London 2012 may have broken many runners, but for Shannon Rowbury, it lit a fire that never went out.As an Olympic runner in what is now known as one of the most controversial women's 1500-meter finals of all time, Shannon refused to let that race define her. Instead, she used it as fuel, building a future that extends far beyond the track and field and into a legacy her children can be proud of. Today, Rowbury is an author, speaker, entrepreneur, sports commentator, and coach who believes there are no limits to what's possible. Alongside her husband, she co-founded the Imagining More Foundation and running camp, helping the next generation of athletes reimagine their competitive mindset. After co-authoring two books, building community in sport, and teaching leadership and team strategy in the corporate and educational world, Shannon had come to accept that the chance for a fair 2012 Olympic outcome had already passed. Then came the news: she will be awarded a medal at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles for her performance at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Sometimes, even years later, truth finds its way forward, and what was always deserved becomes a full-circle moment. Between now and the 2028 games, Shannon is determined to write her story through her own memoir and create a documentary alongside other creatives and fellow runners. We cannot wait to see where these next few years take her! In this episode of the Step Out of Line Podcast, “This Medalist's Mindset,” we explore the marathon mindset, motherhood, and the athletic journey, the importance of storytelling and sharing our truths, and more. Be sure to tune in!
From our series STEP OUT: Jonah was called by God to go to a people he didn't think deserved mercy. Instead of obeying, he ran in the opposite direction. Haar droom? Hello to you listening in San Luis Potosi City, Mexico! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more) for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. “What ever happened to stories of courageous perseverance in the face of impossible odds?” [A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles] They've been shoved aside by likes and Insta-acclaim that's all too easily found on so-called social media. Our lives are steered by uncertainties from the merely inconvenient to the life-altering disruptive. Stories abound in our life circumstances and yet we say, “Why bother with risking the courage to step out, to venture forth, to gather those stories despite the uncertainty?" I'll tell you why! We have a duty to discover and share our stories. For whom? For us! Telling our stories to ourselves helps us understand who we are, make sense of the circumstances of our lives, find meaning in “courageous perseverance in the face of impossible odds.“ You know what I'm talking about. What are you afraid of? Storytelling is about being brave enough, vulnerable enough, authentic enough to face our story, to share our story and if done well will invite our listeners to care. When we share our misfortunes with humor, confidence and ease we can lift others. “Each One Lift One” is the way we've been carried along so that we can do the same for someone else. When someone hears our story they feel hopeful, better. “What! You, too. I though I was the only one!” [C.S. Lewis] Wow! She went through that and she's still standing. I'm not doing so bad after all. Believe it or not that's all it takes: one heartfelt story can change the course of history for a single life. Story Prompt: Think of a time when you were standing on the edge of something and you decided to face impossible odds. What happened then? Write that story & share it out loud! CTA: Want to learn? I can teach you! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! She shares growing up with nemaline rod myopathy, navigating surgeries, pain, fatigue, and a nontraditional childhood, and credits her mom as her primary support and collaborator. Peri describes how her May 2025 TEDx talk sparked a new commitment to vulnerable storytelling through Substack and a memoir. She closes with motivation to embrace differences, find what you love, and create your own path. The Entrepreneurial Throughline
“If you don't see it, you can't dream it, and if you can't dream it, you can't be it.” ~ Lawrence Carter-LongDrafted into being a poster child at five, Lawrence soon realized walking was overrated and that making spaces accessible for everyone mattered more. What began as a six-month film screening in New York City featuring disability films led Lawrence to the ReelAbilities Film Festival movement. The industry either chooses to “deal with” disability or avoids it altogether. Peri experienced this while seeking an agent and publisher for her book, ultimately signing with a hybrid company whose inclusive values drew her in. She wanted to be accepted for who she is, not found lacking for who she isn't.ReelAbilities views disability through a kaleidoscopic lens, where those who write, create, produce, and film these stories are seen in full. Too often, disability narratives are framed as heroic, tragic, or “inspiring” for simply existing. This festival flips the script, showcasing the full spectrum of the disability community. In this episode of the Step Out of Line Podcast, “Only By Breaking the Rules Can You Create New Ones,” we explore disability in the arts, the barriers to inclusion, and why stepping out of line is second nature and necessary. Tune in!For more information, visit reelabilities.org. This year's festival runs April 23–30, with many films available to stream afterward.
After Easter: What Do You Do With the Empty Tomb? In the week after Easter and spring break, Jeremy welcomes attendees, highlights over a thousand people at last weekend's packed Easter services, shares upcoming events and giving options, and then asks what happens “after the moment” of celebration. Using personal stories, he compares post-event letdowns to life after Easter and argues the resurrection must move from a remembered experience to a lived reality. He notes the disciples initially hid behind locked doors in fear (John 20), but Jesus met them with peace, then purpose, sending them out with the Holy Spirit. He emphasizes believers are called to be witnesses, not perfect, and offers four practical responses: live differently as a new creation, love one another as the clearest evidence of faith, live on mission in everyday life, and build the church through community, generosity, and engagement beyond attendance. 00:00 Welcome and Updates 01:03 After the Moment 01:32 Life After Highs 04:30 Easter to Everyday 06:49 Disciples Behind Locked Doors 10:15 Peace Before Purpose 14:01 Sent as Witnesses 16:47 Witnessing Made Practical 19:54 Four Ways to Live It 21:19 Resurrection Changes You 22:44 Love Proves Discipleship 24:23 Loving in a Divided World 26:03 Mission Where You Are 28:44 Everyday Witness Moments 30:21 Build the Church Together 34:55 Step Out of Comfort 38:01 What Will You Do 40:29 Prayer for Peace Purpose

Elizabeth Mehditach is a living example of what it means to serve your dreams. A survivor of domestic violence, her values as a mother, teacher, and chef are grounded in truth and conviction. When she needed to protect her children, she did whatever it took. We are all stardust (credit to Neil deGrasse Tyson). It's a miracle we're here, so we must make the most of our circumstances, move past trauma, and keep going. This entreprenista (a Women Founders Network) calls herself a cockeyed optimist whose glass is always more than full. Step Out of the Boat by The Petra Ministries Bangalore
Time to Get Out of the BoatHost Darryl Anderson urges listeners to “get out of the boat” by taking faith-filled steps at what feels like the worst possible time, applying the idea to marriage, family, business, nonprofits, and ministry. Using Matthew 14:22 and the account of Jesus walking on water in the fourth watch of the night, he explains that God can create and stop the storm and that Peter walked on water by responding to Jesus' one word, “Come,” but sank when he focused on the waves. Anderson argues that trials can be tests preparing for a launch and that stepping out often happens without all resources in place, requiring trust in God.00:00 Step Out the Boat01:21 Why Now Feels Wrong03:11 Safety Versus Growth04:49 God Tests Your Faith06:18 Provision Needs Pressure08:05 Peter Walks on Water10:26 Why Peter Sank13:19 Your Next Faith Step14:13 Man Cave Invitation15:41 More Boats Ahead17:09 Built to Compete20:48 Bigger Vision Impact22:41 Will Jesus Let You Drown23:56 Final Invite and WrapShow is Recorded, Edited and Produced by Darryl D Anderson of Ambassador Media GroupVoiceOvers by Christopher BellIntro Theme Song Edited by Darryl Anderson (AMG) and Mixed by Damion Hill of E-Mix OnlineVISIT OUR WEBSITE for Man2Man 360PLEASE SUBSCRIBE YouTube Page: youtube.com/@man2man360Facebook Page: Facebook.com/Man2Man360Podcasts drop every Saturday at 9am EST.Full Episode Youtube drops every Saturday 8PM ESTLicensed to use song:Tough Kid https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/tough-kidIt's Raining Againhttps://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/it-s-raining-againSFX - https://musicradiocreative.com/Try our NEW Fan Mail experience and send us a Text Message from HERE!

Send us a textIn this powerful and inspiring episode, I sit with down with Pearland Firefighter Eddy Liceaga to unpack the incredible story behind Pearland's new slogan: "42 Seconds Can Change the World."Eddy recounts his October 2023 Mayday incident — a near-fatal entrapment that lasted just 42 seconds but changed his life forever. He shares the intense moments on the fireground, the split-second decisions, and the teamwork of three fellow firefighters whose rapid actions defied Mayday statistics and saved his life. From the life-or-death heat of that day to the lessons learned about training, preparation, and mindset, Eddy's story is a testament to why “muscle memory” from training is everything. His passion for the job, his message to “Step Up or Step Out,” and his unwavering dedication to his department will leave you fired up for the work we do and the brothers and sisters we do it with.If you need a reminder of why training matters, why the job matters, and why attitude is everything — this is an episode you can't miss.Email me at 3pointFirefighter@Gmail.ComCheck out our Facebook Page 3 point Firefighter Podcasthttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560769894306YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAv_hMC8vxrurhIunXtaJXg3 PFF Merchhttps://3-point-firefighter.printify.me/products #JakeBarnes,#3Pointfirefighter
Even when we can't see it, God is always at work — in our lives, our struggles, and our future. In this powerful message rooted in John 5:17, we're reminded that just as the Father is working, so is Jesus. And so should we. Key Takeaways: Remember the Past, But Don't Dwell There (Philippians 3:13–14) – Let go of what's behind and press forward toward your calling in Christ. God Is Always Moving (Isaiah 43:19) – He's doing a new thing. Will you recognize it? Create Trail Markers, Not Monuments (Exodus 12:14) – Memorials help us remember God's faithfulness without getting stuck in the past. Step Out in Faith (Matthew 14:29) – Like Peter, when Jesus says “Come,” we step forward, trusting Him. This sermon will encourage you to stay in step with a God who is always moving — inviting us to follow Him forward in faith, not backward in regret.
How does a ghost writer get to the juiciest heart of their subject? Laura Zigman is the author of six novels and has ghostwritten and/or collaborated on multiple memoirs and non-fiction books. We have fun talking about writing with someone -- not about them -- and getting their voice right; the line between curiosity and nosiness; compassion, empathy, trust and asking questions with kindness; respecting boundaries; and the honor of hearing another's stories. What if the marriage you fought to save was the very thing destroying you? In today's raw and courageous episode, Leslie sits down with Naghmeh Panahi, a woman many first heard about when she passionately advocated for the release of her husband, Pastor Saeed Abedini, imprisoned in Iran for his Christian faith. But behind the public story of courage and faith, Naghmeh was quietly suffering in a destructive and abusive marriage. Naghmeh shares for the first time some of the hidden truths behind her story—how culture, Christian teaching, trauma bonding, and spiritual confusion kept her trapped in abuse, and how God gently led her out of the rubble and into healing. Her story is not just about abuse; it's about redemption, truth, and discovering her worth as a cherished daughter of God. Whether you've questioned if your marriage is abusive, struggled to reconcile your faith with your suffering, or wondered if healing is even possible—this episode is for you.
