Is it better to do right for the wrong reason or to do wrong for the right reasons? Can superheroes exist in the absence of supervillains? Can we find enough to talk about in a 40-minute web series from 2008 to fill an entire episode? Edited by Andrew Ivimey and produced for the From Superheroes network. The writers strike of 2007/2008 had a massive impact on the entertainment industry as television content dried up, movies were either put on hold or had to make due with directors and actors stepping up to make revisions to scripts, yet from this difficult time, there were those that found a way to do something unique. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 66th episode of "VideoFuzzy," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging nearly 2,900 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Providing Leverage," I was joined by Marc Bailey of the "Grailwolf's Geek Life" podcast via Facebook Rooms in celebrating the three-year anniversary of this podcast with a where-have-they-been conversation about Jossverse actors. First, however, I feature the pilot episode of "Leverage," titled "The Nigerian Job." In Cross Connections, I track Timothy Hutton, Mark Valley, Lily Tomlin, and track Michael O'Neill as a Golden Thread running throughout my media collection. In my Classic VHS-to-DVD Collection, I talk about encountering the series finale of "Boston Legal," along with episodes of "The West Wing," "Eli Stone," "Fringe," a scrap of grid search and election night 2008 featuring John McCain's concession speech and President-Elect Barack Obama's Grant Park address. In my Direct-to-DVD Collection, I touch briefly on a second season episode from "Supernatural" featuring La Monde Byrd as blues musician Robert Johnson and introducing a crossroads demon, early proof-of-concept for Mark A. Sheppard's long-running Crowley character. I then transition to a wide-ranging conversation with Marc Bailey discussing Jossverse actors in such shows as "Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Firefly," "Serenity," "Dollhouse," "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," "Seal Team," "Harley Quinn," "Powerless," "Miracles," "Point Pleasant," "Wonderfalls," "Dietland," "Castle," "Pearson," "The Crazy Ones," "Chance," "Tru Calling" and Joss Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing," with comments touching on "Star Wars," Kenneth Branagh's "Murder on the Orient Express," remastering issues and spoiler etiquette.

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 33rd episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,700 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Reporting Alternative Facts," my Friday Night Feature looks at tabloid journalism aboard the "Battlestar Galactica" and traces one or two reference points to stuff going on today. In my classic VHS-to-DVD collection, I explored "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's take on the 2008 writers' strike in "Canada on Strike," pulling in some comments from "Commentary!" the musical backstory released as part of "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." I also talk about some stuff that's been going on with my music library, which has taken some attention away from this project in recent weeks, as well as some news that led me to strip any potentially copyrighted images out of my Facebook page. Heading into my current direct-to-DVD recordings, I talked about significantly stepped-up storylines in "Preacher" and "Better Call Saul" and the season finales of "Claws" and "Trial & Error." "The Sinner" got a bit dark, "We Bare Bears" closed out a lackluster season, I'm nearly down to the series finale on "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency," I made some progress on my "Supernatural" season 13 backlog (I caught up to the "Scoobynatural" episode) and enjoyed the most wonderful cast parody spoof of "Ghostbusters" by Hillywood here. I watched a few NERD SHOWS science updates in "How the Universe Works" and "Space's Deepest Secrets," exploring the Juno mission to Jupiter, the Cassini mission to Saturn, the history of the solar system, monster stars, quasars, black holes and the Big Bang. I also encountered a quite remarkable artist recently, Tim Blais, who crafts frankly brilliant science-themed music parodies and original pieces you can discover for yourself here, which are also available on iTunes. And I had to ding "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert for throwing Omarosa's book "Unhinged" into the bargain bin -- the 30 percent off initial release is a marketing strategy, not any kind of reflection of sales, and he knows this. Upon its release, "Unhinged" topped the New York Times bestseller list. It's doing just fine. Finally, Spotify has added VideoFuzzy! But weirdly enough, right now it is only searchable under my name, so you can search for that under Terry J. Aman. Enjoy!

A pod's gotta do what a pod's gotta do Joe, Seb and James have a treat here for you The only doom that's looming is us singing you to death So we'll give you a second to catch your breath No, don't worry. We're not singing. At all. We promise. But we have gone pretty darned deep on Joss Whedon's 2008 online musical miniseries Dr Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog, with yet another discussion about fridging as well as an exploration of toxic masculinity that seems even more worryingly apt than it did ten years ago. And while we don't sing ourselves, for those of you who've never heard the songs we're talking about (or even if you just want to hear them again) we have included a whole bunch of clips, so in a sense it is still a musical episode. Pro Hero EJ Pennyman and anti-hero Ryan Dalton, digress immediately. Delaying the long expected Dr. Horrible episode. This episode is chock full of references to 2008s Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog with very little by the way of explanatory commas. We do, however, explain all the ways Dr. Horrible subverts our expectations. Also, to make this episode more subversive: Act III Captain America: The Civil War spoilers. We also get sidetracked occasionally, so that's something to look forward to.Show notes: - While there's a sort of direct sequel called 'Golden Ninja Warrior', there's also another movie starring Richard Harrison, still wearing that damned camouflage ninja suit, called 'Ninja Dragon' which I now suddenly have to watch.- The Writers Guild of America strike still took place between 2007 and 2008. "Let it begin!"01:19:16 - There's a film about vampires coming out called Twilight. Not interested. We'll stick with Buffy & Angel, thank you very much.01:21:53 - Ridley Scott made a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. It's called Body Of Lies. That's pretty much all the Trailer had to say.01:25:52 - Apparently, the United States government doesn't like it when you talk smack about Ridley Scott's latest film, because they sent a very loud, intrusive helicopter after us.01:26:47 - The show comes to a close with talk about the Teaser for Watchmen and the works of comic book author, Alan Moore.01:33:50 - Promo for the Astral Audio Experience. The following artists can be heard in this episode: AC/DC, Neil Patrick Harris, Blur, Teddybears, Fonda, Splashdown, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard, Ladytron, Robert Miles, 8mm, Aqualung, Brad Fiedel, Monster Magnet, Aretha Franklin, Seal, Hughes Hall and The Smashing Pumpkins.
