Na posiedzeniu komisji kultury i środków masowego przekazywania tego i owego doszło do zabawnego incydentu, który ilustruje. Przewodniczący pan Piotr Adamowicz z KO chciał zakończyć obrady. Wówczas głos zabrał poseł PiS, pan Marek Suski: Nie, nie, przepraszam, nie może pan zamknąć posiedzenia - powiedział, co nie przyniosło skutku, więc po chwili dodał: "Ty, po prostu, debilu". Nie było pana posła, nie trzeba było wychodzić - odpowiedział mu pan po prostu debilu Adamowicz. A jak pan Marek Suski poszedł na siusiu? Przypili to musisz. Zgłaszałem się do głosu, ty debilu - stwierdził dalej Suski. Przewodniczący komisji odparł jedynie "dziękuję" i zebrał się do wyjścia z sali. Szum się zrobił, na co pan Suski powiedział: Po prostu po imieniu nazywam debila debilem.

Gdańsk mayor Paweł Adamowicz was assassinated in January 2019. Some claim that hate speech helped to create the conditions in which the murder took place. Now, Adamowicz's widow, a new European MP, is fighting against hatred and violence.

Hace un año fue apuñalado el alcalde de Gdansk, Pavel Adamowicz. Grupos nacionalistas de Polonia lo acosaron durante años. Ahora su viuda lucha contra el acoso político ante el Parlamento Europeo.

„Jest taka modlitwa za zmarłych: "wieczny odpoczynek racz im dać Panie". Ja ją czasami odmawiałem… Każdy ma jakiś zmarłych. Powiem panu, że od tego, co się stało, czyli od roku, ja tej modlitwy nie odmawiam. Bo z kolei jak ją zacząłem odmawiać, to znów wróciły wspomnienia. Część rzeczy staram się eliminować. Już w najbliższą niedzielę 28. Finał WOŚP. 13 stycznia ubiegłego roku do jednej z puszek Orkiestry, jak zwykle od lat, na ulicach Gdańska datki zbierał prezydent miasta Paweł Adamowicz. Kilka godzin później, już ze sceny na Targu Węglowym, dziękował gdańszczankom i gdańszczanom za ich szczodrość. Gdy niedługo potem światełko Orkiestry frunęło do nieba, Paweł Adamowicz został dźgnięty nożem przez zamachowca, który nieoczekiwanie w świetle reflektorów wtargnął na scenę. Kilka godzin później Paweł Adamowicz zmarł. Borgmästaren i Gdansk mördas brutalt på en välgörenhetsgala. Det sker i ett land där tonen i politiken har hårdnat. Hör den mördades bror och ungdomsledaren som dödförklarade honom i förtid. Konflikts Robin Olin gör en resa till Polen i spåren efter den mördade Pawe Adamowicz, liberal borgmästaren i Gdansk, älskad och djupt hatad ända in i döden. Vad säger hans historia om polariseringen i Polen? Och kan vi i Sverige lära oss något av den? Den 13: januari i år hålls en välgörenhetskonsert som borgmästaren varit med och tagit initiativ till. Där, inför tusentals åskådare springer en man fram och hugger Pawel Adamowicz i hjärtat. Dagen därpå är han död. Polisen har inledningsvis sagt att mördaren har psykiska problem och inga politiska motiv. Men för den som följt Polens utveckling är mordet fullt av symbolik. Välgörenhetsgalan var politiskt laddad, grundaren är en rockstjärna med liberala åsikter och borgmästaren själv var på kollisionskurs med den styrande konservativa Lag och rättvisa-regeringen, som styrt landet sedan 2015. Pawel Adamowicz välkomnade migranter och var för homosexuellas rättigheter. Vi träffar Mateusz Marzoch, talesperson för Allpolsk ungdom som människorättsorganisationer beskriver som homofobisk och främlingsfientlig. En tid före mordet utfärdade dom ett dödscertifikat för Pawel Adamowicz och ytterligare 10 borgmästare i Polen sedan dom sagt sig välkomna flyktingar till sina städer. Marzoch försvarar fortfarande det där fejkade certifikatet som delades ut som flygblad. Det väckte ju uppmärksamhet, säger han. Vi träffar kvinnan som fått ta vid när Adamowicz hastigt försvann, vice borgmästaren Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. Mycket har förändrats på kort tid, säger Aleksandra som fått vänja sig vid att ha livvakter vid sin sida varje stund sedan borgmästaren, kollegan och vännen mördades. Och vi får en intervju med Piotr Adamowicz bror vars egen psykolog har avrått honom från att prata med media. Polariseringen ökar i hela Europa, om än på olika sätt beroende på olika länders historia, det säger den amerikanska statsvetaren Sheri Berman. Historikern Lars Trädgårdh menar att vi nu ser hur splittringen letat sig in mot den svenska politikens mitt. Och Nima Gholam Ali Pour, lokalpolitiker för Sverigedemokraterna i Malmö, tillhör dom som är rädd för hot och hat i sin vardag. Þúsundir manna komu saman í G-dansk um helgina til að kveðja borgarstjórann og heiðra minningu hans, og þjóðarsorg var lýst yfir í Póllandi. Adamowicz hafði verið borgarstjóri í G-dansk í rúm tuttugu ár, eða frá árinu 1998, hann var frjálslyndur í skoðunum, og hafði meðal annars gagnrýnt mjög stjórnarflokkinn í landinu, sem kennir sig við Lög og réttlæti, hann var andvígur áherslu núverandi valdhafa í Póllandi á þjóðernishyggju og hafði staðið vörð um réttindi innflytjenda og samkynhneigðra á tímum sem einkennast af íhaldsemi og þjóðernishyggju. Lestin minnist Adamowicz í dag, og rýnir í voðaverkið G-dansk fyrir rúmri viku, gestur þáttarins verður Pawel Bartoszek, borgarfulltrúi og fyrrverandi alþingismaður. Í nótt átti sér stað stór stund í lífi stjörnuspekúlanta, magnþrungið sjónarspil þar sem himintunglin röðuðust einhvern veginn hárrétt svo út varð blóðrauður tunglmyrkvi. Rætt verður í Lestinni í dag við Sævar Helga Bragason um tunglmyrkva næturinnar, en einnig verður rýnt í ýmsar þjóðsögur og mýtur sem tengjast ,,blóðmánanum." Caroline Calloway, sem hefur verið kölluð fyrsti Instagram-áhrifavaldurinn, sætir nú mikilli gagnrýni eftir að notandi á Twitter sakaði hana um svik. Il viaggio di Kiosk continua, stavolta tra l'Europa centrale, il Caucaso e i Balcani orientali. Apriamo commentando un fatto di cronaca che riguarda la Polonia, ovvero l'omicidio del sindaco di Danzica Pawel Adamowicz, noto per le sue idee liberali verso le minoranze e per le sue politiche d'accoglienza. Un episodio che è forse sintomo del clima di odio e violenza verbale che caratterizza la politica del paese, contro cui si sono espressi migliaia di cittadini polacchi nel corso di una serie di manifestazioni spontanee in memoria di Adamowicz.Restiamo in Europa centrale ma torniamo indietro nel tempo per ricordare una data molto importante: il cinquantesimo anniversario della morte di Jan Palach, giovane studente cecoslovacco che il 16 gennaio 1969 si diede alle fiamme in Piazza San Venceslao a Praga per protestare contro l'occupazione sovietica della Cecoslovacchia. Insieme a Donatella Sasso, ricercatrice presso l'Istituto Salvemini di Torino e collaboratrice di East Journal, riflettiamo sul significato storico-politico del sacrificio di Jan Palach, interrogandoci anche sulla strumentalizzazione della sua figura da parte di alcuni ambienti politici di estrema destra.Ci spostiamo poi nel Caucaso per parlare di Azerbaigian e violazioni dei diritti umani. Con noi Alexander Sjodin, che dalla sede di Bruxelles dell'organizzazione Human Rights House Foundation si occupa del caso di Mehman Huseynov – giovane blogger e prigioniero politico azero che ha iniziato uno sciopero della fame per denunciare e attirare l'attenzione internazionale sulla repressione del regime di Ilham Aliyev. Infine ci occupiamo di Romania, paese che dal 1 gennaio 2019 esercita, tra le critiche, la presidenza semestrale dell'Unione Europea. Abbiamo voluto approfondire alcuni elementi del percorso storico-politico del paese, dal comunismo ad una transizione per certi versi ancora incompiuta, al senso delle proteste di piazza per i romeni, insieme a Francesco Magno, redattore di East Journal.
