Hey Buzzkills! This week's episode is PACKED with all the action and info you need! We're celebrating Abortion Provider Appreciation Week, and AAF is out on the road doing the important work of showing our support for the heroes who keep abortion care alive. Dr. Ashley Jeanius, OB-GYN and abortion provider, joins us to talk about how she feels celebrated during this special week and how YOU can show love and support for the providers in your life. But that's not all! We dive into the latest battlefronts, starting with the Wisconsin State Supreme Court race—where billionaires are throwing money to protect the anti-abortion agenda. We break down the stakes and why it matters. Then, we move to Kansas, where a potential ballot initiative could radically change the state's Supreme Court appointments, opening the floodgates for dark money to flood the system. We can't let that happen! PLUS, we dodge a bullet when David Weldon's CDC Director nomination gets pulled—because we weren't about to let that disaster unfold. It's packed with rage, real talk, and the kind of info you can't afford to miss. Scared? Got Questions about the continued assault on your reproductive rights? THE FBK LINES ARE OPEN! Just call or text (201) 574-7402, leave your questions or concerns, and Lizz and Moji will pick a few to address on the pod! Times are heavy, but knowledge is power, y'all. We gotchu. Dive into Episode #132 of the Psych Health and Safety USA Podcast, featuring host Dr. I. David Daniels, PhD, CSD, VPS, and special guest Mat Jeanius, a Marriage and Family Therapist who is both black and male. This episode begins our celebration of Black History Month. Due to their personal and cultural experiences, black therapists bring a unique perspective to their practice. They can offer a deeper understanding of the challenges and systemic issues that clients of similar backgrounds face, such as racial discrimination, cultural identity, and social inequities. This cultural competence can help build stronger rapport and trust with clients who feel understood and validated in their experiences. Moreover, Black male therapists often serve as powerful role models, challenging stereotypes and promoting positive mental health within their communities. Their presence in the therapeutic field can help address the underrepresentation of Black professionals and encourage more open conversations about mental health, especially among Black men and boys. Mat will talk about his experience as a therapist as well as some of what his cultural heritage and service bring to his view regarding mental health.
For this episode we were joined by Dagye, the founder of luxury fashion brands A Day Without Angst (ADWOA) and Jeanius Bar Atelier. I have followed Dagye's journey in fashion for nearly 10 years now, so to finally be able to sit down with him was an honour and a full circle moment. I first came across Dagye through seeing his bespoke denim pieces on my favourite artists Young Thug and Future in the mid-2010's. I remember the feeling of shock when discovering that the designer of these jeans was a German-born Ghanaian guy from Milton Keynes who hadn't studied fashion. How did he beat the odds to end up in these spaces and be dressing some of the biggest artists on the planet!?! Since then Dagye has gone on to raise the bar and defy expectation year on year. His high fashion brand ADWOA has garnered attention and affinity from key people within culture and his other brand Jeanius Bar Atelier is slowly becoming the front runner in luxury streetwear! How has Dagye achieved all of this at such a young age? What does it take to build two thriving businesses simultaneously? Who has Dagye had to become to reach this point and how? This last question became the most pertinent theme of our conversation. Dagye eloquently broke down the experiences he's gone through in life, the fashion industry and ultimately the actions he had to take to grow as a result of these. This made for an incredible conversation that I believe any budding fashion professional needs to hear. This game isn't easy and to reach the pinnacle takes a lot of sacrifice, Dagye's story epitomises this. Alongside this, Dagye shared his thoughts on the streetwear scene, the importance of personal branding, sustainability, what makes designers great and much, much more! Since recording Dagye has continued to thrive! Jeanius just dropped their Cream Ottoman collection and the whole thing is fire! From the creative to the fits, Dagye doesn't miss! Follow Dagye and his brands on social to stay locked in to his ever-growing universe building journey. https://www.instagram.com/dagye_/ https://www.instagram.com/jeaniusbaratelier/https://www.instagram.com/adaywithoutangst/https://www.tiktok.com/@dagye.digital
“Work hard and deep focus are the most important things we can do” “You shouldn't try to be someone else - you have to be you” “I'm a stubborn mule” "The quest isn't becoming less, the quest is how to become more. How do we dial up the crazy shit more?” “Sometimes you're in a part of your life where you're at a crossroads and you have to turn left or right. You just don't know which one.” Welcome to the 100th episode of The Common Creative podcast! To celebrate, we're delighted to welcome David Hieatt - a “Creative Jeanius” on a mission to use his entrepreneurial skills to make a positive impact. After leaving ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi, he built Howies into one of the most influential active sports brands in recent years. After selling it to Timberland, he co-founded The Do Lectures, voted one of the top ten ideas festivals in the world by The Guardian. More recently, he started Hiut Denim in his home town of Cardigan in west Wales. A town that used to have Britain's biggest jeans factory. Its purpose is to get 400 people their jobs back. David has a cult internet following, and has spoken at Apple, Google, Red Bull and many other top companies and conferences. David has written two Do Books, Do Purpose: Why brands with a purpose do better and matter more (2014) and Do Open: How a simple email newsletter can transform your business (and it can) (2017). David first self-published The Path of a Doer in 2010. Ten years on and still as relevant as ever, the book has been reissued by The Do Book Co. Tune in now for insights, inspiration, and a deep dive into the world of entrepreneurship, sustainability, and doing something positive in the world. Today we're learning from Harald Cavalli-Bjorkman from Renewcell, an award-winning textile-to-textile recycling company based in Sweden. Circulose® is a branded dissolving pulp product that Renewcell makes from 100% textile waste, such as worn-out jeans and production scraps. For fashion brands big and small, it's become a coveted alternative to virgin materials like cotton, which require unsustainable amounts of land and water to cultivate. He talks to us about the future of fashion, the nitty gritty of material recycling and why it feels good to come in to work.

Jean Peter Exantus aka Jeanius was born in Brooklyn New York. At a very young age his mother made sure he was always working on his performance skills. Enrolling him in dance school, gymnastics, and piano lessons, Jean was able to perform in front of large crowds at early age. After discovering his passion for rap music at the age of 13 Jean fell in love with artists like, Redman, Wu Tang, Big Pun, Biggie Small, and Nas. At 19 he was given opportunity to DJ in Osaka Japan where he saw that the love of Hip-Hop was even stronger there and fell in love with the culture. Knowing that Hip-Hop started in New York Jean went back to the US to follow his true passion and enrolled in Five Towns College where he studied business and production, graduating with a 3.9 GPA. After college Jean started to work on getting his name out there. Currently working on his EP "Never Fold" Jeanius has been opening up for acts like Cardi B, Fat Joe, Little Durk, and Fred The Godson, Cassidy, Jaque, and PnB just to name a few. With his EP the goal is to bring people together through his music and a fresh sound that all ages can relate to. The EP is set to drop sometime this year. Jeanius promises that you will fall in love with his message!! You can expect Barz , R&B, Soul, and a Top 40 sound making him stand out from the rest. You can watch his video produced by Super producer Maxpayneshawty "Heartstrings"and directed by Mikelo on Youtube. On this week’s episode of the Rap Thought Podcast, we touch on Jean Grae’s “This Week”. She is not another mainstream female artist only talking about WAP and selling sex. Aside from some filler here and there, we left considering her an underrated artist that isn’t talked about enough. High energy, bars and flow that could keep up with most of the people out there, is that not enough to contend with the other high profile artists? What is this X-Men inspired artist about? If you haven’t heard of her, do as you may and check her before pressing play, or gather some (rap) thoughts from us and do it after. Check all that and more “this week”.Check out more here!Apple PodcastSpotifyInstagramTwitter______________________________________________________Music by: BlueysportInstagram: blueysport
Kym Gold’s mantra, “never settle for a no; always look for a yes,” is what led her to co-create True Religion Brand Jeans, a major retail clothing company that sold for close to a billion dollars in 2013. On Valentine’s Day in 2007, she was served divorce papers by her then husband and had her company ripped from under her—all within an hour. Since then, she has reestablished her place in the industry and catapulted herself into the coveted 1 percent of the richest Americans and pivoted into her new business in the home space; Style Union Home. She achieved all this whilst raising three sons, writing a book and producing films. And as if that wasn’t enough reason to be in awe, her first husband of five years was Mark Burnett, the creator of Survivor and reality television as we know it. Kym is the epitome of a girl boss and definitely our new BFF!

Ep. 12 - Jean Grae "I Need to Create the Things That are Still Unseen" It's JEAN GRAE, folks. Hip Hop artist, writer, actor, singer, thinker... puppeteer? Jean was born in South Africa, raised in New York City, and makes so so many many good good things. IN THE INTRODUCTION, Aimee and I tackle some technical issues and try to figure out what a polymath is and why it might be more fun to say my whole name? IN THE INTERVIEW we start out with naps and animals, but eventually get to talking with Jean about her early life dancing, influences, from her parents (musicians both, links below) to Jim Henson, sci-fi murders, collaborating as a lone wolf, and why representation matters. Along the way, of course, discuss past and current projects, INCLUDING the one-woman show, "Jeanius," that Jean's putting on at Joe's Pub in NYC this July THAT YOU SHOULD GO TO, AND a scripted series she's writing, directing, composing the music for, hosting, and starring in, called "That's Not How You Do That," based on the series of instructional albums for adults, of the same name, she put out a couple of years ago. I am told there are indeed puppets.
