Send us a textThe latest live episode of 2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates is packed with the most important and intriguing Giants news today as OTAs are officially underway. Hosts Drew and Rob break down everything you need to know from the New York Giants' first two OTA sessions, including updates from Head Coach Brian Daboll on injuries, practice standouts, and some surprising depth chart movements that could shape the early part of training camp.Giants fans tuning in will hear Daboll's latest injury updates on key players like rookie WR Malik Nabers, who is being held out as a precaution due to a lingering toe issue, as well as LT Andrew Thomas and free agent signing Jon Runyan. Daboll also comments on Dexter Lawrence's progress and the slow ramp-up for CB Paulson Adebo after last year's leg injury. This episode also dives deep into the standout performances from OTA 2, where the quarterbacks shined in red zone drills. Russell Wilson threw an early TD to Eric Gray and worked exclusively with the starters, while Jameis Winston tossed four touchdowns to Slayton, Hyatt, Montrell Washington, and Greg Dulcich. Rookie Jaxson Dart made his mark with three touchdowns of his own, including one to college teammate Juice Wells and another to Dante Miller, who racked up three total TDs. UDFA Tommy DeVito connected with Jordan Bly for three scores as well. The guys analyze the Giants' reshuffled offensive line, featuring James Hudson, Aaron Stinnie, John Michael Schmitz, Greg Van Roten, and Jermaine Eluemunor. With Thomas and Runyan sidelined, the Giants were clearly experimenting up front while Mike Kafka called plays and Brian Daboll spent considerable time observing Dart.Defensively, Dane Belton and Micah McFadden both made splash plays with interceptions, and Brian Burns showed off his elite edge presence with a would-be sack. Chris Board and Darius Muasau also flashed in pass coverage. PFF recently named both Brian Burns and rookie Abdul Carter to their Top 32 Edge Rushers list, and Drew and Rob break down why Carter may be the next breakout star for the Giants defense. The show also touches on a viral moment that got Giants fans buzzing: Brandon Jacobs' son Brayden, a 6'7”, 320-pound high school senior who's committed to Clemson, has the size and pedigree to dominate. To close things out, the hosts unpack the developing story around Jalin Hyatt and why he's reportedly in the Giants' doghouse. According to insider Connor Hughes, Hyatt mentally checked out last season after a clash with the coaching staff, which led to limited usage despite his clear talent. Could this be a make-or-break year for the explosive wideout?Whether you're looking for the latest New York Giants news, injury updates, OTA standouts, or behind-the-scenes stories from East Rutherford, this episode has you covered. The College Football Playoff committee all but assured Tuesday night Ole Miss is going to be left out of the 12-team field following championship weekend.“It's a lot easier when you just have to get up for two games a year,” fifth-year Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said. The No. 13-ranked Rebels have no one to blame but themselves. Ole Miss was four plays away from 12-0. At least South Carolina was ranked behind the Rebels and isn't making it in either. Head-to-head still matters at least a little. Clemson is the Gamecocks' best win. They lost to both Ole Miss and Alabama. Of course they're out.Ole Miss was never going to win a 9-3 argument with Alabama and a worse strength of schedule. At least the Rebels licked their wounds with a Wednesday spent signing the best high school recruiting class in Kiffin's five Ole Miss seasons.Good thing, too. The wide receiver room is now further depleted following the departure of Juice Wells.Ole Miss signed, among others, five-star Caleb Cunningham and four-star Winston Watkins. Cunningham is the nation's No. 3 overall wide receiver, according to On3, as well as the No. 1 player in Mississippi.Ole Miss will be active at the position in the portal, too.Ben Garrett covers it all in an all-new edition of Talk of Champions, powered by RiverLand Roofing. Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is putting up Heisman Trophy-level numbers--and so is wide receiver Tre Harris. The Rebels have a bunch of other offensive weapons in Henry Parrish, Caden Prieskhorn, Juice Wells and Jordan Watkins. Kentucky's defense is paced on the front end by Deone Walker and the back end by Maxwell Hairston, with a ton of good defenders like JJ Weaver and D'Eryk Jackson in between. Ole Miss's defense has been stout against the run and the pass rush has been one of the country's best. Ole Miss football is less than 40 days away. The Rebels open official practices next week.Ole Miss enters the 2024-25 campaign with sky-high expectations following the first 11-win season in program history. Lane Kiffin is entering his fifth season as Rebel head coach. He's led Ole Miss to the third-best record (21-12) in the SEC over that span. The most pressing concern in and around the Manning Center is the overall health of the roster. A number of high-profile contributors were either limited or sat out of spring practices entirely because of injury. The Ole Miss Spirit's Chuck Rounsaville provided an extensive update Monday night on the ‘Rebel Yell Hotline.'“In spring, there were several players who didn't practice because of injury. A lot of them weren't major injuries; (the coaches) just wanted to get them 100 percent healthy,” Rounsaville said. “From what I understand, wide receiver Juice Wells is running routes now. Ulysses Bentley, running back, is practicing full steam. Micah Pettus, offensive tackle, is full-steam now. Diego Pounds, the offensive tackle from North Carolina, is ready to go. Gerquan Scott, the guard from Southern Miss, is ready to go. Jeffrey Rush, the freshman that came in here in January, is healthy now. “Tight end Dae'Quan Wright could run routes but they kept him out of contact in spring. He's OK. The only question mark is Princely Umanmielen. I think he's going to be OK from his labrum surgery. The latest I've gotten on him (is) two or three weeks ago they were concerned he may not be ready for August. “But the latest I've gotten is he should be. SHOULD be.” Our Sponsors:* Check out Badlands Ranch: badlandsranch.com/TOC* Check out Mint Mobile: mintmobile.com/tocAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Ole Miss last week landed Houston cornerback Isaiah Hamilton. Hamilton replaces Michigan's Amorion Walker. Walker transferred in during the winter and went through spring practices. However, he's since transferred back to Michigan. Walker was more potential than proven production. Hamilton, meanwhile, is a plug-and-play piece for the Rebels opposite Tre Amos. Amos transferred to Ole Miss from Alabama.Hamilton has an 86.9 PFF Grade since 2021. He's also compiled 12 interceptions, 18 pass break-ups, a 70.2 passer rating allowed and a 90.8 coverage grade over that span.More specifically, he addresses the final need for Ole Miss, which will remain active in the portal. Lane Kiffin and Co. are still offering wide receivers despite the returns of Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins and transfers of Juice Wells, Deion Smith and Marquis Willis.Actually, with Hamilton, the Rebels have one of college football's most enviable rosters, as Zach Berry and Ben Garrett of the Ole Miss Spirit explain in this edition of ‘The Flagship,' powered by College Corner. Our Sponsors:* Check out PXG: PXG.com/toc* Check out Tecovas: www.tecovas.com* Check out visit eufyofficial.com/videolock.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the some surprises that the Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin might recruit out of the Transfer Portal and specifically at the Wide Receiver position…Yes you heard that correctly so I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and grabbed a pipe and started looking for clues for directions that Ole Miss and George McDonald and yes Jaxson Dart's instagram played a major role.  This team already has Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells, Deion Smith and Cayden Lee but they may be looking to grow that room. In the second segment of the show we talk about Isaiah Hamilton from the Houston Cougars and what type of role a Cornerback of this magnitude would have in this lineup that features Trey Amos, Brandon Turnage, Chris Graves and Cedrick Beavers already.  And why this would allow John Saunders, Jaden Canady and Yam Banks to stay in the middle of the field for Pete Golding. In our final segment of the day we talk about the Running Back room post spring after the Kedrick Reescano defection.  What does Ole Miss have currently with Ulysses Bentley IV, Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Henry Parrish Jr right now and how Ole Miss can fill the role of a thumper with personnel and two Tight End formations.  WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?   Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the South Carolina Gamecocks fan narrative on Juice Wells that has become dominant. That is Juice Wells intentionally didn't play last season even though he was cleared to play because he wanted to transfer and took Carolina NIL money and left.  Once he transferred to Ole Miss Rebels he required Jones Fracture surgery and he is currently recovering.  Juice said that he likely was shutting it down for spring but is is about to start moving around as normal and it is going well. In the second segment of the show we talk spring football and we talk about Suntarine Perkins and where he is as a second year player in Pete Golding's defensive system and how much weight he wants to gain and how Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding plan on using the young defensive star.  Brandon Turnage met the media as well and the Tennessee Volunteer and Alabama Crimson Tide transfer is performing well per Juice Wells.  And Tre Harris showed and talked about the young WRs in Cayden Lee and Noreel White and how battling with Trey Amos is helping him. In our final segment of the day we talk about former New York Giants head coach Joe Judge has been hired as an off field analyst by Lane Kiffin for a terrific staff.  The USC Trojans have hired Eric Musselman from the Arkansas Razorbacks and all the analysts are saying Chris Beard the Ole Miss Hoops coach will be a candidate and I am not so sure.  WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?  Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Princely Umanmielen and Trey Amos.  Ole Miss has not won in Baton Rouge or Fayetteville since 2008 so some mental work will need to be overcome In the second segment of the show we talk QB Recruiting and name three 2025 HS Recruits to watch in Deuce Knight, Keelon Russell and Husan Longstreet and how after those players it may be a transfer portal play and we talk about Jaxson Dart, Walker Howard, Austin Simmons and AJ Maddox on campus now and how recruiting will change.  Then we show highlights of Husan Longstreet for those that want to get familiar with him. In our final segment of the day we talk about Ole Miss Baseball and what is wrong with this team.  How is Mike Bianco in the Transfer Portal world and is there any way that course correction could happen.  WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?  Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the importance of Nick Saban on this Ole Miss Rebels football team for Lane Kiffin.  It is a team with Jaxson Dart and Walter Nolen that will have plenty of expectations and Kiffin is leaning on his Saban lessons and building up those points with assistant coaches that have Alabama and Nick Saban backgrounds.  Wes Neighbors, Pete Golding and Joe Cox join Lane Kiffin as on the field coaches with an Alabama Crimson Tide background but Charlie Weis Jr and William Vlachos also spent time in that building. In the second segment of the show we talk Cayden Lee as the WR Story of spring practice so far and he is someone that has gotten the upperclassmen attention and new WR coach George McDonald is even starting to move this guy around on the field.  This is impressive for a guy that is competing with Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins and Ayden Williams and Juice Wells and Deion Smith will be coming soon. In our final segment of the day we talk about College Football 2.0 and whether or not you like it it appears to be here and the Rise of Personnel departments will be the next wave of college football and Ole Miss Rebels just hired a Personnel guy with 20 years NFL experience with the San Francisco 49ers and St Louis Rams to their personnel department that is becoming quite varied.   WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?  Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about Caden Prieskorn and his role in Lane Kiffin's offense with Jaxson Dart in 2024.  Even with Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Deion Smith, Juice Wells, Ayden Williams and Cayden Lee there will be a role that can only be filled by a solid, productive Tight End in Caden Prieskorn or Dae'Quan Wright.  The Ole Miss Rebels are positioned for a 2022 Tennessee Volunteers type of explosive offense but a lot will depend on the Tight End position. In the second segment of the show we talk about Jaxson Dart and the role that technology is going to play for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.  Kiffin described this technology as a Madden type offensive cheat code depending on how it is used.  Kiffin is a coach that made his reputation as an offensive genius for the USC Trojans, Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Atlantic Owls coach by whistling when he saw the look he wanted and getting a shot type play.  Now he will just have to relay it to Jaxson Dart through a head set. In our final segment of the day we talk about the Ole Miss Pro Day and the weird dichotomy that Ole Miss is doing by both promoting it as a spectator type event to generate interest and even having signage of the event to also really clamping down of the information that is going out.  In a situation where the fan base is asked to pay the salaries of players this isn't the best look. https://thegrovecollective.com/marchtovictory WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?  Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Can QB LaNorris Sellers Elevate the Gamecocks? South Carolina Spring 2024 Football Preview

On today's show, we continue our SEC Spring Preview series talking all things South Carolina Gamecocks with Andrew Lyon from Locked On Gamecocks. With Spencer Rattler moving on to the NFL, the question is if QB LaNorris Sellers can elevate the offense this season with his play, after getting a taste of playing time last year in a couple of games. The offensive line will have to play better, and they said goodbye to stud WRs Xavier Legette and Juice Wells, but they do add a proven running back in Rocket Sanders coming over from Arkansas. Shane Beamer has to get the train back on the tracks. On defense, they add a stud freshman pass rusher in Dylan Stewart, and have some proven guys in the secondary like Nick Emmanwori, Jalon Kilgore and DQ Smith, along with LB Debo Williams. They'll need to mix in some new pieces on the defensive line, but this is a big year for this defense to show significant improvement over last season. The schedule is brutal for Shane Beamer's group once again, but he will need to improve over last year's losing record, and get to at least 6-6 and go bowling to build back some trust from the fanbase. Beamer continues to recruit at a high level, but at the end of the day, wins are what matter most, and the Gamecocks will need to look competitive to keep the Beamer Era rolling. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! RobinhoodRobinhood has the only IRA that gives you a 3% boost on every dollar you contribute when you subscribe to Robinhood Gold. Now through April 30th, Robinhood is even boosting every single dollar you transfer in from other retirement accounts with a 3% match. On today's episode, we continue our Spring Previews discussing the Ole Miss Rebels. Can Lane Kiffin and the Rebels win a National Championship this season? Are they realistic title contenders? With the schedule that Ole Miss draws, their path to at least a 10-2 season is very doable and that should get them into the 12-team CFB Playoff. On offense, bringing back QB Jaxson Dart with a bevvy of weapons should make them as dangerous as always. Ulysses Bentley can fill the void of Quinshon Judkins at running back, and the addition of Juice Wells to go with Tre Harris at wide receiver should be threatening. On defense, Pete Golding has a ton of weapons with the additions of Walter Nolen, Princely Umanmielen, Chris Paul, Trey Amos and more. Can the defense be so improved that the offense doesn't have to score a ton of points every week? Andy recaps a newsy weekend as coaches were hired and players committed through the portal. We also take an in-depth look at two teams in the SEC: Ole Miss and Georgia (0:00-6:52) Intro: Is Lane Kiffin the New Portal King? (6:53-7:44) QB Kyle McCord commits to Syracuse (7:45-8:59) 5-Star QB Dylan Raiola Visits Nebraska (9:00-12:39) Former Indiana HC Tom Allen Hired as Penn State DC (12:40-13:59) Florida State Hosts Two QBs in the Portal (14:00-18:38) Congrats to the Bowl Winners! But before a deep dive into the new-look Land Shark defense, we hit some news from around the country. Former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord committed to Syracuse. Five-star QB recruit Dylan Raiola -- still a Georgia commit -- visited Nebraska. Former Indiana head coach Tom Allen was hired as Penn State's defensive coordinator. Florida State hosted transfer QBs Cam Ward (Washington State) and DJ Uiagalelei (Oregon State) this weekend. Meanwhile, Ole Miss got a commitment Sunday from South Carolina transfer receiver Juice Wells, and that came after Ole Miss got commitments from edge rushers Princely Umanmielen (Florida) and Tyler Baron (Tennessee). If defensive tackle Walter Nolen (Texas A&M) -- On3's top-ranked transfer portal prospect -- commits to the Rebels, they'll have retooled most of their defensive line through the portal. Zach Berry of On3's OM Spirit joins to discuss how active Ole Miss has been in the portal and what the Rebels expect from their high school signing class on Wednesday. Next, Jake Rowe of Dawgs HQ joins to discuss a variety of fascinating Georgia topics: Why have so many Bulldogs entered the transfer portal? Who will the Bulldogs target in the portal? During the season, Colorado coach Deion Sanders said he'd just go get new offensive linemen if he had to. It appears he's making good on his promise. After getting a commitment last week from No. 1 offensive tackle recruit Jordan Seaton, Sanders landed commitments from three transfer offensive linemen from the portal. He also added a commitment from a top-100 high school recruit at receiver.  In other news, Bronco Mendenhall is back as New Mexico's head coach. North Dakota State coach Matt Entz is leaving the FCS powerhouse to be USC's linebackers coach.  Next, On3's Pete Nakos joins to break down the action in the transfer portal. Former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord is looking at Nebraska, and receiver Julian Fleming is considering the Cornhuskers as well. Pete also provides the latest on former Texas A&M defensive tackle Walter Nolen, who is On3's top-ranked transfer portal player. Pete also talks about the recruitment of former South Carolina receiver Juice Wells, who visited Ole Miss this weekend. Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 joins to discuss Bronny James' USC debut. The son of LeBron James played his first college basketball game Sunday. The younger James suffered cardiac arrest in July, putting his basketball future in doubt. But after being medically cleared, he returned. Now he's finding his way in the Trojans' rotation. Jeff also discusses how Caleb Love has turned Arizona into potentially the nation's best team and how Zach Edey is probably more valuable to Purdue than to an NBA team. Justin Hopkins of On3's Scoopduck joins to discuss Oregon's addition of QB Dillon Gabriel over the weekend. Gabriel could be one of the highest impact transfers in 2024, but Justin explains that the Ducks aren't done yet. Want to watch the show instead?
