It's Lauren Paul & Molly Thompson Day on the podcast!  Lauren Paul is the co-founder of Kind Campaign and Director, Writer and Producer of Kind Campaign's award-winning documentary, Finding Kind. Finding a way to start a conversation about bullying has been on Lauren's heart ever since her own life-altering experience in middle school. After studying film at Pepperdine University, Lauren joined forces with her friend and fellow filmmaker, Molly Thompson and founded Kind Campaign, a multi-platform movement that has changed and saved hundreds of thousands of lives, friendships, classrooms and communities around the world. Kind Campaign is the nation's premier anti-bullying movement for girls and has impacted millions through their school assemblies, documentary film, Kind Club Curriculum and global movement. Since 2009, Lauren and Molly have been on the forefront of this conversation, personally speaking in over 776 schools across 26 Founders Tours. Lauren has been awarded with the Public Education Award by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Open Heart Award by the Open Hearts Foundation. Molly hails from Texas where she lived for all of her life before moving to California to attend Pepperdine University where she met her “partner in KIND,” Lauren. During her time at the university, Molly studied acting and film/television production, joined Delta Gamma Fraternity, and studied abroad in Florence and London. This combination of experiences led her to understand even more that as girls, we weren't all that different from one another, and that bullying often comes from a place of self-doubt and insecurity. She has spent many years now working to change the status quo and encouraging girls to ban together rather than farther apart. Lauren Paul and Molly Thomson joined me to talk about how and why Kind Campaign started over 15 years ago, the thousands and thousands of lives that have been changed over the years because of their work, and so much more. ✅ Follow Lauren on Instagram. ✅ Follow Molly on Instagram. ✅ Follow Kind Campaign on Instagram. ✅ Visit Kind Campaign's website to get involved today! ________________________ ✊

Unconstitutional Gag Order: Judge Gives Massive In-Kind Campaign Contribution to Biden

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Show (10/16/2023): 3:05pm- On Monday, Judge Tanya S. Chutkan imposed a limited gag order on Donald Trump—in a case that alleges Trump conspired to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Judge Chutkan's gag order prevents the former president from verbally attacking witnesses and prosecutors publicly. Alarmingly, it may also restrict Trump's ability to criticize specific elements of the Biden Administration's Department of Justice. Could this gag order impact Trump's ability to campaign—and is it a violation of his First Amendment right to free speech and petition? Trump is expected to appeal the order. You can read more here: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/16/judge-imposes-gag-order-on-donald-trump-in-d-c-trial-00121743 3:15pm- Max Marin of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “Police have arrested a suspect in the killing of Officer Richard Mendez and the wounding of Officer Raul Ortiz, who were shot on Thursday while responding to a car theft in a parking garage at Philadelphia International Airport.” During an afternoon press conference on Monday, the Philadelphia Police Department identified the suspect as Yobranny Martínez Fernández—though, they are still actively searching for two other suspects. You can read more about the developing story here: https://www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia-airport-shooting-arrest-richard-mendez-raul-ortiz-20231016.html 3:40pm- Will Judge Tanya S. Chutkan's imposed gag order on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump impact his ability to campaign effectively? Under the order, Trump will be unable, for example, to criticize Special Counsel for the Department of Justice Jack Smith. From his Truth Social account, Trump stated: “WILL APPEAL THE GAG ORDER RULING. WITCH HUNT! A TERRIBLE THING HAPPENED TO DEMOCRACY TODAY—GAG ORDER!” 4:05pm- According to Audrey Fahlberg of National Review, “three avowed ‘no' votes—Representatives Mike Rogers (R-AK), Ken Calvert (R-CA), and Ann Wagner (R-MO)—all [signaled] in public statements that they will reverse course and back [Jim] Jordan's bid.” The House is expected to have a floor vote to decide the next speaker on Tuesday afternoon. 4:15pm- In a closed-door vote held on Friday, House Republicans nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to be the next Speaker of the House—he received 124 votes. The only other candidate running against Jordan, Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA), announced he would withdraw from the race. Will Jordan be able to unify the Republican caucus and win the 217 votes necessary to be named speaker? 4:40pm- Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL) told reporters on Capitol Hill that he will not vote for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to be the next House speaker. He explained: “I am a ‘no' on allowing Matt Gaetz, and the other seven [Republicans that ousted Kevin McCarthy], to win by putting their individual in as speaker.” Meanwhile, an optimistic Jordan told reporters: “We are going to elect a new speaker tomorrow.” 5:05pm- Max Marin of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “Police have arrested a suspect in the killing of Officer Richard Mendez and the wounding of Officer Raul Ortiz, who were shot on Thursday while responding to a car theft in a parking garage at Philadelphia International Airport.” During an afternoon press conference on Monday, the Philadelphia Police Department identified the suspect as Yobranny Martínez Fernández—though, they are still actively searching for two other suspects. You can read more about the developing story here: https://www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia-airport-shooting-arrest-richard-mendez-raul-ortiz-20231016.html 5:15pm- While speaking at the 2023 International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray warned that Hamas-style terrorist attacks may be coming to the United States. If this is true, why isn't the Biden Administration prioritizing border security? Griff Jenkins, national correspondent for Fox News, reports that at least two Iranians on the terror watchlist have been arrested at the U.S. Southern border already this month. 5:25pm- While speaking with Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes, President Joe Biden conceded that there is an elevated terror threat in the United States following the Hamas attacks in Israel. Biden went on to accuse Hamas of “hiding behind civilians”—which makes it more difficult for Israeli forces to eliminate the threat of future attacks. 5:35pm- Rich is joined by 1210 WPHT producers Anthony and Dan who are at Citizen Bank Park ahead of tonight's Game 1 playoff matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks. In order to qualify for the debate, candidates will be required to have contributions from 70,000 unique donors and have at least 4% support in national polling. 5:50pm- According to Corrine Murdock, “The Department of Justice (DOJ) put financial institutions on notice for rejecting illegal immigrants' credit applications. The DOJ issued the warning in a joint statement with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)… The two agencies claimed that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) protections for national origin and race extended to alienage, though they admitted that no such explicit provisions spelled out their interpretation.” You can read the full report here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/doj-warns-financial-institutions-that-they-cant-reject-illegal-immigrants-credit-applications 6:05pm- Rich is joined by 1210 WPHT producers Anthony and Dan who are at Citizen Bank Park ahead of tonight's Game 1 playoff matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks. Jen tells the story of how she wrote a novel about being bullied in school so that other kids getting bullied could have something to read and see that they are not alone, and they are not broken. There is also a deep discussion on the humanitarian crisis in Haiti, the struggles of White saviorism versus helping fellow humans, and how Hearthstone Village is getting girls in Haiti to not only finish high school, but to go to college, too! Haiti has one of the lowest rates of girls in school, and a girls education is the greatest tool to get a community out of poverty. Jenny Dalton (you can call her Jen too) is an author, facilitator, coach, healer and polymath. She’s an ENFT, Sagittarius, Manifesting Generator. Her work in the world flows from facilitating healthier local food systems and fundraising for an orphanage in Haiti, to talking about her recently published book “Of Butterflies & Bullies” – a Judy Blume inspired story about her experience being bullied in 5th grade. She’s also starting what she calls the Better Friends Club which will create a space for grown women to heal from their own childhood bullying. And, Jenny is excited that she recently became a Kind Campaign ambassador which means she will be facilitating school assemblies to empower younger girls to talk about their own bullying experiences. In today’s episode, we’re virtually sitting down with Molly Thompson and Lauren Paul, the co-founders of the Kind Campaign! The Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization and school program that is bringing awareness to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying.   If there is one thing we’ve learned in this last year, it’s that we really have to take much more responsibility for the way that our behavior and actions can impact others. Living an ignited life does not just refer to you; it refers to our community. None of us can truly expand until all of us do and none of us are free until all of us are.   In this episode, we really open up about a lot of things — our own experiences with bullying, the effects of bullying, specifically for young girls, the correlation between bullying and addiction, what it looks like to own our insecurities so that they stop spreading on to others, the power of an apology, how to ask for forgiveness, and how to give forgiveness, how we’re teaching our own kids about bullying, and what we can all do in supporting the fight against bullying in schools. This is a really important episode, especially in 2020 as we’re all becoming increasingly aware of the power of our language and in the actions that we take toward one another. We’re all in this together.   IGNTD Specials: IGNTD Live Online Groups (Free for 14 Days) IGNTD Subscription ($43 per month & 30 days of Live Groups included) IGNTD “Once an Addict” Campaign   Topics Discussed: [:34] About the amazing vacation we just went on! We are back in Catt's bedroom this week, and this time, she's joined by Lauren Paul and Molly Thompson - founders of the nonprofit Kind Campaign that aims to end girl-on-girl bullying in our schools. The two real-life best friends share a behind-the-scenes look at how they bonded over being bullied as young girls and why they decided to channel that pain into something productive. After meeting in college, Lauren and Molly joined forces and decided to travel the country to make a documentary on the "mean girl" phenomenon, and what we can do to foster forces of kindness instead. The film grew into an international movement, and the women now work with schools across the globe through in-person assemblies (when those were allowed) and educational curriculum, to help promote inclusivity, love and acceptance among girls and teens. Lauren also shares a peek at what it's like to be married to actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, BoJack Horseman) and how his support has made it possible for Kind Campaign to climb to new heights. And in this episode, Catt shares a story about experiencing harassment by fellow females during her freshman year of high school - and who stepped in to stand up for her.  *A note, this was taped months before the Coronavirus hit, so the interview was done in-person in Catt's home

I was just fourteen when I met the end, Missed my bus, and lost the plot, I was holding a pistol to my head, Prayin' for the strength to take a shot. I'd planned for months for this last day, When I'd wake up and take my father's gun, And end this game, that I can't play, I'm done, and I don't care who lost or won. I'm older now, and I sing with you, A simple song of grace. Will you sing it too, and see it through? Or leave without a trace . . . I don't fit in, can't climb those hills, See no future, no place to step down, It's not the weight, but the speed that kills. I can't swim the river, and can't get around. My bones are bending, my fingers bleeding, I tried and tried to get in the flow. I just want to be me, not something your reading, My hand says yes, but my heart says no, no, no. I'm older now, and I sing with you, A simple song of grace. Will you sing it too, and see it through? Or leave without a trace . . . I was ready to shoot that ball of lead, When I heard a voice crying out with me, You heard my prayers to be done and dead, Then you held me tight, and mostly disagreed. You said wait! Don't you think it's odd? that you're the only one feeling so unsure? Be yourself, forget your fancy façade. Don' fix it, it's aint broken, and can't be cured. I'm older now, and I sing with you, A simple song of grace. Will you sing it too, and see it through? Be strong and take your place. Song of Grace: Copyright 2012-2017 John Lopker & Lenore Thomson. Long time friend Jen Dalton joins Alexandra and Lenya to discuss writing, where to get your news, bullying, and so much more. Jen is an author of a YA novel called [“Of Butterflies & Bullies”](https://www.butterfliesbullies.com/) available now on Amazon. Jen tells the story of how she wrote a novel about being bullied in school so that other kids getting bullied could have something to read and see that they are not alone, and they are not broken. There is also a deep discussion on the humanitarian crisis in Haiti, the struggles of White saviorism versus helping fellow humans, and how [Hearthstone Village](https://www.hearthstonevillageukiah.org/) is getting girls in Haiti to not only finish high school, but to go to college, too! Haiti has one of the lowest rates of girls in school, and a girls education is the greatest tool to get a community out of poverty. Jenny Dalton (you can call her Jen too) is an author, facilitator, coach, healer and polymath. She's an ENFT, Sagittarius, Manifesting Generator. Her work in the world flows from facilitating healthier local food systems and fundraising for [an orphanage in Haiti](https://www.hearthstonevillageukiah.org/), to talking about her recently published book [“Of Butterflies & Bullies”](https://www.butterfliesbullies.com/) – a Judy Blume inspired story about her experience being bullied in 5th grade. She's also starting what she calls the Better Friends Club which will create a space for grown women to heal from their own childhood bullying. And, Jenny is excited that she recently became a Kind Campaign ambassador which means she will be facilitating school assemblies to empower younger girls to talk about their own bullying experiences. As a woman who devours learning opportunities and reads voraciously, she leans towards topics of spirituality, quantum physics, shamanism, plant medicines, the mysteries of life and consciousness and post-apocalyptic survival stories. #### Links: [Jen Dalton's Of Butterflies & Bullies](https://www.butterfliesbullies.com/) [Stephen King's On Writing](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10569.On_Writing) [Kitchen Table Consulting, LLC](https://www.kitchentableconsulting.com/) [Love in Action Coaching](https://www.loveinactioncoaching.com/) [Hearthstone Village](https://www.hearthstonevillageukiah.org/) #### Why not to follow Shaun King: [She Writes To Live - The Shaun King We're not Talking About](https://shewritestolive.medium.com/the-shaun-king-were-not-talking-about-84c46ab40079) [A Community Word About Shaun King](https://medium.com/@concernedcommunity2019/a-community-word-about-shaun-king-sitdownshaun-4be75abc1f37) [deray on Shaun King](https://twitter.com/deray/status/1265253718016040960?lang=en) #### Who to follow instead for great resources on the movement: [deray mckesson on Instagram](https://instagram.com/iamderay?igshid=n3mnyjpgt40s) [Tamika Mallory](https://instagram.com/tamikadmallory?igshid=6sva4ptfb743) [Brittany Packnet Cunningham](https://instagram.com/mspackyetti?igshid=sqp2d9dphbnz) [America Hates Us](https://www.instagram.com/p/CNnGqVUgkzA/?igshid=1d0gvd3ocp70t) [Chnge](https://www.instagram.com/p/CNnO2IWADLI/?igshid=1wy4128cme63d) -- Please **rate and review** this podcast if you enjoyed it; reviews greatly help new listeners see this podcast is worth their time.
