Chris interviews Matthew Hamilton of Labrador Studios and asks him about the design and development of their turn based tactical RPG, Live by the Sword: Tactics. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/sausage/TSF_Episode425.mp3 The Sausage Factory 425 was edited by Chris O'Regan The Sausage Factory is an interview-based podcast that lifts the lid on the makers of videogames. It examines the way in which games are made by asking the very people who create them, though the questions asked aren't just about game design, they also cover how developers made their start and what inspires them as creators. Split into two halves, the first segment delves into what makes the developers tick by asking about how they started, what and who inspires them and what games they are currently playing, whereas the second part of the show covers the game that they are currently working on and the thought processes behind its development. So, if you really want to hear about a game's gestation in full and frank detail then you have found the right podcast.

Considering Mark McMorris' medical history, it's no surprise he jokes about enjoying rare time off between surgeries. It takes another beat to process his comparisons with teammate Max Parrot's recovery from cancer. But that is the unlikely reality: Two guys, buddies on the same team, both at death's door not so long ago… both on the podium in Beijing. You either laugh or cry at life's twists and turns. And McMorris isn't crying. Not everybody can claim a podium every time their sport has been contested in the Olympics. McMorris can: Three Bronze medals in a row. And not everybody at the age of 28 can speak as an elder statesman in their profession. McMorris can do that too. Midway through McMorris' Beijing games (Big Air qualifying begins Monday) Anastasia gives her fellow prairie pal a break from the high octane technical questions. You want to know what's really on McMorris mind at this moment? A whole bunch of music, plenty of love for his home team, respect for the creativity in other people's TikToks, even when he's on the butt end of a meme…and the puzzling appearance of Skateboarder Paul Rodriguez Nikes on the feet of American curler Matthew Hamilton. McMorris loves that. His summary of the situation? It's all sports, It's all good.

In many companies, HR departments continue to lag behind other functions when it comes to using data in ways that'll maximize engagement and retention rates. Some companies are not doing anything, most are mired in basic operational reporting, and only a small amount is actually practicing advanced or predictive analytics. In this HRchat, we consider why the best HRpractices are based on cold, hard data and how HR pros can better leverage analytics to make informed decisions. Our returning guest is Matthew Hamilton, Head of HR Strategy and People Analytics at Protective Life. Interview Questions Include:Why is it important for HR to have data-driven and analytical skills? Can you give examples of how people analytics can help or enhance HR?Do you find that the HR community is still hesitant to base the assessment of employee performance on cold, hard data? If so, why?As Head of HR Strategy and People Analytics at Protective Life, what are the most important metrics you look at when assessing employee and team performance? Have the metrics changed during the pandemic? Can you share any best practices for using data to better listen to and support employees during this new normal? And what are the best ways/approach to measure the engagement of new hires to max retention rates? Where does a data specialist come in to prevent attrition? Can you share some of your predictions for the evolution of people analytics over the next 12-24 months? We do our best to ensure editorial objectivity. The views and ideas shared by our guests and sponsors are entirely independent of The HR Gazette, HRchat Podcast, and Iceni Media Inc.

This episode is part 2 of Jim Corbett's hunt for the man-eating leopard of Rudrapryag. In this episode we look at many missed opportunities and failures from the hunt. This man-eating leopard proves to be an extremely difficult animal to kill as it escapes cyanide poison, bear traps and bullets. It's a real life Houdini leopard. At the end we learn exactly why so many villagers believed this leopard was an evil supernatural spirit out to get them. Leopards are amazingly cool animals... But in this case they can also be scary monsters. This week on the podcast we breakdown the 2019 horror, 'Midsommar' along with Matthew Hamilton as well as a special interview with our Swedish guest Martine Nergaard. Enjoy the listen.
Razor Thin - Privilege for Third Parties: Donna Fisher, a retired partner with Troutman Pepper and now a Fellow of The Pepper Center for Public Service, Matthew Hamilton, a long time Troutman partner now joining Morgan Lewis and Brett Tarver, an associate at Troutman, speak with host Richard Levick of LEVICK about the evolving and often conflicting world of attorney-client privilege, including the work product, Kovel and functional equivalent doctrines, waiving privilege and the difference between state and federal courts. A must listen for consultants and employees who work with law firms on litigation.
To celebrate our 100th episode we bring you one of Jim Corbett's most famous stories... The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudrapryag. This will be part 1 of 3 and is the set-up for Corbett's hunting story. We learn all about the leopard and how it became a man-eater as well as learn about some of the kills it made. This leopard brought terror to the local villagers for 8 long years. They almost killed it multiple times, but the leopard became an escape artist to continue it's taste for human flesh. With over 125 kills this leopard is a heavy hitting serial killing machine. This episode we cover the largest snake on the planet... the anaconda. Anacondas are native to South America in the Amazon Rainforest. They are very large snakes with sharp teeth and tons of strength, enough to constrict and kill large mammals. Their top size is heavily debated, some believe they've seen anacondas up to 60ft long. Anacondas are subject to the most extreme size exaggerations of any living animal. They are more likely to be at a max size of 20ft and 210lbs ish. Large enough to be man-eaters though? We also talk about the cult classic movie Anaconda film from 1997. Learn all about these snakes in this constrictor of an episode. This episode we look at the longest sled dog race, the famous Iditarod. Every first Saturday in March mushers and sled dogs participate in a 1,000 mile race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. It is a race of endurance that can last 9-13 days through the treterous terrain and weather of Alaska. We go over the interesting history of how the race began and how it works now. We also talk about 2 very good self dog films Togo and Iron Will. And of course all the dogs are "good boys".
