Dr. Tony Hart (heard on the "Grand Old Gospel Hour" Sundays at 730pm & 10pm) shares about the upcoming Unity Conference Saturday 10/28/23 at Germantown Christian Assembly in Philadelphia (you can enter to win event tickets on WFIL's Contest page through Friday 10/06/23). Dr. Hart--Sr. Pastor of Montco Bible Fellowship in Lansdale PA since 1992 & President of GOGF Ministries since 1998 also talks about several aspects of the ministry and offers thoughts on being a pastor. Julie Grant checks in regarding the new show "Opening Statements with Julie Grant" on Court TV (weekdays 8am-9am). Art of the Brewery: the Artist Philospher

He doesn’t consider himself to be a philosopher, but we beg to differ. Listen and tell us we’re wrong! The artist philosopher, Dan Yowell, began creating intricate label art for Round Guys Brewing Company with a simple sketch. The sketch found its way onto the wall of the Round Guys Brewing Company kitchen, where it sat for a considerable amount of time. In 2020, Round Guys Brewing Company decided to revamp a legacy label for its Chronomancer Quad Ale. Finding a new design that successfully conveyed the idea of a “Chronomancer” became surprisingly difficult to source. After exhausting all of his sources, Bill McGeeney put out a general call within the organization for ideas. Scott Rudich suggested to use that design that sat clear taped to a wall. Dan Yowell’s odd design, which to the layman resembles a mega-grub, became an instant fan favorite. People instantly found themselves attracted to the abstractness, imparting their own ideas and emotional attachment to something, that for all practical purposes, was a weird giant grub. Host Bill McGeeney takes you on a mission to learn about Yowell’s philosophy based inspiration for his art, along with how he binds craft beer and brilliant designs together in this Art of the Brewery podcast on the Round Guys Radio Network. Two artists find themselves at a crossroads, eager to showcase their art. Shannon Vogel, utilizes the pour painting technique to create impressively real texture in her art, adding both depth and personality to each painting. Melinda Szczepanksi (melindaglassworks@gmail.com) indulges her deep love of stained glass, both rescuing and refurbishing old glass art to build into new custom glass designs. Both Vogel and Szczepanski became part of a new organization, the Headway Art Collective, established in 2018. It’s goal, as told by founder Erik Sacony, is to bring art to breweries, specifically harness the already apparent creative overlap between craft beer and local art. Headway Art Collective provides space for artists to grow and support each other, as a living breathing artist community in the Montgomery County, PA area. Host Bill McGeeney brings you the story of the Headway Art Collective, here on the Art of the Brewery, on the Round Guys Radio Network. Rather, its inspired by the rush from skydiving. There's a lot going on in this song. First, the lyrics "this could be such a splendid way to die...it feels so good to be alive" directly refers to the adrenaline rush the band felt when they used to perform at a sky diving event in New England, followed by AM jumps. Second, music geeks be on notice, the main verse riff starts as 8 notes, then drops to 7 next go round, then to 6, 5 and so on.Support the show (http://Facebook.com/RoundGuysRadio)

'When it Falls Apart' references close knit groups most notably founded by Laura's tiny high school class. In today’s episode, I’m talking with Matt, the owner of Backyard Beans Coffee - in Lansdale PA. You’ll hear: How Matt went from roasting using an air-pop popcorn maker he got at the thrift store, to being carried by Whole Foods and roasting hundreds of pounds of coffee a week. How he took the leap to full-time, leaving his really stable, well-paying career job to jump into Backyard Beans full time, with the help of his business partner and wife, Laura. How he thinks about management and engaging with employees. We’ll also talk about how they got their branding so on-point, and utilize the talent of their employees and hired talent to make amazing Instagram content, keep a beautiful website, and more. In my humble opinion, I think Backyard Beans offers some of the best coffee in the nation, and while it’s a somewhat young company still, Matt, head roaster Bobby, and the whole team have done an amazing job to craft the brand that exists today.
