Laks Ganapathi, a distinguished voice in stock research and short selling from Unicus Research, offers an inside look into the meticulous strategies needed to navigate high-traffic stocks influenced by Reddit and AI trends. You'll learn how Laks' approach combines deep investigative techniques like channel checks and ex-employee interviews with conventional analysis methods. Through the SolarEdge case study, discover how uncovering discrepancies between company claims and market realities can illuminate the intricate dynamics of short selling. When it comes to investing, management quality can make or break a company's success, and Laks' insights bring that to light with examples from the airline industry and automotive giant Stellantis. Poor management has the potential to decimate stock value and create operational chaos, a reality underscored by Stellantis' current hurdles. Our discussion also highlights the formidable challenges of shorting stocks in today's unpredictable markets, using Carvana and Reddit as cautionary tales of the risks and rewards that come with betting against the tide.As political winds shift with Trump's policies, the economic landscape could change dramatically. We examine the potential repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act and its impact on companies depending on government subsidies. From tech to private prisons, understand which sectors might flourish and which could face headwinds under Trump's administration. The conversation wraps up with a nod to the complexities of economic policy and the unpredictable ripple effects of political change. Hosted on Acast.
Cow Hug Therapy How The Animals at the Gentle Barn Taught Me about Life, Death, and Everything In Between. Autographed copy of the inspirational story of the compassionate and wise animals of the Gentle Barn and how they became a therapeutic salve for countless guests — and mentors for all of us in how to live and die In Cow Hug Therapy, Ellie Laks, founder of the Gentle Barn Foundation, shares the extraordinary journey that started with her first teacher, Buddha — not the religious figure, but a rescued miniature Hereford cow. One evening Buddha wrapped her neck around an exhausted and upset Laks and transferred a singular form of healing and comfort with an incredible impact. Understanding that this was something to be shared with others, Laks developed Cow Hug Therapy, a groundbreaking approach to emotional healing that has proved effective for trauma, illness, disabilities, addiction, grief, and stress. Cow Hug Therapy is a colorful and compelling narrative of the healing mavens of the barnyard through the years and their individual stories of being rescued from trauma and treated with love and respect. These animals have transformed lives and ignited breakthroughs, newfound purpose, and freedom, including for a young mother who lost her baby, a suicidal teenager, a wounded serviceman, an open-heart surgery patient, and many more. Media outlets including ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's TODAY show, and The Atlantic magazine have featured numerous stories of the hopeless beginning to thrive at the Gentle Barn. A testament to empathy and the mission to heal animals, people, and the planet, Cow Hug Therapy captures a remarkable journey of transformation and serves as a beacon of hope for all seeking healing and connection. https://store.gentlebarn.org/products/autographed-copy-of-cow-hug-therapy-how-the-animals-at-the-gentle-barn-taught-me-about-life-death-and-everything-in-between Make sure you buy this amazing book!

Do animals have a sense of humor? They most certainly do say animal communicators. In this episode, you'll meet Portia, a playful turkey who played a joke on her human caretakers. Portia had been rescued from slaughter at just 12 weeks old by the Gentle Barn Animal, an animal sanctuary with 3 locations across the U.S. Like most genetically engineered turkeys made to fatten up quickly for slaughter, by the time Portia was two she was so big she couldn't stand and was struggling under her massive weight. Ellie Laks, the founder of the Gentle Barn, who also happens to be an animal communicator, asked Portia if she wanted to be released from her pain. Much to Laks' surprise, Portia said she wanted to live, but not just live like a regular turkey, live like royalty. Was she serious? Or was she joking? And what did her caretakers learn from this fowl play? That's in this episode of Rover Says. Thanks so much to the Gentle Barn, Ellie Laks, and Portia! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Men holder begejstringen stadigvæk? "Work life balance; there's not such a dichotomy. It's not like either/or. Work is part of our life. So how you choose to make your livelihood has to be some expression of who you are." Courtney is so excited to be welcoming Debra Laks to the show! If Courtney wasn't already living her dream job, Debra's would be it! A clinical career counselor, specializing in "confusion reduction", Debra helps people find balance, fit, and fulfillment in their occupational pursuits. Courtney's interest in the field of career counseling is born of her own career confusion, a common theme of her lamentations from approximately 1998 through 2008, and served as entryway into the field of counseling and mental health. In this wide ranging conversation, Debra and Courtney discuss the fallacy of "work-life balance", explore the ways career is tied to identity, and the importance of self-knowing. This leads, of course, to a little side discussion on one of Courtney's favorite topics: personality metrics! A lively discourse on Myers-Briggs typology, Holland codes, and astrology ensues! Debra and Courtney also talk about the impact of, and lessons from, the COVID era, the role capitalism plays in our career choices, identity, and satisfaction, and the ways our work lives are changing in the 21st century. They also reflect on trauma v. burnout v. emotional fatigue, and the role of meaning making in career wellbeing. Debra shares a bucketload of resources with listeners including https://www.themuse.com/, https://www.tealhq.com/, https://www.truity.com/, and https://www.onetonline.org/. Also mentioned as career related resources are local libraries and college career centers, when applicable. You can learn more about working with Debra by visiting her Psychology Today profile. About our guest: Debra Laks, MSSA, LMHC is a Clinical Career Counselor and NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor, in private practice since 1986. Prior to establishing her own practice, Debra served as Director of the Career Counseling Department for a large non-profit organization, and was Assistant Director of Adult Education at Queens College, where she coordinated a post-master's certificate program in career counselor training. Debra regularly shares her knowledge and expertise with other practitioners regarding guiding clients through a deeper exploration of professional goals and career identity to assess strengths, internal barriers, values, work style and development needs. Her approach focuses on helping clients formulate a personal definition of success and map out viable strategies for actualizing goals. She provides a framework for facilitating career decision-making, advancement and change through supportive, solution-focused counseling and assessment. Debra is a graduate of The National Institute for the Psychotherapies' one-year program, Psychodynamic Approaches in Clinical Practice. She currently serves on the Boards of the Career Development Specialists Network (CDSN) and the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (NACCA). She is also an active member of the Hudson Valley Guild of Mental Health Professionals. As always, thanks for listening!
