On today's episode, we're going even deeper into my stalker situation. I'll be sharing more details about his delusional tendencies—including how he's gone as far as pretending to be a police officer to manipulate and control people (which is a crime, by the way). I'll also be answering the questions I've received from you all about this ongoing situation.Law enforcement is now more involved (actual police, not to be confused with blue light bandits), we know everything, and we'll be handling it all legally. Tune in for the full update.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmJnibJBpoe9p7ReNXovwJMQN&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqIm_BhDnARIsAKBYcmsZOengz4NFStC14G_b2eziJgYpA8kGt2sokaR9i3PcTxs0QmcaPosaAtbGEALw_wcB
Today, I'm sharing something deeply personal and serious—my stalker story. For over a year, Timothy C. (we can share his full name soon if need be) has been physically stalking me, and his digital harassment goes back even further. Law enforcement is now involved, but I wanted to update you all in case anything happens to me—so there's no question about who did it. This episode isn't just about my experience; it's also about the reality of stalking, the dangers of obsession, and the importance of taking threats seriously. Stay aware, stay safe, and let's talk about it all, shall we?—https://noblegoldinvestments.com

Nick Cohen chats with Imran Ahmed, the CEO of the U.S.-based Center for Countering Digital Hate about the fight against the forces of online hatred and extremism that pose such a threat to western values, democracy and civilisation. What can the West do to face down the out-of-control moguls who control the social media giants and profit from a tidal wave of digital hate and extremism?A lost truth leading to authoritarianismSocial media is destroying the truth and the currently chaotic information system is leading to authoritarianism. Imran says, "The information ecosystem has evolved in recent years and has been entirely commercially driven and has been without the consent of people - quite often - forced upon us." Imran adds people should have the ability to force change on the social media giants.Social media giants profit hugely from hate - & driving people to extremesConspiracy theories, extremist views, disinformation. misinfomation and outright lies are increasingly dominating social media more and more. Imran says extremist political movements were "benefiting from mobilising conspiracy, theory communities, hate communities, and that wasn't just happening in the U.S. You know, the lazy assumption is this is a Trump thing. It's not." He adds, "What social media platforms have done have taken... those fringe ideologies, [&] churn them into the mainstream."The West has failed to Musk & social media moguls to accountImran is one of the few to have taken on by Elon Musk and survived to tell the tale! Back in March, Imran comprehensively defeated Musk in the courts when a U.S. judge threw out attempts by the Trump boot-licker to gag Imran's CCDH organisation. But, so far, the West hasn't been as determined to take on the Leviathans of digital. "It is because of a lack of will and a lack of confidence, I would argue, amongst European and United States, lawmakers, that we have failed to hold them accountable'", Imran tells Nick, adding, "that's in part because, you know, this is difficult for us. We are true believers in Britain and in the United States in freedom of speech."Feeble or no regulation leaves us all exposed to digital hateImran says the local deli is subject to far more regulation than online social media moguls and that has ledt us all exposed to thr abuses of social media power as we saw in the U.S. presidential cam paign when. Elon Musk flagrantly put X, formerly TWITTER to the service of Donald Trump. Imran asks "How on earth can it be that social media platforms are the only businesses in America that are not subject to negligence law or any kind of scrutiny whatsoever?"Imran Ahmed founded the CCDH in December 2017. He frequently appears in the media as an expert in online malignant behaviour (identity-based hate; misinformation; extremism; fake news; trolling; and social media). Imran is a trustee of the charity, Victim Support. He was appointed to the Steering Committee of the UK Government's Commission on Countering Extremism Pilot Task Force in April 2020, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.Nick Cohen's @NichCohen4 latest Substack column Writing from London on politics and culture from the UK and beyond. Scammers have gone from postal mail and faxes to email and phone calls where you never see the person, but now with AI, you can even have a live video call that seems completely real with deep fake technology. It's no longer safe to just see a person, but there are other things you can do to know if you're communicating with the individual they claim to be. Today's guest is Anna Rowe. Show Notes: [0:55] - Anna shares her background as a teacher and describes how she was catfished in 2015. [11:44] - Pig butchering includes another problem, where scammers themselves are also trafficked. [13:59] - A lot of victims don't realize they are interacting with a scammer for a long time because they aren't asking for money. [17:51] - In years past, Photoshopping an image to appear realistic wasn't as easy as it is now with AI. [19:26] - Blending a new face onto an existing photo can even be used in video. [26:20] - This technology is improving quickly, but Anna shares some of the ways you can tell if something is a deep fake. [28:51] - There are simple things to check on profiles that you can notice as red flags before getting involved with someone. [33:01] - Scammers also really like using cryptocurrency because it is unregulated. [34:14] - Scammers build a reality typically by using the 5 C's of reasons why their spouse is gone. [37:30] - There are different strategies to look for certain things as you “become your own detective” on various social media platforms. [40:57] - When scammers know that you are “onto them” they know what they can change. [43:36] - Every decision a scammer makes is premeditated. [46:50] - Scammers will keep you hooked and space away from them could get you in a space of trusting your gut. [53:32] - Reverse image searches are extremely helpful. [57:50] - Anna describes some of the ways she was able to determine what her scammer was doing. [61:10] - Anna was put into an open relationship without her consent. [63:05] - Future faking is common in narcissists and psychopaths. [64:26] - These scams are really damaging and it is important to not use victim shaming language when discussing it. Every 79 seconds, someone is killed or injured in a drunk or impaired driving crash in the United States. As we near the holiday season, this risk increases to approximately 21 million chances of encountering an accident between November 1 and January 1.Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the foremost non-profit leading the fight to prevent the devastating consequences of impaired driving. The organization has played a crucial role since its inception, reducing crashes by 50% through advocacy efforts, influencing federal policy, leading education initiatives, and providing support services to victims.Ultimately, the power to reduce drunk driving lies not with any organization but with the people who make the decision to drive impaired. So this holiday season, MADD is introducing its new year-end campaign and cause platform, ToGetThere, with the aim of increasing everyone's chances to get home safely. We invited Stacey Stewart, CEO, and Kim Pucci, Senior Director of Marketing and Engagement, to speak to MADD's impact, how you can make a plan to drive safely this holiday season, and how they plan to get “there”— to a world in which impairment puts no lives at risk.Listen for insights on:Rebranding cause initiatives to align with the digital media ageHelping stakeholders understand the true impact of a statisticEngaging multi-stakeholder groupsStaying true to purpose during periods of changeResources + Links:Stacey Stewart's LinkedInKim Pucci's LinkedInSign the ToGetThere PledgeDrunken-Driving Warning Systems Would Be Required for New Cars Under U.S. BillMADD's Power of Parents ProgramMADD's Power of Youth ProgramMADD's Victim Support (00:00) - Welcome to Purpose 360 (00:13) - MADD (01:52) - Meet Stacey Stewart (03:32) - Meet Kim Pucci (04:48) - Initiatives (09:49) - Relevance (12:04) - Effective and Impactful (14:40) - To Get There (19:08) - Core Insights (21:09) - Changing Behaviors (22:27) - Other Trends (24:43) - Leadership (26:10) - Shared Insights (33:08) - Wrap Up
