Now the CEO and a cofounder, Paul handles the business side of things while channeling creativity and hustle from his roots in hip hop. Coverage has said they "changed Portland beer forever" with their hazy IPA, and the innovation extends to their technology - give their immersive app a try - and to their focus on humanity - their fundraising goes to great causes. During the pandemic, a lot of breweries were launched into all things digital trying to find unique ways to directly engage with consumers. Though this was in the works prior to the pandemic, I knew I had to talk to Great Notion Brewing about their new app and hear more about their direct-to-consumer strategy over this past year and a half. I chat with Paul Reiter, CEO & Co-Founder of Great Notion Brewing in Portland, Oregon, about what it takes to open a brewery...especially now that they have five locations, how the beer labels have now inspired this magical world they've created in their own app which now includes a video game component, and what beer style is the hottest trend this year. Great Notion Brewing (GNB) is a brewery started by three friends and neighbors in Portland, Oregon. We offer hazy, fruit-forward IPAs and “culinary-inspired” sours & stouts. https://greatnotion.com/GNB has won numerous Gold and Silver medals over the years, including accolades at World Beer Cup, GABF, Best of Craft Beer Awards, and Oregon Beer Awards, as well as the 2018 #1 IPA in America from Paste Magazine. GN has 5 taprooms in the Pacific Northwest: @greatnotionalberta , @greatnotionnw and @greatnotionbeaverton in Portland and @greatnotionballard (opening EOY 2020) and @greatnotiongeorgetown in Seattle. We sell our beer direct to beer drinkers from our own taprooms in draft and cans to-go. Our barrel program offers award-winning American sour ales aged for 9-24 months in oak barrels. A portion of our sour ales are blended with Oregon fruit like pinot noir grapes, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries. Freshly emptied Bourbon barrels age our imperial stouts on ingredients like roasted coffee, vanilla beans, chocolate, and maple syrup. Our brewpubs serve creative Northwest food delicacies such as flavorful seafood dishes, award-winning fried chicken sandwiches, house-smoked BBQ, imperial kale caesar salads and more. When it comes to brewing creative craft beer, we realize the immense talent within this city. We've been inspired by many, in Portland and beyond. We wouldn't be here without the brewers who came before us, who took chances, tried something new, and shared their experience.#beer #brewing #hazy #sours #stouts #ipa #brewery #fruit #ales #culinaryinspired #taprooms #barrels #drafts #canstogo #worldbeercup #brewpub #portland #oregon #seattle #babsoncollege #startup #strategy #entrepreneur #smallbusiness #businessstrategy #podcast #covid19 #socialdistancing #innovators #mindingyourbusiness #thankyouFollow Great Notion Brewing https://www.instagram.com/greatnotionhttps://www.facebook.com/greatnotionhttps://twitter.com/GreatNotionPDXhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/great-notion-brewing-and-barrel-house/ Learn about Great Notion Brewing https://www.myballard.com/2020/12/28/great-notion-brewing-now-open-in-ballard/https://newschoolbeer.com/home/2020/12/great-notion-seattle-ballard-open https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEuUojfam-ocExcaBnPuO1ASupport the show (https://www.lcgbrands.com/advertisewithmybpodcast)

It’s Joe’s last week for a few months, so the guys crack open some Juice Jr. from Great Notion Brewing. The fellas try to talk about the Elam Ending in the NBA All-Star game, but get distracted by talk about strippers and Dwyane Wade rigging the dunk contest. The conversation shifts to the baseball season, and Mike drops a hot take...or conspiracy theory...about Manfred’s handling of the Astro’s cheating scandal. And Joe and Mookie have too much fun fixing baseball. The show wraps with some XFL talk and one of the craziest soccer stories ever dropped. Hopefully this means we are intentionally teaching our children through lessons and examples in order to shape their perceptions of money. Listen as we cover the foundational money principles that we feel will have the biggest impact on the way our kids view money.
