This episode features Mike Contreras of 2SP Brewing Company. 2SP was conceived in 2015. Mike is the director of sales and marketing. While he was working at Dogfish Head Brewing, the owner of 2 Stones Pub, Mike Stiglitz gave him a call. He shared that he was thinking about starting a brewery. He was already filling out his team with Bob Barrar, who at the time was already a highly decorated brewer. It was an easy decision for Mike to come on board. The focus has been to build a nice regional brewery that provides local beer for the community that they can be proud of. Today, 2SP is the 10th largest brewery in PA, providing wonderful, flavourful, complex beer. 120 Concord Rd #101-103, Aston, PA 19014 - (484) 483-7860- www.2SPBrewing.com - Facebook Highlights from our discussion: Dogfish Head Brewery Iron Hill Brewery Rogue Brewery Evolution Craft Brewing Wawa Herman's Coffee Little Goat Coffee Roasting Co. In episode 171, Tony & Eddie talk through the latest Bad Boy film to be added to the iconic action franchise. Nostalgia is here. But what about everything else that you need to make a great film? Does Bad Boys for Life work? How did the franchise age? Does it stand up against other more current action comedies like the Fast series? The answers to all these questions and more are waiting for you in this newest episode of the Cinemantics. The boys also tried new brews from Founders and Dogfish Head breweries. If you were around for the 2019 year-end favorites episode you'll want to hear about Eddie's beer choice this month. This is segment 1 of 2 from what has now become a bit of a tradition for us. This is our 3rd Record Store Day Podcast, and the second year in a row we've done it from Jupiter Records in Woodbury Heights NJ. Record Store Day falls right at the end of the Hippie High Holidaze of Bicycle Day, 4/20, the anniversary of Prince's death and Earth Day. Seeing as how Dogfish Head is the official beer of Record Store Day, we had Ryan Horner from Dogfish sit in with some beautiful liquid. The theme of this one was "Opening The Vaults." We all brought beers from the deep dark recesses of our collections and opened them on the show. Most of the beers that were opened were older than our children. Rob opens a VERY sour Stone Enjoy After, Jay Rose breaks down how to drink a sour beer, Steve Zimmerman from Jupiter shares some of the more ridiculous things he finds in record collections, and Richard enjoys an 11 year old 120 IPA. Chuck Garrity from Death Of A Fox Brewing in Clarksboro NJ hangs for a bit to explain how his brewery is a coffee house and his coffee house is a brewery. Very cool stuff. Open a beer from your vault and enjoy the ride!
72 was recorded at the Blue Monkey Tavern in Merchantville NJ first with just us, then with the Founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewing, Sam Calagione. You might remember Dogfish from such productions as 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, 120 Minute IPA, and literally changing the face of craft brewing in America. We wrap up AC Beer Fest, we talk about Dogfish Beers, the Beer Biz, music, craft beer cocktails, and variety pack packaging that doubles as a cooler. A very compelling episode with one of the people on our Craft Beer Mt. Rushmore. Heady stuff!
We have another whale for you this week and it’s a big one! Sam Calagione, the founder of Dogfish Head Brewing, has come to town and he sits down with us to share some terrific beers and chat! Sam gives us his views on recent events in the craft beer world, talks about being a hotelier, and fills us in on the latest brews from Delaware! We so love hearing from you! In Ep #65 Tony & Eddie talk about the love and hate (it seems like mostly hate) relationship they have with DC's Justice League (2017). This movie is no Marvel's Avengers, but it's also not Batman V Superman. There's good in here. Mixed in with many many mistakes. The boys agree that they can see glimmers of the good Joss Whedon here. But there's also a lot of bad Snyder to contend with. All-in-all the Tony & Eddie agree that there's reasons to watch this film. There's just a lot they'd also suggest be changed. While the boys discussed this DC roller coaster ride they sampled new beers from Dogfish Head Brewing and Grey Sail Brewing companies. Listen to this week's episode to find out more!
