"Jesus, having gone a little further, fell on his face and prayed, 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will. " Matthew 26:39 In the quiet solitude of the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus faced the weight of the world's sins, His heart heavy with anguish. Matthew 26:39 recounts how He prayed earnestly, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.” This moment reveals the profound importance of prayer during times of distress. When life feels overwhelming, turning to prayer is a source of strength and peace. In distress, seek His Rest, because you are not alone in your struggles. Just as Jesus sought the Father in His darkest hour, we too can find refuge in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to “not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” In doing so, we open our hearts to receive His peace that surpasses all understanding. Psalm 145:18 says, "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." Prayer acts as a lifeline when the storms of life rage around us. It allows us to lay our burdens at the feet of our Savior, trusting that He will carry them for us. In moments of uncertainty, Psalm 34:17 reassures us that “the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.” In other words, when the righteous whisper in the storm, Heaven's ears are wide open; the Lord's hand reaches through the chaos to bring them peace. As we lean into prayer, remember our cries do not go unheard. Nevertheless, we must cultivate a deeper relationship with God to find comfort in His presence. The act of praying not only brings clarity but also strengthens our faith because our commitment to prayer will become a testament to our trust in God's plan, even when the path seems unclear. Romans 12:12 says, “be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Amen. Prayer for the Day!Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts burdened by our worries and fears. We ask for Your peace to envelop us as we seek You in prayer. Help us to remember the strength found in Gethsemane and to approach each moment of distress with faith. May our prayers serve as a refuge and a reminder of Your love. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Are you bone tired and soul tired at the same time? Although exhaustion in motherhood is common, we can feel joyful and weary, excited and exhausted, grateful and tired. When we choose to walk everyday with Christ we will find His Rest. Christ will walk by our side, just like a friend, if we let Him. He will show us what He loves about our day and about us. He will help us see the "manna" in our life. Turning our focus to Him will shift our weariness to energy and confidence. Ashlee Miller shares insights from her life and her beautiful book, "His Rest", in this inspiring episode of Thriving With 8. It's time to reset and refocus on Christ in your motherhood journey.

In this sermon Dr. Richie taught from Hebrews 4:11-13 with a title of “The Hard Work of His Rest.”
Which is the most demanding faith and fulfilling life in which we have been called to live. It really is rest when we cease from our labors and enter God's Rest. Chapter 4 reverts to the theme of Chapter 3, the Promise of entering a Coming Rest. Paul writes, v1, ‘Let us fear therefore lest, a promise being left us of entering into His Rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.' In v4, you see that Paul is linking this Rest to the Seventh Day of Creation. For six days God created – and on the seventh day, He rested from His Work. This is a picture of the 1000-year Rest, the Millennial reign of Christ on earth which still to come! Paul warns us, we should be afraid, lest we fail to enter into this promise! For, v2, ‘unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them' – Paul means, the Jewish forefathers heard the promise, but failed to enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief. Paul says, ‘The Word which was preached to them did not profit them, because it was not received with faith by those that heard it. But we, who have believed, can enter this Rest.' But it's a question, v3&5, ‘IF they shall enter into My Rest…' It's conditional. To enter, you must have faith that God's Works were made complete from the very foundation of the world, v4. God is working to a Plan.
In the believer's hearts the NEW must be established. It is tragic that many today live after the Old Covenant and the Old House. Many believe, as I once did myself, when we come into a building we call the Church are coming in the House of God. We come in hoping that the power of God's presence and glory cloud may come down in our midst to see Him work among us. Yes my heart yearns that God works in our midst, but we must understand that in the New we are part of the building. Peter calls us Living Stones, built up a Spiritual House. We are built up in the knowledge of Christ for the habitation of God by His Spirit. We are the House of His Rest and Glory, and when we come together there should be the expression of His Awesome Presence. Glory to God!
Thanking God for His mercy and trying to learn how to enter into His Rest
In recent weeks we have been understanding some of the promises of God, as well as His nature and character, in order that we may realize how we can easily trust Him because He is faithful and has kind intentions in His heart. We have been talking about God's grace, our undeserved favor from God, and his mercy, His punishment withheld from us. Today having this trust and faith in God that He is good, that He does not want to harm us but only love us and grow us, we look at the blessing and promise of His Rest. This program covers the following Scriptures from the Amplified Classic version (AMPC): Ephesians 1:17-19; Psalm 95:8-11; Hebrews 4:10-12; Hebrews 4:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:8; Colossians 2:12; Acts 10:38; Isaiah 26:3; Psalm 91:1-16; Matthew 11:28-30.Support the show

Join us for our Bible Study—'Christ In You Brings Rest'! We will be looking at the themes in chapters 21 and 22 of New Creation Realities. We are called to live from the life of Jesus Christ who indwells us and fully enter into His Rest. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

#093// Some things you've been wanting from God, you can only get in His Rest. Sometimes the thing we need really relies on our position, and the rest of God is a prime position to be in. It's in His rest that we can receive without striving, we can overcome without having to think up the perfect battle plan for ourselves, and we can trust even when we don't have all the data in hand and processed. But we cannot have that quality of experience if we do not enter into and remain -- abide! -- in God's rest. Your position matters.Do you know what the ultimate picture of God's rest is in the Bible? It's that Garden right in the beginning of the story! We start to see that God is leading us back to that Garden at every turn. The Garden is the Kingdom and the Kingdom is the Garden! And once we see the qualities of His rest that are found in His Garden/Kingdom, we can start to see them all throughout the stories of the Bible. And once we see them all throughout the stories of the Bible, guess what . . .We can engage the Kingdom in ANY situation and learn to ABIDE in His rest!In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing the last message in a series I've been preaching at my home church of REVIVE Church of Tampa on real rest. Have a listen as I share how you can learn to remain in real rest by seeing the real rest that was offered in so many different situations throughout the Bible. By Mary Lindow Last year on December 21st 2020 (which was the 1st Day of Winter) Steve and I drove to pick up salads for our dinner. It had been a challenging month having just had his Mother pass into heaven while in WuhanCovid-19 lockdowns in a nursing facility. To be honest, we were a little weary and tender in heart, and still had preparations to do for our Family Christmas Day dinner and celebration with our Son Joel and his wife Angela and our 4 Grandchildren. Our youngest son Tim and his wife Liz were in Texas with her family. This had also been during the most severe time of lockdowns and restrictions in our State. Everything felt hard, and dark, and mean. As we were driving away after picking up salads, my sister texted and asked if we were going to look for the “Christmas Star”, Or, the two planet convergence taking place that evening at dusk. I had wanted to see this and had forgotten! So we aimed the car West and watched the sky! We live at an altitude of 5290 feet above sea level and have a glorious view of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. At this specific time of year the sun sits at a very low angle in the western sky and when it dips behind the mountains, there is an almost greenish-aqua reflective light, and at 5:15 MDST we saw the "Christmas Star" or two planets very closely spaced together (to human eyes) start to take shape in the Western sky. We quickly drove to a favorite hilltop location, not too far from our home where we often go to walk and enjoy a complete 360-degree view of our surrounding area and state. We thought that at night and away from city lights we'd have a great place to see this phenomenon and view it away from too many people. This event marked the first time since 1623 that the two planets Saturn and Jupiter have passed this close to one another and also marked the nearly 800 years since the planets aligned at night. As a result, some have referred to the planetary alignment as forming a "Christmas star," in reference to the Star of Bethlehem, since the event falls only a few days before Christmas. As we drove in thinking we'd take the dirt road up to the hill where there was a parking area, all around us there were HUNDREDS of people parked on the dirt driveway up the hill and on the side streets of the neighborhood surrounding it! HUNDREDS of people were standing on the hill, looking Westward and upward, looking for the "Christmas Star". The most unusual thing was taking place though. There was a hushed "awe" in this big crowd. People were either talking low or they were whispering, as if this was a sacred moment not to be disrespected by loud noises. No one was talking on his or her cell phones! WOW! You could feel the questions and the cries and thoughts of those standing there watching and looking up into the sky. You could sense the desperation of many wanting to know what to do in such and strange and dark time on planet earth and wondering why this event was taking place at this time! We drove around the entirety of the hill's lower neighborhood road, looking in amazement at all of the people, and a sudden wave of what I would call "travail" moved me to tears and prayer. Steve and I began to cry out the Father to touch the souls of those looking up into the sky, knowing that all of them are fully aware of the troubled days that they were living in. We prayed that they would risk and speak from their weary hearts to the God who hung those radiant planets that were glowing in the sky, just for them, just at this very moment in time. God SO Loves the World! He sent his Son... …So the world might know His full expression of deep commitment to the people He created with the tips of His fingers and the breath of His being. We saw more than just the "Star" that night! We saw people, engaging in wonder! Of course we know it wasn't "THE" Christmas Star shining so very brightly in the sky, on the longest and darkest day/night of the year! (The Winter Solstice), but doesn't the Lord create things that would show signs and wonders in the heavenlies? WHY DID GOD ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN THAT NIGHT, DURING THE CUSTOMARY SEASON ON EARTH WHERE PEOPLE CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF CHRIST, WHEN THE EARTH WAS IN SUCH TURMOIL? (And still is!) Because He knows that if He can use something to draw people to himself, He will do it! Psalm 57:10-11 says, “Your love is so extravagant it reaches to the heavens; your faithfulness so astonishing it stretches to the sky! Lord God, be exalted as you soar throughout the heavens. May your shining glory be shown in the skies! Let it be seen high above all the earth!” Of course it's was not the actual date of the birth of Jesus Christ in December, nor was this the actual star that was seen by the shepherds and Wise men. But God knows mankind knows the stories and that there was a Star to guide them, so, He wastes nothing in order to draw all men to himself. "This is what I will do in the last days— I will pour out MY Spirit on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men will see visions and your old men will experience dreams from God. The Holy Spirit will come upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy. I will reveal startling signs and wonders in the sky above, and mighty miracles on the earth below. - Acts 2:17 -19 These planets would be closest to each other in the sky on Dec. 21, appearing only a tenth of a degree apart but they would remain in close alignment for a few days and would be easily visible to the naked eye when looking toward the slight southwest west just after sunset on first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. NOW! THIS IS THE PART WHERE THE KINDNESS AND SUPERNATURAL TOUCH OF GOD, TOOK PLACE FOR STEVE AND I! We had had a very intense and sad family upset with some stressed out relatives the night before and had done a bit of damage control and counseling of everyone, but our hearts were hurting over words that had been spoken and the pain that they had caused for many. (Holidays can often bring out the dysfunctions and anger in some people who tend to not address personal issues.) We gently but firmly coached a few involved to see things more accurately and to go and correct there bad choice of words and apologize. They did, but the upset left everyone feeling grieved and raw. On Christmas Eve we like to take a tray of home baked treats to a few of our neighbors and wish them a Joyful Christmas. I had asked Steve to run a final tray across the street to some neighbors who hadn't been home earlier. As I was standing at the kitchen sink rinsing out a bowl that had held cookie dough, I was talking to the Lord and sharing my heart and sadness with Him about missing my precious Mother in Law, the strangeness of the dark world of a bio-terror weapon that was causing such fear and sickness, and the grief I felt after the tense family situation. I asked Him to pour over Steve and I, his holiness and peace and I asked him to receive an offering of praise out of this sorrow, thanking him for coming to earth as a Savior in such a dark and wicked world. I then had a thought that reminded me, that the “Christmas Star was still visible in the sky on that night and I realized the timing right then would be perfect to view from our front porch. We have this unusual glow in the West in the winter months when the sun is setting and I could see the hue as I walked toward our front door, which has glass in it. As I stepped out onto the porch I could see the two stars, which were a bit more separated at this point, but absolutely clear. What took place next was something I have no explanation as to where it came from, but the timing of it was so precise and overwhelming that I just stood there in awe, and wept. A CHORUS OF VOICES BEGAN SINGING SILENT NIGHT, Holy Night, Son of God, Loves Pure Light, Radiant beams from thy holy face, with the dawn of Redeeming Grace, Jesus Lord at thy birth, Jesus Lord at Thy Birth. There were no instruments accompanying the voices and it wasn't coming from a house or car nearby. It was out in the open air and reverberating over our street, softly and simply. Steve was coming back across the street about the time the voices began to sing and we stood there on our lawn looking at the stars growing brighter as the sky grew darker, and marveled at this singing. It was just one song. Then no more. (We wondered if there was an outdoor service somewhere and maybe the sound was travelling, but the words were very clear and understandable.) THE MOMENT WAS AS IF WE WERE SUSPENDED IN TIME, and the Presence of God softly fell on us and around us, and soothed our weary souls. We felt His Rest come upon us, and understood the awe that the shepherds must have experienced on that first real nativity night when, “Suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!” -Luke 2:13-14 ALL I CAN TAKE AWAY FROM THESE EVENTS IS THAT GOD ALMIGHTY SEES AND KNOWS EVERY MINUTE DETAIL OF OUR EVERY DAY. He sees our struggles and our sorrows and our love for Him as well! WE ARE IN A TIME LIKE NO OTHER TIME BEFORE ON EARTH, and yet the history of evil men and women attempting to stop the power of the Savior and the King of Heaven moving on earth among His people, has been a non-stop war since time began. We are to be expecting HIS evidence in the earth with great exploits and moves of His Dynamic Force. He is not unaware of our great need for His Help and Protection from filthy and evil men and women who are given over to demonic possession. We live in day and age where it will take Divine Intervention to shake the lukewarm believer out of passivity, and for the world to know that God is Sovereign. BE READY AND EXPECT SIGNS AND WONDERS. Test them. Be alert. Be Ready to tell of the Wonders of His Love. LET EVERY HEART PREPARE HIM ROOM! AND LET HEAVEN AND NATURE SING OF THE WONDERS OF HIS LOVE! What was Messiah speaking of when He encouraged us to enter into His Rest? Well, one scholarly pontification after another will tell you it is when we rest with Him either on the Day of Judgment or some even think when we die which would require immediate judgment. Both are illiterate as the Bible interprets the Bible. This is all well explained in Hebrews 4 and Yahusha is specifically speaking of the 7th Day Sabbath which equates to the one of Creation, the one of David and Moses, and that of Messiah who was preaching a Sabbath Rest on the Sabbath Day even. The rest is His rest, His place. We enter it and rest from our works. We need to use effort to stay in that place of rest and not to get to that place.
One of the ways we experience His REST and Refreshing is by praying in our prayer language (Isaiah 28:11-12). There are many benefits to speaking in tongues. This message is about tapping into God's wisdom through speaking in tongues and praying for the interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 14:13-15).

Jesus has called us to a carefree life of living in the REST of His Presence. It is a life free from toil, worry and fear. It is a life filled with peace and joy. It comes as a response to the invitation of Jesus, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST." This is the fourth part of the series of Entering into His REST.
We are exhorted to enter into His Rest. There is a rest for the people of God... (Hebrews 4). This series explores both a natural and a spiritual application to entering into His Rest.

IT IS A CRAZY WORLD WE LIVE IN AND ITS NOT GOING TO GET EASIER AS CORRUPTION AND WICKEDNESS CONTINUE TO PLAY TOGETHER! WHAT CAN WE DO? By Mary Lindow “Let the wise listen and add to their learning, And let the discerning get guidance.” Proverbs 1:5 DISTURBING DAYS It doesn't take a genius mind to know that we are in some terrible times here in the earth! Wars wars and more threats of wars! Economic pressures, ungodly rulers, missiles aimed and ready to blow up other countries, child abductions and murders are on the rise and we have had odd and bizarre weather patterns! And these events all can occur in just one week’s worth of change! I hear the Holy Spirit bringing a clear word of comfort and help to His people who have ears to hear what He is saying to them. Those that are determined to follow the voice of the Good Shepherd and not strange voices. John 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, But will flee from him: For they know not the voice of strangers. HEARTS OF BROKENNESS The days have seemingly turned darker, uncertain, and frenzied as media reporters shell out the hyped newscasts of doom and despair. And although much of what is being reported may be actually happening, it is intentionally ratcheted up to keep viewing polls well oiled and operating. All of the noise pollution and the droning voices of the media personalities can weary and weigh down the heart of those who have a compassionate and sensitive spirit or heart. And. Often through all of the pressure filled “minute by minute live” reporting, people can become restless and fearful, anxiety ridden, and heavy laden with so much hitting them. Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad. IT IS A CRAZY WORLD WE LIVE IN AND IT’S NOT GOING TO GET EASIER AS CORRUPTION AND WICKEDNESS CONTINUE TO PLAY TOGETHER! WHAT CAN WE DO? Although we are not to be totally ignorant of what is occurring around us and live in recluse mentalities, the Lord does have a greater plan and focus for us during such tough times. You and I as children of God will never really feel at home here on planet Earth. We have been Divinely implanted with a spiritual device deep in our spirits that longs for the “Home of Heaven”. No more tears, no more night, no more longing to fully be-long! We have been walking a pathway of preparation, each of us in different stages of our lives, to transition from this decaying world and body into a heavenly place of resurrection and eternal abundant life. It’s the living here now that is so like rough grit sandpaper to our nerve endings! 2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack And will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Psalm 61:3 For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, A strong tower against the adversary. We are in much need of a directional adjustment as believers right now, a redirecting of the compass, as the world turns itself upside down with malice, dictatorships, and political posturing. We need to be certain that nothing of the world and its behaviors is hidden in our own hearts. We must hear that Magnetic pulling voice of the Holy Spirit, and obey it without turning left or right. Deuteronomy 5:32 So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; Do not turn aside to the right or to the left. The Spirit of the Lord is calling out to His people in this very very serious and crucial moment to allow Him your ears that hear and your eyes that see to discern where the compass for your soul is located! It points to a dwelling place of Divine Rest and Protection. There is a hidden deep place of safety only revealed to those of pure motive and clean hands. THE LORD IS CALLING OUT TO YOU AND I. “Come to Me! Run to Me! I know that you are heavily burdened by all of the concentrated pressures mounting around you. Run to the Dwelling place of Divine Rest and Protection! It will require you laying down the things that so easily set you off and get you weighed down with concern and anxiety.” 1 Peter 5:7 Casting the whole of your cares All your anxieties, All your worries, All your concerns, Once and for all on Him. For He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Come to the simple place. Huddle into the shadow of My Wings for, I AM the Refuge for the child that heeds My voice and runs to Me, abandoning self made plans for protection and self-preservation. I AM your shield, I AM your Fortress. But you must come to the Refuge with no agenda in your heart or a Message on your lips. You come to the Resting Place of Safety from the Storm to WAIT, Ponder, Rest and rethink your Life call. Psalm 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; Let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, That those who love your name may rejoice in you. CONTINUAL SAFETY When we walk in the way of surrender and tenderness with our ears attuned to the still small voice of God, we actually walk in the Overshadowing safety of the Presence of God. Training our spiritual ears to hear the voice of the Father is a lifetime guarantee of knowing when the storms or troubles will arise and is a promise for direction to a place of Divine Protection and direction whenever needed. Psalm 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad And my tongue rejoices; My body also will rest secure Rest Child of God. REST! It is the hardest thing for the mind and body to do! Learning to rest when the world is screaming at a fevered pitch, “WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW” is a hard-learned yet reachable discipline if we will lean into it and ask for God's help. Hear the Voice of God calling you to enter into His rest. It is a place of pleasant simplicity and uncluttered doctrine. His Presence silences all of the noise of the day and noise of the Head. HIS PRESENCE IS A REFUGE FOR THE WEARY Dear child of God! There is no judgment or shame there. It is a restful place of learning to take up an easy yoke and a light burden. Perhaps right now as you listen to this audio podcast or read this, You might just sit back and Enter in to the Refuge of God. Lay down the weight of worry and frustration. The anger at life all bottled up in rage and gloom! All you need to take with you into the shelter is a willing heart. Ready to trust the Divine Protector and Provider. Enter In… …to His Rest. Psalm 33:22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you. God's rest is a state of being, or environment, where God rules and manages His creation, free from the chaos and disorder brought about by the world's ways. God has made provision for us to benefit from His Rest. Feeling simply tired of the things in today's world? Here's a way to enter into God's Rest.

What is Sabbath Day in the Bible? Is Sabbath Keeping a Christian law?Let's make this simple, very simple: God finished HIS WORK in 6 days. On the 7th Day (Sabbath) He entered His Rest. But before entering His Rest the Bible says:Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.God did not enter His rest before making everything very good. That means when He entered His Rest it was all good, no need for another extra hour, no need for another work, and no need for waiting for a time. His Work was finished.Hebrews 4 says, although the Work was Finished from the foundation of the world, man did not enter His rest, but continued in his own work, trying to establish his own rest.Even to this day there are debates among Christians about what day of the week is the real sabbath, is it Saturday, or Sunday...many have questions like "should Christians keep the sabbath?". Well, without relating the Work of Creation and the Rest that followed to the Work of Redemption and the Rest that follows, these debates will continue. But the truth about Sabbath Day is this:The Work Jesus did, known as the Finished Work of the Cross is that which now has left us a Rest to enter. But what is this rest and how we can enter it. Watch the video to the end and you won't leave without the answer!----more----Useful Resources:
God's intention is that HE leads and we trust & follow HIM. If we follow this order we will come to a place called the REST of God that is what Psalm 23 is all about. When we begin to operate in our own leadings, we will always labour in confusion & frustration. Listen and enter into HIS REST! Hebrew 4:11 KJV: Let us labour, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief. #WegiveLIFE --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/eccn-podcasts/message
I believe the Lord is drawing us into His Rest so we can learn to cease from our works. The works of the flesh will begin to cease in those who have learned to enter into the rest of God by allowing Him to fully work in and through us.
I have learned from experience that living life one day at a time is something that can be done. take the pressure off, believe God and enter His Rest. Be a now person. 22nd May 2016. Moses - Bringing the People of God into His Rest.
“Following Jesus” is only mentioned in the Gospels by Jesus…and is not carried forward into the letters written by the Apostles to the churches. Why? What if the writer (entire argument) of Hebrews has it right…the Good News is about entering His REST—not about a new system of obligation, personal effort, and attempts to gain God’s favor!

God Spoke: The Place He is Taking Us is . . . His Rest (expanded) Hebrews 3:6-4:16
How do we go from Labor to Rest? This is a question the Lord truly wants us to know the answer to. More darkness, evil is going to be seen in the world, so we have got to know what it means to rest. Hebrews 4:8-11 - .....9 So there is a special rest[a] still waiting for the people of God.10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, 1 ............... But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Another question, are you toiling or resting? You can choose to worry or you can choose to trust. Join us as we share what it means to truly enter into His Rest. Let go and let God!!
