Marni welcomes Shyama Mathews to The Life Check Yourself where the duo discusses what it means to go through menopause and how to handle the changes your body is experiencing. Shyama is a gynecologist who is trained in minimal invasive gynecology surgery as well as a certified menopause specialist. She has helped women navigate their families and careers while enhancing their quality of life. In tackling the topic of menopause, Marni and Shyama agree that it isn't something that is discussed enough, and it's important to bear in mind that different women experience it differently. The transition, which has both mental and physical symptoms, is a subject that needs to gain more traction as it affects all women at some point. Menopause isn't the big bad wolf Not everyone experiences it in the same way How to seek the right information on menopause Does Our Fear Stem From Misinformation [09:36] Menopause isn't a topic typically discussed in the media. The information surrounding menopause and what women should expect isn't as readily available as other topics. While there are a number of resources, you need to actively search for them as they won't necessarily how up on your feed. While the average age for menopause is around 50. However, the symptoms for menopause can start manifesting themselves 5 to 7 years before that. It isn't actually an irrelevant topic for young women because I do think everyone should sort of know what's coming down the road. Don't DIY it [13:00] It's important to find the proper channels and experts to guide you through it when you start experiencing symptoms that you're not familiar with. When you're in an age bracket where it is likely to be menopause, do your research and find an expert to help you navigate it and dissect whether the symptoms are a byproduct of menopause or something else. Go for a consultation just like you would treat any other illness or problem. Go to a specialist for a special problem. Know Your Options [22:28] Educating yourself on your body is important, especially as a woman. It could save you a lot of otherwise unnecessary trouble. As women, we need to be aware of our options and that comes through education. We have old information. We're doing a huge disservice. In this week's episode we are going to talk about Inheriting a House That Isn't Paid Off . Inheriting a property with a mortgage can be a complex and emotional experience. On the one hand, it's an exciting opportunity to own a piece of real estate. On the other hand, it can also be a significant financial responsibility. Here are three things to do when you inherit a property with a mortgage. Assess the situationThe first step you need to take is to assess the situation. Determine the current balance of the mortgage and the interest rate. Find out whether the mortgage is a fixed or adjustable-rate mortgage. If it's an adjustable-rate mortgage, it's important to know when the interest rate is set to adjust and what the new rate will be. You should also find out whether there are any penalties for paying off the mortgage early or if there are any fees associated with the mortgage. Determine your optionsOnce you have a clear understanding of the mortgage terms, you should determine your options. Depending on your financial situation, you may decide to keep the property and assume the mortgage payments. If the property is not your primary residence, you may want to consider selling it. If you decide to keep the property, you should contact the mortgage lender to inform them of the change of ownership and discuss the payment options available to you. Seek professional adviceInheriting a property with a mortgage can be complicated, so seeking professional advice is crucial. Consult with a financial advisor, a real estate attorney, or a tax professional to help you make informed decisions about what to do with the property. They can advise you on the tax implications of inheriting a property, as well as the legal responsibilities that come with ownership. In conclusion, inheriting a property with a mortgage can be a big responsibility. Taking the time to assess the situation, determine your options, and seek professional advice can help you make the best decisions about what to do with the property. Remember that you don't have to make any decisions right away. Take the time to weigh your options carefully and seek advice from professionals who can help guide you through the process. Many people take a hardline stance when it comes to health: they either trust mainstream, allopathic medicine and mainstream medical doctors, or they are committed to natural and alternative healing protocols. From my perspective, both extremes are shortsighted. Why not focus on what is the best option for you based on your goals, challenges, and your phase of life? From hospital births, to birth centers, and home births these different locations all have pros and cons and honestly, not everyone is a good candidate for all of these places. Market Proof Marketing · The Makings of a Content Masterpiece with Sarah Titus About a month ago, Sarah Titus, Marketing Manager for Eastbrook Homes in Michigan, shared in the MPM Facebook group a content project she'd just launched that day. The crowd went WILD. So we invited her to the show to discuss exactly how the Know Your Options video series/content hub came to be. Listen as Sarah describes the backstory and process for launching a new home content masterpiece. Also in this episode… Kevin celebrates the wins, website benchmarks for 2021, and a potential podcast format change. Story Time (3:20) Julie watched the entire, cringe-worthy season of Emily in Paris on Netflix. If you're a marketer, you might get a kick out of it, too. Andrew wonders if companies get more sales/referrals/businesses if they posted more influencer-type content. Kevin considers three questions: Consumers want more content but less human interaction Wait/VIP lists – there's no right or wrong way to do it – what's your goal? A builder “accidentally” sold an extra 100 homes on the last day of the month – oops? In the News (21:23) Home Builder Website and Marketing Benchmarks – S2E2 (oneilinteractive.com) What was the exception, is now the standard Superstar Cities Are in Trouble (theatlantic.com) 3 Ways Home Builders Can Prepare for the End of 3rd-Party Data (doyouconvert.com) Check out segment.com 360 Topic of the Week: To Gate or Not to Gate? (41:26) Sarah Titus, Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer at Eastbrook Homes, joins us to discuss a website content initiative that made her quite popular with fellow marketers. In this conversation we'll learn more about the Know Your Options video and blog series, designed to simplify the selections process and empower buyers. They discuss: The backstory of the project: the desire to shift focus from attracting leads to helping the customer How this project was an offshoot of Eastbrook University Structure of the Eastbrook marketing team, and why Sarah wanted to manage 7 additional vendors Why the right idea at the wrong time is still the wrong idea How she pitched the idea to leadership, and why she demanded carte blanche Why they decided that each content hub should contain video, text AND images, and how much of that content was new vs. re-purposed Sarah's origin story and why she is Kevin's twin marketing sister. Question of the Week (1:29:36) This week we are clarifying last week's QOTW about a potential format change to the podcast. By separating out stories/news from guest interviews, we would produce the same amount of content, just more episodes. So we'd continue with news/stories every Thursday, and when we do guest interviews we'd have an additional episode for that week. More episodes means shorter episodes. Keeping everything together means one longer episode each week. Submit your feedback here – we'd love to hear from you! Questions? Comments? Email show@doyouconvert.com or call 404-369-2595 and we'll address them on the next episode. More insights, discussions and opportunities in the Market Proof Marketing Facebook group. Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men's Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee answer a question emailed in to the program by you, our listeners! If you have a urology or health-related question that you would like to hear answered on the air, please email your questions to armormenshealth@gmail.com. Questions are answered anonymously (unless otherwise specified), and the answers will likely benefit many people with the same concerns. Our listener asks, "My urologist has talked to me about a prostate cancer treatment. What is the difference between the CyberKnife procedure and a HIFU?"-Dr. Mistry reminds us that approximately 350,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. Despite being one of the most common cancers in men, it also has a low mortality rate, meaning that treatments are often effective at targeting cancer and prolonging life. This is great news! Dr. Mistry discusses two of these treatments today. 1. Cyberknife- The Cyberknife uses a form of external beam radiation to target cancer in the prostate gland. This procedure is relatively quick; however, it does involve radiation and can have an impact in organs near the prostate gland.2. HIFU- Short for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, this procedure uses focused sound waves to target prostate tissue in a non-cutting manner. This procedure does not include exposure to radiation and is a good option for men wanting to minimize possible side effects of surgery on erectile and urinary function. If you have questions regarding prostate cancer treatments or are seeking a second opinion, our team would love to hear from you. Additionally, Dr. Mistry takes time each week to offer free phone consultations to discuss your unique prostate cancer treatment plan.
