Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 67th episode of "VideoFuzzy," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 2,900 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Let's Talk About This," I explore a fourth-season episode of "Criminal Minds" where a serial killer is targeting police officers in Phoenix, Arizona, and thematic implications for our current media and social environment, including authoritarian behavior and police brutality. I trace connections through shows I encounter in this set, including Scott Lowell and Michael O'Neill's appearances in "Leverage," Mary Gross, James Denton and John Larroquette, and then trace a Golden Thread tracking Adam Arkin's appearances in my collection. In my Classic VHS-to-DVD Collection, I talk about "The Simpsons," "Skins," "South Park," "Psych," "Damages" and highlight what struck me as misdelivered lines in "Take This Sabbath Day," a significant first season episode of "The West Wing." Also, revisiting some Old Business regarding Olive Snook singing "Eternal Flame" in a second season episode of "Pushing Daisies," and in Nerd Shows, I talk about the third season episode of "The Universe" titled "Sex in Space." In my Current, direct-to-DVD Collection, it's a segment-length Lightning Round with comments on "I Am Legend," "Heaven is for Real," "Harley Quinn," "The Alienist: Angel of Darkness," "Cake," "Castle," a 2017 documentary called "Prince: When Doves Cry," "The Lodger" (1944), "The Boston Strangler," "The Twilight Zone," "Disturbia," "Fantastic Four" (2015), "Braven," "Before I Go to Sleep" and oh wow, Stephen King's "Dark Tower" was amazing.

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 53rd episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,800 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "We Are As Gods," I highlight a short-lived Steven Bochco courtroom cable drama "Raising the Bar," pulling up the pilot episode for my Friday Night Feature. In Cross Connections, I trace "Studio Six Feet Under" connections from that show through J. August Richards and Teddy Sears, then tracking actors Mark-Paul Gosselaar and J. August Richards' multiple appearances throughout my collection, as well as golden thread represented by Mark A. Sheppard. In my Classic VHS-to-DVD Collection, I found several fifth-season episodes of "24," along with a few episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus, featuring some racist language that has not aged well, but also featuring a couple of housewives pondering the human condition culminating in a visit to Jean-Paul Sartre, so these guys, you gotta take the good with the bad. Also, Tom Cavanagh in "Love Monkey" and The Daily Show's spoof of the Obama intro video at the 2008 DNC. Then, as the title reference for this entry, I found Tom Lenk as Andrew Wells in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the seventh season episode "Storyteller," a scrap of video featuring The Trio dancing about in Elysium fields with gold and a unicorn singing "We Are As Gods." I took a run at recreating that here, and in all modesty .. nailed it. :D In my Nerd Shows, my Classic Collection also turned up an episode in a History Channel science series called "Evolve," tracking the evolution and adaptation of skin across so many millions of years and species. Fascinating. In my direct-to-DVD Current Collection, I discuss the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, "Pose," "Preacher," "Claws" and "A Million Little Things." Samantha Bee highlights expanded reproductive services provided at clinics in southern states to expand public support. In VideoFuzzy at the Movies, I touch on broadcast presentations of "I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry," "Dragonwyck," "I Wake Up Screaming," "The Bishop Murder Case," "Hangover Square," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "The Bone Collector" and "The Perfect Guy," as well as "Sweet Charity," "Steel Magnolias" and "Woman Times Seven," featuring Shirley MacLaine and Peter Sellers. Finally, I encountered the Turner Classic Movies presentation of Vanessa Redgrave and Dustin Hoffman in 1979's "Agatha," exploring the real-life disappearance of queen of crime Agatha Christie. I first heard about that intriguing little speculation on the "All About Agatha" podcast by Kemper Donovan and Catherine Brobeck, and you can check that out here. In What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I recently finished watching all episodes of "Polar Bear Cafe" on Crunchyroll, and in upcoming shows, we'll be taking in the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theater production of Michael Frayn's "Noises Off!" They do a great job and I'm very much looking forward to that.
The week the fanboys discuss Zombieland 2, Batman: Hush, Regal Unlimited, and the Fortnite World Cup. Game of Thrones recently ended and that got the fanboys thinking and thus, the idea for the main event was born. For episode 2, Jake, Jason and Mike argue what nerd property they would adapt into an HBO TV Show. Who Will win? Did you know Mike is a bitch? Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 49th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,800 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "VideoFuzzy at the Movies," I breeze past my VHS-to-DVD Classic Collection transfers to my Friday Night Feature reactions to a 2007 Discovery Channel documentary called "In the Shadow of the Moon." Then in What I've Been Watching, I dive into a discussion of several movies I've enjoyed recently, including the Elton John biopic "Rocketman" and video releases of "Hereditary," "Get Out" and "A Cure for Wellness." In my direct-to-DVD Current Collection recordings, out of order viewing gave me a jarring introduction to the fifth season of "Luther," plus comments on the premieres of "Claws," "Pose" and "Archer," the finales of "Fosse/Verdon," "Happy!" "A Discovery of Witches," "Superstore" and "Brockmire," with thoughts on "Parks & Recreation," "Halt and Catch Fire," "Psych" and "A Flowershop Mystery: Mum's the Word." Then in my Nerd Shows, comments on Brian Greene's "Light Falls: Space, Time and an Obsession of Einstein." In Upcoming Shows, I look forward to the third and final season premiere of "Legion" on FX and the PBS premiere of "Chasing the Moon." I close with a shoutout and reflections observing my second anniversary of "VideoFuzzy," highlighting some of my favorite episodes in the series.
Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 48th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,800 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Live in Front of a Studio Podcast," I pull up the third season premiere of "Psych," guest starring Cybil Shepherd for my Friday Night Feature, and run through a selection of Gus's nicknames. In Cross Connections, I trace connections from Todd Stashwick taking on a side role in "Psych" and his appearances throughout my media collection, and Elysia Rotaru in a smaller number of shows in my archives, but one of them is "Fringe," so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing those when they turn up. In my VHS-to-DVD Classic Collection transfers, I found Tori Amos giving a live performance of "Bouncing Off Clouds" on an episode of the Graham Norton Show, which also featured her in a 1980's ad for Just Right cereal. I also found a minute or so of what turned out to be Pamela Anderson's "V.I.P." interrupting a fourth-season episode of "The Shield," in which I saw what looked a lot like Glenn Close standing in front of my media collection circa 2008. ;) Also, in contrast to last time, I found some hilarious first-season episodes of "Monty Python's Flying Circus." Finally, the seventh season premiere of "Monk" was dedicated to the memory of longtime supporting character Stanley Kamel as Dr. Kroger. In my direct-to-DVD Current Collection recordings, I caught the presentation of ABC's "Live in Front of a Studio Audience" production hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear, featuring episode remakes of "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons," followed by a commentary episode of "Nightline." Also, comments on "A Discovery of Witches," "Fosse Verdon," "Happy," and the third season finale of "Brockmire." And in my Nerd Shows, I chat about a History Channel presentation of "The Dead Sea Scrolls" with comments on episodes of "How the Universe Works" and "Breakthrough." And oh hey, my new mic arrived in the mail! Too late for this episode, but tune in next time and we'll find out what I sound like. Cheers!
Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 39th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,700 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "A Million Little References," I talked about a musical stage production of "A Christmas Story" we got to that they're running for another week at the FMCT -- go see that if you can, they do a fantastic job. For my Friday Night Feature, I talked about a fourth season episode of "Doctor Who" called "The Fires of Pompeii" that I really enjoyed. It feels like most of the time when I talk about "Doctor Who" I'm complaining about this or that, so I wanted to just revel in the positives, not least of which this preunion of David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Peter Capaldi as 2-1/2 Doctors, along with a pre-Pond appearance by Karen Gillan as a soothsayer -- outstanding! In my Classic Collection, along with a bunch of the usual, I discovered episodes of "Terminal City," a strong if unfortunately interrupted performance by George Michael in the first season finale of "Eli Stone," the BBC America counterterrorism production of "MI-5," several first season episodes of "The Sarah Jane Adventures" on Syfy, as well as Syfy's presentation of the 1995 "Ghost in the Shell" Puppet Master anime. In my Current Collection, I managed to completely empty out my DVR and catalog most of my current collection, up to disc X202. I watched my season 5 pileup of AMC's 10th year anniversary reairing of "Breaking Bad," which figured heavily in the backlog. Unfortunately, this interfered a lot with progress on my Classic Collection, contributing to the lateness of this installment. Along with "Breaking Bad," I archived episodes on either side of midterm elections from Samantha Bee's "Full Frontal" and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" I'll have to go back and catalog properly. I also brought in episodes from season 1 of Netflix original "BoJack Horseman" as rebroadcast on Comedy Central, as well as episodes of "The Good Place," "Superstore" and that ABC production of "A Million Little Things" my friend Jesse Zimmerman talked to me about in Episode 38 and which I was only able to watch three or four episodes of that, but maybe ABC will put the whole thing back on demand at some point. Speaking of missing episodes, I couldn't find the "Doctor Who" season 11 episode "Kerblam!" anywhere, but I think they're planning a marathon from the current season in the run-up to the Christmas episode so ... keeping an eye out. And in other Nerd Shows, comments on "Hacking the Universe" and "How the Universe Works." Finally, in What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I got over to watch "Ralph Breaks the Internet," which was awesome. Be sure to stay to the end for the preview of "Frozen 2"!
Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 33rd episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,700 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Reporting Alternative Facts," my Friday Night Feature looks at tabloid journalism aboard the "Battlestar Galactica" and traces one or two reference points to stuff going on today. In my classic VHS-to-DVD collection, I explored "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's take on the 2008 writers' strike in "Canada on Strike," pulling in some comments from "Commentary!" the musical backstory released as part of "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." I also talk about some stuff that's been going on with my music library, which has taken some attention away from this project in recent weeks, as well as some news that led me to strip any potentially copyrighted images out of my Facebook page. Heading into my current direct-to-DVD recordings, I talked about significantly stepped-up storylines in "Preacher" and "Better Call Saul" and the season finales of "Claws" and "Trial & Error." "The Sinner" got a bit dark, "We Bare Bears" closed out a lackluster season, I'm nearly down to the series finale on "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency," I made some progress on my "Supernatural" season 13 backlog (I caught up to the "Scoobynatural" episode) and enjoyed the most wonderful cast parody spoof of "Ghostbusters" by Hillywood here. I watched a few NERD SHOWS science updates in "How the Universe Works" and "Space's Deepest Secrets," exploring the Juno mission to Jupiter, the Cassini mission to Saturn, the history of the solar system, monster stars, quasars, black holes and the Big Bang. I also encountered a quite remarkable artist recently, Tim Blais, who crafts frankly brilliant science-themed music parodies and original pieces you can discover for yourself here, which are also available on iTunes. And I had to ding "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert for throwing Omarosa's book "Unhinged" into the bargain bin -- the 30 percent off initial release is a marketing strategy, not any kind of reflection of sales, and he knows this. Upon its release, "Unhinged" topped the New York Times bestseller list. It's doing just fine. Finally, Spotify has added VideoFuzzy! But weirdly enough, right now it is only searchable under my name, so you can search for that under Terry J. Aman. Enjoy!
This is a jam packed episode that includes our ideas of what makes a romantic date, followed by a breakdown of 2 shows we’re watching right now. Legion and Taboo. Warning, spoilers may occur.
