Mehmet Yildiz | Yavuz Bülent Bâkiler: Dilin namusunu koruyan bilge by Tr724
Yavuz Bülent Bâkiler vefat etti. Türkçenin bayraktarı, vatan sevdalısı bir şair, yazar. Her mısrada, her cümlede aşkını sevdasını anlattı.

Barıştan yana olduğunu belirtti fakat hemen ardından “Filistin'i tanımak Hamas'a ödüldür” dedi. Bir şey daha öğrendik onun sözlerinden. “Dünyada en çok yargılanan din Hristiyanlık” imiş. Yargılayan mı demek istedi, sormak gerekir.
Gazeteci Erdal Sağlam ve Semih Sakallı, siyasette artan tansiyonu ve bunların ekonomik etkilerini, Erdoğan-Trump zirvesini, ekonomi yönetiminin New York temaslarını tartıştı.

Gazeteci Erdal Sağlam, Ankara Sayfası'nın yeni bölümünde CHP'ye yönelik devam eden baskıları, Merkez Bankası'nın adımlarını, Mehmet Şimşek'in enflasyonla mücadele mesajlarını, ve önümüzdeki döneme dair bizi bekleyen riskleri masaya yatırdı!

Hulya Mehmet is a thought leader in children's communication, a pioneering speech and language therapist, and a transformative author. With over 25 years of clinical experience and personal insight as a parent, she understands the confusion, fear, and frustration that families, educators, and professionals face when a child or individual isn't communicating in expected ways. Too often, parents are told to “wait and see.” Educators and workplaces lack the tools to respond. Neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood or sidelined. Hulya is changing that. In 2004, she founded Articulate Kids, a specialist practice delivering compassionate, evidence-based speech therapy to individuals with complex communication needs — including autism and ADHD. Her work has helped thousands of children and young people communicate, thrive, and reach their full potential, often after other services have run out of answers. As a powerful advocate for neurodiversity and a voice for systems-level change, Hulya challenges outdated models and promotes more inclusive thinking across education, healthcare and business. She also works with organisations and corporate teams to develop neuroinclusive cultures — helping leaders better understand, support and retain neurodivergent talent. Her recently launched debut book, Why Isn't My Child Talking?, is already recognised as a must-read for those navigating communication differences. Her thought leadership has been featured in The Daily Telegraph, and she consults widely with schools, businesses, and institutions. As a trained leadership coach, she brings strategic insight to communication and inclusion at every level. Hulya is part of a growing movement that's changing the way we think about neurodivergent people, not as problems to fix, but as individuals with untapped strengths, insights, and potential. Her work is helping to reshape the landscape across education, healthcare, and business, ensuring communication is not a barrier but a bridge. She's committed to building a world where all individuals — regardless of how they express themselves — are seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. In this episode, we discover the following:The importance of communication in order to connect. What is the most effective way to connect with ourselves and others? How to become more authentic in our leadership. How to move from confusion to clarity. With podcast host Mark SephtonHope you'll enjoy the episode!
Migration Watch Chairman Alp Mehmet says the student visa system has become a “scam”, allowing hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals to stay in the UK permanently, with over half never going home.In 2024, nearly half of all UK visas were student visas, and new analysis suggests over 500,000 graduates have remained in Britain after their studies, a number expected to hit 1 million within three years unless action is taken.Mehmet says lower-tier universities are financially “addicted” to international fees and are being used as backdoor routes to residency. Nigel Nelson joins the discussion on whether UK higher education is selling out its purpose, and its borders. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
On Thursday the 13th of October 2022 at 8:30pm, an attractive Turkish-Cypriot couple (Koray & Gozde) left the Amazonico restaurant at 10 Berkley Square in Mayfair. Keen to impress his date, Koray treated Gozde to an easy evening of fine dining, fun chat and fancy cocktails. Being her first trip to London, it began with three days of sightseeing across this wonderful capital city, and she hoped, some romance. Yet a few hours later it would end in a kidnapping, torture and murder. At the EUVC Summit 2025, Mehmet Atici from Bek Ventures aimed a popular narrative—that Europe is underperforming as a tech region. Not because it's untrue, but because it's incomplete.“Yes, there's catching up to do. But you can't argue there's no dynamism in Europe—it's just not evenly distributed.”And once you look closer, the picture changes fast.Much of the “Europe must act” discourse comes from the continent's largest economies—France, Germany, and the UK. But productivity data tells a different story:Poland and Bulgaria are growing steadily.Ecosystems in Tallinn, Lisbon, and Barcelona are booming—fueled in part by digital nomad visas.Eastern European founders are making waves well beyond their borders—with names behind global giants like Databricks and Snowflake.“Building a business isn't a lifestyle choice for them. It's a global ambition from day one.”These founders bring international exposure, capital efficiency, and hunger—without the insular networks that often define more mature markets.Sure, improving regulation—around stock options, company formation, or funding incentives—helps. But as Mehmet put it:“That's medicine without a proper diagnosis.”The bigger issue isn't operational—it's strategic positioning. The U.S. remains the most attractive market: a single language, deeper capital markets, and cultural cohesion.Europe's software market is just 23% of global share, compared to 43% in North America. So even if we fix the mechanics, the gravitational pull of the U.S. won't go away. And in some cases, a European identity may actually slow access to that market—not speed it up.What if fragmentation wasn't our weakness—but our untapped advantage?“The most thriving tech ecosystems are the most politically cohesive—because they serve founders, not flags.”Europe doesn't need to copy the U.S. to succeed. It needs to recognize excellence wherever it emerges, connect the dots, and support founders wherever they're starting from.In Mehmet's words:“Our opportunity is to transcend borders—not erase them.”“Let's not forget: the original EU model was ‘United in Diversity.'”It wasn't a flaw. It was a feature.Europe's next wave of global founders may not come from the centers you expect—but they're already building. Our job is to back them, bridge them, and help them win on a global stage.Let's get to it.Not Just Paris, London, BerlinEurope's Problem Isn't Just PolicyFrom Fragmentation to SuperpowerThe Original European Model Still Applies

MigrationWatch #IllegalMigration #UKBorders #AlpMehmet #JonGaunt #ImmigrationCrisis Britain is facing an immigration crisis – and it's about to get worse, warns Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migration Watch UK. In this explosive interview with Jon Gaunt, Alp – himself an immigrant – says diversity is our weakness, not our strength, and that mass immigration is turning the UK into an Island of Strangers. From Tony Blair's open-border legacy to Keir Starmer's refusal to leave the ECHR, Alp argues that our political leaders have no real plan to secure Britain's borders. He dismisses the Macron “one in, one out” deal as pointless and reveals:

What can the Roman legions of Constantine, the Ottoman forces of Mehmet the Conqueror, and the US Army of World War II teach us about modern military power? In this timely episode of the Explaining History Podcast, I speak with former senior British officer and acclaimed military historian Barney White-Spunner about his forthcoming book Nation In Arms (out 14 August). Drawing from five pivotal armies that helped shape the European continent—the Roman, Ottoman, New Model, Prussian, and American—White-Spunner explores what today's governments must relearn about the organisation, loyalty, and very soul of military power. We unpack why European governments have lost focus on defence since 1989, why the peace dividend is over, and what history urgently demands we remember in an era of renewed conflict. This is a deep and necessary conversation about the nature of armies, the responsibilities of the state, and the timeless lessons of military history.History of European Armies, Barney White-Spunner interview, Nation In Arms book, Military history podcast, Contemporary military threats, Lessons from Roman army, Cromwell's New Model Army, Ottoman Empire military, Prussian military reform, WWII US Army history, European defense policy, Future of armed forces, Explaining History podcast, Modern warfare and strategy, Decline of European militaries, History podcast, Military history, Geopolitics, European history, Modern warfare, Author interviews, Strategic studies, Defence and security, British military.Newsflash: You can find everything Explaining History on Substack, join free hereHelp the podcast to continue bringing you history each weekIf you enjoy the Explaining History podcast and its many years of content and would like to help the show continue, please consider supporting it in the following ways:If you want to go ad-free, you can take out a membership hereOrYou can support the podcast via Patreon hereOr you can just say some nice things about it here Hosted on Acast.
