NO ENCORE travels to the wilds of County Clare (actually very peaceful, to be honest) for one week only as Dave Hanratty interrupts his time off to jump into a different studio – with the blessing from afar of Sonic Architect Adam, of course. Local boy Daithí returns to the podcast, with his faithful drummer and operations manager Alex Ridley for company. With their powers combined, the trio boot up and download accordingly as they get into the intriguing world of diegetic music in video games. But what does all that mean, you ask? Essentially, any time music is actually in a scene rather than scoring it - something a character interacts with, creates, or is aware of. Yes, it's going to get very nerdy on this episode. ACT ONE: Catching up with all things occurring in the world of Daithí O'Dronaí. ACT TWO (9:08): A rare live music opportunity sees Dave break out the gig calculator, Sabrina Carpenter offends the devout, Metallica take the blood money, Kiss Korner returns in dramatic fashion, The Hives plot world domination, and Eminem goes digital - it's the news. ACT THREE (36:36): Top 5 Diegetic Video Game Music.-Visit Daithí's websiteFollow Daithí on Instagram // Twitter/XFollow Alex Ridley on InstagramBuy Tickets to Daithí & Elaine Mai's Improv Show @ The Workmans ClubVisit The Beekeepers websiteVisit Common Threads website Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Vinyl Hours is a series of talks with music aficionados in conversation with music maestro Tiernan Henry. On this episode Tiernan sits down with Irish Electronic powerhouse Elaine Mai. Elaine Mai has captivated fans and critics alike with her mesmerising performances and unique blend of emotive dance music and in this episode she shares the music that moves her. This episode was recorded live at GIAF 2023. Spend an hour on an aural journey of treasured musical memories with special guests, who reveal their go-to playlists, the soundtrack to their lives and explore what exactly it stirs within them; fun, heartbreak and revolution.
On Friday's Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by local musician, Daithi O Dronaí. Daithí spoke about the Common Threads event taking place Saturday week. The event will showcase a stellar lineup, which will feature performances from acts such as Paul Noonan from Bell X1, Nealo, Daithí, Junior Brother, Elaine Mai, Niamh Regan, and DJ Sally Cinnamon. The breathtaking surrounds of The Burren North will provide the epic backdrop for Common Threads, a one-day voyage of musical and cultural discovery, Saturday the 14th of October 2023.
With her powerful voice and equally incredible band, Fight Like Aoes, Maykay belted onto the scene in the early noughties and absolutely lit up the Irish music scene. After 3 albums the band went their separate ways but her journey sontinued with the likes of the isonic Le Galaxie and collaborations with the likes of Elaine Mai. As much a force for good in front of the camera as she is behind the mic, she has helmed coverage for Other Voices for 8nyears and has recently travelled to Palestine to help those that need it to find their own powerful voice. With the announcement of another FLA gig next year, she dropped into Recored History to share her story and 3 supreme record picks. Enjoy! If Maykay inspires you to go and buy one of the records she mentions (or just one from your own Recorded History) then we'd love if you supported our partners at TheRecordHub.com. They've given us a 15% discount code to pass on so use TRHPod15 at TheRecordHub.com to avail of that generous offer.

Hindsight – Season 1 Episode 6 – Elaine Mai Elaine Mai is no stranger to success. Her most recent release ‘No Forever (feat. MayKay)' garnered widespread acclaim and achieved 10 million impressions across Irish radio. It hit No.2 in the Irish Radio Breakers chart and peaked at No.6 in the Viral 50 Ireland Spotify chart.Named a ‘vital Irish artist' by Clash Magazine, Elaine Mai is just getting started. Her latest single 'Still Feel' with Ailbhe Reddy hints at what's to come on her hotly anticipated debut album due for release later this year. An advocate for gender equality and women's rights, she is one of three artists representing Ireland with Keychange - an EU initiative working towards a total restructuring of the music industry to help reach full gender equality. She was also a featured singer on the No.1 single ‘Dreams', the cover of The Cranberries' hit by Irish Women in Harmony, which took the country by storm in 2020 and raised over €250,000 for anti-domestic violence charity SAFE Ireland. 2021 is shaping up to be a big year for this ever-evolving artist. https://twitter.com/HindsightConvohttps://www.instagram.com/hindsight_conversations/FB: hindsightconversations See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The Panti Personals S1 E7 Elaine Mai For maybe the first time in our Pantisocracy world Panti Bliss gets to chin wag with a fellow county woman, electronic composer, singer and musician Elaine Mai. In those days there were few women leading in that genre and she had no role model, now in her mid 30s she is not just a role model herself, composing, producing and recording her own work, but also leading in creating a more gender equal environment for women in the music industry. January is almost dust but there's still time for a music podcast to throw its scalding hot takes around. Dave Hanratty and Craig Fitzpatrick mine Top 5 gold this week as the best one-and-done albums come into focus. Before that, we chat with Elaine Mai and MayKay as they release the stomping pandemic antidote that is 'No Forever' – WARNING: Not strictly an antidote, just a great song that helps you escape for a few minutes at a time. ACT ONE: A couple of announcements including Dave getting an unlikely shock. ACT TWO (7:25): The role of the critic is up for debate yet again, Wayne Coyne makes it to Morning Ireland, Dolly Parton wants to accompany you on a walk and an old favourite returns – it's the week in music news. ACT THREE (26:34): Elaine Mai and MayKay in conversation. ACT FOUR (48:54): We've teased it once or twice but it's finally time to shine a light on the greatest one-and-done albums to ever do it. High emotions, unsolved mysteries and the tension of possible crossover abound on this week's Top 5. In today’s episode, we chat with Irish artist Elaine Mai, whose atmospheric and melodic electronic music we love. We had the pleasure to see her perform at Body and Soul. We talk about what it’s it like to not have a grand plan but to take things one step at a time, how she combines her regular job with doing live electronic music and the discipline it takes but also the kindness to oneself when you don’t always fulfil ambitious plans.
Welcome to the first episode of Don't Stop Repealin', a weekly podcast series in the run-up to the referendum. This week, we get a state of the nation from Coalition Convener Ailbhe Smyth and run through the top five tips for staying sane during the campaign. Find all our socials and more on www.dontstoprepealin.com. In this podcast, we're using a track called 'Enniscrone' from electronic artist, Elaine Mai. Check out her newest EP, 'The Colour of the Night' at all of the usual outlets. (www.elainemai.com)
