Fall marks the open enrollment period for many employer-sponsored health insurance plans as well as the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace, which is especially critical for Americans who don't have access to health insurance. Transamerica Institute's most recent survey findings were quite striking: Fewer than three in ten individuals who do not have health insurance are seeking medical attention when needed, and even fewer are getting routine physicals and recommended health screenings. Without such care, they're missing a potential opportunity to catch issues early on – issues that could intensify and become less treatable and more expensive to treat later on. On this podcast episode, Al Waller and Catherine Collinson outline what you need to know about health insurance including different types of insurance available, the options and trade-offs involved, and key details about Marketplace Open Enrollment for 2025.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Marni welcomes Shyama Mathews to The Life Check Yourself where the duo discusses what it means to go through menopause and how to handle the changes your body is experiencing. Shyama is a gynecologist who is trained in minimal invasive gynecology surgery as well as a certified menopause specialist. She has helped women navigate their families and careers while enhancing their quality of life. In tackling the topic of menopause, Marni and Shyama agree that it isn't something that is discussed enough, and it's important to bear in mind that different women experience it differently. The transition, which has both mental and physical symptoms, is a subject that needs to gain more traction as it affects all women at some point. Menopause isn't the big bad wolf Not everyone experiences it in the same way How to seek the right information on menopause Does Our Fear Stem From Misinformation [09:36] Menopause isn't a topic typically discussed in the media. The information surrounding menopause and what women should expect isn't as readily available as other topics. While there are a number of resources, you need to actively search for them as they won't necessarily how up on your feed. While the average age for menopause is around 50. However, the symptoms for menopause can start manifesting themselves 5 to 7 years before that. It isn't actually an irrelevant topic for young women because I do think everyone should sort of know what's coming down the road. Don't DIY it [13:00] It's important to find the proper channels and experts to guide you through it when you start experiencing symptoms that you're not familiar with. When you're in an age bracket where it is likely to be menopause, do your research and find an expert to help you navigate it and dissect whether the symptoms are a byproduct of menopause or something else. Go for a consultation just like you would treat any other illness or problem. Go to a specialist for a special problem. Know Your Options [22:28] Educating yourself on your body is important, especially as a woman. It could save you a lot of otherwise unnecessary trouble. As women, we need to be aware of our options and that comes through education. We have old information. We're doing a huge disservice. In this week's episode we are going to talk about Inheriting a House That Isn't Paid Off . Inheriting a property with a mortgage can be a complex and emotional experience. On the one hand, it's an exciting opportunity to own a piece of real estate. On the other hand, it can also be a significant financial responsibility. Here are three things to do when you inherit a property with a mortgage. Assess the situationThe first step you need to take is to assess the situation. Determine the current balance of the mortgage and the interest rate. Find out whether the mortgage is a fixed or adjustable-rate mortgage. If it's an adjustable-rate mortgage, it's important to know when the interest rate is set to adjust and what the new rate will be. You should also find out whether there are any penalties for paying off the mortgage early or if there are any fees associated with the mortgage. Determine your optionsOnce you have a clear understanding of the mortgage terms, you should determine your options. Depending on your financial situation, you may decide to keep the property and assume the mortgage payments. If the property is not your primary residence, you may want to consider selling it. If you decide to keep the property, you should contact the mortgage lender to inform them of the change of ownership and discuss the payment options available to you. Seek professional adviceInheriting a property with a mortgage can be complicated, so seeking professional advice is crucial. Consult with a financial advisor, a real estate attorney, or a tax professional to help you make informed decisions about what to do with the property. They can advise you on the tax implications of inheriting a property, as well as the legal responsibilities that come with ownership. In conclusion, inheriting a property with a mortgage can be a big responsibility. Taking the time to assess the situation, determine your options, and seek professional advice can help you make the best decisions about what to do with the property. Remember that you don't have to make any decisions right away. Take the time to weigh your options carefully and seek advice from professionals who can help guide you through the process. Many people take a hardline stance when it comes to health: they either trust mainstream, allopathic medicine and mainstream medical doctors, or they are committed to natural and alternative healing protocols. Where will you be giving birth? Did you know there are options? Today we're going to be talking about where to give birth, because if you don't know your options, you don't have them. From hospital births, to birth centers, and home births these different locations all have pros and cons and honestly, not everyone is a good candidate for all of these places. What's important is that you find the place you're drawn to and a place that will support you and your vision of where to give birth. She has attended thousands of births in the last 20 years and is very passionate about supporting unique and personalized care for each family. I love speaking with Catherine, she has her facts, years of experience in a truly wide variety of births and birth locations, and she's really wonderful. I think our conversation will be helpful for people who aren't quite sure of all of their options, so they can decide what's best for them. It's that time again! Every year, during the open enrollment period from October 15th through December 7th, we recommend that all seniors review their Medicare coverage and see what new options might be available to them. It's also extremely important that new retirees who are signing up for Medicare for the first time get a handle on the ABCDs of Medicare, as well as the things that Medicare does and doesn't cover. On today's show, we prepare you for Medicare Season 2021 and discuss some key aspects of your health care coverage that you'll want to investigate before open enrollment ends.

The May futures are currently trading around 24, which is almost three times current S&P realized volatility. Not much movement in NASDAQ. Volatility Viewpoint: Today's guest is Mike Cavanaugh, president of Know Your Options, Inc. Mike talks about hedging stock portfolios with options and volatility products, the trouble with opening rotations, and more. Crystal Ball: Don't expect much to happen in the next week or so.
