Post Date: July 12, 2019. J-Bunny sits down with Sons of Texas vocalist Mark Morales. They discuss how Sons of Texas got together, how they came up with the name of their most recent album Forged By Fortitude, and also talk about a confrontation that Trapt vocalist Chris Taylor Brown had with a local band when Sons of Texas was touring with Trapt in 2015. They also talk about Mark's work on Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's solo project, whether or not they may make that touring band a full band, and whether or not Sons of Texas guitarist Jes DeHoyos is still involved with Ill Nino after the fallout from Ill Nino announcing him as part of their new lineup back in January. Podcast intro "Rock Intro 3" courtesy of audionautix.com. "Down in the Trenches" and "Feed the Need" both appear on Sons of Texas's album Forged by Fortitude. In the final epispode of season 2 we talk about Grift Hop, a style of rap that your racist uncle listens to! Also Trapt singer Chris Taylor Brown is involved because OF COURSE HE IS.
2020 saw the release of nu-metal C-listers Trapt's 8th studio record Shadow Work, amidst an intense atmosphere of intense internet mockery and scorn. As far back as 2017, the band's frontman Chris Taylor Brown had developed a vitriolic presence on Trapt's various social media outlets, attracting controversy by claiming institutional racism doesn't exist, joking about sexual assault, and outright bullying users unprovoked, among many other things. This persona was jacked up to ridiculous extremes during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and almost certainly influenced Shadow Work's lack of sales, which only amounted to around 600 copies in its first week of release. But is it at all possible that there's something more to Shadow Work, hiding just below the surface? Could there be some hidden treasure amidst all the controversy and furor? No.This album is absolutely putrid, and we refuse to pretend otherwise.Join Lilz & Patrick on a new Jukebox Zeroes, along with return guest Aimee Hauthaway, as they take every opportunity to tear Chris Taylor Brown's "legacy" to shreds, while pretending to impartially listen to the post-grunge garbage fire that is Shadow Work.Local Music Feature: Surfliner - "Pocono Bay"

The question of the day is… Is it worth the risk to stand up for your beliefs, even if it jeopardizes your business? To a younger generation, perhaps you heard of Trapt or Chris Taylor Brown from memes and online controversies around social media political feuds. I learned about Trapt in a very different way... as a 14 year old kid... when I sneakily listened to the rock radio stations that my parents forbid. Now, 18 years later (almost to the date), what a weird world we live in. Today's episode is my conversation with a childhood inspiration of mine, Chris Taylor Brown of the band Trapt. It was a great fun civil chat about Chris' history, how he became a diehard Donald Trump supporter, things that he regrets from his online feuds and so much more. Will Chris sway me to the Trump side? Find out now on today's episode of The System is Down episode 182: Is the Fight for Trump Worth It? w. Chris Taylor Brown of TRAPT.
