In this week's episode of Monday Night Therapy with Minnie Hunt, the conversation buzzed with excitement and optimism following the inclusion of guests Jarek Shrearer and Aaron Rastovski. Jarek highlighted the upcoming matchup for the women's basketball team, who are set to face LSU in the Big Ten Tournament. The anticipation for this critical game added an extra layer of excitement to the discussion. Aaron, bringing his insights from the diamond, addressed the pressing need for improvement in the baseball team's offensive performance. He lamented the current struggles at the plate, emphasizing the importance of securing hitters who can drive in runs and contribute to the scoreboard. As the discussion transitioned to football, partygoers engaged in talk about the wide receiver room and its promising future. Although this group contains a significant number of young talents, it boasts some star potential, with Jacorey Barney returning for his second year, as well as the addition of transfer Nyzaih Hunter from Cal and senior transfer Dane Key from Kentucky. Coach Shorts, the wide receivers coach, and Coach Holgorsen, the offensive coordinator, have a track record of building formidable offenses, leaving fans eager to see how they will develop this promising roster next season. Auburn travels to Lexington to face Kentucky at 6:45 Central on the SEC Network. Kentucky is a 2 1/2-point favorite according to BetOnline.ag. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee discuss the matchup, including: Both teams' offenses have struggled. Kentucky can't consistently get the ball in the hands of Dane Key, Barion Brown and Ja'Mori Maclin; sometimes that's on Brock Vandagriff and sometimes, it's his offensive line. Auburn's Peyton Throrne has been prone to losing confidence after a bad plan. Kentucky's Deone Walker, D'Eryk Jackson and J.J. Weaver are disruptive defensive presences. But when the Tigers get the ball to Cam Coleman, KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Malcom Simmons, good things can happen. Auburn's defense is allowing just 4.8 yards a play and has done well with a turnover-prone offense constantly putting it in a bad spot. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Kentucky's trip to Florida, which can be seen at 6:45 Central on the SEC Network. Kentucky's Brock Vandagriff (and the ‘Cats) offensive line have struggled recently, limiting the Wildcats' effectiveness with Dane Key, Barion Brown and company. Florida's run defense has been much improved of late. The Gators are now without Graham Mertz for the year, leaving the job to DJ Lagway. How might that affect the offense? Could the Gators go more run-oriented between Lagway and Montrell Johnson Jr.? Kentucky's defense, with future NFL first-rounder Deone Walker and linebacker D'Eryk Jackson, has been outstanding. However, the Wildcats were without corner Maxwell Hairston in a loss to Vanderbilt. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Vanderbilt's trip to Kentucky. Topics include: Vanderbilt's offense, which utilizes a lot of option game and things you don't typically see, is a headache to defend as Alabama found out in a stunning 40-34 upset last week. Quarterback Diego Pavia makes it all happen, and should be on the list of consideration for SEC Player of the Year as we near the midseason mark. The Commodores have turned it over just one time in five games. But it's strength-on-strength as Kentucky's defense, featuring Deone Walker, De'Eryk Jackson, J.J. Weaver and Max Harrison, is one of the league's best. Hairston had a par of pick-6s when the teams met in Nashville last year. Vanderbilt's defense struggles to cover athletic receivers and the Wildcats have three of them in Ja'Mori Maclin, Barion Brown and Dane Key. Talented quarterback Brock Vandagriff struggled early but looked better in the upset of Ole Miss, and made a huge play down the stretch that was the key to the upset. Vanderbilt won the last time it was in Lexington though Kentucky won decisively in Nashville last season. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview and share their predictions for Kentucky's trip to Ole Miss and analyze the matchup. Thoughts include: We get a matchup of strength on strength with Ole Miss's offense and Kentucky's defense. Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is putting up Heisman Trophy-level numbers--and so is wide receiver Tre Harris. The Rebels have a bunch of other offensive weapons in Henry Parrish, Caden Prieskhorn, Juice Wells and Jordan Watkins. Kentucky's defense is paced on the front end by Deone Walker and the back end by Maxwell Hairston, with a ton of good defenders like JJ Weaver and D'Eryk Jackson in between. Ole Miss's defense has been stout against the run and the pass rush has been one of the country's best. Did Kentucky's passing game, featuring quarterback Brock Vandagrilff and receivers Ja'Mori Maclin, Dane Key and Barrion Brown, get on track last week against Ohio?

On today's show, we are bringing you our takeaways from all EIGHT SEC Spring Games that took place this past Saturday. We start with Alabama, as we were very impressed with new wrinkles from Kalen DeBoer, and the run game looks to be dominant led by Jam Miller, Richard Young & Justice Haynes. Jalen Milroe has weapons everywhere, and the defense should be solid. Meanwhile, Georgia is loaded again as QB Carson Beck is back - I like what I saw from Dillon Bell, Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie. Trevor Etienne will be a stud at RB for them, and Mykel Williams and CJ Allen are back to wreak havoc defensively. At Florida, Graham Mertz is the veteran back at QB, but DJ Lagway certainly is impressive for being an early enrollee freshman. Trey Wilson is ready to be the go-to at WR, and Pup Howard on defense is fun to watch. For LSU, they should be an offensive machine again this time led by QB Garrett Nussmeier with weapons in Kyren Lacy and Zavion Thomas - but can the LSU defense be improved over last year?In Knoxville, we saw Nico Iamaleava pick up where he left off for the Vols, Chris Brazzell will be another weapon to add to their arsenal. Can the Vols defense improve with a freshman stuf in Boo Carter, and rising LB in Edwin Spillman? I know it's just a Spring Game, but I love what we saw at Arkansas in new QB Taylen Green. Bobby Petrino has two awesome weapons in Green and transfer RB Ja'Quinden Jackson - get used to those names. At Kentucky, even though their game wasn't televised, we got to see clips and takeaways which said QB Brock Vandagriff was impressive connecting with Dane Key and Khamari Anderson. Tempo has been the key this offseason for the Wildcats. And Ole Miss held their Spring Game which was more "games" which included a dunk contest, tug of war, hog dog eating with Joey Chestnutt, and a flag football style game that QB Jaxson Dart get in some work following lower leg surgery this offseason.Lastly, we touch on Kentucky basketball selling out Rupp Arena for a PRESS CONFERENCE as they introduced their new head coach in Mark Pope. Will Mark Pope win a title at UK? We don't know, but give the UK alum credit for not shying away from expectations in Lexington. Locked On Gamecocks - Daily Podcast On South Carolina Gamecocks Football & Basketball
On today's show, Andrew breaks down the weapons that Mark Stoops' Kentucky Wildcat squad on offense in Will Levis, Chris Rodriguez and the RB unit and Tayvion Robinson and the WR, and how they present matchup problems for the Gamecocks defense. He starts with Will Levis, discussing how he has seemed to improve slightly from his up and down play overall in 2021 and what traits make him a solid above average quarterback, specifically noting his big frame.Andrew then discusses Chris Rodriguez Jr., Kavosiey Smoke and Lavell Wright, particularly how Rodriguez is such a great traditional throwback at the running back position and what makes him hard to stop, the diversity Smoke brings to the field from a skillset standpoint and why Lavell Wright is viewed by the Wildcat fanbase as the next great running back at Kentucky. He then talks about Tavyion Robinson, Barrion Brown and Dane Key at the wide receiver position, specifically why Robinson could be a problem for whoever plays nickel corner for South Carolina due to a combination of his route running ability and the Gamecock secondary's recent trend regarding penalties. Andrew also mentions how Brown and Key's size could pose some problems for South Carolina's outside corners.Lastly, Andrew gives his final opinion on who he thinks the biggest offensive threat is that the South Carolina Gamecocks have to worry about in their matchup against Kentucky.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!LinkedInLinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. Can Mark Stoops and the Wildcats get it done on the road again? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe is joined by Locked On Ole Miss host Steven Willis to preview No. 7 Kentucky vs No. 14 Ole Miss. The guys break down the headlines as the matchup draws closer. Star running back Chris Rodriguez is back for the Wildcats and should make an impact on a relatively dead rushing attack. Ole Miss' rushing attack, on the other hand, has been extremely lethal (albeit against weak competition) thus far this season. The trenches are going to play a huge role in this matchup. How does Ole Miss' banged up defensive front take on Kentucky's offensive line? Can Will Levis find enough time in the pocket to get the ball to Tayvion Robinson, Dane Key, and Barion Brown? Ole Miss has a pair of injuries at the running back position. Can Quinshon Judkins carry the load for the Rebels' offense? How does QB Jaxson Dart fair against a strong secondary? Finally, the guys give their predictions as to how the game is going to go down. It's a huge one in Oxford, Mississippi. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Anthony Richardson who? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps Kentucky football's 26-16 win over the Florida Gators. Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and his staff did a phenomenal job preparing for this game, and it showed in the tape... Will Levis did just enough to not lose the game, the offensive line took major strides forward after a subpar showing in the season opener, and the defense (aided by stellar play from Keidron Smith and Carrington Valentine) completely shut down Anthony Richardson. Oh, and freshman receiver Dane Key is a beast, too. What does the win mean for the Wildcats? What should the vibe be moving forward? Lance gives his thoughts. Kentucky is now ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll, their highest ranking of the Mark Stoops era, and the highest ranking for the program since 2007. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Fill in the blank: Jacob Toppin will be a first-round pick IF _. On today's episode of Locked on Kentucky, Lance Dawe goes over some Kentucky Football spring game notes. The Kentucky passing offense was expected to take off, and it surely did. Will Levis was incredibly efficient, as was Deuce Hogan. Freshman wide receiver Dane Key made his mark, scoring a touchdown on a wide open throw from Levis. Virginia Tech transfer Tayvion Robinson also got into the mix. Finally, Lance takes a look at Kenneth Lofton Jr, a (quite literally) massive transfer from Louisiana Tech that Kentucky has reportedly reached out to. Snowy spring game at Kroger Field. Jordan Lovett made his mark. Dane Key did too. Will Levis is on a collision course with a first round selection in next year's NFL Draft. Oscar Tshiebwe is back in business. Condolences to the family of Jerry Bell.
On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Bryce Hopkins' decision to enter the transfer portal. The former Kentucky Wildcat received limited playing time this past season and would likely be sitting behind Jacob Toppin and Chris Livingston this upcoming season. He also dives into Kentucky football's spring game and how it could be a fireworks show. The Wildcats are depleted on the defensive side of the ball because of injuries and inexperience, therefore allowing Will Levis, Beau Allen, and Deuce Hogan to take advantage. Receivers like Dane Key and Izayah Cummings are going to needs to step up as well. Finally, Lance explains why Texas Tech transfer Terrence Shannon Jr. should be at the top of Kentucky's list. Shannon is a bouncy combo guard/forward that is incredibly aggressive offensively and possesses a lot of likable traits. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
