Welcome to the first episode of Masters of MAX, where you'll hear from Hasan Luongo, VP of Global Marketing at Chipper Cash. Chipper Cash is a financial technology company serving more than five million customers across the African continent. Their app-only experience enables customers in five African countries, the U.S. and the U.K. to pay bills, make cross-border money transfers, and purchase cryptocurrencies.Hasan is an entrepreneur 1st and foremost, then a Growth and Product leader, and last but never least, a User. And in his conversation with Tom Butta, you'll hear how much weight he places on the user experience, and why Chipper has always been mobile only to support that notion. Trust is everything when it comes to the finance space. And without conventional banking locations that customers are used to, it's a tougher hurdle to climb over. Listen to find out how Hasan relies on transparency and marketing to support Chipper's efforts in earning their users' trust.PS, don't listen to this episode until after you've had your morning coffee, as we cover some of Hasan's favorite blends and regions on the show as well. —Guest BioHasan is an entrepreneur, marketing, and product leader with extensive experience building and scaling high-growth technology companies, marketing, and growth teams. He's a data-informed creative thinker. Hasan cut his teeth in digital marketing as co-founder/CEO of HoodiePeople, an e-commerce retail startup way back in 2006 Currently, Hasan leads Growth & Marketing as VP Global Marketing at Chipper Cash, a pan-African Fintech. Hasan joined Chipper at the pre-seed stage and the company is now at Series C, and valued at $1.25b, with more than 5 million users globally today. Beyond work, Hasan loves coffee, admittedly more than working. In today's episode, CEO Justin Lorencz and Founder Daniel Story discuss what's new with HomeJoy, helping out new owners, and the process of joining HomeJoy.Now that it's the midst of summer and things have been opening up around the country, it's time to enjoy some outside activities once again. Both Justin and Daniel catch us up on their outdoors exploits and new hobbies before getting into what's new with HomeJoy.The first of the summer's family meetings with new franchise owners have been starting up. Both Justin and Daniel have begun meeting with owners to have help prepare them for what's next on their journey. Within their first few meetings Justin realized that, while it is still important, the business aspect seems to be secondary for those he has met with. It's about caring for your people and loving what you do. It's also a great way to help lay the groundwork for growth and start planning next steps. Do you need to bring in more people? Do you need to start scouting locations? Take the time to do what you need to do as a leader to grow.Next up, Daniel interviews Justin about what the process is to start up with HomeJoy. It's called The Discovery Process and contains 8 steps. It isn't something you want to rush; it's a big decision and you need to make sure it's right for you. It's usually a 60-to-90-day process with a franchise fee of $40,000. It involves getting to know each other, understanding each other's goals, and learning through a combination of virtual and in person meetings.Justin and Daniel end the show by discussing how important it is to be open about what you are looking for and how HomeJoy can work for you.Website: HomeJoyEmail: info@homejoy.care
In this episode, Dan and Justin talk about HomeJoys value proposition. What makes HomeJoy a good investment? Here it from the owners and why it's a perfect time to invest in the home care industry with a HomeJoy franchise.
In this episode, Dan and Justin introduce our newest franchisee, Sara! Sara takes time to answer questions about her interest in HomeJoy and how it progressed into ownership. Along the way, we learn a couple of fun things about Sara and how she plans to grow from this opportunity.
In this podcast, Dan and Justin spend time talking with Stacey Zsigo. Stacey owns the HomeJoy of Mid-Michigan franchise location. From her humble beginnings to her transition into franchise ownership Stacey gives great insight and wisdom for any entrepreneur.
In today’s episode CEO, Justin Lorencz and Founder, Daniel Story discuss what they have been up to during the Covid-19 pandemic. They also discuss how HomeJoy has been affected and the future of home care as a whole.Daniel talks about how difficult it is to network in the current climate and how he is gaining a new perspective on how to grow the business. Justin lets us know that he and his wife will be opening their own HomeJoy franchise soon. Both Justin and Daniel agree now is a great time to reflect and change your business practices if needed. Justin then gets into the various videos HomeJoy has been producing; he interviews different office staff in Joyful Thoughts on the HomeJoy Facebook page.We get updated on changes to HomeJoy due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Daniel has 3 offices and is now doing a lot of coaching and client care via telephone instead of in-person. He is learning to connect differently with clients but remains focused on matching them with compatible care aides.Justin and Daniel discuss three main ways homecare will change due to Covid-19. There is more awareness of what is available, people are looking for a more affordable alternative to home care and there is likely to be a decreased turnover for staff. The final topic Justin and Daniel discuss is remote work and how it is still important to have a physical location that is local for employees and clients. Both agree that there is a lot to be learned from the pandemic and they share excitement for the future.Website: HomeJoyEmail: info@homejoy.care
In today’s episode, CEO Justin Lorencz and Founder Daniel Story will be discussing what’s been going on with COVID-19.Justin asks how HomeJoy is trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while remaining active. Answering this, Dan explains the benefits of shifting to remote work combined with strict precautionary measures when in-person work is needed. According to the state of Michigan’s latest letter, since HomeJoy works with seniors in places such as nursing homes and assisted living, their workers are considered direct care workers. However, our hosts tell us about a more accurate category. According to Justin and Daniel, HomeJoy has modified their methodology in order to stay safe and have been receiving many inquiries about their opening hours and activity during this period. They stress the necessity of protecting people and their commitment to follow all the strict required measures.Justin and Daniel speak about how honorable it is to help the elderly and share with us some of their favorite experiences. During team day, everyone seemed to be outgoing and cooperative; our hosts believe that this is reflective of the team spirit they have.As everybody has been suffering during this viral outbreak and people were significantly affected, Justin and Daniel suggest that people should attempt to achieve independence rather than staying bound to their bosses or employers. They advise people to contact them so that they can learn more about the opportunities with HomeJoy and how they would help the new recruits become more successful.
Dan and Justin spend time talking about the idea of caring is more than kindness, it means having the right skills and being prepared. Dan discovered this concept in his earlier days as a registered nurse and has developed it into a decision-making model that has helped guide HomeJoys growth and success.
In honor of the Christmas season, Dan and Justin spend time answering fun questions about family and Christmas traditions. Dan also gives some insights about what it's like around the HomeJoy offices during Christmas.
Dan and Justin spend time talking about Justin's new blog, Build A Life You Never Need A Vacation From. Justin explains what this blog means to him and how he sees it in two different parts; building and peace. Dan and Justin also talk about things currently going on with HomeJoy and the different areas HomeJoy is looking to expand in. The on-demand economy is a hit with consumers. Uber, Lyft, Homejoy, and other companies provide a growing number of convenient services. But there's a heated debate about how they treat their workers. Should they be classified as independent contractors or full-time employees who qualify health care, disability and other benefits? Richard and Jim's guest is Marcela Sapone, CEO of Hello Alfred, a startup company that dispatches workers to co-ordinate laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping and other chores. She has useful tips for freelancers and outspoken views about how employees should be treated by companies, communities and the government. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
