We're joined by Dr. Dale Johnson, Associate Professor of Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Executive Director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Dr. Johnson is passionate about teaching and informing people about biblical counseling, especially pastors. Dr. Johnson is burdened for pastors to see the church function in a way that cares for souls. In these roles, he is able to do just that by both “catching” and training pastors before they go out in ministry or after they've been in ministry and realize that they need more training.
In this episode, we discuss Lou Priolo's new book, Loneliness: Connecting with God and Others. In a fractured and disconnected world, loneliness is a struggle for many. Writing with encouragement and understanding, biblical counselor Lou Priolo shows you how to deepen your communion with God and take concrete, workable steps to enjoy deeper relationships with the people around you. Loneliness may be painful—but it doesn't have to be permanent. The Resources for Biblical Living booklet series addresses a wide range of practical life issues in a straightforward, down-to-earth, and, most of all, biblical manner. Lou Priolo is the founder and president of Competent to Counsel International and is an instructor at Birmingham Theological Seminary. He has been a full-time biblical counselor since 1985 and is a fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Lou has been married to his wife, Kim, since 1987 and has two daughters, Sophia and Gabriella.
