Deux ans plus tard, Uncut Gems a été traité par notre équipe, sans toutefois soulever en nos rangs l'enthousiasme qu'on pouvait observer alors de la part d'un grand nombre de critiques.Et pourtant, notre amour pour le cinéma américain qui a forgé notre cinéphilie nous pousse aujourd'hui à consacrer ce nouveau numéro à The Smashing Machine, première réalisation de Benny Safdie en solo (il y officie aussi en tant que scénariste, co-producteur et monteur). Précisons que le film possède d'autres attraits qui ne pouvaient nous laisser indifférents. Son sujet d'abord, biopic du lutteur de MMA Mark Kerr, The Smashing Machine évoque instantanément les classiques du genre tels que Raging Bull de Martin Scorsese (1980) ou évidemment le séminal Rocky de John G. Avildsen (1976). D'autre part (et il s'agit là de l'argument promotionnel principal), le film serait le véhicule idéal pour Dwayne « The Rock » Johnson - rendu méconnaissable par le travail remarquable du maquilleur Kazu Hiro - pour s'acheter une crédibilité en tant qu'acteur de composition.Intéressé par l'action hero vedette, notre émission permet à Manuel Haas de replacer le film dans une carrière plus marquée par des choix intéressés que par de trop rares coups d'éclats. C'est néanmoins l'occasion rêvée pour le transmetteur de crier son amour pour le Pain & Gain de Michael Bay (2013).En fin d'émission, impressions à chaud sur La Petite dernière d'Hafsia Herzi et éloge de l'article signé François Cau sur le cinéaste S.S. L'associació Sitges Jazz Lab va néixer el 2019 amb la idea de treballar en l'educació musical i oferir un seminari de jazz per a joves i no tan joves i resisteix el pas del temps amb un públic fidel que a l'estiu augmenta degut al nombre de visitants que rep la vila. N'hem parlat amb Xavi Plaza i Miquelo Matas, membres del Sitges Jazz Lab que ens expliquen les propostes per aquest estiu que passen pels dijous a la nit el Jazz al Club, al carrer Bassa Rodona, 6; pels divendres el Jazz al Cau del Vinyet, als jardins de l'Hotel Subur Marítim amb els capvespres musicals de 19h a 20.30h i els diumenges el Jazz al Sofia a les 19h. Un vincle de la família Matas amb el món del Jazz que s'origina amb les èpoques de la Cava del Retiro i que ha derivat en una aposta clara per les actuacions jazzístiques en directe i que aquest estiu portaran a la vila concerts amb artistes de renom com Jorge Rossy. L'entrada Jazz en directe és l’aposta del Sitges Jazz Lab tot l’any i aquest estiu es reforça amb actuacions rellevants ha aparegut primer a Radio Maricel.
