For the last several weeks, we have considered the sweet command of Hebrews 12:2: looking, fixing, focusing our eyes upon the author of finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ. Dr. John Snyder and Teddy James have previously discussed the foundational principles necessary for obeying this command. Today, they will address whom we are blessed to look towards. Have you considered what a blessing it is to behold Christ? He is the image of the invisible God. Those throughout the Old Testament who wanted to behold God could not do so and live. But in Jesus Christ, we have the full deity of God and all of his attributes coming to meet us in friendship and mercy. So how do we gaze upon Christ? There are many passages we could look to, and we have them listed below for you to look up and examine for yourself. In these passages, we see him in eternity past, in his incarnation, learning and growing, teaching, persecution, the cross, the resurrection, and now in his enthronement in heaven! These gazes should fill our souls with hope and love for God. Charles Spurgeon said it well, “And we invite you to look to this scene that you may be lightened. What are your doubts this morning? Whatever they be, they can find a kind and fond solution here, by looking at Christ on the cross. You have come here, perhaps, doubting God's mercy; look to Christ upon the cross, and can you doubt it then? If God were not full of mercy, and plenteous in his compassion, would he have given his Son to bleed and die? Think you, that a Father would rend his darling from his heart and nail him to a tree, that he might suffer an ignominious death for our sakes, and yet be hard, merciless, and without pity? God forbid the impious thought! There must be mercy in the heart of God, or else there had never been a cross on Calvary. But do you doubt God's power to save! Are you saying in yourself this morning, ‘How can he forgive so great a sinner as I am?' Oh! look there, sinner, look there, to the great atonement made, to the utmost ransom paid. Dost thou think that that blood has not an efficacy to pardon and to justify?” If your gaze has been fuzzy and unfocused. If you have found yourself looking more at life, stress, or even the good gifts of God more than at God, consider the words Theodore Monod wrote in his small pamphlet: Looking unto Jesus—NOW, if we have never looked unto Him! Looking unto Jesus—AFRESH, if we have ceased doing so! Looking unto Jesus—ONLY! Looking unto Jesus—STILL! Looking unto Jesus—ALWAYS! With a gaze more and more constant, more and more confident, "changed into the same image from glory to glory" (2 Corinthians 3:18), and thus awaiting the hour when he will call us to pass from earth to Heaven, and from time to eternity—the promised hour, the blessed hour, when at last "we shall be like Him, for we shall Him as He really is!" (1 John 3:2). Throughout this series we have been conducting a giveaway. If already receive emails from Media Gratiae then you are already entered to win. In a world where we are all so busy and overwhelmed, three conversations this week brought up Jesus' amazing time management skills. How was he able to save the world in three years but still have time for everybody? I think this episode will help to shed some light on his amazing principles.

If you are worried about what people think about you, if you are feeling stale in your faith or if you don't believe God still does miracles, listen to this incredible episode with my guest Bryce Crawford. Bryce had a transformative encounter at a Waffle House where Jesus met him in ways totally unexpected. This revelation of Jesus led Bryce to dive deeper into his faith and start sharing Jesus with people on the streets of L.A., all over social media where over a million people follow him and some of the darkest places in the world! Here are three reasons why you should listen to this episode:Understand the importance of inviting Jesus into every aspect of your life, however mundane or insignificant it may seem.Discover the power of experiencing Jesus for oneself, rather than just knowing about Him theoretically or through other people's stories.Learn about the danger of relying on external sources for validation or satisfaction, rather than seeking fulfillment through a personal relationship with God.ResourcesMore from the Revelations Podcast: Website | Instagram | Apple PodcastConnect with Bryce Crawford: Instagram | Tiktok | SnapchatPulse MovementSystematic Theology by Wayne GrudemBible VersesPsalm 91-107James 5:17Psalm 139Luke 241 Corinthians 13:5This Episode is brought to you by Advanced Medicine AlternativesGet back to the active life you love through natural & regenerative musculoskeletal healing: https://www.georgekramermd.com/Episode Highlights[4:41] Why did Bryce choose to become a Christian?Bryce's decision to become a Christian was the result of a personal journey and realization that the things he was trying to fill the hole in his heart with could not provide him with the peace, joy, and fulfillment that he was seeking. He rejected other religions that require working for salvation because he saw that he couldn't even fill the hole in his heart without help.Bryce's family saw him as the Christian member of the family, but he didn't fully embrace Christianity until a later age when he had his own personal revelation and encounter with Jesus. This made him realize that only through a relationship with Jesus can he receive salvation, renewal, and a sense of purpose.[11:25] God's Revelation at Waffle HouseA man at Waffle House who Bryce shared a meal, confided in him about his divorce. The man loves his wife but feels like she doesn't love him backAs the man poured out his heart, Bryce felt a revelation from God that he had been treating Him similarly to the man's relationship with his wife. Bryce had been neglecting his relationship with God and failing to notice the little things He did in his life.Bryce was deeply moved by the man's words and realized that he too needed to invite God into every aspect of his life and totally surrender to him.Listened to the full episode to be inspired by Bryce's revelation.[12:34] "There's no growth in a relationship if the love isn't mutual." — Bryce Crawford[15:14] How God reveals himself to Gen Z PeopleYounger people are getting involved in negative things earlier, which may cause them to seek God sooner out of desperation.Bryce believes that sharing meaty biblical teachings with simplified explanations can help reach younger people on social media.Listen to the full episode to learn more about the stories of young people encountering Jesus and how their lives are changing.God can reveal Himself to the Gen Z population through personal experiences and encounters with God.[21:32] "I believe that every morning when I wake up, as my eyes are opening, Jesus is at the end of my bed. Uh oh, he's waking up. He's waking up. And then I get up, and he's like, yes, he's woken up. Bryce, you're awake? I can't wait to spend this day with you." — Bryce Crawford[25:15] How to break down scripture in a simplified wayStart with the context: Before diving into a specific passage or verse, it's important to provide some context about the book or chapter it's from. This can help the listener understand the overall message or theme.Use real-life examples: Try to illustrate the lesson or teaching with an example from everyday life. This can help make the message relatable and applicable.Keep it concise: Avoid getting too deep into theological discussions or complex language. Stick to the key points and keep it short and simple.Bring it back to Jesus: Always remember to tie the message back to Jesus and the Gospel. Help the listener understand how the specific passage or teaching relates to their relationship with God.[26:59] "I don't have to prove myself to anyone. I can just be myself. People are going to understand me for me." — Bryce Crawford[44:50] Love Keeps No Record of WrongWhen we love someone, we don't hold their past mistakes against them. Instead, we forgive them and give them a fresh start. This applies not only to our relationships with other people, but also to our relationship with God.Bryce explained that sometimes we hold onto past mistakes and allow them to define us, leading to feelings of shame and guilt. However, when we understand that love keeps no record of wrong, we can let go of those negative feelings and learn to see ourselves and others through the eyes of love. It's also important to extend this same grace and forgiveness to others, even when we feel wronged or hurt by them. Through love, we can find healing and restoration in our relationships, both with others and with God.Overall, the idea of love keeping no record of wrong is a powerful reminder of the transformative power of love and forgiveness. By embracing this concept in our lives, we can free ourselves and others from the burden of past mistakes and move towards a future full of hope and joy.[57:02] "If I can hit my knees and pray for my friend or my loved one before I approach them, what can I do? If you're going to see them on a daily basis, love them. Love the snot out of them." — Bryce Crawford [58:53] How should you approach the Lord? Approaching the Lord should be done with intentionality and an open heart. It's important to prioritize intimacy with Jesus by spending time daily in prayer and reading the Bible. When approaching the Lord, it's important to be honest, vulnerable, and willing to listen to His voice.Inviting Jesus into every aspect of your life and seeking His guidance in decision-making can also deepen your relationship with Him.Remember that Jesus is always waiting for you with open arms, excited to spend time with you. So approach Him with confidence, knowing that He wants to be a part of your life.About Bryce CrawfordBryce Crawford is a young evangelist who was selected to participate in Pulse 100, a ministry program that trains up-and-coming evangelists. This is a hard one. Men never want to confess their sins, mistakes and failures. But if we don't confess our sins to God, they will come out in a way that will bring harm and ruin into our lives. Jesus ALWAYS forgives us when we are honest with Him about out sin. His desire is that we walk free and without the guilt of sin.

In today's lesson, Dr. Mitchell explains two divine provisions. One from the cross and the other from the throne, that is the riches of Grace and the riches of Glory. Jesus is now on the throne praying. For whom is He praying? He is now praying for believers and not for the world. Christ died for the world but he is praying for those who know Him. God wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Can a Christian even make it in business? There are times where Christian faith can seem like a disadvantage. Moral limitations like…Honesty, kindness, not cussing others out.Not fitting in with the happy hour business crew. In school or on the job your Christian faith can actually seem like a disadvantage. The real successful people do FILL IN THE BLANK and I can't do FILL IN THE BLANK because I am a Christian. In business they have a saying…Always be Selling (Always be closing – ABC) It means that you are always acting towards your own gain – trying to close the deal and make the sale. It means that you willing to sale your self in order to make the sale…Value the sale more than… -Your authenticity-Your values and character-Helping the client I imagine a used car salesman who is only talking to you to make the sale.-Every complement is self serving.-Willing to lie in order to make the sale. The way up is down. The servant is greatest.Put others first…Lift others up… Become servant.Did Jesus demonstrate this? 36 He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” To be great – serve. Big Idea: Jesus always delivers on his promises even when we don't deserve it. In the Beginning: Jacob Genesis 36:1-43 I. You will be fruitful and multiply. 1-8 These are the family records of Esau (that is, Edom). Esau took his wives from the Canaanite women: Adah daughter of Elon the Hethite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite, and Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth. Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel, and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These were Esau's sons, who were born to him in the land of Canaan. Esau took his wives, sons, daughters, and all the people of his household, as well as his herds, all his livestock, and all the property he had acquired in Canaan; he went to a land away from his brother Jacob. For their possessions were too many for them to live together, and because of their herds, the land where they stayed could not support them. So Esau (that is, Edom) lived in the mountains of Seir. II. You will father many nations. 9-19 These are the family records of Esau, father of the Edomites in the mountains of Seir. These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau's wife Basemath. The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. Timna, a concubine of Esau's son Eliphaz, bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau's wife Adah. These are Reuel's sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the sons of Esau's wife Basemath. These are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon: She bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah to Edom. These are the chiefs among Esau's sons: the sons of Eliphaz, Esau's firstborn: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz, chief Korah, chief Gatam, and chief Amalek. These are the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah. These are the sons of Reuel, Esau's son: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, and chief Mizzah. These are the chiefs descended from Reuel in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Esau's wife Basemath. These are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: chief Jeush, chief Jalam, and chief Korah. These are the chiefs descended from Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah. These are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these are their chiefs. III. Seir, who? 20-30 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs among the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom. The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman. Timna was Lotan's sister. These are Shobal's sons: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. These are Zibeon's sons: Aiah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness while he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon. These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah. These are Dishon's sons: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. These are Ezer's sons: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. These are Dishan's sons: Uz and Aran. These are the chiefs among the Horites: chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah, chief Dishon, chief Ezer, and chief Dishan. These are the chiefs among the Horites, clan by clan, in the land of Seir. IV. Kings (and chiefs) will come from you. 31-43 These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah. When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place. When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place. He defeated Midian in the field of Moab; the name of his city was Avith. When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place. When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates River reigned in his place. When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place. When Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadar reigned in his place. His city was Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred daughter of Me-zahab. These are the names of Esau's chiefs, according to their families and their localities, by their names: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth, chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar, chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are Edom's chiefs, according to their settlements in the land they possessed. Esau was father of the Edomites. Next Steps: Believe: I want to become part of God's family today. Become: I will trust God's promises this week. Be Sent: I will push back darkness this week. Group Discussion Questions: How can family history help shape your identity? Today's Promise: Mark 1:40-41 Leprosy was the most devastating disease of the New Testament days. The leper who came to Jesus believed He could heal him, but he wasn't sure Jesus would take the time or have the desire to heal him. When Jesus saw this leper, He responded with compassion. Jesus's compassion was followed by action, and He healed him. We often come to God in prayer, feeling as though we need to convince God to hear our prayer or meet our needs. We forget that Jesus is generous with His healing and help.

March 11, 2024 | Too many times, we try to create a plan for our lives that fails to keep in mind the plan God has established for us. In this message, Daniel Harris teaches out of John 11:1-16, where we see Jesus choosing to wait to respond to a gravely ill Lazarus. Moving at His own pace, Jesus uses the opportunity to perform a bigger miracle that leads to greater glory. Are we willing to wait on the plan God has for us? How can we be patient in our waiting and use that period as a means to point others toward Christ? For more information about The Vue, visit www.bellevue.org/college. Regardless of our human opinions of what fairness should look like, Jesus and the New Testament present a choice, to accept Christ as our Savior and Lord or reject Him and rely on our own behavior for our eternal state. If one believes the Bible as a statement of God's righteous judgment, “all have sinned and fallen short of the kingdom of God” (Rom. 3:23), then we are left with His judgment without Christ.Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Persistence brings us to the true center of prayer, which is not something but someone. Persistence deepens our relationship with God and compels the heart to examine what it wants most. When I pray do I really want God's will?Main Points:1. God uses persistence in prayer to purge our desires. God also uses persistence in prayer to mold, and transform our desires, to change how we pray and even what we are praying for so that we gradually come to pray closer to the heart of God's will. 2. Do I want God even more than I want what I am asking for? If not, then for God to grant what me are asking for, even if it is a good thing, might be the most unloving thing God could ever do.3. Put into practice these words from Jesus: Always pray and never give up.Today's Scripture Verses:Luke 18:1 - “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”1 Thessalonians 5:17 - “Pray continually.”Quick Links:Subscribe to The 5 Minute Discipleship NewsletterDonate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group5 Minute Discipleship on Instagram

Jesus operated in the Spirit, not under the law. Jesus expected conflict with the law of Moses. "He who is without sin- let him come." ***Ch. 54: Jesus At The Feast Of TabernaclesJohn 7:1-8:59Jesus Rejects The Advice of His Brothers To Go To JerusalemWhen the Feast of the Tabernacles was at hand, Jesus' brothers said to him: “Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth anything in secret, if he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, show thyself to the world.” Even his brothers did not believe in him. Jesus replied to his advisers: “My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Go ye up unto this feast. I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet fullcome.” And Jesus continued yet a while in Galilee. But, after his brothers had left for Jerusalem, he also went to the feast, not openly but secretly.Jesus Defeats An Attempt To Arrest Him The authorities, suspecting that Jesus was in the city, asked: “Where is he?” The people murmured about him. Some said: “He is a good man.” Others said: “Nay, but he deceiveth the people.” However, all were afraid to speak openly of Jesus, for fear of the authorities. About the middle of the feast Jesus went into the temple and taught. Many people, surprised at his words, said: “How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?” Jesus answered them saying: “My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory; but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why ye go about to kill me?” The people answered: “Thou hast a devil. Who goeth about to kill thee?” Jesus replied: “I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the Sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the Sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous...

He rejected other religions that require working for salvation because he saw that he couldn't even fill the hole in his heart without help. Bryce's family saw him as the Christian member of the family, but he didn't fully embrace Christianity until a later age when he had his own personal revelation and encounter with Jesus. Bryce had been neglecting his relationship with God and failing to notice the little things He did in his life.Bryce was deeply moved by the man's words and realized that he too needed to invite God into every aspect of his life and totally surrender to him.Listened to the full episode to be inspired by Bryce's revelation.[12:34] "There's no growth in a relationship if the love isn't mutual." — Bryce Crawford [15:14] How God reveals himself to Gen Z PeopleYounger people are getting involved in negative things earlier, which may cause them to seek God sooner out of desperation. Bryce believes that sharing meaty biblical teachings with simplified explanations can help reach younger people on social media. Listen to the full episode to learn more about the stories of young people encountering Jesus and how their lives are changing.God can reveal Himself to the Gen Z population through personal experiences and encounters with God.[21:32] "I believe that every morning when I wake up, as my eyes are opening, Jesus is at the end of my bed. Love the snot out of them." — Bryce Crawford[58:53] How should you approach the Lord?Approaching the Lord should be done with intentionality and an open heart. It's important to prioritize intimacy with Jesus by spending time daily in prayer and reading the Bible. When approaching the Lord, it's important to be honest, vulnerable, and willing to listen to His voice. Inviting Jesus into every aspect of your life and seeking His guidance in decision-making can also deepen your relationship with Him. Remember that Jesus is always waiting for you with open arms, excited to spend time with you. So approach Him with confidence, knowing that He wants to be a part of your life.About Bryce CrawfordBryce Crawford is a young evangelist who was selected to participate in Pulse 100, a ministry program that trains up-and-coming evangelists.
