years away from “I do”, the once "loose concept" of a wedding slowly becomes the consistent (not redundant) theme of Brooke's dreams. We're happy to report that Pinterest FINALLY corrects itself and understands this wedding vision!! However, the list of HARD NO's begins, and the guest list?! Well…that's still very much up in the air. Annnnd while we plan for the future, we're also looking back at the past. A reflection, if you will. Brian welcomes Mary Ann and Levi back to the show, and Mary Ann's husband, Robert, joins us for his first ever appearance on any podcast. In this episode, Brian sits down with BFRO expedition leader Mary Ann, her husband Robert, and investigator Levi to talk about a spring expedition on private property in northern Missouri.Mary Ann shares more about her work leading BFRO expeditions across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and soon Illinois, while the group walks through a weekend that began with knocks, shadow reports, and possible footsteps before escalating into something far more intense. One participant using thermal equipment believed she saw tall heat signatures near a pond and ravine area, later estimated to be between six and a half and seven feet tall.As the weekend continued, strange activity seemed to build around camp. Then, during a severe storm on Saturday night, Mary Ann and Robert experienced repeated impacts against their tent, including something pushing against the phone pocket and swiping across the front of the tent. At the same time, Levi was watching from his rooftop tent and saw a large outline near the barn blocking reflected light. Moments later, he spotted eye shine before the figure ran into a nearby field.Although the group did not find clear tracks afterward, they did notice soil compaction in the area.Brian, Mary Ann, Robert, and Levi also discuss the possibility of bad weather being used as cover, recurring equipment problems, additional high-strangeness observations from the property, and what these kinds of field experiences can teach investigators.Check Out The Ozark Mountain Bigfoot ConferenceJoin A BFRO Expedition Email BrianJoin Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.Have you had a Bigfoot encounter, Sasquatch sighting, Dogman experience, or other cryptid or paranormal encounter? Chris Ronzio, Jonathan Ronzio, and Sasha Robinson trade hot takes on the workforce headlines everyone's arguing about. Are companies really cutting jobs because of AI, or just using it as cover for bad decisions and overhiring? Is the war on middle management (à la GitLab's three-layer flattening) a smart move or a morale killer? And with engagement at an 11-year low and "quiet stayers" replacing quiet quitters, how much turnover is actually healthy? Then things get personal: Chris and Jonathan go head-to-head on remote vs. hybrid work—data, digital-nomad nostalgia, and all—while Sasha referees and lays out where Trainual actually lands today. Plus, why your manager shouldn't be your "guidance counselor," the case for an employee "aspiration index," and how AI is letting great managers handle 15 reports instead of 5.(The performance management deep-dive? Bumped to next week—this one ran away from us.)
This weekend, there was supposed to be a special game played between the Sydney Swans and St Kilda. It was the teams' annual Pride match, in which the players would wear rainbow jerseys and celebrate diversity, the aim being to boost inclusivity for LGBTQ fans. But for the first time in a decade, because of a far-reaching scandal involving Saints player Lance Collard, the Pride match was scrapped. Sydney opted to play the game against a different side, at a different time. Today special correspondent Stephen Brook discusses the role that homophobic slurs play in footy and why the code’s attempts at cracking down on hate may be backfiring. And just a heads-up, this episode contains offensive language. Background reading The question that exposed a massive flaw in the AFL’s fight against homophobia. Send us a textA small structural “bump” on a molecule might be the big breakthrough EPM care has been waiting for. We sit down with researcher and clinician Izabela de Assis Rocha to unpack how bumped kinase inhibitors exploit a tiny difference between parasite and mammalian kinases to hit Sarcocystis neurona where it hurts—motility, invasion, and replication—while sparing the horse. It's a molecular strategy with practical promise, and the conversation bridges the stall, the lab, and the future of equine neurology. We break down the science behind CDPK1, the gatekeeper residue that drives selectivity, and why unique parasite structures like the apical complex and apicoplast open new therapeutic lanes. Then we move into what really matters for care: pharmacokinetics and clinical fit. BKI-1708 shows strong systemic distribution that positions it as a prophylactic candidate, while early data on BKI-1553 suggests better CNS penetration and a path toward active EPM treatment. Isabella explains how EPM's dead-end host biology may lower the risk of widespread resistance, a rare bright spot in the antiparasitic landscape.Clinical trials are the hard part. With no robust experimental infection model and fewer than 1% of exposed horses developing disease, enrolling enough cases takes patience and teamwork. We talk about building pragmatic, clinician-led studies, harmonizing diagnostics and neurologic scoring, and tracking relapse to find outcomes that matter to horses and owners. The One Health angle also shines through: BKIs show activity against equine piroplasmosis and have potential roles in toxoplasmosis and cryptosporidiosis, linking equine research to human and livestock health. If you care about evidence-based equine neurology, new antiparasitic strategies, and turning elegant biochemistry into barn-side change, this is your roadmap. Subscribe, share with a colleague who manages EPM cases, and leave a review to help more veterinarians find the show. What question would you ask about bringing BKIs into practice?AJVR article: https://doi.org/10.2460/ajvr.25.07.0270INTERESTED IN SUBMITTING YOUR MANUSCRIPT TO JAVMA ® OR AJVR ® ? Welcome to Season 16 of Mysterious Goings On.Sometimes it takes a hard knock to the head to change how you see time. After a simple workplace accident led to an ER visit, Alex Greenwood found himself staring at a very different kind of threshold—one marked by uncertainty, health scares, and the quiet reckoning that comes when life reminds you it's not a dress rehearsal. In this deeply personal premiere episode, Alex reflects on what a concussion and a few unexpected words (“we found something else”) taught him about mortality, ambition, and the fine art of choosing what truly matters. He also shares why he's trading his PR mic for a history degree, lacing up for another half marathon, and learning to live not with certainty, but with purpose.Season 16 kicks off with a story about limits, endurance, and how to live while you still can.Find more at MGOPod.com.Thank you for listening. This summer on the Max Lucado Encouraging Word podcast we've been talking about what we can do to give every day a chance. That can feel especially challenging on a day when things don't go according to plan, when you're bumped off track. Just ask the apostle Paul. You think he planned to go to prison? You think Paul said to himself, “Some time in jail would do wonders for my ministry”? Of course not! But he trusted the work of Christ. May we do the same.
