Además de Batlle, las fotos y los videos muestran a los senadores Enrique Tarigo, Juan José Zorrilla, Américo Ricaldoni, Luis Bernardo Pozzolo, Eduardo Paz Aguirre, Luis Hierro Gambardella, Carlos Cigliutti, Alfredo Traversoni, Juan Adolfo Singer, Manuel Flores Silva, Pedro W. Cersósimo, Raumar Jude, Eugenio Capeche, Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, Alberto Zumarán, Gonzalo Aguirre, Juan Raúl Ferreira, Uruguay Tourné, Dardo Ortíz, Carlos Julio Pereyra, Guillermo García Costa, Juan Martín Posadas, Carminillo Mederos, Franciso Ubillos, Germán Araújo, Francisco Rodríguez Camusso, Hugo Batalla, José Pedro Cardoso, Enrique Martínez Moreno, Luis Alberto Senatore.

The conversation covers a range of topics, including personal introductions, running, work, the impact of COVID-19, and the creation of social media content. Omar shares his journey of self-acceptance and the impact of social media on his life. He discusses the importance of representation and inspiring others through his running journey. The conversation also delves into the therapeutic benefits of running and the unexpected opportunities that have arisen from his social media presence. "I think it's all not communities are pretty equal. I think that there's certain fitness communities that are really bro -ish, you know, or more physical, you know, you look at it a certain way. This Day in Legal History: Lots of Things On March 13th, various significant events have unfolded in the realm of legal history, reflecting the ever-evolving landscape of law and justice across the globe. On this day in 1781, Sir William Herschel's discovery of Uranus led to international legal discussions on the naming rights of celestial bodies, a precursor to modern space law debates. In 1868, the impeachment trial of President Andrew Johnson began, marking the first time a U.S. president faced such proceedings, underscoring the constitutional checks and balances in American governance.Fast forward to 1961, the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Posadas de Puerto Rico Associates v. Tourism Company of Puerto Rico established significant precedents regarding states' rights and the commerce clause, affecting how businesses and state regulations interacted. On March 13, 1989, the Internet's precursor, ARPANET, was hit by one of the first major digital security incidents, leading to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 being amended to address such modern challenges, illustrating the law's attempt to keep pace with technological advancements. Moreover, on this day in 1996, the Dunblane school massacre occurred in Scotland, leading to stringent gun control laws in the United Kingdom, a pivotal moment in the global debate on gun regulation. This tragic event underscores how legal systems can rapidly evolve in response to societal tragedies. In more recent history, March 13, 2013, saw the election of Pope Francis, which brought to the forefront discussions about canon law, the legal system governing the Roman Catholic Church, highlighting the intersection of law and religion. These events, spanning centuries and continents, illustrate the dynamic nature of legal history and its profound impact on societal norms, regulations, and governance. As we reflect on these milestones, it becomes evident that the law is a living entity, constantly adapting to the complexities of human civilization. The federal judiciary has introduced a new policy to combat "judge shopping," a tactic where litigants select specific courts hoping for a favorable ruling, particularly noted in challenges to Biden administration actions in Texas. This practice, prevalent in cases aimed at barring or implementing state or federal actions, will now see civil actions randomly assigned to judges within a district, countering any local practices of case assignments to a single judge. This move, according to Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the Judicial Conference's executive committee, is a response to the increasing use of national injunctions that have seen district judges block nationwide policies across various administrations. While the policy's full implementation details remain unclear, it represents a significant shift aimed at ensuring impartiality and reducing the perception of the judiciary as politically influenced. The policy has drawn attention to judges like Matthew Kacsmaryk and Alan Albright, who have been focal points for conservative cases and patent cases, respectively. Despite these changes, challenges in areas not affecting state and federal law may still experience judge shopping. The judiciary's move is seen as a step towards fairness, although its effectiveness and scope are yet to be fully understood.Federal Courts Aim to Curb Judge Shopping With New Policy (3)US federal judiciary moves to curtail 'judge shopping' tactic | ReutersThe push towards unionizing student athletes, notably highlighted by Dartmouth College's men's basketball team's vote to unionize, has sparked significant controversy and concern among Republicans and university athletics representatives. This development comes amid debates in Congress, particularly focused on whether student athletes should be classified as employees, a question intensified by the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) decision to allow Dartmouth students to hold a union election. Critics, such as Rep. Burgess Owens, argue that recognizing student athletes as employees poses an "existential threat" to college sports, fearing widespread unintended consequences that could extend beyond NCAA Division I to impact Division II and III, as well as high school athletes.University representatives worry about the implications of employment status on issues ranging from tax exemptions for scholarships to visa eligibility for international students. They also fear the potential for the NLRB's stance to fluctuate with political changes. Proponents of the NLRB's decision, however, argue that past decisions, like the one involving Northwestern University football players, have been misinterpreted and that circumstances have evolved to warrant a reevaluation of student athletes' rights. They advocate for student athletes having a "seat at the table" to negotiate conditions pertinent to their dual roles as students and athletes. This debate gains further complexity considering the recent legal milestones, such as the Supreme Court's NCAA v. Alston case and the NLRB's Columbia University decision, both favoring expanded rights and compensation for students. Amidst these divided opinions, there's consensus on the need for a new approach to how student athletes are treated, with unionization seen as a potential catalyst for change.Unionizing Student Athletes Called ‘Existential Threat' by GOPIn the climax of New York's budget discussions, state Senate and Assembly Democrats have proposed tax increases on high earners and corporations, diverging sharply from Governor Kathy Hochul's stance against income tax hikes. This move aims to address concerns over New York's high tax burden and the outmigration of taxpayers, with progressive factions advocating for these tax hikes to fund education and Medicaid, contrary to Hochul's budgetary constraints. The legislative bodies' budget resolutions, contrasting with Hochul's $233 billion plan, also suggest restrictions on social media for minors and the establishment of an AI research consortium, amongst other priorities. While supporting the enhancement of housing construction and tech regulations, Hochul's budget seeks to manage future deficits through spending limits on public schools and Medicaid, positions not endorsed in the legislative proposals. Despite agreeing on a commercial security tax credit and extending a cap on itemized deductions for the wealthiest, the chambers reject Hochul's approach to school funding, Medicaid spending, and tech governance, indicating a significant battleground. The contention extends to technology policies, where both the Senate and Assembly resist Hochul's proposed AI and social media regulations, though they do introduce other data privacy initiatives. With a looming April 1 deadline and the complexities of Easter timing, achieving consensus appears challenging, especially given Hochul's constitutional leverage and the political implications for upcoming elections. Hochul, emphasizing the urgency to protect children from digital harms, faces a delicate balance between her tech policy goals and securing an on-time budget amidst these divergent legislative priorities.NY Lawmakers' Budgets Oppose Governor's Plans on Taxes, HousingSecuring a summer associate position at a major law firm was significantly more challenging in 2023, with the offer rate to law students at its lowest since 2012. Law firms made 19% fewer offers compared to the previous year, decreasing the average number of offers from 28 in 2022 to 22 in 2023. This reduction in offers resulted in a record-high overall acceptance rate of 47%, as law students found themselves with fewer options to choose from. The decline in summer associate hiring is attributed to a decrease in client demand and the high number of summer associates hired in 2022, leaving firms cautious about adding new talent amidst uncertain client demand. Furthermore, the competition was intensified by a 12% increase in the law student class size for 2024, exacerbating the challenge of securing these coveted positions.Large law firms typically use summer associate programs as a key recruitment tool, offering students six- to 14-week positions that often lead to permanent job offers upon graduation, sometimes with starting salaries up to $225,000. These programs serve as an economic indicator for the legal industry, with firms adjusting their hiring based on anticipated demand. Additionally, the practice of "precruiting," or extending offers ahead of official on-campus interview programs, has risen, with 47% of offers made before these formal events in 2023, up from 23% in 2022. This shift indicates a change in how law firms are approaching recruitment, with most of the decline in offers occurring through school-sponsored interview programs.Law firm summer associate recruiting hits 11-year low in 2023 | Reuters Get full access to Minimum Competence - Daily Legal News Podcast at www.minimumcomp.com/subscribe

Gold, frankincense and myrrh.00:01:42JackIs that what it?00:01:42발표자Yeah, yeah.00:01:42JackIs OK alright. I don't know what Murray is. Actually, I don't know what frankincense is either, but.00:01:47XochitlFrankincense is a type of like it's a it's like a potpourri, or like an incense type of thing. It's a smell. I've smelled it before. It's kind of it smells kind of like minty.00:01:55JackOK. OK. OK.00:02:02XochitlBut look really sweet. I don't know.00:02:03JackThat's nice. Oh, OK. OK. Frank, it's. I mean, it kind of sounds like frankincense kind of sounds like some kind of incense. You know, like it comes to the word incense, but, but murder?00:02:03XochitlHow to?00:02:05XochitlIt is nice.00:02:13XochitlRight, yeah.00:02:16XochitlYeah, I don't know what that one is.00:02:19XochitlI'll be honest.00:02:19JackWhat is that? OK. All right. Have no idea if you know what Mer is. Please let us know. Send us.00:02:20XochitlI have no.00:02:21XochitlI don't have that one.00:02:24XochitlAn e-mail leave us a comment.00:02:29XochitlOr time in the we chat or.00:02:30XochitlWhatsApp groups, but uh.00:02:32XochitlYeah. So what we do typically is that we exchange gifts on this day kind of like you would for Christmas and then we.00:02:42XochitlCut up the roska, which is a three kings cake or King's cake. Kind of like Mardi Gras where you have.00:02:48XochitlKing's cake it's.00:02:49XochitlA similar kind of consistency. It's flavored with orange and anise seed.00:02:55XochitlAnd it has, like marzipan and cherries and candied orange peels. UM on the top.00:03:04XochitlAnd the very interesting.00:03:05JackOhh nice.00:03:06XochitlYeah, it is really tasty. I had two pieces, but the really interesting part about this pastry, it's shaped like a ring and everyone cuts their own peace. And if you get there's three plastic baby jesuses inside the.00:03:24XochitlThe cake and if you get a baby Jesus on February 2nd, you have to make tomorrow's for every.00:03:32JackOh, really? OK.00:03:36JackDid you get a baby Jesus?00:03:38XochitlNo, I I have a few tricks up.00:03:40XochitlMy sleeve Jack. So.00:03:42JackNobody wants.00:03:42JackA baby Jesus. You don't want a baby Jesus.00:03:45XochitlYou don't want a baby Jesus because then you have to make tomorrow and no one wants to make tamales. So I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I use to avoid the baby. Jesuses #1 is.00:03:57XochitlThe riskiest part is when you've cut your first piece of cake, you're pretty much.00:04:02XochitlIt's just your luck on luck.00:04:04JackYou got you go.00:04:04JackLeft or you go right. I mean that's it, right? I mean, right.00:04:07XochitlYeah, you have no pretty much no.00:04:12XochitlSay you kind of want to be in the middle.00:04:14XochitlOf the pack because.00:04:18XochitlIf you are the first person to cut, you have no idea. And if you're the last person to cut, then unless everyone else magically got a baby Jesus, which is very unlikely, then you're running out of space. You know what I mean? Like.00:04:31XochitlYou're running out.00:04:32XochitlOf real estate there. So it's likely that you're getting a baby Jesus, but if you're.00:04:36XochitlSomewhere in the middle of the pack.00:04:37XochitlIf someone just got a baby, the best time to go is.00:04:39XochitlIf someone just got a baby.00:04:41JackYeah, go right next to their their baby Jesus because.00:04:45XochitlThanks. Yeah.00:04:46JackThere's not going to be two.00:04:47JackBaby Jesus, next to each other, right?00:04:49XochitlYeah, they're not right next to each other. So I mean, when I used to make it, sometimes I put them.00:04:53XochitlNext to each other.00:04:56JackYou trick people, OK?00:04:57XochitlYeah, but you don't know where.00:05:01XochitlYou don't know where you they are. Even if you baked it, because once you bake it, you bake it with the baby.00:05:05XochitlJuice inside by.00:05:06XochitlThe way I know that can't be good for you.00:05:09XochitlBut or maybe?00:05:09JackThat can't be good, that those those are forever plastic chemicals, you know, so.00:05:14XochitlI know, but yeah. But you.00:05:16XochitlForget by the time it's ready where you put the baby Jesus. So it's like you.00:05:22XochitlThat's the best time is what right after someone got a baby Jesus.00:05:26XochitlThe other thing the other way that.00:05:28XochitlI avoid it is.00:05:30XochitlIf you already got a baby dude so you can eat as many slices as you want because getting the 2nd baby juices doesn't make you have to make more tamales.00:05:37JackNo, it's you're already. You're already done anyway. You're you're you've lost already, so.00:05:38XochitlWell, it's.00:05:43XochitlI just avoid a second slice until everyone has already.00:05:47XochitlGotten a baby Jesus? Like if they've already found three baby jesuses, then I can have as many slices as I want, but I tend.00:05:53XochitlTo hold out until that point.00:05:55JackOK.00:05:56JackOK.00:05:57JackWhat about? I'm just, I'm just brainstorming here, but what if?00:06:00JackYou cut really slowly.00:06:03JackAnd then you feel the plastic, you know, baby Jesus kind of touch the knife.00:06:10JackBut you can feel which side the the baby Jesus is on.00:06:14JackAnd then you cut the other go. The other way is that does that count? Or if you touch the baby Jesus with the knife, does that mean you you're now making tamales for everybody?00:06:25XochitlYes, because if you even if it peeks out, like even if you slice didn't have any, if you can see it when you cut it, like if it's in the then it's yours.00:06:34JackOh, OK, OK. So you.00:06:36XochitlPut it with the knife and you like moved your knife because you felt it. Everyone would. Everyone's watching you cut. So everyone be like you felt it. So you're making it tomorrow. Like they don't care. But I'll be really dirty. Trick that I used to have up my sleeve when I was a kid. Is that when everyone was distracted? I would. It's like a.00:06:54JackYou would poke a toothpick in there.00:06:57XochitlNo, I would pick it up and look at the bottom because you can see the.00:07:00XochitlHoles where they put the baby juices in.00:07:04JackSo you would know exactly where not to OK.00:07:08XochitlYeah, we're not to cut. And just, like, make a mental note of it. That was when I was younger I.00:07:12XochitlTried not to be that unfair.00:07:14JackYeah, that's some serious cheating right there. But yeah, you must be making tamales. Must be really awful. Must must be.00:07:21XochitlIt's not awful, but it's a lot of work, like no one to do it because you have to sit around. It's like an all day of Fair like you have to make the dough. You gotta boil the pork. You have to make the sauce. So that goes in there like you have. There's so many components to the ceiling and then you have to wrap each individual tomorrow. And you have to steam them in a pot, then you're done.00:07:24JackOK, OK.00:07:41XochitlSo it's like all the affair.00:07:43XochitlSo just no one.00:07:43JackI love tamales though. Ohh my gosh.00:07:46JackThey're so good.00:07:47XochitlI'm actually not a fan.00:07:48XochitlOf tamales either actually. So that's like.00:07:50JackReally. Ohh like that? I don't I.00:07:52JackThink I like them.00:07:54XochitlMore little ones with banana like that are wrapped in banana leaves. I do love those, but other other ones. I'm not a huge fan of. Yeah. So that's kind of the the big thing is like the excitement about whether you're gonna find a baby Jesus or not.00:08:08XochitlAnd do you have like hot cocoa or, you know, you drink it with like hot cocoa usually?00:08:13XochitlBecause it's not a super sweet. It's like it's kind.00:08:15XochitlOf a sweet.00:08:16XochitlBread, pastry kind of thing, but it's not very sweet. It's not like American pastries.00:08:21XochitlWhere it's like.00:08:21XochitlA mouthful of sugar. It's like a.00:08:22JackRight, right, right. Yeah.00:08:23XochitlVery light beef bread.00:08:25XochitlSo you dip it in your hot chocolate to complement it.00:08:29XochitlUM.00:08:31XochitlAnd that's kind of how you do it you.00:08:33XochitlKnow so.00:08:34JackSun right, actually.00:08:36XochitlYeah, it is really nice. I actually do, really.00:08:38XochitlEnjoy it and.00:08:40발표자Like did you?00:08:40JackGuys stretch out the holiday season even a little bit farther.00:08:43XochitlOh, ohhh yeah, we're bad in Mexico. If you if you whenever. If you ever moved to Mexico or go travel to Mexico or something. Everything. I mean, except businesses, some businesses and stuff, but any kind of like paperwork, anything like that is shut down completely from like December through the end of January.00:09:05XochitlDecember starts Posadas all the way until December 24th. Posadas are like.00:09:10XochitlWhen you know.00:09:11XochitlHow Mary and Joseph asked for a place to stay like they asked for refuge, I guess.00:09:17JackYeah, yeah, yeah.00:09:18XochitlSo you go around knocking. I told you about this before.00:09:21XochitlBut you go.00:09:22XochitlAround knocking door.00:09:22XochitlTo door and you like get hot chocolate and there's like party. It's like a part.00:09:26XochitlEvery night up until Christmas Eve. Then you party on Christmas. Then it's like you have New Year's. Then you have they smuggle. But January 6. And then there's still more stuff that you're doing up until February 2nd, where you have the people come back and have the tamales.00:09:47JackI love it. I love it. Months of celebrations? Yeah, that's.00:09:48XochitlSo it's just a party all through December and January.00:09:54XochitlIt's like doing some partying. Yeah, yeah.00:09:57JackI like it. I like it.00:09:59XochitlVery festive culture, which is something I appreciate and something a lot of.00:10:03XochitlPeople like but.00:10:04XochitlA lot of people aren't prepared for it when they move their full time because they get angry because they're like, why are there fireworks waking me up at 2:00 AM every night? It's like, well, they're.00:10:13XochitlPart people are partying cause it's like a patron, St's birthday or some kind of holiday. It's like pretty much every week there's a holiday of some sort.00:10:22JackRight. It's the day before the day before the three Kings Day. And it's the day after, you know? Yeah.00:10:23XochitlAnd they're not all set.00:10:28XochitlRight.00:10:29XochitlYeah, they after this. So it's kind of like it's a big celebratory culture and a lot of people enjoy that. But again, they're not really like ready for it because it's a lot of.00:10:41XochitlCommunity and like in America, we're so individualistic and we're so reserved and we don't like loud noises and we're very bothered by.00:10:51XochitlThose couple things and like it's something that I feel like a lot of Americans are really not prepared for when they move to Mexico. I see so many complaints on expat groups like why are people putting on fireworks? My poor dog is scared. I'm scared. I don't like the noise. I can't.00:11:07XochitlSleep and like it's.00:11:08XochitlJust that's how it is here.00:11:11XochitlI guess that it is better. Yeah, or. Yeah. But it's like not going to change anytime soon because it's just part of the culture, a huge part.00:11:11JackYeah, accept it or leave God love it.00:11:15JackLeave it.00:11:21XochitlOf the culture so.00:11:23XochitlYeah. In this episode of The A to Z English Podcast, Xochitl and Jack discuss their favorite Christmas traditions.Transcript:00:00:00JackYou're listening to the A-Z English podcast.00:00:14JackWelcome to the A to Z English podcast. My name is Jack and I am here with my co-host social. And today we are going to do a quick talk episode where we just discuss a topic. And today's question is what's your favorite family Christmas tradition?00:00:33JackAnd so, so I'll let I'll start with you first. What's your your favorite family Christmas tradition?00:00:40XochitlWell, Jack, I would say my favorite family Christmas.00:00:43XochitlWell, I have two, so I'll go over both briefly. I think for my American side, my favorite is probably making sugar cookies with my grandma in the US, we have that idea or the myth.00:00:59XochitlMyth that Santa comes to house and leaves presents and the children are supposed to leave milk and cookies out for Santa as a snack when he stops by your house. So.00:01:08JackRight.00:01:13XochitlWe would always.00:01:13XochitlMake cookies from scratch with my grandma and we would decorate them and I still really enjoy making cookies and decorating them. And last.00:01:24XochitlYear or two years.00:01:25XochitlAgo for Christmas, my grandma, maybe three years ago now, my grandma gifted me some old.00:01:33XochitlCookie cutters like some family cookie cutters.00:01:36JackLike from the 60s, you know those like metal ones? Yes, they're the.00:01:38XochitlYeah, like the vintage one. Yes. And I was really happy and excited about that. And that's definitely my favorite tradition.00:01:41JackBest, right? Yeah.00:01:49XochitlFor US style Christmas.00:01:52JackAnd do you?00:01:53JackDo you put a layer of like like like colored sugar coating? So like you'd make like a Santa with like a white belt and you make a like a tree which with green you put like green dye in it and stuff.00:01:54발표자OK.00:02:08XochitlYeah, you put like you make powdered sugar with like milk or water and you add the dye in and then you just, like, slather it with a knife or whatever onto the cookie.00:02:18발표자But we.00:02:19XochitlUsed to do that a lot with my grandma, but now that I make them.00:02:21XochitlKind of on my own, I still make.00:02:23XochitlThe icing but.00:02:24XochitlI just do like a little outline on the cookies because they're way too sweet for me otherwise.00:02:29JackYeah, I mean.00:02:30JackIt's just it's like sugar on sugar, right? Yeah.00:02:32XochitlYeah, it's really it's pretty much unpalatable. I mean, it was for me always my, I mean, not saying my grandma's recipes unpalatable just to sugar is like too much. I'm not a huge sweets person.00:02:46XochitlSo the sugar on the sugar is like tooth, achingly sweet. And I think in the US we have like, a a really sweet palette in general, because desserts are not that sweet. Other places in the world.00:02:58JackNo, you're right. That's that's a good point. I find that there there's more buttery kind of a flavor to like cake and things like that that they don't put so much sugar. It's almost sickly sweet in the US.00:03:12XochitlYeah, for sure.00:03:13JackSometimes, yeah.00:03:15XochitlAnd there's not that much.00:03:16XochitlOf a flavor profile because like, there's not that much depth of flavor, it's.00:03:20XochitlJust like sugar.00:03:20XochitlAnd more sugar.00:03:21XochitlThere's not like much more. Yeah, but for my Mexican tradition, I would say in Mexico, the presence actually come on three Kings Day and a lot of the Christmassy type.00:03:22JackSugar and sugar.00:03:35XochitlTraditions happen.00:03:36XochitlAnd then, but we do celebrate Christmas as well, but I would say it's more oriented around like a meal together. So I liked doing things like making tamales with my mom and my favorite absolute favorite thing is punchy, which is like fruit punch.00:03:56XochitlBut it's hot. It's like hot food and and it's really delicious. And my mom has the absolute best recipe.00:04:05XochitlMe that I have ever tried anytime someone is like ohh here's a cup of punch. I just know I'm gonna be disappointed because it's not as good.00:04:13XochitlAs my moms.00:04:16XochitlAnd she gave me the recipe, and I've since shared it with uh. Well, I've shared the punch, not the recipe with other people. And they agreed with us.00:04:22JackRight. Keep that secret, yeah.00:04:25XochitlYeah, my mom might stab me, but yeah, I think that that's definitely probably one of the one of my favorite.00:04:37XochitlHoliday traditions and in Mexico, like I said, the gifts and the present stuff is.00:04:42XochitlMore at a later date and during.00:04:45XochitlThis time we have Posadas which like are you walk around with candles and go like door to door caroling kind of.00:04:56XochitlAnd different people like receive you and you might get like.00:05:00XochitlPunch or hot chocolate or stuff like that.00:05:04JackYeah, OK. It's almost like the song the the, You know.00:05:08JackUM, we wish you a Merry Christmas that that song, you know, bring us some figgy pudding. It's like, give us something, you know, bring us a snack for singing a song to you for Carol and.00:05:20발표자Right.00:05:20JackYou you know.00:05:21XochitlYeah, in in Christmas carols. It is like pretty American, I guess. But like the post status is kind of a different thing. You're kind of. You're supposed to be recreating the religious aspect where, like, Mary and Joseph went door to door asking for shelter.00:05:37JackAlright, OK.00:05:38XochitlIf you're sad that literally means shelter or like refuge. So yeah, that's kind of the interesting aspect of.00:05:46XochitlHow about you, Jeff? What's your favorite Christmas tradition?00:05:49JackOK, well, mine are much more vanilla than yours. I mean, yours are very rich and interesting and I'm I'm thinking mine are like.00:05:59JackNot very interesting.00:06:00JackNow, but there are, there's a couple that I I really enjoyed. The first one is obviously.00:06:07JackDecorating the tree.00:06:08JackLike I love it. I love to decorate the tree. So you know, you gotta, you gotta get some Christmas music on.00:06:10발표자Ohh yeah.00:06:16JackYou know.00:06:19JackYou know, as the as the the stereo plays, you know, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, you know, like these, these old kind of Bing Crosby Christmas songs, you know, from the the 1950s and the 1960s. Those are my favorites, you know.00:06:37JackAnd and you know, maybe like a a Swiss miss hot chocolate with some marshmallows in it and and then start decorating the tree, usually with my daughter, we decorate a.00:06:52JackTree we.00:06:53JackA little tree because we live in Korea. It's not such a common tradition here to to get a real tree.00:07:00JackAnd to set it up, actually I think it's pretty much illegal to do a real.00:07:05JackTree I think.00:07:06XochitlAlso, the houses are a.00:07:08XochitlLot smaller in Korea generally speaking, than America, right, right. Yeah.00:07:11JackYeah, there's not a lot of space to put.00:07:14JackA real tree? Yeah. I mean, it's just not it. It it, wouldn't it?00:07:18JackDoesn't make any sense.00:07:19JackTo Korean people, so we use a a fake tree here and but we we put the lights up and we we have the decorations and a lot of them are.00:07:30JackNone of the decorations are are ornaments that my daughter made in elementary school.00:07:35JackAnd we just you. So the guy has a, you know, so they'll be like a baby picture of her or something and it's just really sweet. And so that's that's our one tradition that that mainly my daughter and I do together and she's coming back this week to from America to visit and so she's.00:07:54JackOne of the things she mentioned was she wants to put the tree up, so that's really I haven't done it yet, so I'm I'm saving.00:08:01JackIt for her.00:08:04JackThe second Christmas tradition that we we started a long time ago. I don't do it anymore, but we did it when I was was younger, was we made gingerbread houses.00:08:16XochitlOhh, that's so fun.00:08:18JackYeah. Have you ever done that before? Have you made it?00:08:20XochitlNo, I haven't. And I would love to, but I haven't done that before.00:08:26JackYeah. Yeah. So my we, my mom would bake the, you know, the walls and everything. Homemade, like, from scratch. It wasn't like a, you know, where you can buy like a kit. Now you just everything's already already made.00:08:42JackBasically you just make you just have like the.00:08:47JackI don't know.00:08:47JackWhat you call the cream, whatever that keeps it together, the icing. Thank you. That holds it together. But my mom made the icing from scratch that she baked the the the gingerbread house. And so we would, you know.00:08:51XochitlYou like the icing?00:09:03JackWe would have.00:09:03JackLike bowls of M&M's.00:09:05JackAnd gum.00:09:07JackAnd all these different candies and you know, you'd be everyone. All the kids would be licking the the icing, you know, while they're making the house and.00:09:16JackThe roof would be falling off of one house because it's too heavy, you know, structural collapses occurring regularly, but at the end of the end of it, you, most of us would have like a nice little gingerbread house. And then, you know, I mean, obviously the best.00:09:35JackPart of it is.00:09:36JackEating it so slowly it would get picked away where all the M&M's are gone 1st and then someone would go after the gum drops and then all that's left. Is this like rock icing?00:09:50JackAnd stale cookie. You know that it's it's inedible, but it was always really fun to to build gingerbread houses and it's it's they look really cool when they're when they're done really well they look really cool. I think it's fun.00:10:12JackSo those are my two, yeah.00:10:12발표자Yeah, I've.00:10:14XochitlBeen on the.00:10:14XochitlInternet this year, people doing like charcuterie board gingerbread houses, so they're like savory instead of sweet.00:10:20JackOhh nice OK.00:10:22XochitlReally neat looking. I'm like I definitely would eat that also, not just make it eat it quickly because I it has like the cheese and the crackers and the cured meats and stuff.00:10:35JackOh, that's really cool. Yeah, because, I mean, like, a real gingerbread house with all the candy.00:10:40JackAnd stuff. It's kind of.00:10:41JackIt's probably like 10 to 15,000.00:10:44JackCalories on that thing, you.00:10:46XochitlKnow and it's.00:10:47XochitlLike sweet, it gets one-dimensional after a while like the flavor, and you get kind of sick of it. I.00:10:51XochitlThink, at least for me.00:10:53JackAlthough if you put, uh, if you put uhm.00:10:57발표자What do they?00:10:57JackCall Mint chocolate M&M's on it.00:11:01JackThose things are like.00:11:03JackI'll I'll eat those all day long. Forever. They're amazing. I I have to stay away from those I they.00:11:05발표자Thank you.00:11:09JackDon't have them.00:11:10JackIn Korea, and I'm so glad they don't have them here. Like it's it's so dangerous.00:11:17XochitlThose are actually really beautiful.00:11:18XochitlTraditions, doc. I'm glad you shared those.00:11:21XochitlUh, yeah.
