Reeves' Spring statement is looming but as Marina and Jemma await what sound like it's going to be underwhelming, unimaginative and full of austerity, they get into the far juicier news from across the pond. Should any attack be planned on a group chat? And even if so, perhaps inviting in a journalist wasn't the cleverest thing to do. Though given said chat is strewn with emojis and demonstrates no care for the loss of life they're planning to inflict, perhaps clever would be pushing it in the first place. Still, Trump has way more important thing to worry about than National Security. Someone's painted a portrait of him and he doesn't like it. In fact, he's furious so spends a lot of his day wailing about it on socials like the fragile cheesy wotsit he surely is. All against a backdrop of deportations on a scale that will blow your mind. Jemma and Marina had warned about Project 2025 prior to the US election, the manifesto laid out by the darkest of think tanks. Trump always said he didn't know anything about it. He also says he doesn't know anything about the incredibly serious breach of security committed by his administration....hmm. Still, Marina and Jemma probably won't be visiting America any time soon, partly because there's a chance they wouldn't be allowed in. Listen to find out why and then maybe consider if you'll be taking a 'vacation' there any time soon. Bill Bailey stars as Guy Starling, a middle aged man who, after 45 years, and for reasons quite unknown to him, is suddenly revisited by his imaginary childhood friend, Hennikay. When Guy's great business idea – developing a phone-based app designed to stop people using phone based apps – unsurprisingly fails, he needs to find a job. And so he attends a sales seminar with Shining Path, who are apparently, "the number one providers of after-life finance packages in the UK".However, his attention is constantly derailed by the constant chatter of Hennikay, his imaginary childhood friend, who is still determinedly living in his head. And if that wasn't enough, he also has to cope with Tony, his old boss, who is also there, competing with him to land a job.But try as he might, Guy really can't get enthused by the idea of a career selling pre-paid funeral plans to the people of Maidstone. Was this what he thought his life was going to be, when he and Hennikay were young together, way back in 1976?Acclaimed comedian - and Strictly Come Dancing champion - Bill Bailey leads a series cast which includes Tony Gardner and Elizabeth Carling in this warm, funny look at childhood, adulthood and some of the follies of modern life, where a man with a confused child in his head might just be the sanest person in the room.Written by David SpicerGuy: Bill Bailey Hennikay: Max Lester Tony: Tony Gardner Stacia: Rebecca BoeyProducer: Liz Anstee A CPL production for BBC Radio 4

In his first memoir, beloved comedian and national treasure Bill Bailey shares stories of his life - and the animals he's met along the way. Bill Bailey has always had dogs, including a Patterdale terrier called Rocky who would travel with him in the van to his first shows and occasionally join him on stage. Fast forward a few decades and Bill has shared his home with a variety of birds, dogs, frogs, chameleons and an armadillo called Tommy. 'We even had a giant chicken, a huge Malay cockerel called Kid Creole. After a few stand-offs he took against me. He had to go in the end, I was being stalked in my own back garden.' That chicken apart, animals have always been at the heart of an extraordinary life as one of the nation's favourite comedians, actors, musicians and (thanks to Strictly) dancers: from terriers to the orangutans of Sumatra and the parrots that share his breakfast every morning in west London. Full of the leftfield humour, wit and wisdom that has made Bill Bailey such a beloved performer around the world, My Animals and Other Animals is the story of Bill's life; but more than that, it's the story of how all of our lives are enriched by the animals who accompany us on that journey.

From his breakout role as Manny in the cult TV show Black Books, to his exceptional talent for playing multiple instruments, he always leaves his audiences feeling brighter. Bill is fascinated with natural history and humanity, his curiosity knows no bounds and music has been a constant companion. I asked him to Take 5 with songs that reflect humanity, and he gifted me an extraordinary conversation about life, death, risk taking and memory making. Have you heard the news? Willies are getting bigger! Hello there and welcome to The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Podcast with Zoe - sorry - Toby Tarrant. As Chris, Dom and Producer James are off this week, Toby is here to save the day, alongside Chris Smith to fill in for Dom.Toby was joined by five absolutely fantastic guests this week. Despite the impressions, Donald Trump didn't come, neither did Miss Piggy, Yoda almost did, but Louis Armstrong definitely, definitely didn't. The week kicked off with a visit from Richard Hammond, straight from his workshop where he repaired Radio X's Johnny Vaughn's Maserati. Then, comedian and new member of the Global family, Mo Gilligan, made his Radio X debut, telling us all about his new podcast on Global Player. Next, actor, comedian and Toby's new bestie Tom Davis dropped by, and the wonderful Bill Bailey talked about his new hairdo and S.O.F.A. workout. Finally, Toby got starstruck as he met wrestler and rock icon Chris Jericho, ahead of his AEW appearance this weekend. Though he didn't put Toby in The Walls of Jericho, he did give us a hot take about two of the greatest bands in UK history…Oasis and S Club 7. Finally, ahead of Toby's pedalo challenge, ‘Tarrant vs the Thames' for Global's Make Some Noise, we've recruited the Head of Health and Safety at Global to give Toby some stern (and much needed) advice. Also, Toby gets his pineapples on as he plugnes into an ice pool. So go on, treat yourself! Hit play on the poddy and you'll also hear…A tale about Toby's airport angerThe most unexpected second round of Squeak, Squeal, Squawk, the weird animal noise quizToby's boo boo Enjoy! This episode of Reading With Your Kids featured two authors introducing us to their children's books that celebrate human-animal bonds and culture. Bethany Murgia, author of "Wagnificent", shared how her graphic novel was inspired by her dog. She discussed researching dog behavior and domestication to portray the dog's perspective accurately through illustrations. Murgia described creating a series to focus on empathy and understanding between species. Jedlie brought up experiences growing up with many dogs and interviewed Murgia about the challenges of writing graphic novels. They imagined families enjoying "Wagnificent" through read-alouds and conversations about nonverbal communication. A N Stewart, author of "Bill Bailey, Please Come Home", discussed how her New Orleans-based children's book series highlights the city's culture, music, and strong neighborhood ties. She reflected on the impact of Hurricane Katrina and COVID-19, including business closures and a growing disconnect among residents. Stewart emphasized the role of art and music in bridging divides and promoting critical thinking across generations and cultures. Both authors celebrated finding community and making connections through shared experiences, even with differences in beliefs. The conversation provided insight into the authors' personal inspirations and journeys to publication.
