Merkury, Wenus, Ziemia, Mars, Jowisz, Saturn, Uran, Neptun. Planety Układu Słonecznego wyliczają już przedszkolaki. Ale dla naukowców wciąż nie jest do końca jasne: jak wyglądał proces ich powstawania? Jak to się dzieje w innych układach planetarnych?  Opowiada nam o tym dr Joanna Drążkowska, astrofizyczka, która w Instytucie Badań Układu Słonecznego Maxa Plancka w Getyndze zajmuje się właśnie tym zagadnieniem.– Na początku był obłok molekularny, czyli po prostu materia, która wypełniała przestrzeń międzygwiazdową w naszej galaktyce – opowiada dr Drążkowska. Ziarenka pyłu w takich obłokach są maleńkie, mikrometrowe. Mogą zlepiać się w agregaty pyłowe (tzw. pebbles, kamyczki), niewielkie, zaledwie parucentymetrowe. W pewnych warunkach takie agregaty zbierają się i tworzą grawitacyjnie związane chmury, które zapadają się potem do planetozymali, niedużych (do 100 km średnicy) obiektów, przekształcających się następnie w planety. Brzmi prosto, ale ten proces do dziś zawiera mnóstwo niewiadomych i jest przedmiotem intensywnych badań.W przypadku Słońca ok. 4,5 miliarda lat temu ta materia zaczęła się zapadać pod wpływem własnej grawitacji. W pobliżu musiało się wydarzyć coś gwałtownego, by obłok materii międzygwiazdowej drgnął i zaczął się zapadać. Astrofizycy obstawiają, że mógł to być wybuch pobliskiej supernowej. Coraz mniejszy obłok zaczął coraz szybciej krążyć wokół własnej osi i stworzył dysk akrecyjny, z którego elementów powstały planety i inne elementy Układu Słonecznego. Naukowcy są niemal pewni, że Jowisz powstał jako pierwszy. – Jowisz i Saturn były potrzebne, by napędzać zderzenia planetozymali bliżej Słońca – wyjaśnia dr Drążkowska. Ich grawitacja wpływała na orbity planetozymali, dzięki czemu mogły powstać planety tak masywne jak nasza Ziemia. Jowisz przydaje się nam do dzisiaj: chroni wewnętrzny Układ Słoneczny przed pierwiastkami z zewnątrz. Dzięki niemu na Ziemi jest na przykład w sam raz wody do życia – pierwiastki z kosmosu mogłyby sprawić, że byłoby jej za dużo.Wiemy, że ponad połowa gwiazd ma jakieś planety, układy podobne do naszego zdarzają się dość często. Naukowcy wciąż szukają innej planety typu ziemskiego. – Najbardziej popularnym typem planety w naszej galaktyce jest coś, czego my nie mamy w naszym Układzie Słonecznym, czyli planety typu super-Ziemia i mini-Neptun – opowiada astrofizyczka. To planety o masie pomiędzy Ziemią a Neptunem, z gęstszą atmosferą. Niewykluczone, że na nich też może być życie. Jak mówi dr Drążkowska, wśród naukowców panują nastroje, że ślady istnienia życia pozaziemskiego możemy znaleźć w ciągu 5-10 najbliższych lat! Wskazówką będą konkretne pierwiastki w atmosferze: życie zmienia jej skład, tak jak na Ziemi.W odcinku posłuchacie też o cennych informacjach pochodzących z badania meteorytów, jak badać planety bez pobierania z nich próbek oraz dlaczego Merkury jest taki gęsty, a Mars ma rzadką atmosferę.

Planety, ale czy to Twój Kosmos? Och, tak. Możesz ułożyć tu swój. Ale czy masz już swoją ulubioną planetę? Ja bym szukała po brzmieniu. Pomogą najprawdziwsze nagrania. NASA. Free licence, oczywiście. Tao oto wędrujemy w kosmosie. Ale żeby nie zachowywać się jak bezmyślny turysta – chwyćmy cienkie nici wiedzy. Bo w sumie – wciąż więcej nie wiemy, niż wiemy o kosmosie. Zaczynamy! Aha, to będą takie trzy części: zanurzenie w muzyce sfer (św. Hildegardę przy okazji, polecam. Serio. Warto sprawdzić); będzie część krótka, acz teoretyczna, potem rozmowa z moją ulubioną malarką Dorotą Roszkowską, która maluje planety. I wystawia. Ostatnio w Białymstoku w „Kwestii Czasu” www.instagram.com/restauracjakwestiaczasu (PS. Zawsze smakowicie!) Potem wiersz. Uprzedzam. To mi, jak nic, zetnie zasięgi, ale przysięgam że Kosmos wymaga poezji. Od każdego z nas. Nie tyko tej napisanej, ale szczere westchnienie zachwytu – to poezja, pokazanie palcem komuś – to iście poetycki gest. Wracając do wiedzy: Planety…. W starożytności planety rozumiano jako „gwiazdy błądzące”, które poruszały się po niebie względem stałych gwiazd. Starożytni Grecy i Rzymianie nazywali planety imionami swoich bogów, takich jak Merkury, Wenus, Mars, Jowisz i Saturn. Cud, że bogowie okazali się na tyle solidni, że dotrwali do dziś w tych nazwach. Oczywiście starożytni nie obawiali się astrologii, wręcz przeciwnie: ustalali zależności, przeliczali trajektorie. A astronomowie, tacy jak Arystoteles, Ptolemeusz i Hiparch, próbowali wyjaśniać ruchy planet za pomocą modeli geocentrycznych, czyli Ziemia w centrum wszechrzeczy, a planety krążyły po złożonych orbitach zwanych epicyklami. Elegancko, ale już nieaktualne. Sto lat temu planety rozumiano już jako ciała niebieskie, okrążające Słońce w modelu heliocentrycznym, - Kopernika, Galileusza i Keplera. A W 1930 roku odkryto Plutona, (polecam historię dzikiego plemienia Dogonów, w Afryce, którzy przed wiekami ustalili, że pluton jest i u zarania dzieją miał się dobrze). Potrzebowaliśmy trochę czasu, żeby przyznać Dogonom racę. Dzikusy, wiadomo. Wiec po odkryciu Plutona uznano za dziewiątą planetę, ale później zdegradowano do rangi planety karłowatej. A potem pojawiły się teleskopy, sondy kosmiczne i satelity, aby badać planety i odkrywać nowe fakty o ich budowie, atmosferze, klimacie, geologii, magnetosferze i księżycach. I wtedy pojawia się Dorota Roszkowska… tadam tadam!!! powiedziałabym cala w bieli, ale Dorota jest cała w złocie, i chodzi tu o planety! I tak dzięki planetom możemy skomponować swój kosmos, bo kto powiedział, że kosmos nie jest nasz? Calutki. Kto powiedział, że my jesteśmy maluścy, a planety są duże? Kwestia perspektywy. The episode kicks off with Brian Lamar, Mike, and Andrew talking about Mike's background and how he ended up a Digital Strategist with Merkle. They also cover a bit about what a “Digital Strategist” does. The guys then chat about Merkle's cookie-less audience targeting tool, Merkury, and the news that it had been added to ActionIQ. Mike gives us some background on the tool, and it leads to a discussion about how the data it derives will be crucial in the near future. This actually leads us into a discussion about the Customer Journey Process. Mike starts off by letting us know what actually the process is, what goes into developing one, and how organizations/clients use it. They then discuss the role research plays in developing the customer journey process, both qualitative and quantitative. Mike talks about how both methods of research are needed to ensure that the journey is well-rounded and does not have any gaps. He gives a couple of examples of how missing one of the components leads to problems. Next, Mike discusses the approach Merkle takes when crafting customer journey processes for its clients.  The guys then switch gears and bring back the 4 P's. We learn Mike is a self-taught Blues harmonica player, what his favorite podcasts are, as well as his best fishing story!
