Send us a textA great comeback story always resonates, especially when it involves a band that's caught the attention of prominent music outlets like Revolver Magazine, who dubbed them a “Band You Need to Know.” Meet Gore, a breakthrough four-piece metalcore outfit from Houston, Texas, and their dynamic frontwoman, Haley Roughton. In this episode, Haley opens up about the journey that led to the formation of Gore and the unique chemistry she found with bandmates Alex Reyes and Devin Birchfield —a connection she describes as unparalleled. This synergy laid the foundation for their debut EP, A Bud That Never Blooms, a ferocious and emotionally raw offering that has left listeners craving more. The five-track release is a testament to their dedication, crafted with the support of a production team that ensured every note and lyric carried heartfelt intensity. But it also starts with Haley's unique musical influences, which more than paved the way in the writing process for this record. While many bands take years and multiple albums to define their sound, Gore has achieved this feat in just five songs. Haley reflects on this ascent and hints at what's next for the group as they prepare to tackle 2025 with new music, appearances at major festivals, and even greater ambitions. This conversation with Haley is as much about personal resilience as it is about Gore's rise—a story you'll want to hear taking place both on and off the stage. This week, we're scratching The Itch for DOOMSDAY! The (mostly) Texas-based GORE. is one of the most exciting new bands in the metal world, and we were thrilled to speak with guitarist Alex King and bassist Devin Birchfield about their debut EP, A Bud That Never Blooms, out October 25th on Spinefarm Records. The fellas recount how they connected to frontwoman (and NASA engineer) Haley Roughton, their excitement about what's already next on the horizon, and the "emotional gore" that leads them to suspect that if their music isn't making you cry, they're not doing their job. Plus, of course, some major music nerdery in the Burning Questions section. These guys are going to the moon, so join us for lift off before their EP launches them to stardom. Brooklyn's finest have never looked better. We are of course, talking about rising metalcore group VRSTY (pronounced Varsity). We are joined by the uniquely talented frontman Joey Tyler. Joey is a Puerto Rican singer raised on R&B, pop, and Spanish music, which makes it that much more impressive due to him taking the route to heavy metal. Equally inspired by metallic hardcore as a kid, Joey talks about his influences, musical and personal, that have shaped his repertoire into what it is today. Spoiler alert: It's amazing. Joey also dives into VRSTY's history from the last 10 years, and now, while outlets like SiriusXM, Blabbermouth, Outburn, andKerrang are praising their work, it's a humbling yet rewarding feeling for Joey and company. And quite honestly, it's something to take note of. “I feel like I was even more just myself on this record,” says Joey about the new album “Levitate.” Many twists and turns are heard on this record, from post-metal, nu-metal, and to melodic metalcore. VRSTY have fused elements effortlessly, which will have other music acts turn their heads in their direction. Ending the year on a high note, it's time for VRSTY to grab hold of the momentum in 2024. Bloodsuckers forever. Saint Agnes forever. Across the pond we go, and enter the new age of punk music, a passion unmatched from the quartet called Saint Agnes. We are joined by frontwoman Kitty Austen and guitarist Jon Tufnell in today's edition of IUF. Almost a decade into the frey of existence, Kitty and Jon talk about the early days of the band, clocking in over 200 divebar and squat shows across the UK & Europe, before getting picked up by Spinefarm Records. As the recognition grew, so did their touring resume, performing on revered festivals such as Download, Isle Of Wright, and 2000 Trees to name a few. There's a sense of humbleness within their character, but Kitty and Jon are forever grateful to be in this position, and quite possibly, also now in their most important chapter in their lives, personally and musically. The new album, “Bloodsuckers” showcases the best of their talents and abilities, which has them picking up steam with other music outlets at the same time. Punk has never sounded more rebellious, and Saint Agnes is sure to have you on your feet in any setting, getting you ready to run into a wall. I Did It Again", una versión de la cantante pop Britney Spears.

How Stone Broken Built A Modern Rock Following

Ahead of their third studio album, Stone Broken chats with Haulix about the secret to successful rock promotion in 2022. Let's face it: The rock marketplace is in a weird place. Never in the history of the genre have there been so many artists with countless unique takes on rock competing for the finite attention of listeners. It is both the best and worst of times because you can never listen to everything worth hearing, but that's not even the worst part. Before worrying about scaling the rock hierarchy, artists must first find a marketing angle that works. Marketing is everything. That has always been the case, but it feels more important than ever in 2022. The demand for consumer attention is endless, and your budget for fighting alongside every IP and musician on Earth is limited. You have to find a path to success that doesn't waste time or break the bank, and you have to do so while also attempting to make the best music of your career. Not that there is any pressure or anything. The amount of great rock music available now vastly outnumbers the finite amount of time listeners have to experience it. The only way forward is through finding your audience and catering to them. It's not an easy feat to accomplish, but one that is well worth the effort. In the latest Fast Five interview, Music Biz host James Shotwell chats with UK rock band Stone Broken about how a constantly shifting marketing strategy has led to long-term success. The band's third studio album, Revelation, arrives on April 15, 2022, through Spinefarm Records. Music Biz is brought to you by Haulix, the music industry's leading promotional distribution platform. Turn this one up, and make sure your neighbors hear it too while you're at it, as we welcome the powerful frontwoman Justine Jones from the U.K. based metallic hardcore outfit, Employed To Serve. We invite Justine along with us to talk about their highly-anticipated 4th studio album “Conquering”. It's been roughly a decade into the makings for Justine, and with the new album, she and her bandmates are finally feeling they have hit their stride. Justine describes the production process from the first day to the last day and how there was a sense of pressure to reach their ceiling of musicianship. Aside from an album release, we also ask Justine about her record label called “Church Road Records” which she co-owns with her partner and bandmate Sammy Urwin. Founded in 2017 while overcoming the challenges during the recent pandemic, Justine is determined to keep the wheels turning by taking part within the music business herself. Whether it's on the stage or off, the passion and dedication within her craft remains at an all time high. One could even say, she is “Conquering” her way through her love for the music she so often puts on dynamic display. The album is full of jawbreaking riffs, ferocious vocals, and hammering drums incorporated with the sounds of hardcore punk. Take our word for it, and have the ice packs ready for the ensuing headbanging. It's been ages since I last spoke to Justine Jones, chief throat shredder in Woking's Employed To Serve – which is a bit of an understatement really, ETS might just be the best home grown rock band to tread the boards of British music venues today. Justine is also the label boss at Church Road Records. I reckon it's got to be almost two years since we last conversed, and… well, a lot has happened in those two years. Having a natter is much overdue, the band have got a new record – their fourth, Conquering, is due to be released on September 17th via Spinefarm Records - and so this conversation takes place on a bizarrely hot Autumn Day. Apologies for the low level banging and clanging on this episode. I think Castle Spoook might have awoken a spirit or something – or maybe I just need to do something about the mic I'm currently using. The James McMahon Music Podcast is a Spoook Media production. Spoook is also a record label, a promoter, a shop, a Substack - it's many things. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter. For over 2 decades, hard rock giants Atreyu have been the household name for many fans in the scene. On their 8th album “Baptize," it's a reminder for those out there to know that the band has continued to excel in the music they've made an impact on. Guitarist Travis Miguel joins us on this episode as he talks about the recent lineup changes and the level of consistency he and his bandmates have continued to hold onto despite whatever hurdles may be headed their way. The name “Baptize” does feel like a new beginning for Travis, and with live shows potentially making the long-awaited comeback in the near future – everything just fell into place for this particular moment to bring the new songs to the stage. At the same time, that lineup change is something Travis is thankful for, since most of this change-up occurred internally within the band, and allowed for new connections amongst this bandmates that he never saw coming, and for the better. We also ask Travis about his side project “Fake Figures”, and how the feeling of staying humble can be tough throughout a successful music career which landed Atreyu on a handful of sold-out headlining tours, including the likes of Ozzfest and sharing the stages with Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, and Deftones. Oh, and lastly, we test Travis on the highly entertaining “Hot Seat” section to see if he knows his own songs. Plenty of great topics unpacked with a great musician. Riding high on the success of his band's debut album, Dead Poet Society's Jack Underkofler talks all things promotion on Inside Music. The music industry at large is trying incredibly hard to ignore the reality of the present day. The world is changing faster than ever, and the methods of promotion that worked as recently as early 2020 are no longer reliable. We live in a new world that demands creative thinking that, frankly, many seem too afraid or too insecure to attempt. But the fact remains that people still want new music, and many are hoping to discover the next song or artist that can change their lives. The musicians and labels willing to try anything to reach those curious listeners are in a position for massive success, and Dead Poet Society is doing everything they can to seize the moment. -!-, Dead Poet Society's Spinefarm Records debut album, hit stores in February 2021. The alt-rock release serves as the culmination of nearly a decade spent writing, recording, touring, and grinding as hard as anyone can to make the band's name known. Its existence is a testament to what happens when people fully commit to their craft, and it's quickly turning heads throughout the rock community while other acts sit on the industry sidelines. In this episode of Inside Music, Dead Poet Society's Jack Underkofler chats with James Shotwell about the journey behind -!-. He recounts how a fan in Mexico gave the band an international stage and how a move from Boston to Los Angeles put the group in a position to reach mainstream success. Jack also shares what he's learned about promoting music in a post-COVID world. Check it out:

Resiliency. It's in his DNA. The talented and humble frontman Blake Bedsaul from Iowa-based heavy metal band Saul joins the IUF roster in this episode. Before unleashing their debut record titled “Rise As Equals” on October 23rd – Blake talks about the struggles and growth for him and his bandmates , including his brother Zach who plays guitar. The bond that he, Zach, and the rest of the band have developed is an inspiration that can be chained into the band's core forever. Blake talks about the collaborations with David Draiman (Disturbed), Morgan Rose (Sevendust), and acclaimed songwriter Erik Ron (Godsmack, Like Moths To Flames) that helped pave the way to create such an incredible and powerful album. This week on All Around Music we have a featured artist, Ross Hammond, we play  "I Ain't Scared of Your Jail" from his new album 'Follow Your Heart' being released Friday February 17th. You can find his new album on Vinyl, CD, and Digital download at http://www.rosshammond.com. Quoted from his press release:   There are albums that capture a moment in time. That bind that moment in amber   and send it forward into the future like a time machine. Follow Your Heart is such a record.     It should come as no surprise, then, that the album was born in a conversation between Hammond and his six-year old daughter, Lola. “The story behind the title is Lola asked me one day if we were best buddies,” Hammond said. “I told her yes and then she asked if we’d be best friends after we died. The title song, ‘Of Course We Will (Follow Your Heart),’ is dedicated to that statement. Maybe it’s an answer, albeit a musical one.” Follow Your Heart’s mood varies, from the insistent drive of “Life In 3-D” to the ephemeral “Sinner Man.” Hammond is a master at spinning a wordless story with his guitar; each song feels set in a particular place at a particular time of day, though that place and time are of the listener’s choosing.   This week we Cover a story by Esquire comparing The Chainsmokers to Nickleback http://www.esquire.com/entertainment/music/news/a52638/who-are-chainsmokers-nickelback/   As I Lay Dying's Front Man Tim Lambesis Has Been Released from Prison. http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/as_i_lay_dying_frontman_tim_lambesis_reportedly_out_of_jail   Watch Kings of Leon's new music videos with a scifi twist http://www.nme.com/news/music/kings-of-leon-reverend-video-musical-murder-mystery-1972295   Watch the Trailer for "All Eyesz on Me" http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/tupac-meets-notorious-big-in-new-all-eyez-on-me-trailer-w466387   Tom Delonge to Release new non-fiction book about UFO's in March. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/tom-delonge-preps-non-fiction-book-about-ufo-phenomenon-w465473   Quick Headlines: Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens are supporting Good Charlotte on their European tour. On this episode of INSIDE MUSIC, host James Shotwell calls Wills Weller of New Jersey rock band Toothgrinder. Wills tells James about his group's new album, Nocturnal Masquerade, as well as how they found themselves on the Spinefarm Records roster. In all the time we've been doing this show there has probably never been a more excited guest on the show than Wills, nor have we ever encountered anyone who so clearly appreciated the opportunity they have been given to share their voice and creativity with the world at large. You might not know the name of Toothgrinder going into this episode, but there is a very good chance you will be a fan by the time our conversation comes to a close.

About "STEVE CONTE NYC" Steve Conte has been one busy musician over the past few years. After leaving New York Dolls in 2010 he joined up with former Hanoi Rocks front man Michael Monroe as guitarist, songwriter and backing vocalist to release 3 albums, the most recent of which – Horns And Halos, 2013 Spinefarm Records – he wrote the lion’s share of the songs for (it’s already been nominated for “Album Of The Year” by the Finnish Grammys and The Nordic Music Prize). In the summer of 2011, in between touring with Monroe he began work on what was to be his first official solo album, naming the project “Steve Conte NYC”.And now in 2014, after years of making records with others, NYC guitarist/singer/songwriter Steve Conte has stepped out on his own to release The Steve Conte NYC Album. His first official solo record delivers all the guitar, vocal and songwriting skills you know from his previous bands; Steve Conte & The Crazy Truth, Crown Jewels, The Contes and Company Of Wolves. And that “bunch of friends” includes some serious talent. Joining Steve are members of Foo Fighters, The Wildhearts, New York Dolls, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Hanoi Rocks, Georgia Satellites, Alice Cooper, Mink DeVille, Hellacopters, The Urban Voodoo Machine, Mott The Hoople, Backyard Babies, The Wallflowers, Company Of Wolves, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, and players from the bands of Ian Hunter, John Mellencamp, Roseanne Cash and Bruce Springsteen. The new album was mixed and mastered by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Keith Richards) and Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, Counting Crows), respectively – the same team who did the 2009 release, Steve Conte & The Crazy Truth. http://stevecontenyc.com
