Transcript: Hello, this is Pastor Don Willeman of Christ Redeemer Church. Welcome to the Kingdom Perspective. How should we respond to the cultural chaos we see all around? We should learn from earlier Christians, such as St. Patrick, and the churches that originated from him. When European civilization was overwhelmed by barbarian hordes, the recently converted Celtic tribes preserved, and then eventually reestablished, Christianity throughout the continent. In the words of Thomas Cahill, “the Irish…saved civilization” (see How the Irish Saved Civilization by Thomas Cahill). Most basically, they did this by starting and nurturing churches—essentially monastic-type communities that cared for every aspect of life. Jesus's Lordship redeems all of life, and they put this truth into practice. These Irish monasteries were different from the Roman ones. As one writer put it: “The…monasteries [in Roman Christianity] were organized to protest against and escape from the materialism of the Roman world and the corruption of the church; the Celtic monasteries organized to penetrate the pagan world and extend the church.” (see The Celtic Way of Evangelism by George Hunter). These Celtic Christian communities were not an escape from the “public square”, but a mission to it. Often these monasteries were set up at the gates of ancient cities, in order to minister the gospel to these cities. They were, in effect, a “new city” shining as a light within an existing city. For us, this means the redemptive community of the church must become all the more essential. How can we live together as a distinctively new society amid our existing society that is so full of fear and division? How can we love and care for one another, practically, in such a way that the watching world sees the truth of the gospel through our shared life in the church? All of these are very good question, and indeed… …something to think about from The Kingdom Perspective. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” ~ 1 Peter 2:9-12 (ESV)

CIA mad scientist Sidney Gottlieb had job opening that might as well have been custom-made for Goerge Hunter White. White had experience in drugging people for experiments during his time in the OSS. He loved drugs himself. He had few scruples when it came to committing acts of cruelty and violence. And perhaps most importantly, he had access to low-level criminals and other social outcasts -- people who would never consider reporting anything done to them to law enforcement. So it was that White would become a key figure in the horror story that was Project MK ULTRA by running his own side project, Operation Midnight Climax.

Jon Griggs is the Ranch Manager for Maggie Creek Ranch LP in Elko, NV. No one's quite sure of the exact date, but sometime in the late 1800s, two men raised as brothers—George Hunter and George Banks—founded what today is called the Maggie Creek Ranch. The ranch has exchanged hands a few times since then but has been owned and still active ownership of the Searle Family since 1975. Maggie Creek Ranch is in the business of producing high-quality beef while conserving and improving public and private lands. Their goal is to be the best possible stewards of their resources while feeding the world through production agriculture. The operation consists of approximately 198,000 acres of owned (deeded) and leased BLM (grazing permitted grazing land.) Jon's got 30+ years of ranching experience and running some of the largest outfits in Nevada, and at one point worked for the biggest landowner and rancher in America, which he will get into on the show. He currently serves as President-Elect for the Nevada Cattlemen's Association and is on the board of trustees for the Western Folklife Center. Jon worked his way up from Cowboy, to Cow boss, to Ranch Manager at Maggie Creek, and has learned many things along the way, including how to manage people. It was a real pleasure speaking with Jon and one of his many quotable moments that stood out to me during the show was when he said, “I talk about the people I work with, I don't talk about the people that work for me. I try to learn as much about them, and with that get the best of them, and figure out the skills that they have fit, with what we need.” Jon is as genuine and authentic as a person that you are going to meet. About Bear Williams In 1976, I attended the funeral services of "Howlin Wolf" at the A.R. Leak Funeral Home in Chicago.  I was just 17 but it was a very impactful moment in time for me. I was just deciding at that time what I wanted to do with my life and I just knew soon after that chance encounter with the late legend that music would indeed become my life's passion.  My high school band director, Mr. George Hunter was the teacher that urged not only myself, but all of my classmates to attend this homegoing service. Mister Hunter didn't let us know who the artist was, but what he did say was "All of you need to go up to Leak's funeral home after school today and pay your respects to a giant in the music industry." I think the seeds of the Blues were somehow planted in me that day. Throughout my long career I've played many styles of music from Rock to Soul to Jazz to Country to Reggae to Pop. But I must admit, that the one music that brings me the greatest joy inside my soul is that of the Blues and Americana roots genre. Perhaps it's the simplicity and rawness of the music coupled with the complexity and raw emotion of the stories that grabs me and just won't let go. The great B.B. King once said that, "The Blues is soothing to me, just like if someone had a toothache and a dentist gives them some medicine to stop the toothache." That's what the Blues meant to B.B. and I can agree with him wholeheartedly.  My new project, "Waters Of Love" is the beginning of a brand new journey in music for me. Its a path that I am extremely proud and excited to be traveling upon. If you're a fan of Blues and Americana Roots music, then won't you come along on this journey with me? I know that we'll have a ball together!

How do you break cycles? Domestic Violence is an EPIDEMIC in this country. Have you seen the ACEsTooHigh study? Arundel Hunter and I discuss some of top worst things you can do as a parent and how to change course — even if you’re doing them. There is only shame in willful ignorance. Time to turn the tide. Children learn what they live. There is Another Way to break cycles. Arundel Bell Hunter is a stay at home mother, which is one of the hardest jobs there is. She was born in Navasota, TX in 1979. Arundel went to Episcopal School of Dallas and graduated in 1997. She went to a couple of colleges and graduated with a television degree at Southern Methodist University in 2005. Arundel then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a television producer of talk and reality television. After 4 years, she moved back to Dallas to work in television, public relations, social media, non- profit fundraising, was a writer and then met the love of her life. She married her amazing husband in October 2013. Then she embarked on a journey of motherhood and has never turned back. As a mother of two and a wife in Dallas, TX. She has an open, happy, on the go, and honest approach to parenting and changing the cycle of life for her children. Arundel Bell Hunter is a 40 year old hot wife to George Hunter and an awesome mother to Ben, 4 and Eleanor, 6 months old.
