Presentation College Athenry will hope their long wait is over this Monday (St. Patrick's Day - 17th March 2025) when they take on Thurles CBS in the Masita All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior A Hurling Final. Galway are also seeking to end a 30-year famine since St. Raphael's, Loughrea were victors in 1995. It's a repeat of the 2023 semi-final when Athenry edged their opponents 0-15 to 0-14. Aaron Niland, Seán Murphy, Aodhán McDonagh, Darragh Counihan and Michael Fallon are still involved from that victory. This is Presentation's fifth final appearance following defeats in 1976, 2018, 2019 and 2023. The latter three came at the expense of St. Kieran's, Kilkenny but Presentation Athenry got a measure of revenge in this year's semi-final, winning 4-13 to 2-11 thanks to goals from Oscar Fitzpatrick, Ciarán Leen, Eoin Hannon and Ethan O'Brien. Thurles CBS, chasing a first title since 2009, overcame Coláiste Bhaile Chláir 0-21 to 0-17 in their semi-final. Leading up to the game, Presentation Athenry manager Paul Hoban has been chatting to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly. == Throw-in at Croke Park on St. Patrick's Day is 3pm and we'll have LIVE coverage here on Galway Bay FM.

Sometimes the most accomplished investors and developers thrive while keeping a relatively low public profile. That's clearly true of The Fallon Company. For nearly 20 years, the Boston-based firm has been the driving force behind Fan Pier, the three million-square-foot development on Boston Harbor that ranks among the most significant urban placemaking initiatives of the past couple of decades. Hello and welcome back to Investment Matters. My guest for this episode is Michael Fallon, the firm's CEO and the successor to Joe Fallon, the company's founder and Mike's dad. In this conversation, you'll also hear about the pivotal experience Mike gained from working in another industry, the new markets that he views as promising, and the company initiative that opens doors for young people to real estate careers. Take a listen. Episode highlights: Origin story of a Boston landmark (2:56) The life science lease that became a turning point (7:20) Boosting resilience with a U.S. first (10:45) Where The Fallon Co. sees the next big opportunities (15:39) Growing a footprint in the South (20:54) Early influences: getting the flavor of the business (24:49) Takeaways from construction industry experience (28:38) Tips for aspiring professionals (31:22) An innovative, “wildly impactful” program for young people (34:29) How to revitalize U.S. downtowns (39:41) Mike Fallon off the clock (44:53)

MICHAEL FALLON Michael Fallon's visit to Ireland's Aran Islands is a very funny “you-can't-get-there-from-here” story. He arrived by ferry from Galway. Though everyone spoke English, he could not learn how to return to the mainland to catch his flight home. “There's no ferry that goes to Galway," he was told. But how did the ferry he took from Galway get there in the first place? How would he get home? The post Red Ferry, Blue Ferry: An Irish Lesson in How You Can't Get There from Here appeared first on PenDust Radio.
MICHAEL FALLON First, cancer endangered Michael Fallon’s life, and then it threatened to take his voice from him. He learns that to survive and recover from cancer, you must find that place in yourself which is the source of inspiration and strength, that deep river of being that — even now — flows through you. This is the uplifting story of how he found “the lost river” and got his voice back — with the help of memory, imagination, and a sip of Garnacha wine. The post Finding the Lost River appeared first on PenDust Radio.
MICHAEL FALLON When Michael Fallon was diagnosed with stage four cancer of the throat, he burst into tears and wondered how he could possibly tell his wife the devastating news. This was followed by uncomprehending rage and radiation treatments in the belly of a massive, whirring machine that focused a beam of invisible light on his tumor. Yet he wanted to save something of value from what was happening to him and to share inspiration with others who must face and endure challenges of their own. The post There is Something I Must Tell You appeared first on PenDust Radio.

It has been an extraordinary year for British and international politics. Theresa May began 2017 as the queen of all she surveys. She ended the year humiliated in the Commons, broken by her disastrous decision to call an election and in charge of a party deeply divided over Brexit. For Labour, Jeremy Corbyn began the year fighting for his survival only for his fortunes to be transformed by the general election. This was the year which also saw Donald Trump run wild in the White House, Emmanuel Macron’s shock victory in France and chaos in Catalonia. 2017 will also be remembered for the Grenfell Tower disaster which shone a light on how the poor had been overlooked and neglected. The Mirror’s Kevin Maguire, Alison Phillips, Jason Beattie and Mikey Smith recall their highlights of 2107 from Theresa May’s disastrous conference speech to Jeremy Corbyn receiving a hero’s welcome at Glastonbury. They name their politician of the year, speech of the year and campaigner of the year. The Mirror’s political team also discuss the “Pestminster” scandal that led to the resignation of Michael Fallon, Priti Patel’s fall from grace and why Boris Johnson is unfit to be Foreign Secretary. And they give their verdict on May’s leadership, Brexit and why nobody is talking about the Lib Dems. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
