Hello and welcome to The Everything is Black and White Podcast - it's The Match Preview. Newcastle United face Brighton at The Amex on Saturday night hoping to rid the memory of that late defeat to Liverpool last weekend. Brighton themselves had their backsides handed to them by West Ham - in a shock 3-1 defeat. So both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways. United face late calls on Joelinton and Sven Botman, and it could prove a key moment in the futures of Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Targett. *** Please vote for The Everything is Black and White Podcast in the Best Premier League Podcast category at The Football Content Awards. https://footballcontentawards.com/voting/ Learn more about your ad choices. Nottingham Forest #nffc are ready to brace themselves for numerous bids for Welsh star Brennan Johnson over the last few days of the transfer window, and have already rejected offers from #spurs and #brentford in the last few days. Tottenham Hotspurs are rumoured to have offered £20m plus Sanchez for Johnson, and that offer got swiftly rejected by the club, but Forest are expecting Spurs to come back in with an improved offer, as this deal looks set to head into the final days and hours of the transfer window. With Spurs Johnson's preferred destination, Brentford are outsiders for his signature, but they have also had a bid rejected which was reported as £43m. So this could turn into a bidding war and both clubs battle it out for the signing of the winger. In other news Nottingham Forest continue to hunt for a new left back, a new target is Matt Targett! The Newcastle United left back has fallen down the pecking order at St James Park, and both Forest and Fulham are interested in the player, but it seems Newcastle are not keen to let him go this summer, so we will have to wait and see if this progresses any further. Greek International goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos might be the deal that is more likely to be completed in the coming days, as Benfica and Forest are close to agreeing a fee around the 10 million euro mark. Vlachodimos would add competition for new keeper Matt Turner, and it is unclear who would be the first choice goalkeeper this season. We also have a round up of all the other transfer news regarding Nottingham Forest, so let us know what you think about todays news, and dont forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to Forest Fan TV. We sat down with Olympic champion and world record-holder Cesar Cielo to talk about his career, where it's at, and where it has been. Cesar recounts many of his highlights, taking extra care to give details on his time at Auburn alongside sprinter greats like Fred Bousquet, George Bovell, and Matt Targett. He recalls the power work they did on Monday and Friday mornings as well as the competitive environment he was a part of with this group. Cielo also dives deep into his experience at the 2008 Olympics, admitting that mentally he was in quite a bad place heading into the 100 free and was quite sure he had missed the final after his semi-final swim. However, once he made the final in lane 8, he was able to pivot in a more positive direction, yielding him a bronze in that race and Olympic gold in the 50 free just days later. What a fantastic start to the week. Before I was even awake on Monday morning, Saints had taken care of some serious business in the transfer market, bringing in Che Adams from Birmingham and shipping Matt Targett off to Aston Villa. Not long after that, Danny Ings was officially announced as a Saint after his loan spell from LFC ended. That makes two signings under Hasenhuttl and two attacking options added to the team. It’s also the first major departure of Ralph’s tenure. Targett played a significant role last season when Bertrand was out, but was going to be short of the first team football he craves and was coveted by several clubs according to rumors on the internet (where everything is true). Joining my this week to discuss all the movement, on and off the pitch, is Jay of @southamptonpage (Instagram). From Adams to Targett to the backroom shuffle, and social media mishaps, we break down what’s going on at Saints. If you don’t follow the @southamptonpage (Twitter), go do that. It's more winning ways for Fulham this week and although other results didn't quite fall the way of the Whites, there's a quiet feeling of pleased reflection among the boys in the studio as we look back on an incredible second half of the season, and a full century of podcasts. We open with a full discussion of the Sunderland game and all of the caveats it possessed, including a complete round of praise for the much-maligned Aboubakar Kamara, who had a fantastic game off the bench in an unfamiliar right-wing position. There's time to discuss Matt Targett's injury, Cardiff's result at Hull, the Birmingham game and whether any old friends (and foes) might be in the position to do us just a tiny favour over in Wales next weekend. As ever, we take a host of Fulham questions from across the board, talking about everything from squad rotation to who we'd love to score the winner at the weekend, and there's plenty of laughs as well.A huge thankyou for all your support across all our networks —Twitter, Facebook and Instagram — and for all those of you who write for and help curate the Fulhamish website, which houses the best Fulham content on the internet. Fulham's fifth Championship win on the spin and an unheard of sixth consecutive league home victory saw off the challenge of Aitor Karanka's new-look Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on Saturday, as the Whites went up to the dizzying heights of fifth in the Championship table. The game threw up plenty of talking points, with the match chat centred around Fulham's frustrating inability to start halves well, their excellent habit of scoring late goals, the return to life of Stefan Johansen, the impact of Aleksander Mitrovic and the assured quality of Matt Targett.Whilst good performances all round are a good thing, it throws up a bit of a selection headache for Jokanovic, with his three strikers one issue; the six loanees fighting for five spaces another; and 20 players of first-team calibre chomping at the bit for selection a further complication. As Drew says, however, these are good problems to have. There's plenty of time for questions at the end as Dom retains his secretarial duties for a second week running after an assured performance there on last week's episode, where we discuss the return of Tom Cairney, the captain's social media habits; and debate who was the club's best ever January signing.Hosted by: Jack J CollinsPodcast Guests: Dom Betts, Drew Heatley See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This is our preview of Barnsley vs. Fulham. During the show, in the Cottage Talk Roundtable we discussed Matt Targett, Chris Martin, Tom Cairney, and Oliver Norwood. Co-hosting this episode was Dan Crawford from Hammyend.com.You can also listen to the show on Friends Of Fulham.
The Portuguese Connection between Rui Fonte and Lucas Piazon came to the fore at the weekend as the pair put a hapless Burton Albion to the sword in a swashbuckling first half by the Whites. The Fulhamish boys convene to dissect a near-perfect performance against what was admittedly was a dismal opposition, take a look at the burgeoning relationships within the squad, and look forward to having two strikers returned to both confidence and form for the next couple of games.Ryan Sessegnon gets yet another love-in, there's special praise for Aboubakar Kamara (even from Jack); before we look at new signing Matt Targett, adding a little chat with Saints specialists The Ugly Inside for more the 'inside scoop' (sorry) on Fulham's latest acquisition. As ever, there's loads of room for your questions and discussion points, which focus heavily on the birthday boy Lucas Piazon, and everyone goes home happy.Whilst we have your attention for a minute, make sure that you're subscribed to our new YouTube channel, which we brightened up this weekend with a special Team Matchday Experience. We're active on the classics as well, and more so every week - don't miss our output on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.Fulhamish is backed for the season by Ladbrokes, and as a special offer for all the lads, you can Bet £5, Get £20 right now at bet.fulhamish.co.ukPodcast Guests: Jack Collins, Ben Jarman, Farrell MonkHosted by: Sammy James See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Matt Targett from Google joins the podcast to talk about micromoments, search, how your social can effect where and how you are found online, and which of his three careers were the toughest to get into.
